“Get over here, Jakkie-boy. Lesson three is how ta treat a lady.”

Jak obeyed at once. It was warm and soft, cuddling with Tess, but now that both he and Daxter had come he felt that the redhead was right. Tess did need some attention. Some very thorough attention. He settled in at Daxter’s side, blushing only a little and looking back and forth at his friend’s faces rather than Tess’s… yeah.

“What do you want me to do, boys?” she asked. She still had her knees together primly, perhaps in deference to Jak. All that could be seen was a fluffy, well-groomed patch of gold at the juncture of her shapely thighs.

“Absolutely nothing, Tessy-kins. You just lay there and prepare to be blown away.”

“Ooh,” she purred, “I like being blown away.”

Daxter grinned, then elbowed Jak. “Now, first thing’s first. This is not a dirty movie. I trust you are more than smart enough to know that, Jak. Tess is hotter than all those women combined, and she’s also the very best, sweetest, smartest, awesome-est girl in the whole world, and should be treated as such.”

Jak nodded very seriously, fighting down a smile as Tess giggled. “I understand.”

“Good. Now you are cleared for access—with the lady’s permission?”

“Be my guest!” Tess smiled down at them and spread her legs.

The temperature of Jak’s face went up several degrees, but to his credit he didn’t look away.

Daxter’s hands skimmed up her smooth legs and over her thighs, obviously familiar with the territory. He petted through her curls, seeming just to enjoy the feel of them, before he turned to Jak again. “Okay, pal. I know ya know what these look like, from vids and stuff. I know, because I watched most of ‘em with ya.”

“Boys,” Tess muttered with an amused roll of her eyes.

“They were a poor substitute fer you, sweetie-pie,” Dax promised, ears flushing and drooping contritely. “Uh, anyway. I won’t be insulting with vocab lessons, Jak. Just watch a second and I’ll show you what Tessy likes.”

Grateful at not being treated like a young teen being given The Talk, Jak rested his cheek on Daxter’s freckled shoulder to watch.

The cleft Daxter’s fingers trailed down looked warm and soft, like the rest of Tess. It was slick and shiny in the candlelight. “Were we that exciting ta watch?” the redhead asked cheekily, pausing to stroke the little nub at the top.

Tess bit her lip lightly, shifting against the touch. “You have no idea.”

“Like I said, Jak. Best girl in the world.” With an adoring grin, he left the favored nub and grabbed Jak’s wrist. “Here, yer turn.”

Hesitantly Jak began to imitate, looking up at the blonde for reassurance. “Tell me if it’s too hard or anything, okay?” Dax knew how hard to press what buttons, but Jak would play it safe for the time being. His thumb slid gently over the raised spot, stroking it in fascination.

“You got it, Jak.” She was more than encouraging, squirming and opening her legs wider for the boys between them while making the most pleased little sounds. “That’s wonderful. You can go in a circle if you want, or back and forth, or—oh!” She gasped and arched in surprise when Daxter snuck a finger inside, withdrew, and went back with two. “Oh, Daxxie! Jak!”

“Keep on doin’ that thing yer doin’, Jak.” The voice Jak had known all his life had taken on a rough purr, and it made the green-blonde shiver. “There’s a little spot in here, too… kinda like buried treasure. This works best when ya do it at the same time.”

Jak nodded and reflexively rubbed a little faster. Tess moaned, cupping her own breasts as Daxter’s long fingers began to curl inside her, almost as if he were making the “come here” motion. Jak wasn’t sure where to look—at what their hands were doing or at her face as she systematically lost control. Her whimpers got louder and her hips began to rock against them.

“This is amazing, you guys,” Jak breathed quietly.

“I know, right?” Daxter turned his head to nuzzle Jak’s shoulder, kissing damp skin before turning back to coo at Tess. “Is this the spot, baby?”

“Mmph!” She squeaked, eyes tightly closed.

She was cute when she squeaked, Jak decided. Daxter was right; Tess was very, very awesome. She even smelled good. Different than Dax, but still good. A wild idea seized him, and Jak before he could talk himself out of it he leaned forward and lapped at the place where Daxter’s fingers disappeared.

A sharp little squeal and a buck were her response, and Jak jerked back in alarm. Maybe she didn’t like that?

“Holy shit.” Daxter’s eyes were huge as he regarded his friend. “I just got the best idea!”

Jak blinked. Then he hadn’t done something wrong? Good. “What’s that?”

“Huh?” Tess raised herself weakly on her elbows as the wonderful fingers left, looking dazed and a little confused. “Why did you stop?”

“Only one second, Tessy-kins,” Daxter promised. “You will love this! Jak, c’mere. I need ya ta do somethin’ for me.”

Jak leaned closer. “Yeah?” Anything, at this point.

The redhead slid his messy fingers into Jak’s mouth matter-of-factly, ignoring the shocked gasp. “Firstly, since ya seemed curious about the taste, clean these for me. Second…”

Jak’s face and neck burned as he listened to the soft voice whispering in his ear. Oh, gods. He had never imagined anything like this. Daxter’s fingers slipped easily in and out of his mouth as he explained what he wanted, breath hot against the sensitive inside of the racer’s ear. Tess was watching with dark cheeks and half-lidded eyes as Jak tasted her off Daxter’s hand. He was hard again, very. It was like some sweet, filthy dream that he would beat himself up for having in the morning. But it wasn’t.

“… can ya do that fer me, Jak?”

Jak nodded dumbly. It seemed simple enough. He gave one last reflexive suck as Daxter pulled his fingers away and gave him an encouraging nudge. They mustn’t keep the lady waiting. When Jak’s feet hit the floor he felt a strange sense of vertigo—for the last hour he had almost forgotten that anything but the bed existed. Ah, well. That was quickly fixed. With just a few steps he was at the head of the bed, and slipped into the little space behind Tess.

Upside down, she looked at him confusedly.

“Hi, Tess.” Jak leaned down with a grin and slid his arms under hers, around her ribs. It was easy to pull her up so that her back fit snuggly against his chest and the top of her head tucked under his chin.

“Oh!” she giggled in surprise. “Well, I can’t remember the last time I was picked up.”

Daxter snuck forward and resituated himself between her knees to make up the distance. “Jak’s big and strong like that. Doesn’t it just give ya the chills?” He tickled across the insides of her thighs, and chills were indeed forthcoming, if the way she shivered pleasantly in Jak’s arms was any indication.

“What are you doing down there, snookums?”

Daxter grinned and giggled, resting his chin on her upraised knee. “Something…”

“What something, Daxxie?” she asked, eyes narrowing playfully.

Without answering further Daxter picked up her leg and draped it over Jak’s. She looked on in surprise but didn’t resist as he did the same to the other leg, leaving her nicely spread once more. “Why don’t you tell Jakkie-boy just how much you liked my little rough tongue when I was an ottsel, hmm, Tessy?”

She gasped sharply, eyes widening as her hands clenched on Jak’s arms. “Oh, no! I’ll kick you in the head again, Daxxie!”

Jak laughed, giving her a light squeeze. “No you won’t. That’s why I’m here.”

“Exactly.” The redhead’s hands landed on her calves, petting lightly. “Me and Jak have it all under control, so you just enjoy.” He nuzzled lovingly at the insides of her thighs, looking very cute and ottselish.

“I won’t let you kick him in the head, Tess. I promise.”

“Well, o-okay,” she agreed slowly, settling back against the racer. “I do enjoy it so much, but it seems like every time we try I accidentally hurt—ah!” She stiffened in Jak’s arms, and her head fell back to land on his shoulder as Daxter made a sneak attack.

From his angle Jak couldn’t see exactly what his best friend was doing down there, but from Tess’s sudden litany of breathy gasps and mewls he could guess well enough. He could see Daxter’s hands on her hips, and a hint of tongue as he lapped away, eyes half shut and ears twitching slowly in some sort of languid concentration. Jak grinned. Oh, yeah, he had found Daxter’s happy place.

“You know, Tess, you might be the first person ever to figure out how to shut Dax up for more than five seconds.”

Tess laughed between gasps and squeaks, while Daxter simply lifted one hand and flipped Jak off without raising his head or even opening his eyes any further.

The green-blonde’s grin widened. “In a minute, Dax. Finish the job you’re on first.”

When Tess’s nails began to dig into Jak’s arms and her head started to toss in time with the sounds she made, he caught her hands in his own and entwined their fingers. He could feel the muscles in her legs tensing against his own as she tried reflexively to close them against the building sensations.

“Do you want him to stop?” Jak asked quietly in her ear.

“Nooo,” she moaned sweetly, gripping his hands harder.

That settled that. But her ear was so pink and warm and inviting that Jak just had to lean forward to lick the edge of it shyly. That earned another little moan, so he did it again, with nibbles this time. He moved from the upper edge of her ear to the base, kissed behind it, then made his way down her neck. It seemed like a good thing to do. The skin under his lips was hot and damp, and Tess shook against him with the force of her enjoyment.

“Ah, ah, ah—!”

Her noises weren’t so quiet anymore. Glancing down, Jak noticed that one of Daxter’s hands was missing in action from her hip. Probably had fingers inside while his mouth worked that nub she liked so much. No wonder she was trying to crush Jak’s fingers in her grip.

When her hands suddenly left his, went up over her head and back to clench in fistfuls of Jak’s hair, the hero reached up automatically to knead and rub her breasts. He was already getting attached to them.

Tess didn’t move.

Jak frowned and shook her arm. “Tess? Are you okay?”

The blonde was completely limp. Her skin from the tops of her breasts to the tips of her ears was flushed bright red, while her head lolled against his chest, eyes closed and mouth open slightly.

Jak’s own mouth dropped open in shock. “Oh Precursors, Dax—we killed her!”

The redhead snickered in slightly evil delight. He reached up to stroke Tess's hair away from her face. "No we didn't, Jakkie-boy. That just means we did a really good job.” He got to his knees slowly, his renewed arousal as painfully obvious as Jak’s felt, and began to pat her cheeks lightly. “Tessy? Come on, Tessy, wake up. The party’s not over yet.”

After only a few seconds, her eyes fluttered open. She blinked and slowly focused on Daxter. “Wha?”

“You blacked out, snuggle-muffin,” he supplied helpfully.

“Blacked…? Oh, no! Was I drooling?!” Tess’s hand flew to her mouth in horror.

“No drool. Just hotness. The hottest hotness that ever was hot.” The redhead wrapped an arm around her waist as he leaned in, while his other went around her to hug Jak as best he could. “I could see yer face, and Jak’s face, and it was just amazing, Tessy.”

“It felt pretty amazing, too!” she laughed weakly. “It’s a good thing Jak’s so strong.” Her hand snuck back up to pet Jak’s hair as she kissed Daxter.

His nose buried in Tess’s silky hair, Jak laid a hand on the small of Daxter’s back and spent a moment simply existing. He didn’t know if any of this would work out in the light of day, but for right then, everything was fine.

Daxter shifted and squirmed under the petting hand on his back, just like he had done for years. Leaning up with a moan and pulling Jak into a kiss was new. Not that anyone was complaining. In fact, by the urgent noises he began making in the middle of it, Jak had a feeling Tess was doing something naughty between them that he couldn’t see.

“Ahn!” The redhead shuddered as he broke the kiss, panting against Jak’s mouth. “Tess. You think it’s time ta give Jak his present now?”

“I think it’s the perfect time. Would you like the honors?” Tess was all grace again as she disentangled herself to find the bag that had been kicked off the bed and hand it to Daxter.

“Thanks, babe.” Dax looked very pleased as he found what he was looking for. “Okay, Jak. I picked this out especially fer you, so I hope ya like it.”

Jak shifted closer. “I will. What is it?”

What Daxter held up was a strip of leather, dyed a deep blue and curled into a loop. He handed it to Jak for inspection, and the racer turned it over curiously in his hands. The leather was supple and very smooth. There was a metal button snap on one side, and a cinch on the other to tighten the loop and make it smaller.

Jak smiled. “A wristband. Thanks, Dax.” He had always been partial to strappy accessories. When he held it over his wrist, though, he had to pause. “Uh, I think it might be a little small for me…”

Tess giggled. Daxter’s grin widened.

“What?” Jak’s ears lifted in curiosity.

Still grinning, the redhead took the strap back. “Actually, Jak, I think it’ll fit just fine. Lemme give ya a hand there, pal.”

Jak’s eyes widened and he gasped as Daxter’s hand reached out—not to take his wrist, but to wrap around his arousal. “Wha?!”

“Jak, meet Mr. Cock Ring. Become friends.” With quick fingers Daxter slipped the leather down to Jak’s base and tightened the cinch until it was snug enough to squeeze pleasantly, but not too snug. “Ha, it does fit! And it doesn’t look half bad, either. I always thought ya looked good in blue.”

Daxter laughed. He got hold of Jak again and began to stroke, from tip to ring, in a way that turned the muscles below Jak’s waist to jelly. “Just a precaution, Jakkie-babe. A simple precaution. Not only does it look sexy as hell, and bring out your eyes, it’ll make sure Tessy gets as much out of things as me and you. Not to knock yer prowess or anything, but I guess sometimes guys can get a little softer when they’re distracted by—well, never mind. Let’s just leave it there, shall we?”

Jak didn’t like the innocent little smile one bit. “Distracted by what?”

“By the big, scary distraction that’s going to distract you, hot stuff.” Dax growled playfully and pounced.

Jak caught him easily, but not without falling backwards into the pillows with a laugh and a fwump. Tess was soon beside them, watching their tussle with warm eyes. When things finally stilled Daxter was stretched out on top of Jak while they kissed deeply. Tess ran her fingers through the two-toned silk of Jak’s hair, murmuring her approval.

“Are we ready, then, Daxxie?” Her tone was light but eager.

Jak blinked up at them dazedly, drunk on redhead. “Ready for what?”

“Ready fer lesson number four.” There was a strange catch in Daxter’s voice as he thumbed Jak’s goatee and rocked into the answering nudge of Jak’s hips against his own. “Now, this one’s a double lesson, but since you’re our star pupil, we think you can handle it.”

That sounded like a challenge to Jak, and he was all about challenges. “Sure I can.”

“That’a boy. Now, roll over.”

Jak did, and found Tess already lying with open arms. She snuggled up next to him at once and draped her thigh over his hip. Jak gasped shallowly as his hardness brushed the hot, slick spot between her legs. Now he knew for sure what this lesson was about, and an involuntary shudder crawled down his spine.

“Tess, wait! Don’t we need…? I don’t know, a condom, or something?”

She smiled heatedly, stroking his chest with both hands. “Thank you for thinking of it, Jak, but it’s all taken care of. I’ve been on birth control for a while. Me and Daxxie aren’t quite ready to be mommies and daddies yet, and we didn’t think you would be either.”

He almost laughed. He could see Dax being good with kids, but himself a father? Ha. “Not for a looong time, Tess.”

Daxter laid a hand on Jak’s hip right above Tess’s leg. He had shifted behind them without Jak even noticing. “We figured. But, uh… I can use a condom if you want, pal. I got some just in case. Didn’t know what you’d want.”

Jak’s ears went rigid. Oh, Precursors! He had all but forgotten what Daxter’s role in this part was going to be. Now he was doubly nervous; he felt like he might begin to sweat even before they had gotten properly started. He swallowed with some difficulty.

“Jak?”

“Go ahead. Without one, I mean. It’s fine. I’ll feel you both that way. Without anything between us.” He knew it was perfectly safe, anyway. Tess had been Daxter’s first, and she was a fastidious partner-picker. Nothing catching between the three of them.

“Alrighty.” There was nervous laughter in the redhead’s voice. “If all parties agree, I’ve got an idea how we can get this started.”

“Go ahead, Daxxie,” Tess said, shifting against Jak. “What’s your idea?”

“Well, first I need ya to hold somethin’ for me, babe.”

Jak yelped in surprise as Daxter reached between his legs to take hold of his length and tuck him well and truly between Tess’s shapely thighs. He bucked reflexively, sliding along the core of her but not actually inside. Alright. So the stupid strap had been a good idea.

“Ah! I think I can handle holding that,” Tess purred, leaning in to snatch a kiss from Jak as they both tried hard to be still. “But please hurry! Uh, as much as you can, anyway. Not to rush anything.”

Jak could feel the grin behind him and gulped.

“Sure thing, toots.” There was a snap as Daxter popped the top on the lube bottle again. This time it was close enough for Jak to smell the strawberry. “Okay, big guy. I’ll be easy, okay?”

“I know, Dax. And if you’re not I’ll just pin you down and tickle you until you wet yourself. Again.” Jak snickered and Tess smothered a squeal of laughter against Jak’s collarbone as Daxter sputtered indignantly.

“That was a long time ago, thanks very much! Smart-ass.”

When he made the jibe, Jak knew what it was going to earn him. So he didn’t jump or struggle when his legs were shoved wider and a slick finger pressed down for only a second’s warning before slipping inside him. He sucked in a breath so fast that it hissed and automatically arched his pelvis against Tess. “Ah, damn!”

“That feel alright?” Daxter asked. He still sounded a little annoyed, but wouldn’t risk discomfort for Jak by not asking.

Jak struggled for the air to speak. “It’s fine. It’s more than fine.” With his erection already throbbing against Tess’s treasure, he couldn’t find the stimulation Dax was providing to be anything but an add-on to the pleasure. He needed more, and soon. “Faster, Dax.”

Slowly, so slowly, the finger withdrew almost all the way, and returned at the same maddening pace. There was a wicked smirk in the redhead’s tone. “Faster Dax, what?”

“Faster Dax, please!” Jak groaned, caught between the two. Hell no, they weren’t playing that game. If his crazy friend wanted him to beg for it then he wasn’t above begging, as long as it got him some relief.

“Don’t be mean, Daxxie,” Tess scolded breathlessly. Her hands tightened around Jak’s upper arms as the racer shifted more and more rhythmically, rubbing against her inner folds. “I’m going to say some bad words if I don’t get him inside me soon!”

“Oh, well, we can’t have that.” Taking pity on the both of them, Daxter added another finger, a lot more lube, and stepped up the pace. “You two look awful good like that. My little blondes, right there together.”

Jak whined against Tess’s forehead, his eyes sliding shut. The sweet talk was yet more stimuli pushing him toward overload. He spread his legs wider without being told. The stretch was so far from painful, he was sure he was leaking all over Tess. “Daxter, please. In. Now.”

“Pushy hero, aren’t ya?” Dax purred. The hand that wasn’t busy unexpectedly cupped Jak’s balls, squeezing lightly, almost experimentally.

Jak threw his head back and cried out. Obviously he was going to lose his mind before this was through. “Dammit, Daxter, just do it! Nnn!”

“Okay, okay. Calm down, pal.”

A soothing kiss swept the damp hair at the back of Jak’s neck aside. He briefly squirmed against the pressure and pleasure of three long, clever fingers before they were gone altogether, leaving him feeling oddly cold and sloppy. Then Daxter’s hot arousal was pressed against him, making them both gasp.

“I guess you know what’s good for ya,” the redhead gritted in his ear. “So here goes nothin’!”

Jak wanted to howl as Dax pressed in. Some unintelligible noise was as far as he got. His arms clamped around Tess, pulling her tight against him with a surprised squeak. Dax had used what felt like half the bottle of lube, and there was no pain at all, only the stretch. He was left gasping, with Daxter’s strained litany of “fuck, fuck, fuck, yer tight!” against his ear.

Tess reached down through the mad tangle of trembling legs and gently ran her fingers over the place where Jak and Daxter were joined. “Like, wow, guys…”

“Yeah, wow, baby,” Dax panted. Then he reached down in turn and pressed Jak further between her legs. “You ready, Tessie-sweetie?”

“I thought you’d never ask!” She moaned rapturously as Daxter nudged Jak’s very tip inside.

Jak thrust before he could think, sliding most of the way into her in one go. She squealed, and he froze, but the hands tangled in his hair and the eager mouth on his didn’t seem pained in the least. He pulled his hips back—just as Daxter thrust forward. Jak snarled like he was going Dark, arching his back as their rhythm began just like that.

They moved fluidly together once they got started. Jak’s head spun at the feel of being pressed close between his friends, clutched tight by Tess and filled so perfectly by Daxter. He began to pant hoarsely when the redhead’s thrusts found a spot deep inside him that felt like fire and ice at once, all the while shoving him into Tess’s dripping heat at a delightfully scorching pace. The squeeze of the leather strap around his pulsing arousal kept him back, though. He would have been gone five times over if not for it.

Tess began to murmur incoherently as she rocked against him harder and harder. “Oh! Oh! More, Jak. I’m almost… ah! Ah!”

Daxter heard her, of course, and gave one exceptionally hard thrust that chain-reactioned Jak into a frantic buck. The racer felt a rush of wetness between them as Tess cried out, going stiff and still against him. He whined in his throat; he didn’t think he could pull out, even if she was done!

“It’s okay, Jak,” she panted, every inch of visible skin flushed. “Keep going. I can take it. One more, boys? Can you give me one more tonight?”

Jak felt Daxter groan against his neck, right before the bite came. Apparently Tess’s coaxing words were working up the both of them. He shivered and hissed. That would be a bad bruise. He loved the thought of it.

All at once Dax reached down between them and flipped the button snap on Jak’s strap open with his thumb. It fell away, leaving Jak to swear breathlessly against the rush of sensation. He had a moment, as he gripped Tess’s shapely hips tighter and tried to do as she asked, to dimly think that Daxter must also be close. Then he was pistoning into the blonde as she wailed his name against his neck, spasming in his hold.

“Tess, nnn-aah! Dax, Dax, please! Shit!”

Daxter cried out shakily as his thrusts began to lose their rhythm in desperation. “Aaah, Precursors—fuck, Jak—love you!”

It didn’t matter what Dax did at that point, because Jak was already gone. The “L” word from his best friend’s mouth shoved him over the edge like jumping off the pier into a deep ocean of slack-jawed bliss. Jak nearly sobbed as he spilled into Tess’s willing body, feeling her hug him close in something akin to sympathy as Daxter’s nails raked accidentally against his hip and the redhead lost it right behind with a scream of pure satisfaction.

For a long, long time afterward there was nothing but three sets of heavy breathing and the soft ticking of a clock somewhere in the room. The shadows cast by wavering candlelight continued to dance across the ceiling. Jak could hear the pounding of his heart in his ears, slowly beginning to quiet.

Daxter moved first, pulling slowly out of Jak. Jak grunted at the feeling, but moved to do the same for Tess. She rolled over onto her back with a little murmur as he did, not even opening her eyes. Her hand still held his tightly.

“Whoo!” The redhead exhaled shakily, drawing his forearm over his brow and brushing back his hair. “That was some wild ride.”

Jak nodded dazedly. Now there was no getting around the need to sleep. He was going to sleep good and hard. Except… “Need to clean up.”

“There’s a washcloth and… and things in the bathroom,” Tess said softly. She still hadn’t opened her eyes. “I was going to go get them when we were done, but…”

Daxter slid out of bed, wobbly-legged but determined. “Don’t you move, baby-cakes. I got it.” The door opened with a creak and he was gone. Seconds later a light came on down the hall.

Jak lay petting Tess’s hair to keep himself awake, listening to Dax rustle around the bathroom. The tap came on, ran for a while, and went off. Careful footsteps heralded Dax’s return as he came back with a large basin of hot water and three washcloths draped over his arm.

“Here we go. Service with a smile! Ah, ah, Tessy. Stay still, now. We tired you out pretty good, huh, beautiful?”

Jak smiled and watched, stroking Tess’s cheek, as Daxter wrung out a washcloth and began to pamper his favorite lady. Well, he could certainly help, too. Tess cooed blissfully as Jak gently wiped her face and neck, while Daxter drew his cloth over her breasts and down her body, getting off most of the sweat and all of the stickiness they had all managed to produce. Working together, they even got her under the covers. Jak got out of bed and lifted her carefully, holding her to his chest while Daxter turned down the blanket and straightened the pillows.

“Kisses,” she demanded cutely when they were done and had laid her back down. She caught Daxter, who gladly obliged, then cupped a hand under Jak’s chin, tickling his goatee, and drew him in for a smooch. Finally she tipped his head toward Daxter, obviously encouraging.

They sighed tiredly against each other’s lips. It was the best kind of tired.

“Mmm,” Tess purred as she watched them kiss. “That was all wonderful. But I’m sooo sleepy.”

Daxter smiled as he tucked the blanket around her. “Go to sleep, then. You worked hard all day cookin’ and getting ready for tonight. We’ll be right here. Love you, Tessy.”

“Goodnight, my sweet boys. Sleep tight.”

Though they were losing steam fast, Jak and Daxter still made it through a semi-thorough cleanup. The hot, soapy cloth felt good on Jak’s skin. He scrubbed his face, the back of his neck, then the rest of him while Dax did the same.

“Want me to take this back, since you got it?”

“No. Just leave it, Jakkie-boy. It’ll keep ‘til morning.” Daxter did get up to set the bowl and cloths on the dresser, and blow out the candles. A thin slice of light from the bathroom down the hall cut through a crack in the door and fell against the wall, enough to barely illuminate the redhead as he staggered back to bed with a massive yawn. “Scoot over, you. I’m about to follow Tessy’s shining example.”

“Same here.” Jak obediently shifted between the sheets, scooting up close to Tess once more so Daxter could slide in on his other side. His head hit the pillow with a deep sigh. “Hey, Dax? About tomorrow. If—”

A hand landed firmly, but lovingly, over his mouth. “Shh. No talkin’. That can wait. Just sleep.” Daxter’s arm settled around him, wrapped comfortably over his chest like a resting ottsel, and his chin nestled against the green-blonde’s shoulder. “Love ya, Jak.”

Jak swallowed a lump in his throat. “I love you too, Dax. Goodnight.”
