In this story the Argonian is 4-5 years compared to a human, mostly written from the point of view of an overwhelmed, young mind.
It is all about surviving, finding someone to cling to who is not a danger and beeing treated nice. Children are quite adaptable, often sensing what they need to do so others treat them nice and don´t harm them..same here. He sees the ship as a swimming hut and the rooms as smaller huts because at home there were single room huts, nothing big, metal not known and so on...

Serious sexual stuff starts later. Mer see other races in modern times still as inferior, at the time of the Aldmer and Ayleids it surely was much worse, so the Argonian youngster is seen as an animal and treated like one.

And now, let´s start

It hadn´t been so bad after a while.

At first it had been horrible, how they all looked at him and he still feared an attack like the mage had done..but there was sunlight and he swayed between searching for a nice place to sunbath or just craning his neck up to the sunlight and twitching warily because of all the strange beeings walking around.

The big light one tied him to a tree without branches and leaves which grew out of the hut they were on and he curled up there after he had probed the thing over his head with his fingers and claws, unable to make it loose.

So he just soaked up the sun with the big light one and others like him nearby, scratching on leaves and using strange things they held up, sometimes in front of their eyes.

He didn´t know what it was, what they did, but it reminded him off the stargazing some of his tribe did, except it was day and there were no stars.

No one bothered him, they just walked past him as long as the nice one was near, sometimes they would stop and eye him warily as he did with them...they were big and scary.

The one in whose hut he had been kept was not the only light one..the fur on his hair was shorter and he was slimmer than some of the others...the light one who had hurt him was bulkier.

The bad one also wore other clothing, it puzzled him because at home the grown ups had only worn clothing for festivities, putting coloured cloth woven from plant fibres on themselves. Colourfull stones and shells..and sometimes other things they had collected from the marsh..and those beeings were always on a festivity it seemed, why else should they were those clothes?

This were his thoughts at first, but after a while he thought about how warm the cloth had been in which he had snuggled in his cage, comfortable like a cuddle. Maybe this was why they wore clothes all the time.

The nice light one had a long cloth, white and light brown, it went down to his ankles and he had also cloth on his feet..maybe because they looked so soft like the skin of a fresh born one and couldn´t endure beeing without clothes.

Whistling reached his ears as he napped in the sun, he didn´t dare to move away from the branchless, leafless tree he was tied too even when the rope allowed it.

But the whistling made him look up and watch one of the beeings that cleaned the floor of the hut they were on.

This one had brown fur on his head and was not as dark skinned as the one who had dragged him in the hut after he had been caught...this one was also much smaller..maybe a different species or a younger one?

The whistling wasn´t understandable to him, but it was a merry melody and made him itch all over, wanting to whistle too.

After a searchingly look around if the bad light one was around and realising that this one wasn´t, he whistled, imitating the melody.

The smaller one who had cleaned the deck, flinched and looked around to see who had 'answered' him, his eyes landing on the small lizard who started to cower again, maybe he had done something wrong again.

But than the smaller scary one grinned and whisteld again, making the youngster perk up, cocking his head to the side and whistling back.

Soon it was a wild whistling from both of them, one whistling, the other imitating and in the end both of them together, the argonian jerking from side to side with his body while he whistled because the whistling stranger jerked with his arms and he imitated that also, just he couldn´t do it with his arms.

Laughter startled him badly, having been immersed in the melody, he had completly forgotten where he was, flinching away and trying to make himself invisible small again, pressing himself against the trunk of the tree without bark.

But when nothing bad happened he let his tail fall from his eyes, blinking up...around..and the dark one who had dragged him, whistled, starring down at him with a grin, waiting.

Timid at first, the youngster whistled back, much more softly than before and the laughter that came from the strange mix of beeings, standing around him, made him flinch again.

But soon he understood that they wanted to hear him whistle back...and so the first barrier was broken.
