Title: Disfigured One 4th
Story

..........
'It will not end well, brother. Having
trysts with mortals. We are beings of the elements, created from
nature itself.' He was a paled skin creature, as if his skin was
forever cold, though it was truth. Blue markings covered portions of
his flesh in complex designs about different areas of his naked
muscular body, the most prominent being from under his crystal blue
eyes to the upper torso. Long pale golden hair swayed about his back.
Clusters of blue colored scales made a wing like formation at his
back, dispensing cold air chill enough to freeze the air around him.
The scales continued upward until a cluster formed around his neck.
Forelimbs were surrounded by the sapphire colored scales, ending with
claws and talons as white as snow. The horns on the side of his head
were of the same color. His godly figure was marred only by several
deep scars, hinting at the horrors of the physical world. He sat
regally atop a frigid throne, so finely hewn the ice was as clear as
glass.
'I will hear no more about your opinion
on the matter, my brother. It was you who also fell in love with a
mortal once.' The other beside the blue being was his complete
opposite in nearly every way: though identical physically, his skin
was as dark as the scorched earth, his hair a deep silver, his eyes,
markings and scales were crimson and gave off the heat of a raging
inferno where the other gave off the cold of the frigid glacier. His
body had a few large scars from his time in the physical world, but
not nearly as much as his brother's, nor were the glowing markings
about his body quite as complex, showing him the younger of the two.
He sat in a molten throne, lava pouring over him but not affecting
him in any way. A barrier was between the two: the Being in blue was
of the frozen water that could be shaped and immortalized into a true
solid shape, the Being in red was of the blazing flame that flickered
about like a spirit or shroud and could not take a true still image.
'It was a mistake that cost her life.
My precious Mami should never have fallen for my flowery poetry and
sweet words. I should have never caught sight of her during my
travels along the ever moving waters. That was a time long forgotten
though, before the Human evolved wings and became the Fae, the winged
ones who soared above the wild beasts that savagely hunted them and
created civilization upon the clouds. Please brother...Ryu, I want
you to stay away from this Fae who has caught your eye. Even should
an early death not befall her as with my Mami, she will still grow
old and you will lose her to the life cycle of the mortals.' The Blue
One looked seriously at his brother, hoping for an understanding, but
deep down knew it would not be reached.
'I can't do that, brother Fou-Lu. You
said it yourself when Mami still lived: Love is a force of nature in
and of itself. It can pull all into it's flow, no matter if mortal or
immortal. I want to be with this Fae, and will do as you did back
then and assume a mortal's appearance.' Ryu spoke firmly to his older
brother, who could only sigh.
'You will come to blame yourself for it
as I have, but it was as I said...very well, I can only hope you are
happy with your decision and I will support you. It will be a long
time before I see you, as time's flow goes by much faster in the
Elemental World than the Physical World. If this one is the Legendary
Everlasting...there may be true hope for you and the two of you will
be together no matter the fate to befall you. You also know if that
is the case you will have to reveal your true self...' He paused a
moment, but Ryu already knew and finished the rest.
'...for she must be able to love all
aspects of me. If it is not meant to be...I...I will return here
again.' The brothers looked to one another As they were elementally
in opposition, physical good byes were not at option, lest the frigid
glacier freeze the inferno or the inferno's power melt the glacier.
They could only part ways with the blessing of prayer.
'I am Fou-Lu, The Dragon of the Water.
Immortalized in impenetrable ice. We the brood born of the elements
that shape the Physical World, I pray for my sibling to the
All-Father Ladon, that he may make his way and find his Legendary
Everlasting upon the Physical World.'
'I am Ryu, The Dragon of the Flame.
Immortalized in unstoppable magma. We the brood born of the elements
that shape the Physical World, I pray for my siblings to the
All-Father Ladon, that he keep their existence as it has always been,
that the frigid water, the blowing wind, and the sandy earth will
forever remain.' The red Dragon's body dissipated from this space,
the volcano and lava subsiding until it was just a normal dormant
volcano, gray ash falling from the sky.
..........
Wyndia it was called, the Castle in the
Sky, the capital of the Fae. For a long time the majestic floating
continents crafted from the genius of the Fae were unreachable, but
recently the Fae became a part of society with the earthbound ones,
such as the Grass Runners, the Woren, and the Manillo to name a few.
Magic towers infused with teleporting magics allowed the grounded
races access if need be for trade or relations. In the large castle
of Wyndia, It's King and Queen had born three daughters: The eldest
was Princess Elena. As the oldest, she was responsible to uphold the
royal family's legacy as heir to the throne and put in a political
marriage. Luckily for herself, she was allowed to get to know her
suitor, a lord captain to the King hailing from a far off floating
isle. The two had fallen in love, and were in line to be the next
rulers upon the Fae's society after the King and Queen's passing. The
middle daughter was Princess Nina who was a free spirit in every
sense of the word. If Elena and her suitor's marriage hadn't
succeeded to keep the royal bloodline going, Nina would have to take
her place and be forced into a political marriage which was the least
of what she wanted. She believed in finding that one true love, and
was quite a tomboy by comparison to her older sister, though had her
girly and romantic side. The youngest was Princess Mina, still just a
girl who had almost reached the cusp of teenage hood but not quite
there yet, and the apple of her parents eyes.
'Nina, you should learn to settle down
some. You'll never find a good man by playing their games and tests
of strength. Show your feminine side, and have them come to you, that
is how you initiate who is truly interested in you, from there you
break it down on what it is about them that interests you.' Her
mother would lecture her often on this matter before she would run
out of the castle. Her mother worried about her middle daughter, who
was already coming up on her nineteen birthday and not brought a
single man to introduce to her parents. Eighteen was the age which
most Fae would get married, and it had already happened with Elena
and her husband, now promoted from a simple lord captain to a prince.
'I'll find someone soon enough, mother.
Just you wait. Have some faith in me, okay?' Her daughter smiled
cutely at her mother before running off in her brand new blue dress
to match the color of her sapphire eyes. Long golden hair flowed
behind her with her movements, and she was quite fast having gotten
so used to running in the large dresses she was often made to wear.
Her mother sighed.
'That dress is probably going to come
back full of mud and torn to shreds...I've said it once and I'll say
it again...' Before she finished speaking, the King entered.
'Say what, my dear?' He made his way
towards her.
'...Nina probably gets her wild streak
from you.'
..........
Nina was well known in the castle town,
not just as a political figurehead, but as a very strong girl who
stood up for herself. Many a familiar face would give her a greeting
which she returned in kind.
'Always the same faces, same
people...maybe I should tour outside of the capital for a while, it
has been a long time since ventured the grounds below...' She
murmured to herself. Strange music filled the air as she made her way
to the trade market, something she hadn't heard before. The
instrument sounded like a lute, though, if her ears weren't mistaken.
No one usually played music around the stalls. A gaggle of young
girls, Fae and other races, surrounded where the music emanated from
at the square where a large golden bell hung from a massive stone
monument. It was the Wedding Bell monument. Nina made her way there,
getting the attention of a Fae girl in the back.
'What's going on?' She asked. The girl
turned, freezing up partially having not expected Princess Nina to be
the one to talk to her but soon regained her baring and spoke in a
respectful tone.
'Good day, your highness. Seems a
wandering musician has come here. He doesn't look rich by any stretch
of the imagination, but he is as handsome as he is mysterious. See
for yourself.' The girl siddled over a bit and allowed Nina to see
the musician being spoken of. To be attracting so much attention
meant he must have been really hot, not that mere looks swayed her.
Upon seeing the man, however, that might have changed. She could only
make out a little bit of his appearance with the crowd surrounding
him. He had a rugged appearance with tanned skin from wandering, long
blue hair wild and spiked. Several of his clothing looked to be rags
sewn together to make a bigger garment. The strangest thing was that
he seemed to have tiny red horns jutting out from behind his ears,
and his wings seemed abnormally large but were also the strangest
color: Where all Fae had lightly colored wings ranging from white,
light blue, light yellow, or light pink like her own, his were black.
His frame was hidden under his baggy robes but even as he sat there
he looked like his build might be larger than even a typical Fae
male. He was playing a lute that was well worn. His music stopped,
and he then rosed to full height, proving her observation true. He
had yet to open his eyes. The girls let out their swooning squeals,
begging him to continue playing. He lifted a large hand and waved
dismissively but politely. His eyes opened, deep purple that both
offset his wings yet complimented their unique color. Nina would be
lying if she said those eyes didn't seem to draw her into their
depths.
'I apologize, but I am starving from my
travel here and wish to find a tavern and partake in a meal with what
few coinage I own.' Even with his ragged appearance, his tone was
intelligent, regal even. He turned down the girls who insisted on
having a meal with him and paying for his as well, but he turned them
down with politeness.
'I could not accept. It would be rude
of me to take advantage of a pretty woman's coinage. It is better
spent on things you want to purchase, not on a simple wanderer just
so he can eat.' He went past them, and many of the Fae girls could
not help but touch his black wings. Touching one's wings was a sign
of attraction and interest, but he continued on his way until he
stood in front of Nina herself, a good head in a half taller than her
and quite as muscularly built as she had assumed, seeing a bit of his
barrel chest from the wide opening at the neck of his robe. He looked
at her for a moment before taking a knee as he bowed lowly to her.
'I apologize. You must be from the
royal family, perhaps one of the famed Princesses I had heard about
in my wanderings even. I mean no disrespect, but may I please pass?'
He spoke to her with utmost respect.
'What would make you come to that
conclusion, sir? I could be the daughter of an aristocrat for all you
know by the state of my dress. What makes you so sure I'm from the
royal family? I wear none of the royal symbols.' She was surprised
that a wanderer would be able to identify her as a Princess so
easily. Most travelers who came their first time here would not give
her much of a thought save for oogling until told by others they were
in the presence of royalty.
'It is not by the state of dress, and
pardon my wandering eyes.' He admitted he had been giving her
attractive form a once over. 'But the way you carry yourself. The
Royal family is unsurpassed in their grace and the air of authority
that surrounds them. A clumsy oaf like myself should have been more
observant. I will take my leave, lest I earn your wrath.' He was on
his feet quicker than she thought possible with face lowered as he
took a brisk pace through a forming crowd of shoppers. Even with his
larger than normal frame, he must have lowered his stance a bit,
because she could not make any part of him out of the crowd.
..........
She frequented each tavern she knew so
she could find the man again, but the owners knew not of the stranger
she described. The way he acted was so different from what she was
used too, true he claimed he had been oogling, but was polite and
showed her respect for her position all at once while being his
utmost humble and revering of her. Most wanderers and vagrants to the
city were on the vulgar side and shamefully pursue her even when
informed she was a Princess, a lust for power and position in their
eyes as they tried to earn her affection. The strange Fae musician
was a far cry from the others and seemed like quite a catch himself
despite his supposedly poor upbringing. She felt compelled to find
him again. He may have originally wanted to go to a tavern, but may
have settled for a stall believing the price to not be as high. Going
along that vein, she searched many a food stall at every street
corner she knew had one, yet again was given no answer that the
mysterious Fae had been to any. The setting sun brought the city into
a marvelous golden glow with the fading light. She had been searching
for him all day. Sighing in disappointment she decided to make her
way back to the castle. She passed a darkened alleyway, in time to
hear a girl's scream. As was in her nature she rushed head long to
help whoever it was that might be in need. Apparently a possible
Woren merchant's daughter got caught in the wrong place at the wrong
time with the wrong people. A Shell clansman and Oxen clansman who
both reeked of alcohol used their immense sizes to trap the girl
here.
'Come on babe! Have a drink with us!'
The Oxen said, his voice a bit slowed by a slight slur.
'Please, sirs. I have to get back to my
father's stall.' She Woren said fearfully facing their lecherous
countenances. Though the races were usually kept pure by breeding
with the same species, raping others of different species wasn't
always an impossibility, especially those of the more graceful and
beautiful of the races: Namely Fae, Worens, Nagas, and Grass Runners.
Nina decided she better intervene, but knew it was just her luck to
be facing some of the most powerful clans in terms of raw brute
strength. She would not let the poor girl be taken like this though.
'You two best leave now. Let that girl
pass.' Nina commanded with a sharp tone, catching their attention.
'Well...that one's quite a looker too,
no? The Shell had said. His reach was frightening long, Nina was
already aware, but the dying light made that even harder to see. His
large hand grasped her arm like a snake lashing out from the
darkness. Nina was dragged towards them despite her resistance: Fae's
were the lightest of the races to allow their flight. Growling in an
unladylike tone, she allowed the momentum to wind her foot back
before giving the Shell's head a good kick with her heel. It has
proven useful, loosing his grip from the unexpected hit as his head
reeled back.
'Damn...quite a spunky one. Strong too
for a Fae.' The Shell said, shaking his head. Nina had managed to
drive a large enough wedge between the two towering figures and drag
the girl to the alleyway entrance. The Oxen had recovered out of his
stupor of seeing his pal get soundly struck and with his own
impressive reach, grabbed hold of the Princess's wings. As the wings
were delicate, the unexpected contact left Nina stunted for a moment,
enough so that she was dragged back. The Woren tried to help her, but
Nina found her voice again.
'Get out of here! Don't worry about me!
Leave before they get both of us!' The Woren had took a few seconds
to budge but tearfully nodded and fled the scene. Nina was brought
back into the alleyway, against her will but the delicate wings made
her easy to manipulate back toward the two.
'Bitch. You'll pay for letting her get
away.' The Oxen said, the stench of his breath churning the Fae's
insides. A familiar voice called out to the two giants.
'The woman is the Fae's Princess. You
both will be hunted down like beasts if you continue any further. You
should both make yourselves scarce with what little dignity you may
still possess.' The two looked to the entrance and Nina herself
couldn't have been more glad: The Fae musician had appeared! His gaze
was gentle still, given the situation, but there was a slight hard
edge to their gleam that only Nina could see. The alcohol in their
system was too great to really understand his words, and they were
greatly annoyed enough by yet another interruption to their fun.
'The fuck...why don't ya might yer own
business?' After the words were spoken, things happened suddenly, and
the two large clansmen were staggering back from the force behind the
Fae Musician's own kicks, each foot aimed at their temples. He took
hold of Nina's small hand in his much larger ones and pulled her
behind him, large black wings obscuring her from view.
'You little...' The Oxen's massive
hands shot out to grasp cleanly around the male Fae's body, crushing
him. Or trying to anyway. Nina saw him miraculously flexing his
muscles to relieve the hold of the giant hands. The Fae growled low
in his throat, before swinging his arms out and pushing away the
massive hands. He rushed to the Oxen, using the large frame to
ricochet off of and sending his knee into the Oxen's chin and making
him stagger back. He was over the Oxen, planting his feet into the
Oxen's face and driving him to the ground with a loud thud. He back
flipped off the now unconscious Oxen, fending Nina once more. The
Shell was awestruck. Both Fae were pretty strong, but the male was
abnormally so: never had he seen a Fae match physical strength with
an Oxen and get out of what should have been impossible to do so.
'Well? Sober up any? Leave and take
your drinking buddy with you.' The Musician said sternly. The Shell
didn't want to but complied, hauling his pal across his wide
shoulders and leaving. The Musician's eyes watched as they left out
of his sight, his hard gaze becoming once again completely gentle.
'Your highness, it is dangerous even
for you in your own city at night it seems.' He had a small smile,
trying to lighten up her mood as she looked slightly pale. Truth be
told, it was a mixture of being afraid at what might have happened
yet giddy that the Musician made himself known. Perhaps out of
instinct, her gentle hands touched the side of one of his large
wings. There was a small reddish tint to his cheeks upon her doing
that which hadn't escaped her notice, yet was gone nearly as
instantly making her think she was seeing only what she wanted to
see. She decided on the former with delight upon noticing a slight
nervousness by the small clenching of his fists and the way his eyes
would dart from her face then focus to something else. He regained
his composure quickly, though, and gave a slight bow.
'Are you on your way home, your
highness? I can walk with you, but can't promise to be much of an
escort. I don't know my way around your city after all. It was
probably by pure chance I came here when I did.' He said, a tiny
laugh escaping his lips. Since she was looking for him anyway, and it
was the perfect chance she was going to get, so she took it without
hesitation.
'How about I give you a tour? The
castle can wait.' She said.
'Are you sure? The hour has gotten
late. The King and Queen wouldn't be worried about one of their
daughters still out and about?' He asked. He hadn't wanted to damper
her good mood, but didn't want to be responsible if she got into any
kind of trouble with her parents for being out past her due. Nina was
disappointed but did realize he was right. Her parents often gave her
freedom to wander, but never too long once the sun set and the night
life start to come out. She so badly wanted to show him around
however, but thought of something else instead.
'Well then...why not show you the
castle instead? Tomorrow I can show you the city.' She suggested,
wanting him to be with her.
'I don't think someone like myself,
dressed in mere rags, would make such a good impression with your
family. Why not meet you outside the gates of the castle? My sense of
direction is fairly good once I know the exact way I'm suppose to
go.' He offered instead. Nina was insistent though, believing this to
be a good way to show her thanks for his deeds. Plus, it would allow
her to keep an eye on the mysterious Fae who caught her interest.
'Please accept my hospitality at the
very least. You did save me, so I should do something for you in
return, right? I insist.' She looked at him with her pleading blue
eyes, face drawing closer to his.
'I...very well. Since we have not
properly introduced ourselves, I suppose that would be in order now.
My name is Ryu.' He bowed slightly, offering his hand. She shook it
pleasantly.
'I'm Nina. Nice to meet you, Ryu.'
..........
'Nina! Child, where have you been?' Her
mother was of course quite the mother hen when she didn't know her
daughters safety.
'Don't be worried mother. I'm fine.
Better than fine actually. I feel great!' Nina had a pleasant smile
as she clasped her mother's hands.
'It's a miracle! Your dress is
completely in tact for once.' Her mother said, seeing that Nina had
kept the dress in good condition for a whole day. Her eyes caught
sight of the taller figure standing a few feet behind her daughter.
'Gracious! Nina, who is this man?' The
Queen asked, looking fearfully at him. She had caught sight of his
appearance, which intimidated her to say the least.
'I know he's just a traveler, but he
helped me out earlier this evening and I wanted to show him my
appreciation. His name is Ryu, and he has been a gentleman in every
sense of the word.' Nina explained. Her mother looked skeptical.
'Good evening, your Majesty. I
apologize for my appearance and lack of refinery or grace, but I can
be only who I am.' He gave a low bow before the Queen, showing his
respect in much the way he did with Nina. The Queen had to agree that
he at least seemed well mannered enough.
'It is quite unlike my daughter to
bring a man to the castle, but if she owes you a debt of
appreciation, I can't turn you away.' The Queen said, trusting her
daughter's decision that the man was trustworthy.
..........
It had been several months since the
fateful encounter between the two Fae. Despite his odd appearance,
Ryu's personality won Nina's family over. It was rare, happening only
twice throughout the Fae's history, that any member of the Royal
Family fell in love with someone of a common birth. Usually the
remaining family members would marry to lesser lords or vassals if
not the successor to the throne. Having earned Princess Nina's
affections and being allowed to court her, Ryu had earned a high
status as a lesser lord and accepted it humbly. It had been a few
months later that the two were married under the Wedding Bell
Monument where the two had met one another for the first time. Now he
carried his bride across the threshold to their bed chambers.
'Nina, you've made me the happiest man
alive, I'm sure. I wish I could show my gratitude.' He laid her
gently on their bed, looking deep into her eyes and a serene smile on
his lips. She looked so beautiful in her flowing white wedding dress,
flowery designs imprinted along the whole dress. Her smile was
dreamy, her eyes gleaming with her happiness. She placed a gloved
hand to his cheek.
'You will tonight, my love.' She spoke
softly, a small blush on her cheeks. Truth be told, she was a bit
nervous but knew it was nothing out of the ordinary. He grasped her
hand upon his cheek with his own, bringing his lips to kiss her palm.
'I will not rush you. Our lives have
been entwined. There will be other nights, if you are not ready.' He
said reassuringly. His kindness always brought a smile to her face.
'I am a bit nervous, but it will pass.
This is a normal thing between husband and wife that is done upon the
day of their wedding. I want you, Ryu.' Her voice was soft,
seductive. He nodded gently.
'Before we begin, Nina, there is
something I must tell you. You have accepted nearly all of my
aspects, and our union tonight will mean that you have accepted me
completely as I am now. There is a task to be done by me in order to
find out if you are my Legendary Everlasting.' He said, his voice
apologetic while his eyes held a mixture of nervousness.
'Legendary Everlasting?' Nina had never
heard the term. Ryu nodded.
'Perhaps you have already realized it,
but I am not of your race. I am not a Fae.' He said to her, his eyes
serious.
'Not a Fae?' During their times
together, there were moments she suspected otherwise of him but did
not question it. He had claimed to be of a common birth, earthbound
born and raised. To him, it had only been recently that he had ever
seen and been to one of the majestic Fae cities within the sky. She
had though that perhaps some of his abnormalities were due to his
body having been adapted to the world below.
'I never wanted to keep it from you.
But I was afraid...one as beautiful as you...I thought that you may
run from me with fear and loathing, and I did not want that because I
loved you too much to chase you away and put off telling you. I feel
even more despicable, having waited for the two of us to be wed that
now I cannot keep it secret any longer. You had caught my eye long
before our meeting by the Wedding Bell Monument. I made a tough
decision, deciding to transform by true body to a Fae's though it was
not perfect as you can no doubt see. My wings are too dark, my body
too large to be normal, and I have my horns. They are the signs that
one can never truly escape the fact that he or she are not actually
what it is he or she wants to become. A transformation that is
completely real and no mere illusion. I wish my life was born on this
mortal world as a Fae, so that I could pursue you in a truly natural
way. But...life is never that kind it would seem. Know Nina, that my
true self is something else entirely. I am a Dragon.' He explained to
her, his expression completely serious.
'Dragon? That's impossible...they are
just legends...' Nina was cut off.
'Legends mortals created, but we are
real none the less. We are not as mortals may depict, as we are born
not of the Physical World, but the Elemental World. Our true forms
are quite humanoid in appearance, and not the giant scaled beasts the
legends depict. The laws that write the flow of nature's elements are
the works of a Dragon's influence. They are in complete control of
the element they are born from, and can effect it in the Physical
World if they desire. Though there has been no reason really to do
so, as the elements are never truly stationary unless a Dragon wills
it to be, and move and effect the world even without our help.' He
explains, both feeling like a giant weight has rolled off his chest
but with many other new worries now that Nina knew. Would she turn
him down? She had every right to hate him completely now, as his
telling her this now while they had just been married would also
tarnish her image in the eyes of others if they were to be separated.
He indeed began feeling more guilty by the look of her face, lacking
it's original cheer as she processed the information.
'There were times when you seemed
bothered by something. Now I know why. Your right that your timing
was quite late, but overall, I'm actually relieved that you've told
me, Ryu. It's endearing to know you trust me enough to inform me
about it. Tell me of this Legendary Everlasting you spoke of
earlier.'
'It is the term used by us Dragons when
we believe we have found the one who could be our soul mate. Though
it is titled such, it really is perhaps the wrong wording, for it can
be as finicky as love itself. There is a pulse that sparks through
our bodies when our eyes see the mortal who could be the one. Most
immortals will not acknowledge it. I follow in my older brother's
foot steps, for he was the first one to decide to follow the pulse.
It was a long time ago before the Fae had wings and lived life on the
world below. He fell in love with a beautiful girl from a farming
village. My brother has only told me that she renounced her feelings
and let herself die alone. He told me it would be a great risk to
seek you out, but I wanted to be sure. My brother supported my
decision eventually and that is why I am here. It was what I wanted,
and that our fates might be different from the fates of my brother
and his lover. He told me that if it truly the case that you are my
Legendary Everlasting, we will always be together no matter what.' He
explained as best he could, though since he was only the second to
attempt it, there was nothing concrete. Fou-Lu had been deep in study
about it after he had lost Mami, but could provide no other
information of use.
'I see...then after we have consummated
this night, you will reveal your true form to me. You said it's quite
humanoid unlike what the legends say. I'm sure it will be as
beautiful as the current form you take, Ryu.' Nina's hands caressed
his face, beginning to roam down his neck to loosen the collared
mantle he wore. For the first time she saw his eyes sparkle brighter
with happiness than any other without the small lingering shadow
within their depths, now free of his secret at her acceptance of his
true self and seeing past that, knowing that he was still the Ryu she
had fallen in love with regardless of his shape.
'My love, Nina...your words mean so
much to me. I thought my happiness could not swell to greater
heights, yet I was proven wrong.' He lowered his face to her own,
kissing at her sweet lips, deeper and hotter than the one kiss they
shared at their Wedding Ceremony. His hands began to roam the sides
of her waist, stopping at her hips. He sat her up easily into his
lap, hands up to remove the veil and lay it on the side of their bed.
He slid her dress off delicately, fingers gently making contact with
her curves as he slid it further it was off her body. She was able to
free his mantle and work him out of his silk shirt.
'You have scars. How did you get them?'
Nina asked curiously. She'd never seen him even partially naked until
tonight. Her fingers traced over the rippling muscles and along those
scars about his body.
'From traveling the Physical World a
long time ago. I tended to follow in my older brother's footsteps as
I've said earlier, as his fascination in the many aspects of the
Physical World also took hold in me. I saved a Human colony from
massive beasts and got these scars from their sharp claws. Despite
our immortality, we are not Gods who are impervious to any wounds or
pain. We bleed just as easily as any mortal.' He told her, beginning
to lick at her neck.
'As you've met my own family, I would
very much like to see your family someday.' She said, soft sighs
leaving her lips at his ministrations as his hands fondled her
breasts.
'As we Dragons are born of the
elements, we are not truly related, but we treat each other as
siblings and care for one another like a true family. I would like
you to meet them someday as well.' He brought his face lower, leaving
a trail of saliva along her skin. He placed his hands along her
wings, his gentle touch on the sensitive appendages making her feel
hotter still and twice as giddy. Somehow she had gotten him as naked
as herself, hands exploring even lower to reach where his desire
pulsed. His sex organ became stiffer with her flighty touch along
it's length, and he groaned out his approval. She was already so wet,
his attention on her wings having practically driven her into a
sexual frenzy and off the stimulation alone she came.
'Ryu, please...! I need you!' She
somehow managed to say through the throngs of pleasure.
'I understand. It will hurt, but please
bare with it, my love. The pleasure will come after the pain.' His
voice was gentle and soothing. His lips met her own, a way to
distract her as he slid his length inside of her. It helped a little,
but she couldn't suppress the gasp of pain that she felt once her
maidenhood was taken. He looked apologetic, stilling himself despite
the pleasure surrounding his pulsing desire, wanting her to get
comfortable before continuing. True to his words, the pain soon faded
and she experimented with moving her hips. He gasped at the feeling.
'Ah, Nina...it feels good. The pain has
subsided?' His only response was her kissing him deeper, moving along
his length at a faster pace. They held each other close, and Nina
began to rub her hands against his black wings as he had done with
her. They were the source of some growing discontent in some of the
residence of the city, believing them a curse, but those giant wings
were beautiful to her and such a unique hue. His breathing became
even more ragged.
'Nina...if you do that, I'll...' He
couldn't find his voice again, Nina did not stop.
'I want you to, my love. One good turn
deserves another, right?' She whispered in his ear, and he gave in
with abandon. Their lips met again, mouths muffling their screams of
pleasure as they found sweet release. They stayed connected until his
sex organ became soft and he pulled out.
'Nina, now I will show you. With this,
no matter the fate, our lives are forever as one. A bond
unbreakable.' He was going to dispel this transformation. He stopped
suddenly, hearing a commotion outside. A guard rushed to the door and
knocked on it loudly.
'I beg your pardon, your highnesses,
but you must...' His voice died down into a gurgle. Ryu quickly
tossed the blankets over Nina, going for a sword posted on the wall
and drawing it from it's sheath. A black cloaked winged figure rushed
in, a sharp dagger in hand. The disguised Dragon was ready for him
and thrust the blade through his assailant's chest before kicking him
off the blade.
'Nina, we must get out of here
quickly!' Ryu said, going for the windows, only to have them shatter
as more assassins flew in. He cut one in half with a powerful
downward stroke. The other was about to attack him, only to be
stabbed in the back of the shoulder through his wing by Nina, a
rapier in hand.
'What's going on here? Who are you to
attack my husband like that?' She demanded, twisting the thin blade
about and making the man howl.
'Don't be deceived by that foul
creature, your highness. His wings are too dark, and his appearance
to different to be a Fae. He's an evil being.' The man yelled out.
'You are...one of the many discontent
with my appearance. Nothing good can happen because of this.
Attacking members of the Royal Family like this...' Ryu became
somber.
'Ryu, we have to stop this. Let's go to
my parents.' Nina released the man from her weapon, the tip now at
his throat.
'Get out of here if you want to live or
I won't miss your heart with the next attack.' She threatened, her
demeanor now full of authority as was required of the Royal Family.
The Fae assassin did as told, running from the room as his wing was
injured.
..........
The throne room was a ruckus of
activity. Already guards were handling most of the problem, but those
who were discontent did not fall so easily.
'This is madness! You would dare storm
my castle to get my son in law out of just because he doesn't look
like you or me? Filthy scoundrels! All of you!' The King's voice was
booming. Behind the throne sat the Queen, covering her youngest
daughter's eyes and ears from the horrible fighting. Elena and her
husband were also engaged in combat. Ryu and Nina made their way down
there.
'Leave my family out of this! All of
you! I am the one you want!' Ryu roared out, gliding to his father in
law's side with Nina. The fighting was abruptly halted, the gaze of
the enemy hostile, while his family's was of worry.
'Ryu, thank god your alright.' The King
said.
'Ryu! You disfigured Fae...you can stop
all this. Your black wings are a curse and will be the Royal Family's
undoing. Exile yourself from this place and this will all be over!'
An elderly Fae spoke. Ryu bit his bottom lip, mind torn between what
to do. A good portion of the city was involved in this he realized,
and could overrun the castle by sheer numbers alone. But he did not
want to leave Nina's side either. He could feel the gaze of his
family at his back, his wife's the strongest. He wanted to hope and
to believe in the power of the Legendary Everlasting. But would it be
for naught? He was only the second to attempt it, his brother the
first with a failed result.
'Hold on to your hope...believe in the
Legendary Everlasting...' A voice spoke from all directions. Ryu
recognized the voice.
'Fou-Lu...' His eyes widened in
surprise. The room's temperature dropped sharply.
'What is going on? This chill...' The
elder Fae said, his eyes scampering around to find the voice's
source. The cold air gathered in front of Ryu, forming his brother,
now garbed in silken blue cloth. Everyone but Ryu stared at the being
in shock.
'What...are you?' Someone asked.
'This is my brother and his family
who's lives hang in the balance. I, the Dragon formed of the frigid
glacier, Fou-Lu will never let you have them.' The Blue Dragon spoke,
crystal blue eyes piercing all other gazes with his cold nature. All
eyes widened.
'A...Dragon...?' The crowd became awed
into whispering gossip. Fou-Lu spared his bother a glance.
'What will you do, brother?' He asked.
A small smile appeared on Ryu's face. The time to come clean with
everything would happen now at this moment. He took the stride to his
brother's side.
'Look at me and know. I am indeed no
Fae. I am the Dragon formed of the raging inferno, Ryu!' He roared,
the transformation disappearing to show the Red Dragon. His gaze was
one of measured seriousness, the glint of flame in their depths.
'And I won't let you take the one I
love most dearest away from me. My Legendary Everlasting. Leave
before my rage consumes you like the volcano's eruption.' His words
spoke volumes, his convictions cemented. A hand held his clawed one,
and he turned, seeing Nina looking at him with a smile, her love for
him unchanged by his true self. His relief was even greater still.
Her gaze became serious as she looked to the residence of the city
her family watched over for so many generations.
'You should all be ashamed of
yourselves. Just because he may not be like the rest of us does not
mean my husband's mind is twisted. He is a good man through and
through, and I will continue to stand by his side, weather he was
still a Fae or as he truly is, a Dragon.' She said with her own
conviction.
..........
The revolt had been stopped, and things
had gotten slightly back to normal the following day. Ryu and his
current mortal family watched as Fou-Lu decided to return to the
Elemental World.
'Brother, I am glad that you were able
to find her. Your conviction in staying true to your beliefs has been
what saw you through.'
'Fou-Lu. Thank you. You've helped me so
much, yet I can find little to try and repay you with.'
'Think nothing of it. We are brothers.
And your mortal family is now my family. That is reward enough. I
hope it will be several more years before I have to see you. If the
legends hold true, Nina will be with you for eternity, though I know
not what it means being that she is mortal. I suppose only time will
reveal all. Farewell.' As the brother's could not make contact, they
only nodded their heads in understanding It would indeed be a very
long time before the brothers of fire and ice would see one another
again.
