    Forgotten_Sheikah's Corner;

Hello every one! Wow...it has been too long since I've updated this fanfiction. I'd like to note that I am in fact the Authoress MuteShadow on this site as well. Soon, I will be placing all my fanfictions in this account into my MuteShadow account and they will be edited there. This new chapter has the introduction of two new characters. For the fan who asked me it was interesting I did not make Link talk a lot, it is simple knowledge he infact doesn't. I am trying to keep him in character so bare with me ^^.

Link's eye widened a fraction in surprise. His grandmother's came back from the fogs of his mind, stunnning the boy.

'Our blood line is that of the Hero of Time, Link. Our blood line is the sworn protectors of Hyrule and its people. For many centuries we were the saviours along side the mysterious people of the Sheikah who protected Hyrule, its people and Royal family'

Those haunting words replayed in Link's mind. This boy was a Sheikah. An ancient being who once stood by his ancestors side to protect Hyrule and its Royal Family. Glancing at the boy, Link looked down at his sword in embaressement when the boy glared at him when he caught Link staring at him.

Silence echoed between Sheik and Link, the darkness surrounding them in a blanket of darkness. Link stared at the sword in his leather-bound hands, staring at its hilt with the Hylian language. A language long forgotten of his people. Running his callused finger down the intricate letters, Link stiffened when his vision dissapeared in a white flash. Terrified, he paused when he heard a voice murmuring.

"Eska no anata ryu kino waga kusori?"

Trapped in the dome of light, Link turned around to see a black figure. Going for his sword, the boy stiffened when he noticed he no longer held the sword on his person. His blue eyes narrowing thoughtfully, Link side stepped away from the approaching figure. His hand crawling to his back, Link cursed mentally when he noticed he had no weapon on him; boomerang or bow and arrows. His eyes never straying from the odd figure, he watched a female form appear. She had gray hair that was pulled back from her angular face. Her face was striking almost handsome and she had an odd three triangle tattoo beneath her left eye.

Suddenly, Link noticed her attire. This woman was dressed like Sheik. Not knowing if the woman could be trusted, Link listened to her words carefully.

"I see that you do not remember our language, Hero. I mistakened that with your clothes and weapons once again at your side, you had some how remembered your task." The woman paused to stare in the bewildered face of the elven Hylian before her. "Hn. I see you have not remembered." Turning on her foot and beginning to walk away into the light, the woman glanced from her shoulder and said, "I will see you again soon, Link. Until then, I pray for you to remember all you have forgotten. Farewell, Hero."

Instantaneously, a huge blast of white enveloped Link again. The feeling of falling through the air with a dangerous speed made him struggle with the odd chains of light that had somehow had come out of no where and grasped his body. Yelling, Link felt the rock hard sensation of his back meeting earth.

Moaning, Link's eyes fluttered open to meet the red eye of Sheik. Blinking in surprise, he blushed when he noticed Sheik was practically on top of him, his eye intensely fixated on his face. Sheik slowly reclined from the flush elf and sat beside him, staring at him thoughtfully. "Why did you just pass out, elf?" Sheik demanded in his whisper-soft and msyterious voice.

Link cast an annoyed look at the Sheikah male. Noticing the glare given to him from the reserved Hylian, the boy shook his head. Sheik smirked underneath his scarf, the only evidence of his amusement with the sparkle to his ruby eye and eyebrow that lifted mockingly. "Are all elves this arrogant? Perhaps thats why you and your race have forgotten your own language and history; your oblivious arrogance clouded your minds."

Link growled and with drew his sword. Standing up, he placed the sword to Sheik's throat, ignoring the boy's bored look. Sheik shrugged his shoudlers and stood. Walking back into the shadows, Sheik stopped. Never turning to talk to Link, he murmured, "The woods are dangerous, elf. To apprach it with only a sword and an idiots courage is ridiculous. You will soon be robbed and slaughtered before you can find the sage and the Deku Tree."

Link froze when he heard his task from Sheik. How did he know? Frowning, Link grasped his sword hilt tighter, wary of this enigimatic character before him. Sheik stared ahead, his red eye blazing in the dark. Turning to Link slightly, allowing his red eye to capture the boy's blue pair, Sheik stood stiffly. "If I were you, elf, I would take the left path in the fork that will come to you. There you will find something that might assist you on your quest."

Link stared at the blank space where Sheik had once stood. The boy had literally faded into the shadows. Relaxing slightly, Link stared down at his sword in confusion. Who was that woman and what did she mean he had forgotten? Why had this boy, Sheik, appeared out of no where and then began to help him? Looking up into the night sky, Link stared at the twinkling stars. The stars in his village were more beautiful for in his village there was laughter, dancing and singing. Not the echoing darkness of evil.

Morning broke, the sun rising over top of the land. The bright rays managed to break through the thick tree lvease; awakening the lightly slumbering boy. Link blinked sleepily, his blue eyes widening. Standing up and stretching, he glanced around him for his weapons. Strapping the many articles to his body again, the Hylian began to walk down the path again, in solitude.

He walked the entire morning, never stopping for food or water. He remained alert, the knowledge he was on a mission and many enemies hid behind the bushes that surrounded him always on his mind. Finally, by mid-afternoon when the sun held high in the clear blue sky, the boy stopped and sat on a near by boulder, resting in the shade. Glancing around him, he stared at the dirt path that lead through the forest, the path that would lead him to the Kokiri forest. Link glanced around him, noticing the odd aura the Lost Woods held. Animals were scarce here; the sun had to battle with the miasma of the area to touch its ray's fingertips through the shadowy fog of the tree tops.

Sighing, Link readied to leave. His body stiffened, however, when he heard a tiny aqueak.

    "Link!"

Blinking his narrowed-blue eyes, the Hylian looked around him. His stunning face instantly becoming impassive, his eyes alert, he unsheathed his sword and held it before him, awaiting an attack. His long, pointed ears twitched when the peculiar sound of fluttering, like a butterfly's wings met the acute ear drums.

"Link! Is that truly you, Hero?" The small voice demanded in awe.

Frowning, Link's eyes slanted thoughtfully. Did this anonymous, unseen visitor mean to do him harm? Why did they know his name and called him 'Hero'?

Suddenly, a small orb of light came from behind a bush, its aura bright and warm. Blinking, Link's eyebrows flew up and dissapeared underneath his fine, golden bangs. White, hot light entered his mind as he stared at the mysteriously familiar circle of light.

The orb hovered before the boy, the tiny almost indescribable figure inside of it frowning. "Link...why do you raise your sword against me? Why is this sword in your hands where the blade of evil's bane should be in your grasp?" the female voice demanded curiously.

Link stepped back cautiously, scrutinizing the fairy. The fairy flew towards the boy until she was a mere centimeter from his crossed-eyes, due to her close courters to him.

    "You...Hero...You have forgotten...Haven't you?"

Link scowled. What was with all these strangers knowing more about him then he did? His eyes slanting, he gave the fairy a pointed look, silently demanding her to answer his mute question. The fairy sighed, the sound like a tiny whistle of wind. "I should have known but yet I had hoped against it. Dear Link, I am your closet friend and guide. Long, long ago we once aided each other against evil. But now...you have forgotten even I." The orb dimmed, the brightness fading with the fairy's happiness. "It is as the Goddesses foretold. When they rid of the evil, they rid of you.

Link stiffened, his mouth slacking open. Him? But the legend that said the evil that was rid of, so was the Hero. If this strange creature said his memories were locked up...was she implying he, Link, was the Hero of Time? Frowning at her, he slowly placed his sword into its sheath, his arms crossing over his chest. The fairy giggled.

"I see you are still as silent as death, Link. Yet, you seem different. Your aura has changed slightly and seems to hold a great sadness. Could it be from Ganondorf's return?" she questioned sadly.

Link sighed. None of this was making sense. Shaking his head, he looked away. "I dont remember you." He admitted softly, his sapphire eyes shinning with honesty.

The fairy released a tear in the form of a tiny drop of light fall to the ground. "Yes. I have noticed. But... the Fates have come and I am here again, Link. I am Navi; your guide and companion."

Link nodded slightly. He felt as if a piece of his empty shell had been replaced with the introduction of this ball of light. How? He could not explain. Yet, the words that would have rolled of his tongue seemed to shine with in his expressive eyes. Navi smiled.

"You need not speak, Hero. Your soul tells me all I need to know. I hear you have risen to defeat Ganondorf again. You are heading to the Kokiri Forest to find the sage, am I correct?"

The elf nodded. Navi twirled in the air, golden dust from her swiftly fluttering wings trickling in the air. "Then, as in the past, let us be off, Hero. We must find the sage, a thing I can help you with. I can only hope, as our adventure continues, that your memory will be restored." The fairy then began to fly slowly ahead, the small woman inside her orb of light expecting her long-past friend to follow her as he always had.

Link sighed yet smiled a bit. As odd as it was for this strange fairy to appear out of the Goddesses-knows-where and to claim she knew him from another life time, he found himself at ease and content. Perhaps this creature, Navi, could answer his questions about Ganondorf, Aryll and perhaps, even himself.
