After running off to her room Neru lay on her bed and locked her door. All of a sudden Taito appears in front of her door smiling at her “You forgot your tie in his room” Neru’s eyes widen. There was no way he could of gotten in she was sure she locked her door. “Get Out” she yelled throwing a pillow at him and her eyes widen even more as the pillow hit the door not Taito. “what….” She realized he wasn’t really there. The ‘Taito’ that was there just giggled and smiled at her. “I am in your head love” “What the hell?” Neru lies down grabbing other pillow and covers her face so she can't see him “This isn't happening! Get out of my head!” Taito sits next to her “I won't. I'm going to be here with you forever.... Now how will you know whether I'm real or not?” Neru curled up on her side facing away from Taito “No, no, dear God no.” And in a soft voice said “Help me...Akaito...” Taito smiles at her “If he was going to he would be here right now but you pushed him away. You might think I'm mean but I'm only saying what is in your conscience.” At that time Akaito was walking to her room to check on her still feeling horrible about everything “Maybe she will let me near her” he knocked on her door “Neru, Sweetie?” Neru heard the Akaito at the door “Akaito! Is that really you?” she then spoke to herself “Are you just in my head too? Do I let him in? I don't want him to see me. But I don't want to be here with Taito. What do I do? What do I do…?” Taito whispers right in her ear “Don't let him in...” At the same time Akaito replied to her “Yes Neru it’s really me I came to see if you are okay” Neru yelled towards her door at Akaito “I"M FINE” then to herself “Damn it no I’m not. But I don't want him to see me. I don't want to be here with Taito. I just want to be alone.” Then loud enough Akaito could hear her “Leave me alone!” before shouting “BOTH OF YOU LEAVE ME ALONE!” Leave me alone! *shouting* BOTH OF YOU LEAVE ME ALONE!” Taito whispers at her again “don't say things like that they'll think you’re crazy... don't let him near you. You don't want him to see you all broken like this....” Akaito places him hand on the door and rests my head against it and quietly cries speaking in a quiet tone "I’m sorry this happened Neru" then in a louder tone so she can hear him "I love you Neru so much" turns and heads to his room again knowing that was the best he could do. Neru sat on her bed with her knees to her chest “I love you Akaito.” Then started to sob “Why? Why did this have to happen?!” Akaito kept silently crying “We will get through this...” continuing to his room “I promise we will get this sweetie we will” hugs himself as he walked into his room and curled up in a ball on his bed. Back in Neru’s room the vision of Taito was still hanging around Neru. “You know why, don’t you? I only know what you know... now think what could have made Taito loose it?” “He and Akaito always fight but I can't remember what the last thing they fought about was.” She sat there thinking “I can't remember...I can't remember” Taito smiles “What did they fight about? Were you even there when it happened? Do you think that Taito just had enough?” Neru remembered something “No, I wasn't there. I heard what happened. I remember what happened now. Akaito said it wasn't going to last, that Taito would snap and Meiko would get hurt. Then Taito got mad and punched him. I found Akaito by the lake after that.” “See, I only know things you know and things you forgot are harder for me to know... but will you be able to handle being told things that are in the back of your mind?” Neru’s eyes widen “What the hell do you mean?” “I will be telling you everything that crosses your mind when I'm around that is… I will be your devil’s advocate always showing the other side of your things... of course until you come to your senses....” “NO! No way are you messing with me like that!” she starts looking around the room “I got to get out of here.” She started running to the first place she could think of to go….
Akaito's room
Neru ran down hall “Akaito! AKAITO!” She stopped at his door but couldn’t go in or even knock. Hearing her Akaito made it to the door right about the same time she made it to his door and opened it and looked at her “Yes Neru?” “ I...I...I want to talk. But not in your room. And not in my room.” She looked down so she didn't have to look at him or his room. Akaito did his best to try and smile “okay where would you like to talk then?” She thought for a minute “Um… The music room” she thought to herself ~It's safe there. And if I play the piano, maybe I'll be too distracted from Taito to show up. ~ Akaito nodded “alright then let’s go there” he moved away from his door and they both walked to the music room several feet away from each other. Once there Neru took her place at the piano and Akaito leaned against a wall close by. She sighed “For the record, you have nothing to apologize for. Just thought I'd clear that up” Akaito looked at her and shook his head “.....you’re wrong I have to apologize for more than one reason.......” Tears started dropping as he started feeling the guilt wash over him again. Neru was calm and still in a state of denial. “Why do you have to apologize? Why are you crying?” “....it’s all my fault.... I made Taito mad that’s why he did all this.... I couldn’t protect you....” he fell to his knees crying “I couldn’t protect you......” Neru sat in front of him “You don't need to cry. I'm fine. You had nothing to do with it. Nothing happened. Your princess is safe” she lied through her teeth knowing the second she admitted what happened she would break down. He looked at her and went to caress her cheek but stopped pulling away thinking she wouldn’t want him to touch her “Neru, my beautiful princess who I love oh so much.... How can you be so calm my love after all that happened?” Neru’s face soured “I keep telling you nothing happened, but it means so much to me knowing that you still love me” She thought to herself ~Even though you saw your brother touch me and now I'm more messed up than I can admit~ Akaito tried to hug her “Neru there is nothing that could make me not love you. You are my precious princess you own my heart” Neru tries to return the hug but couldn’t “Please don't touch me. I love you so much but please don't touch me.” Akaito nodded and tried to smile after that day’s event “okay I wont. I will wait as long as I have to” Neru smiled a bit “Thank you so much for understanding” her face changed to nervous look “hope you also understand when I say that I don't want to have a sleepover tonight” Akaito nodded “I completely understand. Like I said I love you Neru I will wait as long as I have to I don’t mind you’re worth it” “Thank you so much Akaito” Neru sighed “you have no idea how much I just want things to go back to normal” “I know Neru I want things back to normal too so badly.....” he quietly speaks "and to be able to hold you again" “I want you to hold me again too. I would love to hug you right now but” she had flashbacks to Taito tying her up, touching her, hitting her “but, but I can't” she shakes head to try to get the images out of her mind “I understand” he again tries to smile “I would love to hold and kiss you again but I know I cant but I will wait for the day I can” Neru forces a smile of her own “I'll let you know the moment you can. And I'll be sure to make up for any lost time” she sighs a bit “So what now?” “I’m not sure....” he looks down sadly still beating himself up for not being able to protect her. Neru noticed him looking down “Is there anything you want to talk about?” Akaito smiles “don’t worry about it sweetie I’m just feeling kind of bad.... I feel responsible for all this for everything that happened especially to you.....” he starts tearing up again “Please don't beat yourself up about all this” in a softer voice she says “I need you to be strong for me” Akaito holds back the urge to hugs her and hold her “okay Neru for you my princess I will be strong for you *touches her hand gently seeing if I could at least do that” Neru didn't want to be touched anywhere but bared with it for Akaito “Thank you” lightly squeezes his hand “my prince” fakes a smile then let’s go of his hand “I think I'll be sleeping here tonight.” “okay well I will just back to my room” he gets up from the floor “try to sleep well my love I am always here if you need me no matter what time of night” he heads to the door “Thanks.” She didn’t not want to go to his room or her room “I'll text if I need something.” She stood in front of him at the door “Good night Akaito. I really hope you sleep well. I love you” she wanted to kiss him, but she couldn’t. Akaito blew her a kiss and smiles a little “alright I will come rushing if I get a text from you my love sleep as well as you can I love you too Neru” That night they both laid in their respective rooms and sighed missing each other but knowing they wouldn’t be able to be close together for a while.
