When Jak woke up a few hours later, it was with a jerk of temporary panic. It took a few seconds to realize where he was and who he was with. Tess’s house. Tess and Daxter’s sleeping forms curled around him. Okay.

“Jak?” Daxter woke up immediately, peering fuzzily at him in the dimness. Long years of regular nightmares on Jak’s part had conditioned him to be awake at the first sign of upset. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, I was just surprised,” Jak reassured in a whisper. “Didn’t mean to wake you up. But, uh, now that you are awake, can you let me up?”

“Why? Not runnin’ off on us, are ya?”

“I’m thirsty and I don’t want to climb over Tess.”

“Oh. Sure thing.” Dax slipped out of bed with an obliging yawn, letting Jak get up without jostling their lady. “Come back soon. I’ll keep yer spot warm.” With that he burrowed back under the covers and came up in the spot Jak had just left, cuddling close to Tess. “Never mind. It’s my spot, now.”

Jak chuckled as he slowly walked toward the door. There was enough light to not crash into the furniture, but not enough to see where his underwear might have landed. Walking around naked was strange, to say the least, but he wasn’t going to turn the light on and disturb his friends.

Ten minutes was all it took for Jak to blind himself with the light inside the refrigerator, remind himself not to drink Tess’s yakow milk out of the carton, do a security check of the perimeter, and detour to the bathroom. He was doing fine keeping his cool as he thought back on what the three of them had done just a few hours ago, until he happened to get a good look at himself in the bathroom mirror.

“Shit…”

Jak gingerly felt at the bite-shaped bruise already visible on his shoulder. Daxter had come close to breaking the skin with that one. Despite himself Jak grinned, and a certain part of him twitched against his thigh. Oh, boy. Better stop that train of thought right there. The last thing he wanted was to crawl back in bed with a boner. Hadn’t he had enough for the night?

Apparently losing his virginity to two people at once hadn’t been enough for the night. The first thought Jak entertained when he stepped back into the bedroom and saw Daxter and Tess cuddled together, bare but for the blanket draped at their waists, was generated by the head between his legs. Daxter had his arm around Tess, pushing her breasts up becomingly as he dozed against her. Jak swallowed hard as he crept over and slid in on the redhead’s other side.

“What took you so long?” Daxter mumbled into Tess’s hair.

“Perimeter check.”

“Midnight prowling, you mean.” Dax smiled sleepily. He pulled the blanket up to carefully cover Tess, then rolled to face Jak so they could whisper without disturbing her. “Gotta be later than midnight, though.”

“Half past one, yeah.” Jak sighed as he settled back in with the blanket up to his shoulders. “Go back to sleep.”

“Not likely. You’re wide awake an’ so am I, now.”

Jak recalled all those nights that a stubborn little ottsel had lain on his chest with eyes wide open, adamantly refusing to go back to sleep until Jak did. Still Daxter, through and through. The green-blonde smiled and shut his eyes. He wasn’t tired per se, but the bed was comfortable.

“Wanna just talk fer a while?” Daxter asked softly, his ears twitching in the darkness. “Remember how we used ta lay awake in yer bed and whisper so yer uncle wouldn’t hear us and make us go ta sleep?”

“Yeah.” Jak chuckled. “I remember that.” Those were good memories. Of course, early teen-hood had seen the beginnings of them trying to muffle noises of an altogether different sort when they shared a bed. Jak’s face began to warm. And he had actually been trying not to think arousing thoughts.

The redhead rustled around, shifted a bit, and made himself comfortable. When he stilled again he was right up against Jak, their breaths mingling. “So. What do you wanna talk about?”

“Well… I know you told me to wait until tomorrow, but can I ask you something now?”

“It depends,” Daxter whispered snippily. “If it’s something that I feel like answering, I’ll answer, and if not we’ll wait until tomorrow when Tessy’s awake ta talk about it.”

Jak had to admire his brattitude. “Alright. I just wanted to know what started all this. What made you and Tess decide to bring me into it? I know you had tonight all planned out, but when did it first get brought up between you guys?”

“Um.” Dax shifted lower into the blankets. “Well, it’s… it’s been in the works fer a while. Like, more than a little while. Like, a couple months.”

“Want to talk about it?”

Daxter sighed. “I guess there’s no reason not to. Okay. So, Tess is really perceptive. I guess she gets it from bein’ a bartender or something. She knew right from the get-go that it bothered me ta leave you when I spent time with her, and then when she turned ottsel too and we were officially a couple it got even worse. She’s my girl, y’know, and yer my best friend, my partner. I was kinda lost when I had ta pick.”

“I know.” Jak was entirely sympathetic to that. He had felt the same way back in Sandover, when he had childishly felt that he had to choose between Keira and Daxter.

“You really helped me feel less guilty, pal. You and Tessy were both really great at sharin’ me, even though it can’t be easy to share the attentions of someone as ridiculously amazing as Orange Lightning.” He gave Jak a playful nudge under the blanket. “That worked out pretty good fer a while. I’d see Tess every time we came back from Spargus, spend a couple days with her, then me and you’d be back out there doin’ what the Demolition Duo does. It was real great.”

“And then?”

“And then Tess started figuring out that I felt more for ya than just best pal warm-an’-fuzzies.” Daxter laughed quietly. “Like I said, she’s waaay perceptive. And I, uh, might’a maybe said yer name one night by mistake.”

Jak slapped a palm to his forehead. “Ouch.”

“Yeah. She took it real well, though. She even asked me if I wanted ta call it all off an’ just be with you. But I couldn’t do that, ‘cause I love her like crazy, too.” He shrugged a little helplessly. “That’s where I’d be up the creek if Tessy wasn’t the most amazingly wonderful girl in the world.”

Jak took a moment to soak that information in. Tess had taken a huge gamble. Allowing him into their bed for a fun little fling that could be called off with no emotional hang-ups was one thing. Knowing that her boyfriend actually loved Jak as deeply as he loved her and allowing Jak in regardless was quite another. “She really kind of is amazing, isn’t she?”

“You better believe it, bub. I think we had that conversation. Anyway. Once Tess brought up that maybe the three of us could do this and make it work, we decided ta try it.” Dax sighed. “She took it even better than me, I think.”

“How’s that?”

The redhead’s long ears drooped. “Can I tell ya a secret?”

“Sure. Anything.”

“I was kinda worried that when we got goin’… maybe you’d decide you didn’t really like bein’ with a guy all that much. Maybe you’d like it with Tess more than me. That’s how threesomes usually go, right?” Daxter’s words became more and more muffled as he pulled the blanket up and nuzzled his face into it pettishly, obviously embarrassed. “Or I thought that maybe… this is really stupid, but I got thinking that Tess might like bein’ with you more than she liked it with me.”

Jak was entirely dumbstruck.

“Pretty stupid, right?” Dax laughed weakly. “I know you guys would never do that to me, but I even had this dream one time where—”

The hero didn’t let him finish. He pulled his friend to him in a tight hug. “There’s no way Tess will ever be less than crazy about you, Dax,” he whispered into an ear flicking with surprise. “You’re her snookums, right? Her Daxxie-waxxie? Her little snuggle-muffin honey-bunny whisker-puss? The first time she made love to you, you were two feet tall and covered in fur, for Precursors’ sake. She’s always going to love you.”

“Oh, shut up,” Dax giggled. “Thanks, Jak. Yer right.”

“I’m the hero. I’m supposed to be right.” Jak exhaled against his partner’s forehead, ruffling the strands of bright red and orange. He had been holding back from doing what he was about to do, but—it was alright now, wasn’t it? He tilted his head until his lips brushed Daxter’s. “And for the record. I definitely, definitely liked it with you, Dax.”

Daxter made a soft, happy noise and melted into the kiss, squirming up against Jak without hesitation. Perhaps their earlier activities had let him take the edge off. All the assertive dominance he’d had going on before seemed to have vanished, leaving a supple redhead more than willing to be cuddled and kissed.

“Shouldn’t we wait until morning?” Jak breathed regretfully as they paused for air. “We’ll wake Tess up.”

“Maybe she wants to go again, too,” Dax argued, rotating his hips against Jak’s in a very convincing way.

“Okay. But you wake her up and ask.”

“You got it.” Dax grinned and rolled over, snuggling up to the sleeping blonde’s back. “Tessy? Sweetie? Pumpkin?”

Jak watched in amusement as Tess was coaxed to quasi-wakefulness. It was obvious that Daxter knew what he was doing in that department, and it made Jak chuckle to think that maybe he hadn’t been the only one who got no sleep on the nights Dax spent with Tess. And maybe this was why Daxter always slept in for several days on his return.

“Mmm? What is it, Daxxie?” Tess murmured as he left little kisses up the back of her neck.

“You up fer another round, babe? I’m tryin’ ta talk Jak into it.”

She smiled and reached up to palm his cheek without opening her eyes. “I’m still awful sleepy, Daxxie-kins. Can you and Jak play together this time?”

“You sure?” Jak asked. “We might keep you awake anyway.” He personally didn’t think it would be possible to sleep in the same bed with two people not only moving around, but making noise.

Tess looked back over her shoulder to give him a sleepy smirk. “I never said I wouldn’t watch.”

“Ooh, kinky Tessy,” Daxter purred as she rolled over languidly to face them.

Jak didn’t know whether to be shy or turned on with her watching, all sleepy bedroom eyes and bare, luscious curves under the sheets. He settled for turned on as Daxter pulled his attention away from their audience and began to rub up against him again.

“C’mon, Jak. I thought you said you wanted ta nail me. You gonna sex me up, or not?”

“Patience is a virtue,” Jak reminded, easily pinning the redhead to the bed. “You might have to help me out on this, though.”

“Sure thing, babe. Ah, where’d the lube go?”

They found the bottle after a quick search. It had been kicked off the bed and rolled partially under the dust ruffle, its contents shaken but not leaked. Jak was glad. He didn’t want any hitches in what they were about to do. When Daxter had been the one inside him, it hadn’t hurt in the least. He wanted to extend the same favor, and if that meant using up the rest of the damn bottle then he would do it.

“What’s the best way to do this? I don’t want to hurt you or anything.”

“Fingers first, like I did you. Just go slow an’ make it really slick. It’ll be fine.”

“Okay. Here goes nothing.” Jak smiled a little nervously as he got the bottle open and slicked his fingers as he’d been told.

Tess giggled a little from her spot among the pillows. “Don’t worry about it too much, Jak. Daxxie’s been practicing for this, too.”

“Uh, wait, whoa!” Daxter said anxiously, shifting against the digits at his entrance. “We really don’t hafta talk about that right now!”

Jak unfroze, realizing that Dax hadn’t been trying to tell him to stop. He stroked the lube around gently, looking curiously at Tess. “You know you have to tell me now, right? How has he been practicing?”

“You don’t hafta tell him a damn thing!” the redhead began, then sucked in a gasp when a finger slid smoothly into him. “Ah! Jak, yer hands are real big—!”

Sensing that this probably wasn’t a bad thing, the racer began to slowly slip the finger in and out while he stroked Daxter’s hardness with his free hand. Damn, that was hot. He did manage to glance back at Tess though, who was watching the action intently from under half-lidded eyes. “You were saying, Tess?”

“Oh, yeah! So, like, it was actually pretty funny, Jak. Me and Daxxie have always liked to play around with lots of things, so one night I brought home the cutest little strap-on harness. You should totally see it, it’s the sweetest thing—”

“Tessy, please,” Daxter whined entreatingly, an arm coming up to cover his blushing face as Jak stretched him carefully.

“Ah, sorry. I got a little distracted. So anyway, Jak, we were playing around with it and some of my toys, and Daxxie was really enjoying it. I was so thrilled he wanted to play that way, too. He’s such a little trooper. He got so into it, it was just adorable, and then when he suddenly squealed your name—”

“I did not squeal!” Daxter moaned into his hands.

Jak almost laughed. His friend’s ears were as red as his hair now. Jak wriggled in another finger and stroked soothingly, inside and out, hoping to keep Dax wanting it so badly he wouldn’t get up in a huff of embarrassment.

“So that’s what happened, huh?” He had to admit that the mental images there were amazing. Dax taking it from Tess and her toys, pretending it was Jak inside him, getting so lost in the fantasy that he slipped and actually said Jak’s name. “I’d like to see that sometime.”

“Oh, screw you!” the redhead choked out, stuttering a bit as he started moving back against Jak’s fingers.

“Sorry, Dax. My turn now, remember?” Jak smirked.

“And he should be plenty prepared,” Tess assured from her pillow nest. She had slipped a hand under the blanket. A lump in the covers could be seen, slowly moving back and forth between her legs. “After that night we talked it all over and decided to jump—ah, invite you to join us, Jak. And Daxxie thought it might be good if he got a little practice taking things, too. To make tonight easier, you know.”

“So, you’re saying I have to be better than these toys if I want to impress him, is that it?”

Daxter was panting now, hands clenched in the blankets as he rocked against Jak. His eyelids fluttered almost helplessly. Freckles stood out against skin flushed with pleasure and embarrassment. “Hey! I’m still here, y’know! And if story time is over with, then yeah, I’d suggest you try an’ impress me before I come all over yer hand, smart-ass.”

“Oh, go ahead. I’m still nailing you, though.”

“Promises, promises.”

Jak huffed and covered a smart mouth with his non-lubed hand. “Just shut up and nod if you’re ready, Dax.”

The redhead nodded enthusiastically and a hot, wet tongue laved Jak’s palm. Someone was eager. But, then again, he had been waiting for this for months. If not longer. Jak swallowed and pulled his hand back, shifting his hips into what he figured would be an acceptable position. Daxter immediately followed suit, wrapping around the racer in a tangle of lean arms and legs.

“Come on, big guy. Let’s give Tessy somethin’ ta work with, huh?”

Jak nuzzled his friend’s neck as he wrapped a hand around to steady himself and pushed slowly forward. The whine Daxter let out sounded like the noises he had made as an ottsel getting a really good back scratch—ecstatic. His arms tightened around Jak’s neck as he was filled, hands fisting in green-gold hair. Jak let out a shuddering breath as he settled flush against Daxter’s body.

“So which is better, Daxxie? The toys, or Jak?” Tess’s teasing coo was wrapped in layers of sleepy pleasure as she fingered herself leisurely, watching the two next to her.

“Jak wins, Jak wins!” Dax gasped unabashedly, tucking his face against Jak’s neck as his muscles involuntarily clenched and relaxed, adjusting to accommodate the intruder.

For his part, Jak really wished he had thought to find his strappy-thingy among the mess of blankets. He had known that Daxter would be tighter than Tess by virtue of basic anatomy, but damn! The redhead was almost painfully tight around him, even after stretching and enough lube to make the sheets reek of artificial strawberries. If Jak lasted longer than two minutes it would be a miracle.

Luckily, Dax seemed equally worked up. He panted against the tender skin of Jak’s throat, kissing and nipping frantically. “Move, Jak, please!”

Having spent years harboring the fantasy of being poised over Daxter and thrusting, Jak had zero problem following that request. It thrilled him to hear a stuttered but unending flow of breathless exclamations and encouragements against his ear.

“Just hang on, there, hero,” Daxter purred, straddling Jak’s lap with speed that said he had been plotting the move. “I gotta ride ya or I’m gonna go nuts!”

Beside them, Tess quirked a brow. “That’s new.”

Daxter’s ears went back as he guided a stunned Jak back inside himself and shuddered in pleasure. “I never tried before ‘cause I didn’t wanna hurt you, Tessy. Oooh, yeah, that’s what I mean, right there! Dammit, Jak, yer in so deep!”

“Aww, my snookums is so thoughtful!” The blonde was rubbing herself harder than ever as she took in the new and improved view. Her lips were shiny as a little pink tongue darted thoughtlessly over them.

Jak didn’t stay shocked for long, even as the slim form on top of him began to move experimentally up and down. Daxter was terribly impatient and impossibly difficult when he was denied something he wanted. Jak should have expected a maneuver like that from his friend. That didn’t mean he couldn’t retaliate, though. Just as Dax was reaching for his own painfully red cock, Jak grabbed his wrists.

“Hey! What’s the big idea?!”

The racer smirked as he bucked his hips hard, earning a startled cry. “Still nailing you, you know.” He held on tight; despite Daxter’s best efforts, Jak’s arm strength was infinitely superior, and he had no problem keeping the smaller guy’s hands off himself.

“Jak, let go! That’s totally not fair!”

Jak laughed at the wail of frustration. “All’s fair in love and war, right Dax? But if you ask real nicely, Tess might give you a hand.”

Daxter’s focus immediately switched blondes. He whimpered pitifully. “Tessy, please help me! I wanna come so bad and Jak’s bein’ a di-i-ick!” The last word was followed by a high moan as Jak started to thrust in earnest, lifting his hips off the mattress with each upward motion and bouncing Daxter in his lap. “Sweet fuckin’ Precursors—!”

Tess sat up and crawled the scant distance between them at once. Apparently she wasn’t tired enough to ignore such a plea. “Oh, poor baby! Let me help.”

Jak propped himself on his elbows to watch as she wrapped a hand around Daxter’s arousal—probably to keep herself from being choked when they moved, he thought—and then bent her head. The muscles of the redhead’s wrists flexed in Jak’s grip as his hands fisted convulsively.

“Ooooh, gods,” Dax managed to moan, eyes sliding shut and ears flagging in bliss. Tess hummed an assent around him while her free hand toyed between her legs.

That gave Jak a bright idea. “Tess. Move over here?”

She glanced up at him quizzically, but got the hint quick enough when he jerked his chin to beckon her closer. “Like, wow, Jak. Are you sure?”

“Yeah, it’ll be fine.” Jak swallowed a bit nervously as she nodded and rearranged herself; straddling Jak rather than coming at Daxter from the side. Now that she had decided to join them after all, they wouldn’t leave her high and dry.

After the first lick it was hard to think. Tess squealed as Jak simply closed his eyes and let his tongue do the work, repeating whatever moves got the best reactions out of the blonde. He never let go of Daxter, who praised and begged and swore as both Jak inside him and Tess’s hand around him shoved him toward the edge. When Tess began to squirm and rock Jak lost the ability to breathe very well, but it was a small price to pay for that kind of heaven.

Daxter came first with a shout of what started as Jak’s name but morphed halfway through into a shrill, keening cry and ended in what was almost an ottsel’s trill. He pulled away from Jak’s grip to palm Tess’s chest with shaking hands and whimpered delightedly as she clung to him, riding out her own release with an incoherent wail of pleasure. Jak followed her almost immediately, dizzy both from being on his back with less air than normal and the knowledge that he had made both his friends come. He couldn’t ask for more than that.

“Okay,” Dax panted hoarsely, “Jak, you are amazing.”

“Totally, baby,” Tess agreed, slumping exhaustedly into the redhead’s arms.

Peeling apart was a lot more awkward than getting into position had been, but they managed. Tess moved back first, careful not to knee Jak in the head. Daxter though sat in his lap a little longer, looking somehow reluctant to break contact.

“This. Again. Soon.” He grinned tiredly down at Jak, petting the racer’s chest absently as he rocked against him. “I’m damn impressed, big guy. First night an’ yer already doin’ us both at once. Got that wild instinct, like an animal. Grr!”

Jak rolled over and sat up somewhat unsteadily as his friend finally left his lap. His body buzzed with pleasant aftershocks. “Never trust the quiet ones.”

“Now ya tell us!”

The bowl of water and the cloths were still on the dresser, and Jak figured he should probably wash his face. He climbed out of bed for the second time that night, accompanied by a cheeky slap on the ass from Daxter. “Hey! Watch it, you little shit, or next time you’ll be squealing for a different reason.”

“Ooh, I’m scared! Protect me, Tessy!”

When he got back to bed, goatee and strands of hair wet with cold water and smelling like soap, Tess and Daxter were snuggled up again. Tess was already dozing off, but she made a contented little sound as Jak crawled back in and wrapped an arm around them both.

Daxter sighed, sandwiched in the warm spot between them. His head fit under Jak’s chin perfectly as he held Tess to his own chest. “G’night, guys. Sweet dreams.”

Jak smiled as his eyes drifted closed. That would be nice, but he didn’t need dreams. Now he had the real thing.

The smell of bacon frying woke Jak and Daxter the next morning.

Jak blinked at the ceiling as he struggled to process what had happened the night before. Dinner with his best friends. Sex with his best friends. Lots of sex. Holy mother of Precursors. He looked over as Daxter stirred next to him, stretching luxuriously in the blankets.

“If there’s scrambled eggs to go with that bacon, we might have to buy Tessy something sparkly.” The redhead sat up, yawned, shook his head briskly, and surveyed the wreck the three of them had made of the room. Three sets of clothes were still scattered. A mostly empty bottle of lube lay sideways on the nightstand. The fitted bottom sheet was pulled loose from the bed. “Oh, yeah. It was a good night, big guy.”

Jak searched for something intelligent to say. “Yeah.” Oh, so intelligent.

Dax grinned. “Share a shower, or do I hafta fight ya for it?”

“Share,” he agreed. What he wanted to do when Daxter stepped out of bed naked was drag him off to the shower caveman style, but the racer had a feeling that would be frowned upon before breakfast.

They scrubbed down without too many instances of wandering hands, though Dax couldn’t seem to help himself once or twice. The playful gropes reassured Jak that all was well. Not exactly normal, but well. Daxter and Tess had claimed that a one night stand wasn’t what they were after from him, and if Dax was still acting this way the next morning, maybe that was really true.

When they finally made it to the kitchen, wearing their clothes from the night before but still clean and brushed, the truth became even more apparent. The two weren’t done with Jak. Not by a long shot.

“Breakfast is ready!” Tess chirped, winking over her shoulder at them.

Jak nearly swallowed his tongue at the sight. Tess had obviously showered and primped before the men woke up, and was standing at the stove flipping pancakes in a frilly apron. In nothing but a frilly apron.

“Damn, I love clichés,” Daxter whispered reverently from beside him as Tess laughed.

“Eat first,” she warned with a grin, tapping her palm with the spatula when it looked like the redhead wasn’t going to be able to keep his hands to himself. “And then we play some more. Okay?”

Jak couldn’t deny that his eyes didn’t want to peel themselves off the blonde. She was all long, smooth, creamy legs and a perfectly round, perfectly plump, perfectly grab-able little butt… He made himself sit down at the table. The roses from the night before looked even prettier now. Daxter reluctantly sat down next to him and they watched Tess as she expertly flipped up the pancakes and brought a platter of them to the table.

“Is that drool for my pancakes, or something else?” she cooed, rubbing the tip of Daxter’s ear between the fingers of one hand and tickling under Jak’s goatee with the other.

Jak shoved a piece of bacon into his mouth. It was gonna be a long breakfast.

When Tess sat down too it became easier to concentrate on the food. They were all three hungry, and the spread quickly started to disappear. Jak jumped and put his orange juice down with a clatter when two feet landed on his under the table. He blinked at Daxter and Tess. They smiled back.

Okay. So three-way footsie was fun.

When Jak’s communicator began to go off, all three perked their ears. Jak had forgotten he had even brought the thing with him.

“Stay there, I got it.” Daxter disappeared into the living room and gave a triumphant yell a moment later. “Found it! Was in the couch cushions. Hello?”

“Wonder who that is?” Jak said absently as Tess indulged him with the last egg.

“Yeah, we’re in town. Why?” Daxer strolled back in and resumed his seat at the table. He shook his head negatively when Jak reached for the com and shooed the green-blonde back. “What? No. No way in hell, man! We’re busy.”

“Dax, is that Torn?”

“I said no! Did you go deaf since we last saw ya or did the tattoo ink finally sink into yer brain?”

Jak grabbed for the device but missed. “Give it to me, Dax, I’m serious!”

“Silence, love slave, this doesn’t concern you!” Daxter scrambled out of his chair and around the table to hide behind Tess, who laughed helplessly into her napkin at the dumbstruck look on Jak’s face. “Now then. We are here to see Tess. Not spend our break runnin’ pointless errands. So get off yer tattooed tush an’ do it yer damn self!”

“You tell ‘em, Daxxie!” Tess cheered.

Jak continued to gape as Daxter clicked off the com and dropped it next to the grape jelly. “Did Torn just hear you call me a love slave?”

“Yes, yes he did. Dang, I should’a said ‘we are here to see Tess, and then she and I will be having wicked hot sex with our hero-boy,’ huh? That’s what I told Sig when I bribed him not to call and want us back in Spargus for at least a week.”

“Please no.” Jak had buried his red-hot face in his hands. “You really didn’t say that to Sig. Right?”

“Damn skippy I did. He was real supportive, too. Said somethin’ like, ‘Hot damn, Jak’s finally getting laid! Maybe he’ll stop blowing up parts of my city if he lets off a little steam. You and Tess work him good, Daxter.’ That’s what he said.”

“You’re a terrible liar, snookums,” Tess said mildly. She stood up, stretched, and moved to stand behind Jak, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and resting her chin on top of his head. “So, Jak, do you think you’re going to be able to stand us?”

“Of course he will!” Dax put his hands on his hips in consternation. “If he doesn’t, then that completely ruins all the plans I made for our super sexy awesome week of bonding-ness!”

Jak raised his face from his hands and quirked a brow. Say what?

“You heard me! I got it all planned out. We’ll spend the whole week together with no interruptions, just the three of us. Movies, shopping, dinners out. Y’know… kinda like a honeymoon.”

“Oooh, Daxxie, how romantic!” Tess squealed.

“You know it, baby-cakes. And we’ll have sex; all the sex we want. There’s still so much we have ta introduce you to, Jak! Positions, toys, massages, lingerie—”

“You’d dress up in a teddy for me, Dax? That’s so sweet.”

This time it was the redhead who flushed deeply. “Uh, w-what?”

Tess leaned down to whisper conspiratorially in Jak’s ear. “You know, I have the cutest little maid outfit, all black with white ruffles and lace. I bet it would fit him.”

“Hey! Tessy, don’t give him weird ideas!”

“No, Tess, keep talking. I’m liking this. Do you have anything in satin? Maybe a jewel tone?” Jak had begun to grin, glancing up to meet her eyes. They had never said they loved each other. But for the first time, he could see that they would. It might take a while, but they would someday.

“Heck with this!” Daxter huffed, still pink-cheeked under his freckles. “So are we three an inclusive combo pack now, or what?”

Jak smiled a little timidly. “I’m in if you guys are.”

Tess in her cute little apron hugged his neck from behind and Daxter landed in his lap with a triumphant whoop, nearly knocking the chair over. Jak basked in the resulting hugs and kisses and allowed himself to be towed off into the bedroom. They left the breakfast dishes on the table; three places set around a vase of red roses.
