Part 34 - "Magic Can Be A Bitch"

"We should head home..." He said quietly. Navi stretched and got up. "Alright..." She said quietly, changing into her usual fairy-form, flying into Link's hat as he slipped it on. He headed along the passageway, going out into the sunlight once again, heading back in the direction of the Kokiri Woods.
Trekking for most of the day back through Hyrule Field to the Kokiri Woods, Link couldn't help but notice that a large black cloud had formed high in the sky behind him, seemingly growing stronger with every step he took. He would glance at it from over his shoulder every once in a while until he just about reached the entrance to the Kokiri Woods, where he slowed his movements and continuously stared at it. The sky had turned golden from the beautiful sun setting, the fire of the heavens making way for the earth's nocturnal guardian, the moon. When Navi realized that Link was staring at something, she flew out of his hat and circled his head a few times, looking at the cloud and saying "What's up with that cloud? Why's it so dark?" Link quietly said "I don't know..." The cloud suddenly vanished, letting light back into the space it had occupied. A flash of blackness sped towards Link. Link narrowed his eyes. It appeared to be a young woman on a broom, like a witch of sorts. Link quickly realized that she was heading straight for him and didn't seem to be able to stop. Navi realized it as well, worriedly saying "Link, look out!!" Link was about to jump to the side when the woman cried out in shock, seemingly just realizing that Link was in her way.
She rammed into him, toppling over onto him, her broom flying away from her. A large bag she wore spilled open, it's contents flying out all over the ground. Link wasn't able to see what the stuff was, however, as the young woman was lying on top of him, having knocked him to the ground. "Ow ow ow!!" She cried, looking up into his face. "Hey, do I know you from somewhere?.." She said, suddenly sounding calm and subdued. Link raised an eyebrow. She got up from him, her face suddenly looking filled with rage. "Arghhh, my stuff is everywhere!! Fuck!" Link sat up, looking around. Rupees, bombs, arrows, and what appeared to be a few rings were scattered about on the ground, the girl putting her hands on her hips and glaring angrily at Link. "You just bumped into the Great Witch Syrup's apprentice, me, Maple! Now look at all my stuff! It's everywhere! I'm going to be behind schedule now!" Link raised his eyebrows, taking in what the girl looked like.
She seemed to be a couple of years younger than his adult body, but not too many, appearing to be a teenager around the years of sixteen or seventeen. She was a bit shorter than him, her skin light like his but paler than his. Even though she seemed like a young woman, her body's sexually physical growth seemed a bit younger than what her age would usually dictate. Her body wasn't very curvy, but her face seemed rather cute to Link, drawing in his eyes. She wore a long purple dress without any sleeves, the dress going down to her ankles. It didn't hide her orange shoes, however. She wore a bag on her right hip, the strap of it going across her torso to her left shoulder to be secure, being like a messenger bag. She wore a large purple hat, looking much like a stereotypical witch's, being long and pointed at the top. The bottom part, under the brim, was dark crimson in colour. Her hair was short and dark green in colour, also wearing light green eyeshadow and light pink blush on her cheeks. Her fingernails were painted black, causing Link to look at them. She scowled at Link. "I knew I had seen you before, you're that punk that always tries to steal my stuff! But...You look a littler older...Where am I? What's going on?"
Link raised an eyebrow. "I don't know what you're talking about, I've never seen you before. My name's Link and you're in Hyrule." Maple's eyes widened for a moment in shock. "Hyrule? How the hell did I get here?...Last thing I remember was riding my broom back to Syrup's place when I went through a dark cloud...Now I'm here....How is that even possible? Hyrule is miles from Holodrum, I was only in that cloud for a few seconds!" Link shrugged. "Don't ask me, your guess is as good as mine." Maple regarded Link with a fierce look, running over and grabbing rupees from the ground, shoving them back into her bag by the handful. "Touch any of that stuff and you'll regret it!!" She yelled as Link took a step towards a jewelled ring lying on the ground. "I know some pretty crazy magic, alright? Trust me, you don't want to find out what I could do to you!" Link smiled slightly, playfully saying "Oh, really?" Maple angrily took a step closer to Link, loudly saying "Yes, really!!" Link bent over, reaching for the ring. Maple took another step closer to him, pointing at him accusingly. "I don't know that other guy's name, but you look like him and act like him, and trust me, you don't want to! He's annoying, I hate him, don't be like him!"
Link grinned and stood back up. "Sounds like you might secretly like him!" Maple didn't blush, narrowing her eyes as she said "I hate him! That bastard's taken so much of my stuff, it's not even funny! He even took a Piece of Heart from me once! Like, what the fuck is that all about?!" Link shrugged. "Do you like me?" He asked with a small smile. Navi fluttered by his head. Maple blinked, a bit stunned by his question. "...No, you bumped into me!" She said angrily, bending over and grabbing the ring Link was going to take. As she turned around, Link reached his leg out, tapping his foot against Maple's backside, effectively foot-slapping her ass. Maple's eyes shot wide open. Link grinned and laughed softly. Maple spun around, rage on her face. "What the hell do you think you're doing?!" She yelled, shutting her eyes tightly with a bit of blush in her cheeks. Due to her eyes being closed, she didn't notice as Link raced around her, grabbing a few rupees and slipping them into his pockets. Maple turned around, gasping and running up to Link. "Give them back!" She demanded.
Link grinned. His leaned forward quickly, kissing Maple on the forehead. Maple blushed and shoved him away from her, saying "You're worse than the other guy, he's just a mofo, you're...You're like a rapist!" Link's eyes widened, losing any smile he had. "Huh?" He said. Maple stuck her tongue out at him, quickly saying "You're basically a rapist, we just met and you've already touched my butt and kissed me, how do you explain that, huh?" Link smiled. "Sorry, I sort of figured you'd like a kiss or two." Maple glowered at Link, saying "You're stupid..." Link made a face, saying "Whatever you say!...Can't even control your own damn broom, and you're calling me a rapist?..." Maple's face grew grim. "Take that back! I so can control my broom!" Link slanted his lips to the side in a look of disbelief. "Sure. Didn't look that way to me, especially after you ran into me." Maple pointed at him, anger growing clear on her face. "You watch it, buddy...You're starting to really piss me off! Now take it back!" Navi flew around Link's face, quietly saying "Please, Link...Don't start anything with this girl..."
Link smiled at his beloved fairy, saying "I'm just teasing her, and besides, what could she possibly do?" Maple gritted her teeth. "That's it!" She cried in rage. "I'll teach you to mess with a witch!" Link grinned playfully. "Witch's apprentice, actually. You said so yourself." Maple's eyes grew dark with fury. "Arghhhh!" She cried, raising her hands in frustration. "Take this!!" She yelled, blasting a large sphere of pink magic at him. Link's eyes widened. He wasn't fast enough to dodge it, not at the close proximity Maple was to him. It hit him square in the chest, blasting him down to the ground, his mind growing dark for a few moments before he snapped out of his daze. His body felt...Different. He didn't feel small like he would if he were in his child body, but he couldn't explain it, he knew he just wasn't the same. He heard Maple cackle, laughing joyously at him. "It worked! Wow, it actually worked!" Navi made a whizzing noise as she flew by Link's face so quickly, saying "L-Link!...You...You're...!" Link raised an eyebrow, saying "I'm what?" His eyes widened as he realized that his voice sounded light and feminine, sounding much like a girl's. He jumped up to his feet, looking down at himself.
His blonde hair had lengthened a bit, now going down his neck and shoulders, looking smooth and soft to the touch. His tunic top was now being pushed out slightly by his chest, Link apparently having grown breasts. His shoulders were less broad, his hips smaller as well, his body just generally appearing to have lost all masculine features. In a panic, he slipped his right hand down the front of his tunic bottoms, letting out a shout of surprise as he felt he had lost his manhood, quickly pulling his hand out, having felt that his member had been replaced by a woman's lower areas, Link now having a vagina. "What did you do to me?!" He shouted, his voice now sounding like a woman's. Maple grinned mischievously. "I told you not to mess with me, didn't I?" Link's eyes were wide as he said "I didn't think you could turn me into a girl!" Maple smiled. "What's wrong with being a girl?" Navi seemed lost for words. She stammered a few times quietly, but never really let any words leave her mouth.
Finally after a few moments, she swore for one of the rare times Link had ever heard her use profanity, Link believing that that moment in time might have even been the first time he had ever heard her swear. "Holy...Shit..." She muttered, sounding deeply in shock. Link looked at her. "Holy shit is right! Change me back, now!" Maple smiled more. "Maybe I will, maybe I won't. Let me think about it for a bit." Link made a sound of anger and shock at the situation, seating himself down on the ground, lying back on the grass with his arms spread apart. "I'm a freaking girl!..." He exclaimed quietly to himself. He heard Maple slowly and quietly walk closer to him. He shut his eyes. "You better be walking closer to me to change me back..." He muttered loudly. Maple laughed quietly. "Maybe...Maybe not...You'll see..." Link raised an eyebrow, wondering as to why her voice suddenly sounded a bit flirtatious.
Maple walked over and firmly planted her right foot down on Link's stomach, Link looking up at her with narrow eyes. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" He said. Maple smiled. She moved her foot down between his thighs, suddenly pushing her foot down on Link's new genitalia. He closed his eyes in a bit of pain, but was grateful when he realized that Maple wasn't pushing her foot down very hard, being rather gentle. "You're pretty cute, now..." He heard her say. Maple's eyes widened, a smile on her lips. "Where did you get sex from? I was gonna say go on a date maybe, I didn't say anything about having sex. I wasn't even thinking it!" Link raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, right." He said disbelievingly. He began to wonder why he was making such a big deal out of the situation. Normally he'd be fine with it. Now he suddenly felt a bit protective of his body, for some reason. "Like I'd go on a date with you, you turned me into a girl!" Maple smiled sweetly at him. "Listen, spend some time with me and I'll change you back. Where were you headed before you bumped into me?" Link narrowed his eyes, spotting that Maple had said that he had bumped into her and not the other way around. "I was going back to my house in the Woods." He said.
Maple smiled, picking up her broom and the rest of her stuff in a matter of moments. "Alright, well, what do you say we head there? Come on, it'll be fun, we can relax together. I'm not really that mean, you know. It was just that I'm kind of protective of my stuff. But seeing as how I'm so far from Holodrum, I figure I can chill out here for a little and not have it seem weird. I mean, it's gonna take me a few days to fly back anyway, so being here won't be such a big deal." Link nodded gently. "Alright, well...Come on, I'll show you my place." Maple smiled happily and began to walk alongside Link, Navi still stunned into silence, zooming into his long soft blonde hair and into his hat.
At first, Link was still rather angry about being turned into a girl, even though he really couldn't explain why, but after a while he and Maple began to talk in rather friendly tones. She seemed much nicer now that he was a girl, whether it was because she didn't like men or because she felt sorry for making him angry, Link couldn't tell. Maple asked things like how old he was, what his home was like, what his favourite colour was, seemingly just about anything that had come to her now-seemingly curious mind. Link was a bit calmer now, and answered her questions, asking a few of his own. Maple seemed happy to answer his questions. It seemed as if she came from a land known as Holodrum, and that it was actually not too far from Hyrule. She told him about how she had run into a boy that looked like him, and about how annoying he was. Link laughed. He wasn't sure who the boy was, but the tales she told of him were rather humorous. It seemed as though some times the boy's attacks would backfire on him, as Maple would be able to steal back most of her items and even some of his, as well.
Link grinned. "So, you say he looks like me?" Maple nodded, looking over at him with a smile. "Yeah, he looks a lot like you...Well...Not anymore, heh...Not now that you're a girl..." Link, reminded of his current situation, looked away from Maple to the side. "Oh that's right, I'm a girl...How could I forget? Except for the fact that I'm a guy." Maple grinned, reaching over and patting Link's ass. "Not right now, you aren't!" Link looked at her, narrowing his eyes a bit playfully. Maple grinned, looking Link up and down through the corners of her eyes. "A new name might be in order. Linkette? Linkey? Hmmm..." Link gave her a look. "I think I'd like to stick to "Link", thank you very much." Maple laughed, Link smiling at her laughter. They entered the Kokiri Woods, the sun just about ready to set as they did so. A few Kokiri children stood by the entrance to their Woods, all of them giving Link weird looks. One of them gasped "You...You look just like...Like Link!..."
Link breathed a private sigh of relief. "Thank God, none of them think I'm really me!..." He said "Um...Yeah...We're friends of Link's, we're gonna wait for him in his place." One of them laughed loudly. "You might be waiting a while, he's usually gone for like weeks on end." Maple grinned. "Yeah, but see, we passed by Link on our way here. He told us he had to do something and that it'd only take about an hour or so, and that afterwards he'd meet us here. He said we could wait in his house, so..." One of them grinned. "Saria might want to see him more than you two do." Maple raised an eyebrow at the name. Link smiled. "We'll be fine, don't worry. It's not like we'll be keeping Link long. We're just...Friends." All of them shrugged and walked away, going about their business. Link smiled, Maple grinning at him. She suddenly grabbed his hand gently, looking him in the eyes as he looked over. They were silent for a few moments. Maple suddenly said "I like your eyes...I love the blue..." Link blushed faintly, smiling and saying "Well...Thanks..." Maple smiled more, blushing softly at Link's acceptance of her compliment. "So...Where's your house?..." She asked.
Link smiled, holding her hand with more comfort. "Over here, I'll show you, come on." Maple nodded, walking with Link, Navi fluttering around his head as they did so. She was still a little shocked at Link's transformation, but she was over it enough to speak. "You will change Link back, eventually...Right?..." Maple nodded, smiling at Navi. "Of course I will! I just want to spend some time with her, eh, I mean, him." Link gave her a look. "Don't forget that I'm a guy." Maple nodded. "Of course." Link smiled a little more at her. "Are you being nice with me now just because I'm a girl?" Maple blushed a little. "Not just because you're a girl...But because you're a cute girl...And I like cute girls...See....I'm..." Link nodded slightly as he finished her words. "...You're a lesbian?" Maple nodded shyly, blushing deeply. Link grinned at her, raising an eyebrow. "So you wanted to make me a girl to try and do something with me?" Maple blushed more and nodded. "As soon as I laid eyes on you, I sort of had that idea in mind...I mean, I wasn't going to do it, but you were gonna grab some stuff, I just went ahead and did it...I'll change you back, I swear!"
Link nodded, still grinning. "But first...First you want to do something, right?" Maple blushed more and nodded. "I-If it's fine with you, then I'm up for it! I don't get the chance to be with many people back in Holodrum...Syrup works me like a dog..." Link chuckled. "Well...Don't worry...I'll be with you, but only for a little, then I want you to make me a guy again. Being a girl feels...I dunno...I can't explain it." Maple smiled, still blushing a little. "Alright...Let's go to your place first, hmmm?..." Link nodded. "Sure." The two of them walked through the Woods, approaching Link's house when it came into view. Maple grinned as she saw his house, but made no comment, climbing up the ladder to stand waiting for Link at the top. "Oh God, this'll be traumatizing for sure...Having sex in a girl's body...Shit..." Navi giggled.
"Now you'll know how we feel, Link! Well...Except...You'll be with a girl, not a guy." "Damn straight." Link said, climbing up the ladder. Maple smiled, looking at Navi for a moment before looking at Link. Blushing, she grabbed him by the collar, pulling him as she back-stepped into his house. Link smiled, his feminine face blushing a bit, Navi zipping back into his hat.
Maple backed up against the table in the middle of the single room in Link's house, pulling Link close to her, blush filling her face. Her hands began to glow pink for a few moments before Link felt an intense blood rush blur his vision, almost stumbling from the sudden feeling of almost weightlessness. When he could see right again, he saw Maple standing in front of him, looking off to the side. He looked down. He was pleased to see that his body was that of a male's once more. Maple sadly walked past him, grabbing her broom, having left it near the door earlier, leaving Link's house. Link followed her, stepping out into the Woods. "Maple, wait-!" He said. He looked around. Maple was gone. He sighed slightly to himself, wondering how she could have disappeared like she did.
He stepped back into his house, walking over to his bed. He pulled the rest of his clothes off, lying down on his bed with a soft exhale. Navi flew over to him, resting down on his chest as he lay in his bed. "She seemed kind of hurt, Link...Don't you think that she may have actually loved you?..." Link shook his head gently. "We just met, and she was angry with me in the beginning. She only said that because of what we did..." Navi sighed slightly. "I don't know, Link...She seemed awfully sad, you know..." Link blinked a few times. "Well...Maybe we can see each other again some day....I don't know..." Navi remained silent, Link closing his eyes and growing quiet once more. The two of them slowly drifted off to sleep. As his mind fell into the dark folds of sleep, an image surfaced in his mind...It was a picture of Maple, smiling at him as the two of them walked hand-in-hand through the Kokiri Woods, walking towards his house. The image disappeared, Link resting in darkness for the remainder of the night.
