Chapter 4
During the two days Teller had been back in Archerus, she raked Thassarian over the coals for what he'd done to her. He'd felt terrible about her resurrection since the moment she'd crawled out of the grave in the dark of the night, her glowing eyes seeking his, freshly resurrected remembrance on her face.
“Thassarian?...” she'd whispered in her newly changed voice before collapsing onto the soft grass.
“ Damn it, what on azeroth have I done?”, he muttered, cursing himself for stooping to this dishonor. Picking her body up off the ground, he thought to put her back, but in order to do that, he'd have to literally rip her apart and he just didn't have the heart to do it. This woman had been his cousin in life and while he didn't have those warm feelings anymore, he just couldn't kill her now that he'd brought her back.
“ Well, I might as well finish what I've started,” he thought to himself, cleaning her up and porting them both to Ebon Hold. He spent the next week training her as a death knight recruit, sending her through all the trials of every other recruit that was resurrected. A week later when she was ready to leave, he had sent her to Stormwind to torment Banker with her presence, as was his original intention.
Thassarian wasn't terribly surprised by Bankers outraged response and even though he felt extreme guilt over Anne's resurrection, he felt a sense of victory at the torment he'd caused Banker. When Teller had ported back to Ebon Hold with Banker's message, Thass though twice but decided to follow through with the decision he'd already made to give her free will.
He'd never intended to hold her when he'd rezzed her, that wasn't something he'd even thought about. He'd honestly not thought any further than the reaction he'd wanted and received from Banker. Guilt ridden, he released Teller from his grip on her mind and watched as the transformation over took her from mindless pawn to relatively “whole” individual.
Looking at Thassarian and recognizing him, tears formed in her glowing eyes. “WHY?!”, she asked, temper rising, “ WHY did you DO this to me? How COULD you?!” Crying out in anger, Teller glared at him. “ Do you know I have NOTHING? I AM nothing? I have NO ONE...I didn't ASK FOR THIS!”, Teller spat, shaken to her ice cold core with fury.
” I'm a MONSTER now....just like you.” She hissed at him, lashing out.
“ I have no excuse for what I've done Anne...take your free will and go back to Banker...” Thass softly replied in the face of her hatred. “ BACK to BANKER??! He isn't going to want a cold monster of an undead wife Thass!” What in the WORLD were you THINKING?”, Teller screamed at him. Leaving Ebon Hold, Teller had just enough change in her pockets to get her as far as Shattrath city by night fall. No one there paid any attention to the cold, sorrow filled death knight as she slept on a balcony because she had no gold for lodging.
The next morning after little sleep, Teller was laying, watching the city below her come to life as she was approached from behind by a tall Draenei female. “ Hello, Ms Teller?”, the woman spoke to her gently in a sweet, child-like voice. “Miss, my name is Trophy and I've come to help you, if you'd like me to.” Eutropia sat down on the ground a few feet behind the indifferent death knight.
“ Why would you want to help me, I don't know you.”, Teller grumbled, sitting up and turning to face the shaman. “ Well,” Trophy said, considering the question, “ I like to help people and you sure seem like you could use some help. Not to mention that Mr. Banker asked me to come to you.”
“Ha,” Teller laughed sarcastically, “ I don't know why he sent you, he already basically said he didn't want me.”
“Well, I don't know about that but it seems to me that if he didn't want anything to do with you, he wouldn't have asked me to help you get your memories back,” Trophy said to her, as she studied her curiously.
“Psh,” Teller said, looking down at her hands, the skin on them a paler version of what she'd had in life, “ I'm a monster.”
“ Well I don't think you're a monster, I think you're beautiful.”, Trophy replied innocently. Looking over at her cautiously, Teller thought for awhile. “ You know....even if Banker doesn't want to keep me, it may be best to remember what I can.”
Getting up and coming to sit directly in front of Teller, Eutropia placed her hands gently on either side of Teller's temples and said “ OK, here goes”. Trophy began to chant and a slow stream of her healing energies began to flow unto Tellers undead body, springing to life thoughts and images that swirled in her mind, leaving her dizzy and nauseated.
Finishing her spells, Eutropia slowly took her hands from Tellers head and sat back on her heels. “Well?” she asked. “um....uh....whoa...it's...it's so much”, Teller whispered, holding her head in her shaking hands.
“ Some memories will flash in and others will take time, but gradually, you should recover most of your memories. The gateway is open now so you may find that things people say will trigger memories, so I feel I should warn you...” Trophy was saying but Teller's face was stricken already, seeing smoke and feeling a phantom pain in her stomach....remembering reaching out and seeing....Joseph's....Banker's....face, mouth forming words that Teller couldn't hear before seeing the clouds and then blackness...
” Ms. Teller, are you okay?” Trophy was shaking her gently.
“Huh?...oh uh...yea..tha...thank you...I n..need to..I think I need to...” The world spun around before she blacked out.
Minutes later, laying in Eutropia's lap, Teller opened her eyes, surrounded by totems. “ You fainted Ms. Teller”, Trophy said, “ You're going to have to take the memories slowly so that you can handle them.” Sitting up slowly, Teller thanked Eutropia for all of her help and Trophy helped get her to her feet.
“ Are you sure you're ok to walk?” Trophy asked. “Yes...I'll be fine...I have to get to Stormwind. I have to tell Banker I'm free and see if he will take me as I am before I go any further.”
