Okay, and it seems that this is the final chapter of this project. Not sure whenever it might be a good conclusion, yet, it seems that I cannot write brute stuff (unfortunately, I'm no BARALAIKA or any decent writer, who can mercilessly hammer-smash anyone or harm T^T. I'm just same ol' Mina...)

Finally, the long-awaited day arrives.
For now, the blonde doctor walks to the kitchen. However, just when she thought about making a cup of coffee, Shiro showed up and asked her to leave it to him.
It even surprised her how he puts extra effort and prepares breakfast for her.
Of course, when the brunette makes such innocent and adoring eyes, Makishima couldn’t decline. Although eating and restoring her strengths is the least important thing on her mind.
In the end, the blonde scientist forces herself to take a few bites, and it concerns Shiro ‘‘Do you not like it?’’.
Makishima shakes her head and lowers her gaze ‘‘No, I don’t have an appetite. Perhaps, I’ll finish it later.’’. Lastly, she addresses the brunette while giving a bitter-sweet smile ‘‘Shiro, could you leave me alone for a bit? I need to think about something.’’.
‘‘Did I upset you, Mother?’’ He asks in a worried tone.
After the blonde leans closer to the prototype of the clones, she ruffles his hair ‘‘No, it’s not your fault. So, don’t worry about me, Shiro. I’ll be fine.’’.
The brunette only naively stares at his adored mother ‘‘If you say so. Then, I’ll tidy the house before Kyo shows up and prepare lunch for Yagami-san. That’s right, he doesn’t like hospital food, so Kyo asked me to cook for him.’’.
When Makishima is left alone, she places her elbows on the table and rests her head on her palms.
No matter how the blonde wants to avoid seeing the Kusanagi, she cannot run away anymore. She realizes that sooner or later; she needs to face the consequences of her actions. Most importantly, Shiro deserves to know the truth.
A few hours passed, and the peaceful afternoon is disturbed by the sudden ringing of the doorbell.
‘‘Ah, it must be Kyo! I’ll go get it.’’ The brunette leaves the couch while declaring with childish excitement. On the other hand, Makishima widens her eyes and remains stiff.
After the brunette unlocks the door, he greets his original ‘‘You’re here! We’ve been waiting for you.’’.
Yet, the Kusanagi’s heir keeps his serious face ‘‘What is going on, Shiro? And whom did you bring yesterday? Didn’t I tell you not to let strangers inside?’’.
As Shiro steps back, he defends himself in a slightly nervous voice ‘‘Why are mad at me? I did nothing wrong. All I did is just help Mother and let her stay here.’’.
The older brunette widens his eyes and frowns ‘‘You what?! Where is that woman? Show me!’’.
After Kyo passes near Shiro, he storms into the apartment and slams the door. Poor prototype only follows his original having no idea why he acts like this.
When the older brunette reaches the living room and notices the familiar person, he clenches his palms into the fists. Meanwhile, the blonde stands up straight and faces the Kusanagi while keeping a poker face.
Doctor Makishima is sure that one of the most valuable NESTS testing subjects will kill her. Yet, she won’t ask for mercy and already accepts it as her and the other scientists’ punishment for the inhumane experiments and research.
Besides, the blonde is convinced that the Kusanagi has the all right to execute any death or suffering. Nevertheless, she refuses to show any weakness because she feels she cannot be in this position any longer.
Meanwhile, Kyo doesn’t know how to act and has mixed feelings about finally meeting face to face one of the NESTS scientists.
With no doubt, he should feel nothing more than pure hatred and anger towards someone who messed up with his body and mind.
More importantly, this person is also responsible for robbing his innocence, naive hope for a bright future, a year that is supposed to be filled with happy and precious memories. The list could go on and go on.
Of all the things NESTS has done to him, the brunette also cannot forgive for using his body as a tool for nefarious purposes and almost taking Iori away from him.
Of course, part of Kyo tells him he shouldn’t feel guilty about finally venting out what’s been bottling up inside him and having his revenge on that woman.
Yet, the thought of staining his hands with anyone’s blood scares the Kusanagi’s heir. What if he becomes much worse than those he cannot forgive for leaving these scars, which he carries alone for the rest of his life?
More so, the blonde scientist shows him still having a humane side by taking care of Shiro and protecting him from learning about the dark nature of humans. Therefore, that woman kept the sanity of someone unrelated to her.
At the moments like this, Kyo regrets failing not being able to rely on cold-blooded logic and declare his justice.
But for now, neither doctor Makishima nor the Kusanagi speaks to each other. Only Shiro breaks the long and tense pause between them ‘‘Um, is everything okay?’’.
The blonde addresses him in a serious tone ‘‘Shiro, could you leave us alone for a moment? I don’t want to see you my last moments.’’.
Suddenly, Kyo objects ‘‘Listen, don’t use me to run away like a coward. It’s not up to me, you, and anyone else to decide who should live or not.’’.
When he takes a step closer to the scientist, he asks in an indignant tone ‘‘Besides, shouldn’t you at least tell your son about your research and how Shiro and the rest of the clones were born?’’.
The younger brunette interrupts his original in a polite voice ‘‘But Mother told me what NESTS did to her when she released me, and what happened to her during the incident when someone broke into the NESTS base. Kyo, you have to understand that after she escaped the lab, she had nowhere to hide from the NESTS capturing her, me, or even you! So, she told us more than enough to believe her, and we need to help her.’’.
Such an explanation did not affect the Kusanagi’s heir, and he asks Shiro ‘‘And why do you think an organization like NESTS wants here back? They wouldn’t move even a single finger if that woman wasn’t useful or didn’t know too much, right?’’.
‘‘These bad people just wanted Mother’s knowledge and work for evil purposes! They even treated her poorly after she helped me to escape!’’ The younger brunette backfires.
However, Kyo leaves another avalanche of questions ‘‘Shiro, did you know why are you created? Should I tell you? Or do you prefer to hear that coming from a twisted person like that woman?’’.
After Kyo turns his gaze towards the blonde, he addresses her ‘‘So, how is it, doctor? Will you tell Shiro about your task of creating a massive amount of biological warfare to take over the world? Or about your non-consensual methods to get the material for cloning?’’.
Meanwhile, Shiro only stares in disbelief as he follows their dialog.
Instead of slapping the Kusanagi’s face, Makishima fixes her glasses and stings him with a cold and harsh reply ‘‘You’re talking as if I was the only scientist in the entire NESTS facility. Yes, I got the orders to make them. When I got the needed material to work with, I needed to track their growth process and whenever any of them are considered defective and should be terminated. Of course, I knew for what purpose we produce them. However, I wasn’t responsible for how you got into NESTS, nor what trials you went through.’’.
As the blonde holds her hand on her torso, she continues to explain ‘‘According to my read records and the research team members, at first you refused to cooperate with them when you were asked nicely. Then, the next day, the same group of scientists asked you again, and you changed your mind. So, nothing wasn’t supposed to be done without your consent. More importantly, I heard you were resisting and extremely violent towards the staff. Therefore, they had to use the drastic measures to calm you down.’’.
Lastly, she adds while giving a piercing gaze ‘‘After learning that you are this dangerous, I doubted if Shiro should see on whom he is based. Even when we saw you drugged and unconscious, I didn’t know what to say to him. I begin to question myself - What must you have done to get shut down like this? How does this weakened child possess any threat and was a massively destructive weapon? I thought that this time my colleagues went too far, even on a testing subject.’’.
The more Kyo listened to Makishima’s story, the more he wishes to punch her in the face. However, before the brunette grabs her by the shirt, the prototype catches his arm. While Shiro holds his arm, he pleads ‘‘Please, stop! I won’t allow you to hurt my Mother!’’.
In the end, the Kusanagi lowers his head and grinds his teeth. He cannot hold his emotions any longer ‘‘YOUR MOTHER FUCKING RAPED ME!’’.
Even the doctor gets alerted while the younger brunette is shocked. After Kyo shakes off his arm from his replica’s grasp, he speaks up despite how hard the words stuck inside his throat ‘‘While that woman lazily waited for so-needed samples, I got humiliated in front of many eyes. Some of them were laughing at me as I struggled and begged to stop. ‘‘Consensual agreement,’’ she says… What kind of fucking joke is that? How does getting drugged and stripped count as that?! Even if that awful woman says she did not know what I went through, I won’t forget this! Why didn’t you die in that accident?’’.
The blonde feels guilty for what happened to the Kusanagi’s heir, who is trembling and holding back from bursting into the tears. Although she realizes Kyo is right - not knowing about what’s been happening behind your back doesn’t make you innocent, nor remove the responsibility.
However, she remains silent as she observes how Shiro hugs his original and refuses to let him go, no matter how he tries to fight back for the moment.
In the end, the younger brunette is in denial, but he asks his mother ‘‘Is that the truth, Mother? Did these terrible things happen to Kyo? Please, tell me that this is a lie.’’.
The blonde only swallows the saliva and confirms ‘‘I’m sorry, but Kusanagi is right.’’.
Of course, the poor replica feels betrayed and hurt to learn the harsh truth. However, he cannot bring himself to be mad or hold any grudge against Makishima, even if she was involved in all this mess.
For now, Shiro blames himself ‘‘So, ‘Nagi was right. After all, my existence is nothing more than a mistake, which only brings pain and sorrow to anyone I meet… My original went through this suffering so that I would be born. I even ruined your life.’’.
However, before he spiral-downs into much darker thoughts, Kyo pushes Shiro away and places his hands on his shoulders ‘‘Shiro, how many times have I told you not to talk like this! You shouldn’t blame yourself just because you are alive. Hell, you completely forget how you saved me from that vile creature! You even take care of your brothers and someone like Yagami or that woman…’’.
When the older brunette removes his hand from Shiro, he comments on the blonde scientist ‘‘No matter how much I’m mad about what she has done to me, but her death or suffering won’t make me any happier or forget about these left scars. I hate to admit it, but I want your mother to live as long as possible so that she can repent for what she has done in the past by helping others. Because this is the only right way, I think. ’’.
Lastly, the Kusanagi addresses Makishima in a determined voice ‘‘So, you better not try to die on my watch! Because I won’t forgive you if you pick the easiest path of learning nothing. Besides, no matter what kind of cruel woman you are, Shiro seems to care a lot about you.’’.
Of course, the blonde doesn’t expect to hear these words, yet she feels relieved somehow hearing them. Despite that, she objects ‘‘What can I even do if I am nothing more than a wanted criminal with no name? I cannot walk in the daylight like a normal person.’’.
As Kyo rubs his nape, he replies ‘‘I can’t let you stay here any longer either. After all, Yagami will be discharged from the hospital tomorrow, and if he learns who you are, he will murder you in a cold blood. So, today, you would need to go with me. If you’ll get on my mom’s good side, she will convince my dad to hire you as a housemaid until you’ll stand on your feet. Perhaps, in the meantime, you could work out having a new name.’’.
Makishima wanted to cry from the happiness, yet she only smiles and bowed ‘‘Thank you. Perhaps these reports about you were false. So, I was wrong about you.’’.
In the end, such a decision also makes Shiro happy. However, he is also worried and excited that Kyo will make sure his parents will adopt him as a new family member. But for now, the Kusanagi needs to think about how he will tell about his replica and this woman. I might be challenging this time, yet Kyo is ready to take any risk.
A/N: Not sure if this gonna be the last project for the clone series, but we'll see.
Perhaps, next month, I would be more focusing on OTL content like orochixgoeniko or even working on my first bliss!iorixbliss!kyo (maybe even bliss!shingo(shingomi)xbliss!kyo) fic...
Who knows, perhaps, time will tell...
*sigh* not sure if anyone would want epilogue chapter for this story, which may just focus on Kyo visiting Iori in the hospital before he'll gets discharged... I may work on it, but if anyone is fine and tells so.
