The sibling pair had arrived at the restaurant district fairly soon and found that there were two remaining tickets for each of them to buy. Purchasing the tickets the duo then had to wait for six hours until the club’s opening, and the time in between was spent doing a myriad of activities with each other; cloud-watching at a park, grabbing a snack at a café, and almost running into the romantic trickster being among the more prolific activities. Back in the moonlit streets of the restaurant district Chrom and Lissa made their way to a changing booth to get into their club-outfits, with Chrom finishing first. As he stepped out into the cool air, Lissa could have sworn that she didn’t see Chrom, rather a delectable specimen of a man.
“Say!” Lissa was practically swooning. “Who’s this stud?”
“Heh, thanks Lissa,” Chrom said slightly nervous. “I’ve never worn anything like this…I was actually a little worried that you might have found this not very fashionable once I had actually put it on.”
“Are you kidding me?” Lissa said. “The ladies would have been all over you if you wore stuff like that regularly! That look is just too good!” ‘And I’ll be sure to let them know that he’s off the menu,’ Lissa added in her head. “Alrighty then, time for me to get dressed up, and NO PEEKING mister!” Of course Lissa didn’t actually think that Chrom would peek on her—being his little sister—but she’d change that in due time. “Oh, by the way, catch,” she said to Chrom right as she disappeared behind the door, tossing a small breath-freshener and cologne spray to her brother who caught them.
“Oh, er, thanks Lissa,” Chrom said. Taking a look at the items and not failing to notice Lissa’s tone Chrom had a hunch that there was something behind the scenes going on. Taking everything that had happened in account the prince could not deny that Lissa had been acting much more different than usual, if at least just around him compared to other people. From way earlier when she had a breakdown over him, to her sudden and unexplained kisses, and with the surprise gift she had in store for him with the added statement of “wanting to really surprise him come night when everything was said and done”, all of that just did not seem like how a little sister would act toward her big brother. The trickster man from before told him that Lissa was stealing adoring glances at him, and while he had earlier challenged the man’s claims he was starting to wonder; was he actually right?
‘Lissa has been going out of her way to ensure that we both have a good time today…’ Chrom internally said. ‘Everything she’s done up to this point is what people would usually do for someone that they liked, like a person who was more than special to them. And Lissa still didn’t answer me when I asked her if she was okay when I told her what that trickster said. Even the name of the place we’re going to is a popular courting establishment. She must be hiding something.’ The prince was starting to use his head for once and was coming to conclusions that made him a little uncomfortable.
‘I mean, Lissa used to have a small crush on me when she was younger and…she’s acting like how she used to when she had that crush. Sweet whenever she was around me, did a lot of things for me, complimented me a bit more than other people, almost as if she was trying to win my heart, always worrying and watching after me even though I was older…And here she is doing the same things. Good Naga above, has my sister fallen for me? That would make some sense of all of this I suppose…’ Before he thought of anything else the door from the changing booth clicked open and out came his sister, the princess looking far more of a classy lady than before.
“Well, how do I look?” Lissa asked him, wearing the dress and jewelry she bought from the tailor’s. Chrom stared at her with widened eyes from how much the outfit had transformed her.
“You look…beautiful,” he answered. “Gods, I’ve always imagined you to have a slim frame, and that dress is just perfect for it.”
“…What?” Lissa did not expect Chrom to say something about her body, let alone compliment her figure. “Did you just…say that you’ve been imagining that I had a slim body?” At this Chrom immediately wished that he had thought out his last sentence better.
“No,” he threw out in a hurry before correcting himself. “I mean, I haven’t really been fantasizing about you—wait, that came out wrong. What I mean to say is, I’ve only ever started wondering what you looked like under your robes exactly once.”
“And that was?”
“When you caught me staring at you early this morning, right before Frederick and the others barged in my room.”
“Oh…oh…” That was all the confirmation that Lissa needed.
“Listen, I’m really sorry about that, it’s just, er…”
“Oh, you don’t have to apologize,” Lissa assured Chrom. “It’s natural for a guy to want to know what a girl’s body looks like, and being honest here I’ve been checking you out a few times myself trying to imagine what you look like.”
“Erm, Lissa? Hold on for just a second,” Chrom started to say until she shushed him.
“Oh spare me the lecture bro,” Lissa told him. “We’ll talk about this later tonight, m’kay? For now how about we get going already? The line’s probably full and we’ve got like, ten minutes until the club opens. Better late than never, but never late is better.” Lissa and Chrom finished with their preparations they made their way to the Hall of Crossing Stars, though some questions lingered in Chrom’s head.
‘Lissa’s been admiring and fantasizing about me as well, but what for? I wonder what else she has in store for me tonight.’
The pair arrived at the club just as it had opened and saw nobles of all sorts step through the doors in pairs. Chrom and Lissa pulled out their tickets and clutched them tight while out-of-sight, then once they reached the doors after everyone else had gone inside the attendant took their tickets that they held out for him to take. His arm gestured for them to enter having checked in their reservation claims, and two more attendants were inside either leading everyone else straight ahead to the main room or to an upstairs section.
“Excuse me sir,” Chrom asked one of the attendants. “There’s people heading either down the hall or upstairs. What’s the difference between either?”
“The upstairs section is an outdoors section,” the attendant replied. “That’s where our special guest dancer will be performing first. Some of our patrons cannot stand the outdoor cold so they prefer to stay inside.”
“Oh, alright. Thanks for the information.”
“Why don’t we head upstairs Chrom?” Lissa asked. “We’ll get front row seats and first dibs on the show, and it has to look lovely upstairs.”
“Sure, why not?” he answered.
“Enjoy your night sir and miss,” the attendant said with a bow. The siblings responded with their own and walked themselves up the stairs. As they progress upwards they noticed how the color of the walls were slowly changing from bright red into a dark blue shade, and white stars were slowly cropping up in the darker parts of the “sky”. It was certainly a nice touch to the aptly named “Hall of Crossing Stars” they figured, yet thinking about the name of the place had Chrom’s mental gears revving up again.
‘I can see the stars motif for sure, but the “crossing” part eludes me. Wait, I think I remember something that Maribelle told me. She said that to cross the stars in the sky is to defy what the fates had deemed for you to reach out to your soulmate. Odd that Lissa picked a place like—wait a minute.’
“Hello? Earth to Chrom?” Lissa said snapping her fingers in his face. In a second he regained focus of his surroundings and saw Lissa staring at him with a slight hint of amusement. “You okay there bro? You kinda just stopped walking and spaced out.”
“…I’ll tell you later,” Chrom said, “where we won’t be disturbed. Let’s just hurry on inside.” Lissa didn’t bother to press the subject any further but she couldn’t help but feel that Chrom was hiding something from her. The prince took his sister’s hand and led her past the large doors, and the pair was greeted with a torch-lit ballroom with night-sky paintings everywhere, dancing couple statues, and a balcony in the open air. People were already seated and taking their orders, and a remaining table stood in the center waiting for the duo to take their seats. With the pair in their chairs a waiter approached them and handed the prince and princess their menus.
“Here you go sir and miss,” the waiter said. The siblings took their menus and Chrom gave them a glance while Lissa fired off her order.
“May I have some Citrus Blossom Tea sir?” she asked. “Oh, and I would also like a small order of the special Fire-Feroxi Flanks, a side of chicken soup and two éclairs for dessert.” The waiter responded with a bow and took Lissa’s menu from her while he waited for Chrom to give him his order.
“You can go on ahead and get her food ready, I’m not ready to order just yet.” The waiter walked off to get Lissa’s meal up and running while the siblings went over their menu. “You sure knew what to order right off the bat.”
“Maribelle told me everything that there was on the menu before we left,” Lissa replied. “She actually had a copy of what was on today’s menu, and I really wanted to try the special. It looks super-good!”
“The Fire-Feroxi Flanks?” Chrom asked. “Hmmm, they do look delicious, but I’m not sure that it’ll be good for my insides. It looks like it’ll be really hot and spicy.”
“That’s the point,” Lissa pointed out. “I’m pretty sure I can take ‘em on.”
“What, when you can’t even stand bear meat?” Chrom said.
“That and what I’m ordering are two completely different things mister.”
“Sure they are.”
It took over ten minutes for Lissa’s meal to arrive and for Chrom to order his food. Still thinking that they were on a tight budget Chrom ordered a simple stack of ribs and a glass of water, and Lissa was all too eager to tear into her own dish. As Chrom had warned though, the flanks proved especially hot and spicy for Lissa, but she wasn’t deterred from her meal, even if she had to endure every blazing, tear-inducing bite. In less time than Lissa’s food had arrived did Chrom receive his, calmly taking in his ribs while Lissa still continued to struggle with hers.
“Told you that it might be a bit too much for you,” Chrom commented.
“Sass me later,” Lissa quietly cried out. “The pain is still worth it.”
“You’ll be changing your mind once the food hits your lower gut,” Chrom remarked while chomping on one of his ribs.
“Yeah right,” Lissa groaned. Lissa took another fiery bite and Chrom raised an eyebrow when it looked like Lissa was choking, only for Lissa to meekly respond with an “I’m okay”. Chrom kept himself from laughing at the ridiculous display to not hurt Lissa’s feelings, even if she brought it all on herself.
“And now,” a loud female’s voice announced, getting everyone present’s attention, “The moment you’ve all been waiting for! Tonight we have a very special guest dancer with us. She’s a rather shy but truly mesmerizing dancer from the snow-painted lands of Western Regna Ferox, the happily adopted daughter of West Kahn Basilio Leeroy Jackson who is actually here himself to watch his girl work her magic. Give the ol’ man a large round of applause for allowing this moment to come to fruition!” A large spotlight shone down on the eponymous man who sat near the front of the dancer’s stage, sitting with folded arms and a pearly white grin. The ensuing applause rang out softly but surely.
“Thank you, thank you,” the Kahn said raising his arms up high. “You’re too kind. She actually asked me if she could do this and if I could come out here for tonight and, aw Hell, who am I to deny my little girl that chance?”
“Kahn Basilio?” Chrom said. “What a surprise seeing you here.”
“Huh?” The large man turned around and saw the prince and princess looking his way. “Well, whaddya know? Came to see my girl in action eh Chrom?” Suddenly every eye in the room was on Chrom and Lissa, making the pair feel uncomfortable.
“Well how about that?” the announcer spoke as the spotlight shifted from Basilio to Chrom and Lissa. “The prince and princess of Ylisse themselves has unexpectedly dropped in on us! I don’t see their older sister the Exalt anywhere, but hey I’m not complaining! We’ve got three guest celebrities with us tonight! Anyways, without further ado, here’s our star dancer; give it up for Olivia Montoya!” From behind the curtains emerged a pink-haired girl who shyly walked to the stage with a hot flush on her face, and the applause only served to widen the red across her face.
“Oh please,” she said in a soft voice. “This is too much. I really must thank my loving father Kahn Basilio for allowing me to have this dance with you all, and I’m so very grateful that you all would have me for tonight. I only hope that you find my performance most entertaining.” Olivia could be seen prepping herself for the dance while the composer got into position. The music then played and Olivia began her dance slow and steady, the song itself being “The Nutcracker Suite Op. 71a”.
“Oooh, this is one of Maribelle’s songs!” Lissa said. “She’s been trying hard to get it right.”
“I see,” Chrom said, his eyes fixated on the dancer whose movements moved like water to the music. It seemed like everyone else in the room was also fixated on Olivia’s dancing, spinning her flexible figure to match the speed and pitch of the song like no other could. The prince had never seen such a performance before and was drawn in to Olivia’s contours and sways, something that Lissa didn’t fail to catch. She had to admit that Olivia’s dancing was very much everything the attendant hyped it up to be, but she was a teeny bit jealous that she couldn’t dance like that, and it worried her how enraptured her older brother had become. Fortunately after what seemed like an eternity of different dances and music (Lissa herself having become entranced by Olivia’s motions), Olivia wrapped up her performance with a final flair as the ending part of a cello and orchestra cover of the band OneRepublic’s “Beethoven’s 5 Secrets” rang out. The applause was not too rowdy seeing how all of the patrons were refined nobles but it was a hearty round of applause nonetheless. Olivia did her best to not feel as flustered from the praise and smiled a bright smile at her adoring audience.
“Thank you! Thank you!” Olivia says while bowing courteously. “It’s such an honor to have you as my audience tonight.
“Yeah!” Basilio exclaimed while clapping louder than everyone else. “That’s my little girl!”
“What a wonderful performance,” Chrom complimented. “I wonder who her instructor was.” Lissa couldn’t help but agree, but now she couldn’t help but feel like she has competition to deal with over Chrom’s heart; Chrom sure seemed particularly enamored with the dancer girl, and she sure seemed nice. Lissa didn’t want to have to compete for Chrom’s love. Thankfully for her it wouldn’t come to pass as Olivia stepped down from the stage with her adopted father’s help and made an announcement.
“You were all such a wonderful audience, and now I must ready myself for the folk downstairs from us. After that I’ll be returning home to Regna Ferox with Kahn Basilio.”
“We pray that we may see you perform again someday?” An elderly noble asked the dancer.
“Oh, um, I suppose that I can afford to make another visit here sometime in the future,” Olivia answered. “Otherwise I’ll strive to make more performances here in Ylisse very soon. So yes, you may see me again in the foreseeable future.”
“Splendid!” the elder said. “I must introduce my daughter to you someday, she aspires to be a dancer someday, and you would be a perfect role model for her.”
“Oh wow, thank you sir!” Olivia said blushing. “Oh, would you look at the time. I’d best be going now. Take care everyone, and may you all have a good evening!” Olivia waved to the crowd as she and Basilio walked through the room’s doors and disappeared from sight.
“Wasn’t that something to remember?” the announcer said. “What spectacular dancing techniques! I’ve personally never seen anything as good as that! We’ll have to invite Miss Olivia back here one day. And now, with that event past, it’s time for the final act of our night, it’s time for our famous “Dancing with the Stars”! Here you may come up to the dance floor yourselves if you like and you may dance with your partner, or you may go solo and show the rest of us what you got!” Lissa gasped in excitement upon hearing this while Chrom seemed to get nervous.
“You hear that Chrom?” Lissa squeaked in joy. “We can go up there and dance with each other! Isn’t that great?”
“Yeah, I suppose so,” Chrom said, not so excited about the ordeal, and Lissa noticed it too.
“What’s wrong Chrom?” Lissa asked her brother.
“It’s just that…well, I’m not a very good dancer. Everyone says that I have two left feet, even Emmeryn thinks so as nice as she puts it. I’ve been practicing with sis and she says that I’m making progress, but I’m not sure if I’m good enough for regular dancing.”
“Oh it’s not that bad,” Lissa assured Chrom. “We can just do the classic dance if you want. That’s not too complicated or anything. I’ll even help you out if you’re not sure.”
“Really?” Chrom asked.
“Totally!” Lissa replied. “C’mon, let’s go on up before it gets too crowded with other people.”
“O-okay…” Lissa led Chrom by the hand from their table and towards the large dance floor where others stood. Some of the other patrons simply stayed in their seats and opted to enjoy their food and the other patrons dancing. Chrom and Lissa stepped on to the stage and found an open spot for them to dance with each other. Much to Chrom’s relief the announcer didn’t bother to put him and his sister on the spotlight a second time; he was sure that he’d embarrass himself but he didn’t need others seeing it.
“So, I just hold you like this?” Chrom quietly said to Lissa as he took one of her hands and wrapped his other arm around Lissa’s waist.
“Uh-huh,” Lissa said reaching her free arm up to Chrom’s parallel shoulder. “Now we just move our feet together back and forth like this…” The princess one her feet in one direction with Chrom mimicking her movement, then she moved her other foot over and Chrom followed suit. Next Lissa slightly turned her body clockwise and moved her feet back in the other direction, with Chrom carefully imitating his sister’s movements. Lissa repeated the motions a few more times and Chrom did his best not to mess up.
“You’re doing pretty well!” Lissa complimented.
“Thanks,” Chrom said.
“Alright folks, let’s get this started!” the announcer said, right before the composer signaled the next song: an instrumental of “Skyfall” began to play in the background and everyone began their dances. Though everyone recognized the song almost immediately, having heard it in a James Bond play sung by Adele, they decided not to question the reason behind the song being used. It was a beautifully orchestrated song but it didn’t really feel like a song that one would dance to, rather a song that symbolized tragedy.
“Huh, weird that they’re using this song,” Lissa noted as she and Chrom danced to the rhythm of the song. “Oh well.”
“It’s been a long time since we did something like this hasn’t it Lissa?” Chrom asked Lissa.
“What do you mean?” Lissa said in confusion.
“It’s been a long time since we held each other like this, so close.”
“Yeah, it has been a while hasn’t it?”
“Last I remember we would hold each other tight when we still shared our bedrooms,” Chrom said.
“I remember those times,” Lissa said, wistfully reminiscing of their younger days. “I used to be so scared to sleep by myself and ran to your room, crying to you to protect me.”
“Heh, I used to promise you that I would always love and protect you no matter what, after that you’d cry a little more and then calm down before you fell asleep in my arms. That all stopped when you started screaming about ‘boy cooties’ sometime when you turned eight.”
“Hey!”
“You eventually stopped worrying about cooties, but you never did come back to spend a night in my room.”
“That was because I was old enough to sleep in my own room,” Lissa remarked. “That and I wasn’t scared to sleep by myself anymore. In fact, I actually wanted to start sleeping by myself.”
“Of course,” Chrom said, “but then you started visiting me less and less. I often wondered what it was that you were doing and would drop by your room every now and then to check on you and see how things were going. It got to a point where unless we were both with Emmeryn I never really saw you.”
“Huh…I guess I did stop visiting you,” Lissa said.
“I’m not sure if it kind of got a little worse or not when you made friends with Maribelle,” Chrom spoke. “I mean, you still talked to me as much as we did before you met Maribelle, but it almost seemed like the bonds we had weren’t really all there anymore. I suppose that we were close mostly because you were young and growing up, and that once you were old enough you didn’t need that closeness now that you’ve matured a bit. I didn’t want to think it was because you were losing interest in me. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy having Maribelle around and she’s a dear friend, but I was worried that you’d someday replace me with her.”
“What?” Lissa said in surprise. “I’d never replace you, not with Maribelle, not with Emmeryn, not with anyone. I could never abandon you, really. You’re my big bro Chrom, and no matter how much we might get on each other’s nerves I still care about you.”
“I can see that,” Chrom chuckled. “I know that you care for my wellbeing and everything, but I had doubts about whether or not you—”
“Stop,” Lissa said while placing a finger over Chrom’s lips. “You know that I’d never forget you. We’re family, Chrom. We stick up and watch out for each other, we laugh, cry, and bleed together, and we always stand up for each other no matter what. Even if it looks like we might leave each other, it’s never for too long. Even if Naga herself tried to take us away from each other, we’d still be a family.” Lissa pushed herself up against her brother and smiled as she danced with him. “I’ll always be there for you Chrom, and for Emmeryn.” ‘You may not know how much I love you big bro, but you will in due time.’ Lissa didn’t say anything else, letting the music in the background and her words sink in. Chrom himself didn’t say anything either, but he wrapped his arm around Lissa and held her closer, tighter to him.
“I’ll always look out for you as well,” Chrom declared quietly. “You and Emmeryn are my top priority, even amongst our own people. I’d do anything to make you happy.”
“Anything?” Lissa asked, a hint of humor returning to her.
“Anything within reason of course,” Chrom said with a smile.
“Oh I can be reasonable alright,” Lissa playfully replied. It was then that the pair was past words for the moment and simply wanted to stay within the other’s embrace for the remainder of the dance. They momentarily gave way to their thoughts about their dear sibling.
‘That’s right Chrom, never forget that I will always love you,’ Lissa thought. ‘I love you more than you can imagine right now. Though I hope that by tonight, we will finally be beyond big brother and little sister…’ Lissa’s hand slipped from Chrom’s shoulder and found itself square on his chest.
‘Don’t ever believe for a second that I'd leave you to fend for yourself Lissa,’ Chrom thought. ‘If you ever need someone to lean on, you can always lean on me. I’ll be there for you through whatever the world may throw our way…’ Chrom’s own hand slipped from Lissa’s waist and found itself right on her derriere. Both of the siblings noticed this right away, and when the fact had slowly kicked in they had immediately stopped their dance in wide-eyed shock. Lissa and Chrom stared at each other for a moment, wondering if what just happened had actually just happened.
“…Was that your…?” Lissa wanted to ask, but the sensation of her love interest (accidentally) lightly groping her butt left her at a loss for words. Chrom on the other hand was nothing short of embarrassed and ready to apologize.
“Gods, I’m really sorry about that Lissa,” Chrom apologized. “I was thinking about how you could always rely on me, then, that happened.”
“It’s…it’s okay Chrom, I’m not mad,” Lissa said. This seemed to calm Chrom’s nerves a little.
“It was a complete accident, and I hope that—wait, you’re not mad at all?”
“No,” Lissa stated. “Even if it’s an accident, I don’t really mind.” This turned Chrom’s fluster complete into confusion, which slowly morphed into realization.
“You mean that you don’t…mind? What’s that supposed to—waiiiit a second…”
“I don’t think I want to wait anymore,” Lissa said, her tone shifting from purely innocent to an ever-so-slightly naughty.
“Lissa, what are you—” before Chrom could get another word out Lissa decided that it was high-time for the two of them to be leaving. With nary a word Lissa grabbed Chrom by his arm and slowly led him from the dancing floor, to their table to gather their belongings, and through the room where other seated patrons were. Chrom had no clue why Lissa was doing all of that for no explained reason. Down the stairs they hurried and out through the club’s door they went, with Lissa thanking the attendant for his club’s services as she ran by. When she had stopped running Chrom had been a very confused man.
“What was that for?” The prince asked, not particularly angry but very much wanting an answer.
“I almost forgot about the hotel!” Lissa said, only revealing part of her true intentions. “I wonder if it’s open yet…” Lissa pulled out the Renais Inn brochure and pretended to look for the open and close times.
“I thought that hotels are always open.” Chrom stated. “And are we really going to a hotel this late?”
“Aw come on Chrom, it can’t be that bad,” Lissa said. “Besides, it’ll be a unique experience for us.”
“What, where they tend to us when we need them? Sounds a lot like back at home.”
“Maybe so, but it’s totally different people and different services! Now come on!” Lissa grabbed Chrom by the arm and led the two of them towards the hotel Lissa desperately wanted to get to. There, she would finally confess to Chrom her true feelings and—hoping to hope—that her affections would be reciprocated.
About half of an hour later, Lissa and Chrom found themselves trotting through a forest of all places in search of the Renais Hotel. Lissa followed the brochure’s directions to a T, with some help from Chrom, and they find themselves near their final destination. That didn’t necessarily make Lissa any less grumpy about the trip on the way there.
“Ugh, seriously, who builds a hotel in the middle of nowhere?” Lissa griped. “Oh well, at least we’re almost—gyah!” The princess almost tripped over a protruding tree branch on the ground. Chrom was right beside her to catch her when it happened. “Thanks Chrom.”
“Honestly, we should have brought some sort of light source with us this far out,” Chrom said as he looked along the ground.
“Urgh, I know! It’s super-dark out here! Chrom, you think you can—”
“No can do Lissa,” Chrom told her. “Trust me, I’ve already to do that once and it didn’t work.”
“Aw, what? That’s totally lame…”
“You know Lissa, you make a good point.” Chrom said.
“About what?”
“Who in their right mind would even consider establishing a hotel this far away from any settled area? I seriously hope that their services can compensate for the trip.”
“You’re telling me!” A light peered through a clearing of tree came into view, and the sibling pair assumed that this was their stop. When they reached the light Lissa’s face broke out into a wide grin while Chrom’s face remained neutral for the most part. Before them was the exact same castle-themed hotel from the brochure, lit up for the night so that any travelers who came by would see it.
“So this’s the Renais Inn?” Chrom wondered aloud. “It doesn’t look bad at all. A little dated in architecture, but it’s fairly well-looking.”
“So what are we waiting out here for!?” Lissa said in excitement. “The bed isn’t gonna sleep on itself you know!”
“The bed?” Chrom questioned. “What be—whoa!” Again Chrom was taken by his arm and practically dragged to the Renais Inn entrance by his excited sister. The prince shot the princess a dirty look but she never saw it, instead rapping on the door for someone to come out and let them in.
“Helloooooo?” Lissa called as she knocked on one of the doors. “Anyone hoooooome?” After nearly half of a minute had passed the princess placed her ear up against the door but she couldn’t hear anything past it. She was about to knock on the doors again until the door itself came flying open, and in the doorway stood two individuals who appeared surprised.
“Oh, hail to you, travelers!” the man greeted. “We apologize for the delay; we didn’t believe that anyone would come out to our humble abode at this time of night, even though this establishment is indeed always open to the public.”
“This is your home?” Chrom questioned. “Isn’t this a hotel of some sorts?”
“It is,” the woman answered. “We work here and live here as the owners of the Renais Inn.”
“As, I see.” Chrom never thought of that; living at your job location wasn’t exactly mainstream but he didn’t question it.
“My name is Siegmund Renais the Third,” the man introduced himself.
“And my name is Sieglinde Renais the Third,” the woman introduced herself.
“Together we—the Renais Twins—run the Renais Inn,” Siegmund spoke. Chrom already had a funny feeling that the two of them were related just from looking at them: Siegmund and Sieglinde shared the same eye and hair color (aqua), skin color, had similar first names and the same surname. The fact that they were named after Lord Ephraim and Lady Eirika’s Scared Twin weapons cemented the fact and it wasn’t surprising seeing how they were the owners of the similarly named Renais Inn.
“Why don’t we come inside and see what you need?” Sieglinde asked. Both Chrom and Lissa wanted to be inside the hotel very much so they easily agreed to that, with the twins leading them inside. The interior of the Renais Inn was decorated with the usual white and gold that the Ylissean royals expected but with an omnipresent theme of aqua and sky blue hues present, and there were two of each type of decoration lined next to each other, from portraits to pottery. It was very evocative of the twinship that Lord Ephraim and Lady Eirika shared with each other in their lifetimes.
“Welcome to Renais Inn sir and miss,” Siegmund cordially greeted. “How may we be of service?”
“We would like to stay here for, um, how many days is okay with you Chrom?” Lissa said.
“Two nights,” Chrom said. “Tonight and the following night is fine with me.”
“Really?” Lissa said in surprise, not expecting Chrom to suggest anything beyond the following morning. “Alrighty then, two nights it is.”
“Okay then, that will be a total of sixty gold. Oh, and if you two are siblings then you receive a ten gold discount.”
“Really?” Chrom asked. “Huh, well we do indeed happen to be siblings. Here are our identity documents.” Chrom and Lissa upon her brother’s cue took out their papers and showed them to the Renais twins, and after they were read they were handed back to their owners as the fifty gold was handed to the hotel owners.
“Many thanks Prince Chrom and Princess Elizabeth,” Siegmund said as he and Sieglinde gave a polite bow.
“Aw come on,” Lissa almost pouted, “just call me ‘Lissa’ ‘kay? ‘Elizabeth’s’ too long and not as catchy.”
“We’ll remember that then, Princess Lissa,” Sieglinde said. “Ooh, it does sound catchier, doesn’t it Siegmund?”
“It does,” the Renais man replied. “Oh, our shift’s almost ending. We’d best guide the two of you to your rooms now.” With the room paid for the Renais twins signaled for Chrom and Lissa to follow them upstairs and into a hallway. The hallway was well lit so that others could see the number on the doors, and Chrom and Lissa were taken to a room at the end. “This entire hotel is soundproofed with magic in specific areas,” Siegmund stated, “such as the rooms being silent from the outside but our patrons from inside can hear for the sake of preserving privacy, you know what I mean?”
“Oh I know what you mean,” Lissa said fully understanding what the man meant.
“The hotel is also enchanted so that if something ever happens our staff will be ready to handle it,” Sieglinde added.
“That’s pretty convenient,” Chrom said as Siegmund opened the room’s door and handed him the room’s key. The room didn’t have a built in light but it got plenty of moonlight shining through from the curtained window and candles on the dressers to both sides of the large bed. The bedroom itself was very spacious with tasteful décor including bed drapes, and it even had its own bathroom.
“Wow, you guys must have worked hard for this room to look like this!” Lissa said.
“Why thank you,” Sieglinde returned.
“We also have special tomes here that allow you to directly communicate with our active staff if you ever need anything,” Siegmund stated, picking up one of said tomes. “You open these tomes here and you’ll get pictures of who’s able to help you at the moment, the pictures of which will be colored as opposed to grayed out. Looks like Miss Latona Rausten is available right now. And to call them you hold your fingers down on their portrait and they’ll answer you within a fairly quick time.”
“Thank you Sir Siegmund and Miss Sieglinde,” Chrom said to the pair. “Remind me to get some of these for the Shepherds.”
“Hah! I hear you on that one!” Siegmund remarked. “If that is all you need, we will bid you a good night’s rest.
“Sweet dreams,” Sieglinde said as she and her twin brother exited the room.
“Thanks guys!” Lissa called out.
“And good night to you two as well,” Chrom said right before the door was closed. He turned to Lissa and spotted her making her way to the bathroom. “What’re you going to the bathroom for?”
“To freshen up for the rest of the night,” Lissa responded.
“Are those Fire-Feroxi Flanks you had earlier starting to get to you?”
“Pfft, as if!” At that moment the door was shut closed, and Chrom was left to himself. He didn’t have anything else planned for the night so he settled with disrobing himself and preparing for bed. Then he looked at the bed; it certainly appeared cozy and he’d be laying in it very soon. With his younger sister Lissa. Whose ass he accidentally groped at the dance and will be sharing the bed with. And who likely forgot to bring sleeping clothes as he did, except for the lingerie she bought and will likely sleep in.
“Oh Gods damnit,” Chrom muttered. “Okay, don’t lose your nerves, you’re just going to go to sleep. Nothing else.” Of course that’s what he told himself, but a part of him was saying otherwise.
‘Wait, what about what Lissa said about “surprising me when everything is said and done”?’ Chrom looked around the room and didn’t find any of Lissa’s belongings anywhere. ‘So she’s got the surprise gift in there with her, making sure I don’t sneak and see what it is before she surprises me. And I don’t see her lingerie either. Maybe I should have made sure that it was appropriate for her to wear first…’ He’d gotten his suit apparel off and was just sitting around in his briefs waiting for his sister to finish up what she was doing.
“Almost done in here Chrom,” Lissa announced, “then I’ll ready for the rest of the night.”
“Take your time,” the prince said back to the princess. Chrom could swear that he could see Lissa’s club dress on the floor through the bottom of the bathroom door, confirming that she indeed completely undressed herself.
‘Okay, don’t go there Chrom,’ the prince mentally scolded. ‘You already touched her…almost bare…arse…and she didn’t get mad at you for that. I’m definitely missing something here. She didn’t mind when I did that on accident and I swear that she said that she wouldn’t have minded even if it was on purpose. Of course that could just be my stupid, perverted mind for thinking that she said that, but even if she didn’t I’d say that she’s been acting a little…oh what’s the word? She’s kissed me more times today than she ever did for the last few years ever since she got over her crush back then…Oh for the Gods’ sake, what am I missing here?’ Chrom really had to think about what had been going on throughout the whole day, and he already once thought that Lissa might have fallen in love with him, but whether that was a valid reason at that point eluded Chrom for a short moment.
“Think Chrom, think,’ the prince told himself. ‘What would make you think that Lissa’s in love with you? I mean, there was the freak-out over the Risen incident. The kisses she gave me, I can’t forget about those. Then there’s the surprise gift that she purchased at the jeweler’s. And then there was that trickster dandy…and when I carried her to the club…and all of the things we did with each other while we waited for the club to open…’ Now that Chrom’s brain was finally churning out logic beyond its usual parameters for once, Chrom was coming to a slightly uncomfortable conclusion. ‘The club that Lissa took us to was called “Hall of Crossing Stars” and I know what the “crossing stars” part means. And last but not least there was that little slip up…Lissa’s acting a lot like she did when she was…’ When realization finally dawned on the man the only thing he could do was rest his palm upon his face for how obvious it was and how he never seemed to notice it until that moment. ‘Oh dear Gods above…how did I not see this before? She’s been in love with me the whole time and I was too dense to see it. Gods, what do I do? What do I say to her?’
“Ready or not…” Lissa suddenly announced from inside the bathroom door, mustering her last ounce of confidence. ‘No more dragging him around in the dark. I’m coming out of hiding, here and now…’ “Here I come!” With her usual flair Lissa threw the door open and found her almost naked brother sitting on the edge of the bed, waiting for her.
Chrom’s eyes were not as comically wide as they sometimes were, but it was worth noting that the Lissa standing in front of him almost looked like a different person. Gone was the gold, green, and white sage robes that Lissa regularly wore and so was the dress she wore to the club, and in their place was a two-piece white and gold lingerie set that hugged her small body in all the expected places. Bare gloves and stockings clung to her arms and legs, showing of her bare hands and feet painted with emerald-green nail polish. One of her hands was kept behind her, most likely holding the surprise gift.
“So, whaddya think Chrom?” Lissa asked in her usual demeanor. Chrom himself was rendered unable to think beyond what he was seeing. “Hey, I picked this out for you ya’ know? So I expect at least a few words on how you think it looks.”
“You—you bought this for…me?” Chrom asked, still processing the sight of his younger sister in lingerie.
“Of course,” Lissa said. “I’m actually kinda glad that you didn’t come into the store with me to pick this out, otherwise it wouldn’t have been a surprise.”
“Wait, so this was supposed to be a surprise for me the whole time?”
“Yup, and that’s not all I got you.” Lissa pulled out her other arm from behind her and held a dark blue box out towards Chrom. “This is the surprise gift I got for you from the jeweler’s. Hopefully you comment on this gift since you didn’t for my teddies.”
“Wha—oh, erm…it looks…really nice on you. Really.” Chrom was being honest but he couldn’t help how awkward this was for him.
“Awww, really bro? What about the back?” Lissa turned around and showed off the back of her lingerie set, even posing while Chrom looked on. If Chrom’s face had ever been close to a deep shade of red this degree, he’d set a new record upon seeing Lissa’s backside. Lissa would make his face burn even more when she poked her rear out more and gave it a light rub.
“It’s—um—”
“Cute huh?” Lissa asked. “It’s really nice how snug it is, don’tcha think?”
“I…guess so.”
“Well, that’s enough of that,” Lissa said, finished with the teasing. “Go on! Open your gift. I’m not gonna wait all night.”
“R-right.” Chrom took in a breath and opened the blue velvety box and inside was a small ring, something he half-expected given the box shape. The ring wasn’t in the colors he thought it would be in: it was gold with a single emerald gem in the center, and when he looked to the underside it had ‘Lissa’ carved into it. He looked into Lissa's face for an answer behind the ring.
“Why don’t you put it on and see how it fits?” Lissa suggested while smiling as wide as she could without looking creepy.
‘Is…is this supposed to be a marriage ring?’ Chrom thought as he looked at the ring one more time. ‘I guessed that she got me a ring but a marriage ring? Well, I guess it can’t hurt to put it on and try it out at least…’ The prince slipped on the golden piece of jewelry on his left finger, noting how easy it slid on, and inspected it for a brief moment. Lissa squealed in sheer delight that it was about a perfect fit.
“Would you look at that? It’s a perfect size,” Chrom commented. Whoever carved the jewelry must have been a master craftsman. And before Chrom could even take the ring off Lissa crawled onto Chrom’s lap without warning and attacked his lips with hers for the first time in their lives. After a straight ten seconds of lip lock Lissa pulled away from a very much surprised Chrom and she wore a very satisfied expression on her face.
“I’ve been waiting to do that all day,” Lissa whispered.
“What—what was—”
“I love you Chrom,” Lissa finally said to Chrom after waiting for the perfect opportunity. “Cross my heart and hope to die, I love you more than anything else Chrom.”
“What, Gods, what made you want to tell me this now, so suddenly?” Chrom said. He’d finally gotten the confirmation from his own sister’s mouth but he was still in great disbelief.
“I wanted us to be as private as we could be for me to tell you,” Lissa said to him, “and I’m tired of keeping it a secret form you. The ring I gave you, even if everyone else leaves you, that ring is a reminder that no matter what happens to us that I will always love and cherish you. It’s like a good luck charm.”
“Or a wedding pact of some sort,” Chrom pointed out.
“Mmm yeah, I guess that works too.”
“Well, if that’s the case…I think it’s about time we understood each other better.”
“What do you mean?”
“This is what I mean.” ‘Dear Naga, our hallowed mother above, please forgive me and Lissa for the great sin of love and lust we shall commit…’ “No more words need be spoken after this…” Just as Lissa had done to him before, Chrom cupped his sister’s face and dove in for the kill, pressing his mouth against hers and reciprocating his younger sister’s affections. The gesture had caught the princess entirely off guard not having expected it but she fully welcomed it all the same, melting into the loving embrace. ‘For this is the only great sin I will ever commit—’ Chrom monologued to Naga one last time right before plunging his tongue into Lissa’s mouth, ‘—that I will have no regrets for.’
‘Oh Gods yes!’ Lissa screamed in her mind. ‘Take me Chrom, make me yours!’ Chrom’s tongue began a cautious dance of dominance with Lissa as they sat with one another on their hotel bed, going slow due to prior inexperience. Chrom had noticed the still present taste of Lissa’s Fire-Feroxi Flanks on her tongue, and the taste in conjunction with the sexual feels of their act began driving the prince wild, increasing his speed in response. Lissa liked where the moment was headed and she too went faster in an attempt to match Chrom’s pace. In their frenzy the siblings fell onto the sheeted mattress and ended their minor skirmish in a huff. Both Chrom and Lissa shared a hearty laugh after that and stared at each other.
“That was pretty fun huh?” Lissa said smiling.
“It was,” Chrom said, “but that’s nothing compared to what comes next.”
“Oh you know it,” Lissa agreed. Wasting no time Chrom rolled over onto the center of the bed and Lissa laid on top of him, their stomachs touching each other’s. Lissa didn’t face Chrom however, instead rotating herself until her fanny was in his face and his crotch was in hers. “Still hungry Chrom?” Lissa asked her brother. “I’ve got some fresh ‘Lissa pie’ with your name on it~.”
“As if you even need to ask me,” Chrom told her while sliding her panties aside, “and I think my rapier needs a good spit shine. Are you up for it?” He didn’t get a vocal answer, but the answer he did get was very enthusiastic; Lissa shoved Chrom’s boxers past his knees and took in the sight of his erect manhood.
“Not bad,” Lissa complimented. “I’ve read tons of stories at some reading clubs that had guys with oversized penises. Good Gods do those people have extreme tastes…but you’re just the right size for me.” Lissa outright skipped the handjob and went straight to sucking her brother off, and not long after that Chrom flung his own tongue into the her pretty pink pie. Lissa shuddered at the feeling but she kept at her blowjob, adding a massage to the family jewels for extra pleasure measure. Lissa knew what she was doing having practiced with Maribelle in secret; Chrom on the other hand was a total virgin so he took things slower tan Lissa did. The princess didn’t mind him starting slow and steady though she hoped that he would take the plunge deeper inside her soon. For several minutes the two siblings kept up their rhythm, occasionally taking breaks to breathe and savoring as much of the moment as they could like they were starved of the other. Chrom in particular was nearing his limit and he had a feeling that Lissa had done something like this before.
“Gods Lissa,” Chrom called out a little out of breath, “you had to have practiced this before…”
“Mmm-hmm,” Lissa replied to Chrom.
“Have you…ever practiced with anyone el—”
“Mmm-mmm,” Lissa replied while shaking her head no.
“Oh, well—ah!” The princess gave Chrom’s family jewels a gentle squeeze without stopping the polishing she was giving his rapier. Much to her relief Chrom resumed eating her out and took the hint to speed it up. Chrom was rather enjoying tasting his sister’s pie, making a point of thoroughly lapping at every square inch of it and digging in to her farther to get more of her.
‘Atta—ooh, attaboy Chrom,’ Lissa thought. ‘Eat your little sister out like a good big brother would…’ Lissa jumped in delight when Chrom’s tongue ghosted over her cherry. The prince himself stopped at this, wondering what it was he had done, and repeating the process gave Lissa another twitch of pleasure. Smirking intensely Chrom began his assault anew on Lissa’s intimate spot, getting a tad bolder with his actions. He gave the button a suck, followed by more licks with more pressure put into each successive one to build up pleasure, and then the prince gave Lissa’s clit a tiny nibble, twisted it as careful as he could, and applied his tongue to the bud while his teeth held it in place. This was too much for the teenaged princess and she released his cock from her mouth.
“Ah~!” Lissa moaned out. “Oh sweet Naga Chrom, just like that!” Chrom obliged and began pulling her clit ever-so-slightly in different directions and even towards him, remaining as careful as possible; he was thankful that Lissa had stopped her blowjob otherwise he could have accidently lost himself and committed a very horrible accident. Lissa just kept moaning out words of pleasure mixed in with his name as he kept administering his touch, and Lissa’s own breathing became more frantic as time passed on. When her wails became higher and less coherent Chrom stopped his actions and left Lissa nearly on the verge of climaxing. Obviously Lissa was not too pleased by this.
“Wha—hey Chrom, how come you stopped right there when I was about to come?” the slightly irritated princess questioned as she turned around. “I really hope that this isn’t a prank to get back at me for—” She never finished her sentence by the time Chrom grabbed her and flipped themselves around until the princess was on her back and the prince loomed over her.
“I think I’ve had enough appetizers for a while,” Chrom whispered. “I want to get on to the main course already…”
“Already? You sure you don’t want to try out my vanilla custard?”
“Now’s not the time for dessert, I’m hungry for some food. So, what’s on the menu right now?”
“Okay, this food pun thing is starting to get awkward and old,” Lissa said laughing. “Let’s just start talking normal for right now okay? Maybe some dirty talk?”
“Whatever you say. In that case, you ready to get fucked little sis?”
“Language mister! I know I said ‘dirty talk’ but—oh who am I kidding? Nobody can hear us anyways. Well come on then, deflower me until I’m raw big bro! Give me everything you’ve got!”
“Heh, if you insist!” Chrom could afford to be a gentle man in bed if need be, though it was clear that Lissa was having none of that even though she was a literal virgin. He didn’t want to hurt her but once he began sliding his prick inside of Lissa there was no return. He would take her virginity that night. His cock felt Lissa’s barrier and she braced herself for the inevitable; one strong push and the hymen gave way without much resistance, drawing forth a slight yelp of pain from the girl. Chrom being the gentleman he was pulled out and waited until his sister gave the signal to go again, which she did after ten seconds. Without hesitation Chrom pumped his dick in completely, eliciting the most lust-ridden moan he’s ever heard in his life from Lissa, before he pulled it back and started a rhythm of in-and-out. At least he could get that dance right for the most part within a few minutes without Lissa having to guide him, and the moans that escaped her told him that he was headed in the right direction.
“Ooohhhhh Gooooods…” Lissa drawled out among the wonders Chrom was doing her. ‘I always thought that one’s first time would be the most memorable, but this is like a dream come true!’ “Yes! Keep it coming just like that Chrom!”
‘Lissa sure seems to be enjoying this,’ Chrom remarked to himself. ‘It’s funny how much the right amount of sex can transform some people and make them unrecognizable. She wants it rough eh? Let’s get her in the mood first.’
“‘Deflower you raw’ you say?” Chrom asked Lissa amidst their throaty groans. “I don’t think you’re ready for that yet.”
“…Are you serious?” Lissa said with as much concentration she could being pounded. “I’m not some fine—ah! I’m not some fine china Chrom! You—you know I can handle it!”
“Really now?” Chrom taunted, not slowing down his pace nor lessening the force behind his thrusts. “You already sound like you’re about to blow now.”
“As if!” Lissa shot back, “I’ve got a long ways to go!” Chrom did not doubt Lissa for a second, but he wanted to hear her plead for it. She had been in control for the entire day up until that point, and he was going to get his due.
“I’m not convinced about that for a second,” Chrom lied. “Maybe when you’re older will your delicacy be able to handle a raw fuck.”
“Wha—are you kidding me Chrom!?” Lissa nearly shrieked. She wanted to get off and Chrom was denying her that opportunity, even going so far as to call her delicate. “Are you really kidding me right now!?”
“You can prove it to me right now, and you know exactly what you have to do if you want me to fuck your little cunt ‘til it’s red.”
“What!? What do I have to—oh Gods, what do I have to do!?”
“Beg for it,” Chrom growled out. He saw how Lissa’s face turned from anger to apprehension, and he was going to milk the instance for all it was worth. “You have to beg me to screw you hardcore.”
“Are you fu—augh, serious!?” Lissa could feel some hot rage building up in her. “What am I, your sex-starved strumpet!?”
“Only the biggest of strumpets would ask their own brothers to pound their pussies as such! Your body doesn’t seem like it can handle it; only if you tell it to me right now that you want it as rough as possible will I grant you that pleasure!”
“I can’t—ooh, I can’t believe you would do this to me!”
“Say it…” Chrom ordered her. “Tell me how hard you want to go…”
“Please Chrom,” Lissa started, wanting her first night to have the wildest sex imaginable. “Do me as hard as you can!”
“I can’t hear you Lissa!” Chrom taunted in a sadistic joy.
“Fucking Hell Chrom!” Lissa only ever cursed in private and previous times were very subdued, but Lissa wanted the raw sex so badly. “Wasn’t that good enough!?”
“Louder!” Chrom taunted once more, and his little sister was at her breaking point. “Scream it to me!”
“Naga above have mercy, fuck me as hard as you can Chrom! I don’t care how bad it fucking hurts, I want it tonight! Now!” At the last utterance Chrom finally decided that he had tormented Lissa enough and he abruptly pulled his sword out of her sheath, and Lissa wondered to herself what the Hell had just happened. Looking at her brother’s wicked smile the agitated princess was ready to curse him out until he stopped her.
“You want it that bad huh?” Chrom said. “Well, it’s your lucky night…You want it raw, you’ll get it raw. On all fours Lissa with your pretty little ass towards me.” Hearing those words had Lissa impossibly excited, even in her ravaged condition, and she managed to crawl up to her fours just as her brother instructed. Chrom wasted no further time getting into position and grabbed Lissa’s rear from behind, positioning his cock to enter her a second time. “Cherish this moment Lissa…” Chrom half-told half-warned her, “because you may never get it this wild again…”
A hooded figure walked through the woods in the crisp cool air of the dawn’s beginning, holding a tome in hand and scanning their surroundings.
“Hmmmm…I’m pretty sure that they came through this way…” the figure mused. A clearing in the tree came upon them and they turned to see their destination in view. “This must be it then.” Walking up to the place’s entrance the figure knocked on one of the doors for someone to come out and see them. Not too soon a door opened and a woman in green hair stood in the doorway.
“Hail to you, traveler,” the woman politely greeted.
“Good morning to you to,” the hooded stranger responded.
“How may I be of service to you?”
“I’m looking for two of my companions. Their names are Chrom and Lissa. Pray tell, did they come by here by any chance?”
“Chrom and Lissa, the prince and princess of Ylisse? Hmm, I do recall the Sir and Miss Renais mentioning them after they guided them to their room.”
“Really? Are they still here?”
“They are indeed still here.”
“Phew, thank the Gods I finally found them.”
“Not to be rude, but may I have your name? And could you possibly remove your cowl? It’s for security reasons, nothing personal.”
“Of course miss.” The stranger removed their hood from their face and the woman lightly gasped in surprise once she recognized them.
“You are—”
“Grandmaster Robin of the Shepherds, at your service,” they said with a bow.
“Well met Grandmaster Robin. Do come in, I can show you where your friends are currently staying for the time being.”
“Much obliged miss.” The attendant led the way for Robin to follow her upstairs. Then the two made it to the hallway where Chrom and Lissa’s shared room was. Meanwhile the prince and princess themselves began to stir from their sleep, with Chrom waking up first. The room wasn’t too dark from the lack of a sun to shine through the curtain but it wasn’t bright enough to blind Chrom when he completely awoke. The man had a smile grace his face when the memory of the two’s buck-wild fuck surfaced, and Lissa had just opened her own eyes when he turned to look at his lover.
“Mmmmm, morning Chrom,” Lissa greeted, her voice sounding somewhat hoarse.
“Good morning to you too Lissa,” Chrom replied, kissing the girl on the lips to signify their newly-cemented love.
“That was a wild ride last night wasn’t it?” Lissa said giggling.
“It was.” Chrom said. “That was the wildest ride I’ve ever ridden in my life. And you were sure screaming out loud.”
“I was wasn’t I? Hah, I think I’ve lost my voice for a little bit. Oof, and I’m really feeling the burn in my bottom parts.”
“You wanted it raw you know.”
“I know. Ah, it hurts pretty badly, but it was worth all the pain. So Chrom, how’s it feel to pop a bun in your babe sis’s oven?”
“Pop a bun in your…wait, does that—”
“Yes, that’s what it means. Hee hee, we’re going to be a mommy and a daddy soon~.”
“By the Gods…we’re going to be parents…”
“That’s what I said bro.”
“Heh, to think that my own little sister would be the mother of my children.”
“I’d rather have no one else as the father of my children than you.”
“Likewise Lissa.” ‘Well how about that, we’re going to be parents to a child, or children. That’s crazy. If the others ever heard about they’d…they’d…and there it is…there it is, right there…’ “Oh sweet Naga above…” Chrom let out a troubled sigh at the thought, something that Lissa noticed.
“Something wrong Chrom?” Lissa asked.
“It’s…it’s about us, and the babe.”
“What about us?”
“Lissa, we…we can’t let anyone else know about this. You’re aware of that right?”
“Y-yeah…” Lissa did not like where the conversation was headed.
“We…Lissa, do you have any ideas—any ideas at all—on where you might want to live if worst comes to worst?” Chrom already figured that at that point in time they we’re very much up to their throats in a potentially tragic scenario.
“I…I never really thought about that part…” Lissa admitted. “I mean, I sort of knew what I was getting myself into going after you, and now that we’ve come this far…”
“I know Lissa, and I have no intention of going back after how far we’ve made it. But we have to look at what's now. You’re going to have a babe or babes soon, and it will show in due time. If we’re fortunate either no one will find out who the father is or they’ll still be accepting of the situation. If worst comes to worst however, we may have to move somewhere else where we can live out our days in peace, potentially away from everyone we know. We may even have to start new lives, and it would pain me greatly to have to abandon almost everyone else I care for…but no matter what happens I’m staying with you, up to whatever bitter end there is for us.”
“Me too Chrom…hug and kiss?”
“…Hug and kiss.” The brother and sister couple wrapped around each other and gave a reaffirming kiss of where their loyalties were. And right in the middle of their session a knock came at their door. They figured that it must have been either Siegmund and Sieglinde or Miss Latona. Unfortunately for them, one of the last people they’d want in on their relationship had come for them.
“Chrom, Lissa?” Robin’s voice came from behind the door. “Are you awake?”
“It’s Robin,” Chrom whispered.
“Robin?” Lissa said as low as possible. “What’re they doing here?”
“More importantly how did they know that we’re here?”
“Maybe they won’t bother us if they think that we’re sleep?
“If you guys are awake and can hear me, I’m coming in.” Robin said. A jingling of keys could be heard and the siblings wondered how Robin could get a key to their room.
“Quick, pull down the curtains!” Chrom said.
“Already on it!” Lissa replied. In record time the siblings managed to get the bed curtains draped over them before the door knob twisted open and the door gave way to an entering Robin. And right before they stepped inside Chrom and Lissa laid their bodies flat on the mattress and pretended to be sleep. The grandmaster entered the room and saw that the bed was covered, most likely to shield the royals from unwanted light.
“Oh, they must still be asleep,” they said in relief. “I can see some of their clothes on the ground, Lissa robes, Chrom’s…suit? I didn’t know he had a suit, and I see…what in the—” Robin was questioning whether or not they were really seeing what they were seeing. Chrom’s boxers were tossed aside next to what looked like lingerie, and walking over to investigate the article of clothing showed that the panties had a stain at the bottom. It wasn’t a piss stain either. “Did Lissa wear this?” Robin wondered. It was in her favorite colors and in her size, but Lissa actually wearing something of the sort did not seem right to Robin. And the fact that it was found with her brother’s underwear—including just about every article of clothing—smelled of something fishy. They decided to check up on the pair of siblings and found a sight that they didn’t expect to see. Chrom and Lissa were sleeping in close proximity with each other, both of them had messy hair, and Robin could even see Lissa’s bare back from the sheets not covering her completely. Pulling the sheets down to make sure that the two royals were okay, Robin was met the sight of a naked Lissa and Chrom, complete with what appeared to be a ring on Chrom’s finger. On reflex the prince and princess jumped from the sudden action and faced the Grandmaster with nervous faces.
“Oh, hey there Robin,” Chrom said. “What’re you doing here?”
“What’s going on here?” Robin asked the royals. “Somebody please tell me what’s going on because I’m getting some uncomfortable vibes from this whole scene right here.” The grandmaster had just about found the two of them out and as much as Chrom didn’t like it he felt that Robin at least needed to hear the truth since they walked in on them.
“It’s a long story,” Chrom sighed, “and you might not like it, but…here’s what actually happened…”
The trio of Chrom, Lissa, and Robin said their goodbyes to the Renais Inn keepers (with Chrom and Lissa getting some of their gold back for not staying two nights) and made the trip back to Ylisstol Palace, with Robin taking the lead. Chrom and Lissa were back in their usual attire of armor and robes and had their weapons drawn in case of an attack, but neither of them felt much of doing anything else until they were back home and ready to march out to the border pass with their elder sister Emmeryn, whom Robin had told Chrom and Lissa was worried sick about the two of them. Everyone was rather worried about them and wondered where the two had disappeared to after Chrom’s Risen incident.
“So yeah,” Robin said, “that’s everything that happened in a nutshell. Frederick even issued a search party to find you guys.”
“We completely forgot about the march,” Chrom groaned. “We finally had a day off from the fighting and, well…”
“I know,” Robin said. “…So, what do the two of you plan on doing from here on out?”
“Excuse me?” Chrom asked.
“I mean as in the two of you now being a couple and all of that, even expecting childbirth sometime soon. Have you guys considered where you’re going to take this next?”
“We’re working on that,” Chrom said. “I’m not really sure myself what we’d do in the worst-case scenario. Otherwise I guess that we’ll just do what we’ve been doing, aside of looking after our extended family of course.”
“I see…”Robin still couldn’t believe it; their closest friends ended up going that far with each other no less. They said that they had no regrets about their decision and would stick together regardless of what happened to them, though Robin wasn’t that forgone to believe that nothing bad would happen. Lissa would start showing signs of pregnancy soon, and when the babe was born they’d have Chrom’s telltale blue hair, a color that could not be found anywhere else. Relations of that degree between families were not looked upon kindly, and Robin didn’t want the two of them to end up in tragedy. If it ever came to it, Robin would be there for them to help them through it all.
“Can you keep a secret Robin?” Chrom asked.
“Depends on the secret in question.” Robin told the prince, though they had a feeling they knew what Chrom would ask. “But go on, tell me what it is.”
“If anyone asks about me and Lissa being together as a couple…” Chrom trailed off hoping that Robin understood him.
“I know Chrom,” Robin said, “and don’t worry. If I can help it, I’ll make sure that no one else finds out.”
“Really? Chrom asked.
“Of course Chrom,” Robin assured. “You two are my friends, and I’d do anything I can to protect you. You and the babe.”
“…You have my thanks Robin.”
“You’re welcome.”
“Hey Robin,” Lissa finally spoke.
“Yes Lissa?” they answered.
“You wanna be the godparent?” Lissa asked causing the grandmaster to laugh.
“Of course Lissa,” they said smiling.
Author’s Departure Notes: and that finally concludes Family Matters. This took way too much time to do; the first time I actually had this almost finished I somehow accidentally deleted it and I was just so angry about it that I put it off until I was in the mood to restart it. I’ve gone through so many different endings and eventually settled on this one, the original ending I had in mind; I did consider writing the after years but I soon decided against it, instead just wanting to stick with what I originally planned (I may write that as a semi-sequel but that's not on my mind right now). Never again am I going to use a tablet to write a story, and with this one finally finished I’m going to work on the rest of my entries; also, please excuse the wrong tags being entered (anal, fingering, rim). I do hope you enjoyed this story and I’ll see you the next time I post an entry; this is Blue Sun Studios signing off the air!
