Once everyone had made it to the war room, she remained quiet as she listened. It was very clear to her that the American was out of the loop. What she did understand was the talk of influence. Orlais may love them, but it didn’t mean the others did. In fact, she knew that Fereldon didn’t like them at all and saw them as a threat. They held more power than their own king did at the moment. At least, Corypheus was losing followers; that was always a plus. The less soldiers and allies the enemy had, the more likely they are to succeed in defeating him. Once she heard that their enemy had retreated to the Arbor Wilds, her eyes glanced up at Cullen as she realized how lousy he really was after she left. Sadly, it sounded like she was going to be leaving for the wilds soon; if the Inquisitor decided to go sooner than later. Her attention was caught by another voice, one that had never been in the meetings before. Morrigan seemed to know what it was that Corypheus wanted to get his hands on. She watched as the witch of the wilds lead Evelyn out of the room.
“Is she going to come back? Or...” The outlander asked while looking at everyone around the table. She noticed some shrugging their shoulders like they had no idea. “I do know where Morrigan is taking Evelyn.” Sirena saw Leliana’s brow raise up at her.
“You know where they are going?” The American nodded her head. She had seen the mirror multiple times after the witch had arrived to Skyhold.
“Yes, to the eluvian. It’s the very tall mirror looking thing in the courtyard; anyway, it’s like a portal to some world or dimension.” As she looked around, she saw everyone was confused which caused her to blink a few times. “Okay… You guys clearly don’t know what I’m talking about…” Sirena let out a sigh as she thought a way to explain to them. “Okay, so, think of it this way, there is more than just one world. For example, the fade, which is its own dimension, then you got ours which is our reality. The eluvian is supposed to take you to a dimension one that supposedly used to belong to the Elven gods.”
“And you know this information, how?” Leliana asked after the outlander made her explanation. The question caught the young woman off guard. Her eyes looked over to Cullen for help since he knew her secret.
“She’s a scholar of sorts. I’m sure she did some research while she had some free time.” Cullen’s brown eyes met the blonde girl’s as she gave him grateful smile. The spymaster looked between the two knowing full well he knew something. “Since we don’t know how long the Inquisitor will be, we should go back to our duties.” It was better than waiting around for Evelyn. Before leaving the room, she gave something everyone could do in the meantime.
After everyone had agreed to end the meeting. Sirena made her way back to her chambers. She needed some fresh clothes. Immediately when she stepped foot into her room, the young American began stripping her clothes off. While only left in her undergarments she pulled out a light purple draconic with a dark purple silk underdress. Sirena took off her bra and panties to switch them for something more time appropriate while she was changing which meant a corset. She clipped the overdress in the front. After she had finished getting dressed, she heard a knock on the door. The outlander turned to see Evelyn had entered her room looking like she hadn’t been anywhere. How did the woman look so flawless every time?
“Hey! I was just talking to Varric and he invited us to wicked grace.”
“I still don’t know how to play that game.” The young American saw the look Evelyn gave her which seemed like surprise.
“No one has taught you still?” Sirena shook her head slowly to answer the older woman’s question. “I guess we have all been too busy to teach you or perhaps you never had an interest in learning.”
“Maybe it is a little bit of both.” The outlander shrugged her shoulder. She honestly wasn’t a card player and more of a board game and console player.
“Would you like to join us anyway? I’m sure the Commander will be there.” Sirena perked up in interest when her love was mentioned. The more she thought about joining, the more it felt like a good idea to her. It would be a good way to catch up with everyone. She hadn’t seen everyone quite yet and it would be a way to do so without seeing individually.
“You know, maybe I will go. It’d be nice to see everyone. Plus, we haven’t done anything fun in a while, it will be good for us.” The young woman walked up to Evelyn before taking her arm through hers. “I’m ready whenever you are.”
The young outlander walked alongside with the Inquisitor. It was slightly quiet at night which was just fine with her. In a way, she preferred not to be stared at constantly by people who want to see her fail. It was bad enough that she got sympathy stares that she knew were not genuine. For it to only be a few out had put her at ease. As she walked beside Evelyn, towards the tavern, the young woman looked up to see the stars when she saw a shooting star. Sirena had never seen a shooting star in Thedas before; though, she never really bothered to look before.
Once she was inside the tavern with Evelyn, her eyes looked around to see who was present. To her surprise, she saw Cassandra and Cole. What didn’t surprise her was seeing Josephine, Ironbull, Dorian, Cullen and obviously Varric. It was like a party without music. Quickly, the American sat next to the Inquisitor. Conversation erupted between the players. The commander looked as if he didn’t want to play; not that she blamed him for the young lady had no interest either. However, it was the alcohol that she was interested in. When she got her fruity alcoholic drink, she kept sipping on it having nothing better else to do. Why didn’t she think to bring a book? As the young outlander looked around the table, she noticed Varric had given her a wink. While drinking, she noticed others were getting tipsy when she heard Cullen tell a story.
“The poor recruit ran out in only his knickers! And the hall fell silent as everyone including the mages turned to stare. Then a slow round of applause began until every soul was on their feet. A standing ovation!” While Josephine giggled from the story, the American didn’t understand what was so funny.
“What did he do after?”
“He saluted, turned on his heel, and marched out like he was fully clothed.” As everyone laughed at the story, Sirena had begun to feel like it was a mistake to be there. As she finished her drink, she let out a fake laugh. Times like these made her miss the memes from her reality. Now those were funny! But of course, due to the time she’s from, she was going to find different things humorous. When the outlander got another drink, she didn’t bother nursing it. While drinking, she heard Varric had begun telling his story. Her brain had gotten fuzzy and she laughed at the pun the dwarf made.
The more drunk the American felt, the more she felt excited to watch everyone play Wicked Grace. Sirena knew her love was doomed when he decided to continue to play against Josephine. That woman was an ambassador for a reason. It was bad for everyone to see her man lose article of clothing and armor one after the next till the point he was naked. As she looked at the Commander, she started to feel moist while everyone was backing out of anymore card game. Once everyone had either left or turned their backs, she met his brown eyes, it looked like he wanted her to look away as well. With a disappointed sight, she stood up and turned her back to her lover so he can run out and do his walk-of-shame. It was a shame he didn’t want her to follow him. With another sigh, she followed the others out. Even though she wanted to go to Cullen, the young woman knew it was better to get rest anyway for she was going back into the field to fight after her trauma. She can’t mess up!
