Nate rang the bell that was at the entrance of fort independence signaling for everyone to come around and pay attention, some more minutemen had come around hearing that the castle had been attacked.
Nate was up upon the north wall looking over all the minutemen the was left. According to the rest of the minutemen survivors, the brotherhood of steel flew to all the other the minutemen settlements and massacred the settlers that refused to get on the Vertibirds. Only some settlers were able to run away without getting shot.
All of the minutemen settlements have been taken over by the brotherhood except the Castle, even the castle had been badly damaged.
The people following the minutemen had lost hoped and joined the BOS. It was that or imprisonment. The ones that stayed and fought for the minutemen at the settlements were killed or fell back due the overwhelming power of the BOS.
The last of the minutemen fell back to the castle. The last standing refuge for the minutemen even then they were struggling to keep the BOS out of the castle.
“we will fall back, we can’t win this at the moment, but we will persevere, we will survive, we won’t give up. We can go to a place where the BOS have no influence and re-group. This place far harbor, is really dangerous, no more dangerous then here, but we got no option. It has synths in there taking refuge from the outside world. Piper, you will lead curie and Codsworth, with a tiny group of minutemen, about five of your choice, to them and make peace, also try to find a place to make a settlement. MacCready and Hancock, you stay here and defend the castle while the rest of the minutemen pack all the resources that can help us and make sure you sabotage the mortars.” Nate ordered.
“What will you do general?” a random minuteman shouted out.
“I will check on the railroad, we need all the allies we can get” Nate answered “Cait you’re with me and piper while you’re at red rocket getting Codsworth, take my son as well. Ok now do your assigned tasks”.
Nate walked down the stairs while all the minutemen got to their jobs. Cait walked up to Nate and asked where they were going to.
“Red rocket” Nate replied.
As Nate and Cait arrived at the petrol station, they noticed Codsworth, piper, curie, and Shaun, with a group of 5 minutemen about to leave. Shaun saw Nate and quickly ran up to his father.
“what’s happening father?” Shaun asked.
“the brotherhood of steel attacked us, now we need regroup” Nate answered while crouching on one knee with his hand on his shoulder.
“will we come back?”
“of course,” Nate said while getting up. “I’ll see you soon Shaun.”
The group started to head off to the east towards the Nakano residence which is where the boat that will take them to far harbor is.
Dogmeat ran up to Nate and made a curious little noise.
“Come with us dogmeat” Nate said while patting the dog on the head.
nate went to get into his power armor till he realised that it was out of power.
"damn it, guess I'll have to leave it here"
The dog just barked at him.
The trio started off towards Boston towards the church that was above railroad HQ.
When they got to the church, they noticed the door was blown off.
“oh shit” Nate said before pulling out his combat shotgun out of nowhere.
“Where do ya keep all of those bloody guns?” Cait asked in her thick Irish accent.
“not right now Cait”
Dogmeat sniffed the door frame and started to growl.
“careful now” Nate said while walking into the church.
When they got to into the catacombs there were dead bodies of the brotherhood and railroad. Way more of the latter sadly.
Nate recognized most of the bodies, especially glory and drummer boy. The further they went in, the more bodies they found. Tinker tom, Dr. Carrington, and Desdemona. All died with guns in the hands. Defending the railroad. It looked like the BOS took PAM.
“Wait, where’s Deacon?” Cait noted.
Nate walked over to a grave that was used to store food and other items, he opened it up to find deacon unconscious in it with a holotape.
Nate grabbed the holotape and put it in the pip-boy on his wrist.
“I’m sorry deacon but if you hear this, I am dead, and you need to give this holo-tape and my railroad rifle to bullseye. Bullseye, the brotherhood attacked us. I hid deacon so he could come find you. you and deacon are the last of the railroad. We had no chance of escape as they found our escape tunnel and surrounded us. Try to find and protect the synths” there was an explosion on the tape before it ended.
Nate pulled deacon out of the grave and poured some water on him. Deacon woke up during this.
“What the hell?” he yelled as he sat up “what the hell?” he said again as he saw all his fellow railroad members lying dead on the ground.
Nate explained what happened.
“damn last thing I remember is standing with the others waiting for the BOS to attack and then waking up with you pouring water on me.” Deacon stated.
“go the castle south-east of here and you will find the minutemen defending the place, I would like you to help if you’re up to it.” Nate offered.
“Will do.” Deacon accepted.
“Now let’s go to far harbor”
