Planet YS7-23, GFDate 4034:0603Damara had once heard that one of the worst things that could happen to a person was meeting one of their heroes. She couldn't remember who had said it, or when it she had heard it said. Early in her life, she thought, back before her life had been destroyed. She hadn't understood the reasoning then, but as she matured she understood – people built their heroes into impossible icons, ideas that could not help but disappoint.
However had coined that phrase had never before considered someone like Samus Aran.
The golden haired warrior had been trapped and abandoned on a world that had stripped her of everything and abused her in ways that battered her identity, her dignity, the very core of her identity – and yet after all this she stood strong and Damara was the one on the run.
Damara was armed with a top of the line pulse pistol, the sort favored by the Federation Military for its reliability and accuracy. Samus was armed with something she had cobbled together from broken robot parts. Damara should have been winning this running gun battle.
“She should be broken. Broken,” Meslissa hissed, holding her mother. The three of them were crouched down behind scrap metal, Damara doing her best to return fire, to pinpoint a location, but Samus Aran kept moving her point of attack with a speed that Damara found initmidating.
“We're going to lose this,” Damara said, keeping her tone matter-of-fact. “She's too fast for human. Void, she's too fast for most aliens I know.”
“That would be a result of the Chozo gene-therapy,” Madeline muttered. She was fiddling with some wire, all her attention focused there. Damara caught her friend's eye, but the scientist had her head down, the ghost of a smile crossing her features, and it was clear that not even Melissa knew what she was doing. “We never could figure that out.”
“What about telepathy?” Damara asked, ducking around to return fire and returning to cover just in time to avoid being shot right between the eyes. As it was, the energy blast burned some of her hair.
“Chozo technology has a psychic component,” Melissa growled. “I could read her thoughts when she was distracted, but now...?”
“What do we do?” Damara asked.
“I'm trying to get some Kaayes in place, find out where she actually us, but she's killing them as quickly as I bring them in,” Melissa said, shouting over the pulse-fire that seared air and metal. “I have a plan. I need time.”
“How long?”
“Fifteen minutes?”
“We're dead in ten, the way things are going.”
“Let me help.” Melissa and Damara looked at Madeline – she was looking up at them with a wide grin. “Damara, dear, you may want to put down your weapon.” Without explaining why she might want to do this, the older woman connected two wires and then looked very pleased with herself.
Nothing happened for a very long moment.
A dull hum followed, and Damara very carefully put her weapon on the ground.
Moments later, green lightning began blasting from the ruined machines all around them.
Planet YS7-23, GFDate 4034:0603The hum was surprising. Glancing around, Samus tried to determine where it was coming from and came to the unsettling conclusion that it was coming from everywhere around her. Tightening the grip on her makeshift pistol, Samus moved from one pile of wreckage to another, edging closer to where her enemies were hiding. The plan was to take out Damara and then MB. Madeline was clearly under some sort of mental affliction, so maybe she would have an ally after all...?
She had looped around back of them, planning an ambush. Smiling, feeling more like herself than she had since she'd crashed on this forsaken hunk of rock, she took a predatory step closer and prepared to reveal herself when she spotted Damara carefully place her pistol on the ground.
What...? Samus edged closer, cautious, ducking close to the earth. The machine-hum escalated, growing more omnipresent before a whirlwind of emerald lightning spiraled all around her. She jumped back, startled, but the lightning didn't appear to be directed at anywhere in particular. It just crackled, searing the air and leaving the scent of ozone cloying her.
I've smelled worse than this, Samus thought, smiling again. She crept closer to her prey, marking them out, was soon standing over them without them even knowing she was there.
Her first blast took Damara in her good shoulder. The other woman screamed and crumbled to the ground, both MB and Madeline turning to look at her with panic writ in their eyes. Words were said, but Samus didn't hear a thing. She felt herself laughing as she lined her next shot at MB when sudden movement caught her eye.
She shot MB in the knee, reveling in the resulting screams as she squinted at the flaring lights. There was something erratically flying out there, something that MB must have called to her aid, but it was impossible to make out in the flickering light.
I want to take my time with the threat in front of me, Samus thought, grimacing. And it's not paying attention to the small things that got me in this mess in the first place. She turned her weapon at whatever it was and pulled the trigger.
She hit the thing square in the center of its body.
It seemed to expand for a moment before it started moving faster, so Samus shot it again. Samus blinked, lining up her pistol carefully as the thing moved closer to her. She fired a third time, saw the thing get less erratic, saw more things just like it moving closer to her.
She could make out details now. Her eyes went wide.
Shit.
A cloud of pulse bombu made their way closer to her, attracted by the lightning storm and now threatened by her attack. The creatures were not smart enough to be psychically controlled. They fed on lightning but would have fund the blast from her pistols irritating and would seek to end the annoyance he presented.
“You utter bastards,” Samus said, throwing her gun at the cloud that was now approaching her. She trained her gun on the trio, firing another blast that one of the pulse bombu devoured before it could hit its target.
They swarmed her, the cloud everywhere. She could almost make out the trio that had brought this latest horror down upon her and struggled to move towards them as a dozen static shocks assaulted her body. She grit her teeth, forcing one foot in front of the other as the static charges run along her thighs, down her spine, along the side of breasts, increasingly targeting her most sensitive areas.
MB couldn't have changed their instincts, could she...? She felt her cheeks flush as the static shocks moved closer to the core of her, her dripping thighs pushing her forward as unwanted gasps escaped her lips. With blurry eyes and short breaths she forced herself to endure the two dozen different electric vibrations assailing the center of her. She dropped to her knees, the bombu still circling overhead, but from down here she could make out the three people she hated most in all the universe.
Her fingers wrapped around MB's ankle as a wave of pleasure threatened to overwhelm her. She bit her lip, keeping her eyes open as every muscle in her body tensed, as a weight settled in her hips and rocked them. She slithered up the clone's body, unable to keep from pressing against it, two conflicting desires devouring the reason of her mind.
Fingers curled around MB's pants, hauling her up past the bloody knee and past the hips. Samus' breasts brushed MB's midriff, their eyes locking, Samus groping a breast, a shoulder, and then the clone's neck. The clone looked at her, terror in her eyes, and Samus felt conflicting hungers pounding her soul as the bombu blasted her with wave after wave of mindbreaking sensation. Both her hands closed around MB's throat even as she ground the point between her legs into the struggling clone.
Dimly, Samus became aware of the fruit-eyes reflected in MB's eyes. She glanced up as her hands tightened, as her core tightened, panting want pressing past her lips and into the storm. There were dozens of the eyes floating around there, all of them looking at her as the clone writhed and scratched at Samus' wrists.
The watching eyes began to glow, their light becoming blinding.
After that, all was darkness.
Planet YS7-23, GFDate 4034:0603Melissa's eyes opened and she was aware of the ache and the weight. The former was from the wound she had suffered that was somewhat mended now. She had instructed the robots to heal her before waking her up, knowing that she lacked the fine concentration necessary to aim the bolt that was to be her salvation.
As for the latter...
Samus Aran was unconscious and on top of her, lying naked and prone, twitching. The pulse bombu were still feasting on her mother's storm, a clever ploy that had worked. Melissa looked at the sleeping form of her mother and giggled, shaking her head as she ran her fingers along the Hunter's naked back, all the way from her hips to the nape of her neck.
Mine. All mine.
She giggled again, closing her eyes and taking a moment to savor this victory.
Melissa had been too panicked to aim the psychic energy she'd harnassed and then magnified through the kaayes, so she'd settled for knocking them all unconscious. The psychic sleep would hold everyone comatose until they were woken by a special concoction of her own design, one she'd asked the robots back at her laboratory to come and administer right before she'd unleashed the blast.
They had, and fixed her leg as best they could. They were doing the same to Damara's hurts. She giggled at her own genius, directed the robots to wake up her friend and then her mother before attempting to push the helpless hunter off of her.
Samus was too heavy for her. When Damara was awake and aware, she helped move their prey over to a corner and fastened her to the carrying harnesses some of the robots were equipped with. She double checked the strength of them, making sure that even if she were to wake up she would not be able to escape.
Her mother went to the transport pad that the robots had rode in on.
“I need you to finish strapping Samus in. Strapping,” Melissa said, hugging her friend. “Have the robots carry her back to the lab. I need to go make sure that Ridley can't find us again.”
“You know how to do that?” Damara asked, looking at the skies.
“Yes,” Melissa smiled. “Take your time getting back. Mother and I will be busy. Busy.”
Melissa glanced in the direction Ridley had taken Brannigan and frowned as she moved to the transport pad. She'd have to send someone to retrieve him after making certain Ridley wouldn't bother them again. It was going to be a busy few hours, but she trusted Damara could keep Samus entertained until they had time for a proper conversation.
