But suddenly an axe came striking down, putting an end to the slime as Jaha cheered. “And he won't have to if we keep working together like this!”

Now they took a rest and looked around. “Is that all of them?” Chester asked, not seeing anything else around.

Bowie stepped up beside him so that they were all standing together. “We aren't at the town of Yeel yet. I remember there being a couple more up ahead.”

Sarah sighed, “Wow these fights really take it out of you. I think I have maybe one more cure spell left before I need to rest and recharge.” The others nodded as they stuck together carefully as they proceeded. Sure enough another slime came out of the treeline toward them and they could hear a rat scurrying about just beyond.

“Don't worry,” he encouraged as he ran forward, “We can do it! We just need to get… STRONGER!” He yelled, throwing his spear. After this the rat began its approach but was not close enough to attack yet.

Now it was Sarah's turn to yell. “Bowie, I can't believe you! If you knew that someone already had the information then why didn't you speak to about it?!”

“Well I wanted to…” He began. “But then I thought that the King wouldn't let us go on this adventure.” He said, sounding as if he were more making excuses.

But then Chester stepped up and pushed them both up the road. “Alright, alright. No use fighting over it now.” He said as they walked passed an elderly gentleman who welcomed them into town. As they ventured forward they saw that Yeel was constructed between the end of two other mountains. There were rows of houses that lined each side of the street. As they approached the first home Chester said, “Well I guess we better start looking for this Hawel then.” And then he knocked on the front door. “Hello? Anybody home?” But there was no answer.

Then Bowie walked up and tried the door handle seeing that it was unlocked. “Hello?” He called, letting himself into the home.

“Bowie!” Sarah shouted, shocked by his brashness. They looked around as they followed him inside. There was definitely no one home. However a moment later Sarah looked over seeing their leader pulling a handful of berries and grapes from a holding vase in the room. “BOWIE!” She shouted again, shockingly disappointed with his behavior as he stuck them in his pocket.

“What?!” He said before Sarah marched over and dragged him back outside before they were arrested for stealing. As they proceeded on they passed a few children and wandering chickens that stood in the road. Further on they found a local pub that had several adults sitting within. There was an old couple discussing peace and war at a table but Bowie walked up to the bartender to see if he could help.

Jaha called out excitedly from the back of the group. “Hiya, we're looking for a historian who is supposed to live in town!”

Chuckling a bit the bartender nodded. “Hawel? Yes, I know him. He's famous, and he's kind of a screwball. He lives northwest of the village. You can't miss it.” He said before returning to his duties.

As they made their way outside Chester spoke up, “Northwest of the village? Screwball? Is this guy a hermit?”

Sarah added in, “It seems like we still have some more travel to do.” At this Bowie just nodded and led the way up the street for them to continue.

As they passed a few townspeople though a mother with her child smiled to their group. “Are you from Galam too?” She asked. But when the four of them looked to each other confused she said, “No? Many Galam Soldiers asked me where Hawel lives. Hawel, Hawel, Hawel! Why is he so important? He's just an old man!” She said with a bit of frustration. Meanwhile her son went on about the soldiers armor and her daughter seemed to be swooning over the leader of the Galam army.

As they stepped away Sarah stopped the boys saying, “Why would Galam soldiers be searching for Hawel?”

Chester turned to her. “Do you think they are trying to help us?”

Sarah shook her head. “How could they? Even our soldiers don't know about Hawel. That's why we were sent. I have a bad feeling about this. Bowie Bowie proceeded forward but again Sarah stopped him. “Just a second, there is a church here. It is important to pay our respects.”

Jaha laughed and said, “Are you just saying that because you're a priest?”

But then Sarah seemed to get mad as she yelled, “I'm saying it because it is good for the soul!” Then she kicked Jaha in the shin making him hop up and down in pain. Bowie led them inside and they spent an hour visiting with the Priest there and telling of their tale. Once they were finished they made their way outside.

Jaha stepped up saying. “It's still daylight out but it's getting pretty late. While we're in town maybe we should stay for the night.”

“We can rest when we get to Hawel’s.” Sarah said urgently. “I am really worried about that woman telling us that Galam soldiers came by. I think we really messed up by not getting here yesterday.”

Understanding that she had a point Bowie nodded and said, “Then let's get there quickly before any more time goes by." Sarah smiled at being listened to and followed Bowie up the road to the exit to town. Once they got there though they saw two other teens blocking the path. “Excuse me.” Bowie said to the boy in long orange robes.

He turned to him with long red hair and said, “What can I do for you?”

“We are trying to get to Mr. Hawel.” Sarah said from behind Bowie.

“Oh, you would like to see my master?” He asked but sounded a little pompous as he did so. “I am studying at his house. Please follow me.” He instructed as if he were used to others following his direction.

(Bowie decided to follow Kazin)

“Sir Hawel lives just outside of this village.” He announced. But Bowie looked back at Sarah and they both shared an expression that Hawel’s location was rather obvious at this point. Sarah noticed the blonde girl who had been standing with him was still making lovey eyes towards the Kazin but so far she could not see what she saw in him.

**Author's Ending Note** So lots of clumsy teenaged sexiness to start the chapter off followed by a bit of plot to wrap Yeel up in a single chapter. It's a small town but I think I did a good job of making it interesting. And now there is a sensible reason for stopping by every church in the game to save. I'm having fun finding plot excuses to justify regular game mechanics.
As for the battles, yes I am actually playing the game and writing the scenes out from that. So far Bowie, Chester and Jaha are level 4 while Sarah is level 2. But I'm not worried about Sarah because she will quickly surprise all the other characters in power.
On a personal note, in my game I renamed Bowie because I never really liked that as a first name. I think it makes a better last name. But I am.sticking with Bowie for the story just so readers don't get confused.
