Part 43 - "Finale"

Link awoke in a standing position, slowly opening his eyes. He stood in a large room of sorts, the sky outside slowly turning red with sunset. Link realized that he must have slept through an entire day. To his right was a pool of some sort, filled with water at just the right temperature, being hot but not scalding. To his left was a large table, covered in glass bottles of a milky-white substance with labels identifying them as "Chateau Romani". The room was dim, but it had a lovely stone fireplace behind Link, in the wall on the side of the room behind him, burning away merrily. A large bed was in the room as well, covered in soft, white, plush-looking sheets. The floor of the room was a soft multicoloured carpet, being striped with red, blue, and green. The walls were dark stone. A large wooden door was fixated in the wall across from Link, being closed. A few windows dotted the walls, revealing a soft meadow of sorts. The grass was soft green, the trees strong and healthy. Link began aware of three people standing behind him, Link turning around. Midna, Miranda, and Medli all stood there. They all glanced at each other curiously before smiling at Link happily.
Link saw their eyes widen. He turned around, his eyes widening, as well. The first to appear was Saria, the pretty little green-haired Kokiri girl that had acted like a mother and big sister to Link for most of his life. Then was Malon, the lovely orange-haired farm girl he had met as a child, as well. Next to appear was Ruto, the bossy princess of the Zoras. Nabooru appeared by Malon, her tanned skin and red hair contrasting slightly with Malon. Zelda appeared, looking rather startled, her eyes flitting along everything around her. A soft shout appeared as Hena landed with a crash on the bed in the room, looking up with a slightly-furrowed brow. There was a scream as Ilia landed with a loud splash in the pool in the room. Link grinned and chuckled softly as more and more people began to appear. Agitha appeared by him, looking up into his face with a grin. The door on the far side of the room opened up a crack, the smiling face of Romani looking into the room, Cremia pushing the door open and revealing the both of them with a smile. Anju appeared by Link, looking around with a quiet gasp, smiling and regaining her composure once she spotted Link.
To Link's pleasant surprise, Marin appeared by him as well, looking around as if in a daze for a few moments before smiling cheerfully at Link. Tetra appeared in the pool, swimming to the surface from a few feet down in the deep end, gasping when she reached the surface, crying out in a bit of surprise and anger. Lulu appeared in the water, smiling and looking around at everyone. Another soft, childish cry rang out as Aryll fell onto the bed with Hena, landing on the back, looking around in shock. Honey walked into the room behind Cremia and Romani, grinning when she saw Link. Another two forms appeared in the room, the both of them being Veran and Ambi. The both of them eyed each other darkly with wrath, but they lightened up and even smiled when she saw Link. Josephine the Great Fairy appeared by the bed, not looking surprised or shocked at all, smiling at everyone she saw. Ashei and Telma appeared in a moment by the table of Chateau Romani, looking at each other and looking around in shock. Finally, in a large burst of light, Din, Nayru, and Farore all appeared, Din grinning, Nayru smiling peacefully, Farore's smile bordering on a grin.
They all looked around the room and at each other for a moment before Link said "Well!...I suppose when the three of you said that you had a gift for me, you really weren't kidding!" Farore turned to him with a happy grin. "Why would we lie? We speak nothing but the truth!" Romani skipped over to the table of bottles, smiling and eyeing them all. "Romani recognizes these bottles!...Cremia, it's Chateau Romani! Did you sell them all to Grasshopper without telling me?" Cremia shook her head, raising an eyebrow. "No, I haven't seen Link since....Well, since when you and I saw him. How did you get this all, Link?" Everyone began to speak at once, Link's ears being flooded with words. "Where are we, Link?" "Are these all the girls you've seen other than me?" "Hey, I may look different than you, but that doesn't mean you can get that close to me! Link! The girls were all clamouring about, most of them confused, but quickly overcoming their shock. The three of them raised their arms, calling out for attention. Everyone quickly quieted down and looked at the three goddesses, nobody knowing who they were, not knowing that the goddesses were the ones that had brought them all there. Din smiled and said "Thanks. Now...You're all here to give Link a going-away present. As in sex, for those of you that just happen to be less than smart. But before you all freak out about how Link can only see a certain amount of girls at a time, relax, because we're going to be bringing in a few more guys. If any of you aren't quite feeling horny, then drink a bottle of milk from the table, trust me, it'll put you right in the mood!" Everyone looked at each other and sort of gave each other a curious look.
Nayru smiled. "I assure you, my sister is not playing a joke on you all. How do you think you all got here? We brought you here. We brought you here as a gift to Link. Who wants to try some Chateau Romani?" Romani quietly lifted up a bottle, uncorking it, looking left and right in a rather cute manner. She took a quick few sips, her face immediately growing filled with blush. Cremia grabbed the bottle from her, giving her a look before setting it back on the table. A few people murmured to each other with curiosity, walking over to the table, picking up bottles of their own. Link grinned with amazement. The goddesses' gift was indeed surprising, but in a very pleasant way. Seeing the smiles on all the girl's faces, even some of the more serious girls like Veran, Midna, and Ruto were all smiling a little.
The girls chatted with one another, some of them becoming fast friends. They all approached Link at one time or another and greeted him happily, hugging him or kissing him, sometimes even both. Aryll told him that she had missed him a lot, Ilia walking up to him and saying the same. Hena grabbed him from behind in a hug, asking him how he had been. Link grinned at them all. He was so happy seeing them all, he felt like he was in his own personal version of heaven. He grinned happily at Nayru. Seeing the happiness on his face brought a rather large smile to her face, Link thinking he had never seen her smile so joyously before. Link felt like someone was missing, like someone that should have been there wasn't, but he pushed the thought from his mind. A few of the girls began to slowly drink from the bottles of Chateau Romani, Farore winking at Din, Din grinning. The three of the goddesses only looked happier as more people began to materialize.
First a tall man with dirty blonde hair and red eyes like Medli's appeared, dressed in a green shirt and dark blue pants. He looked around, looking rather surprised. Link had never seen him before. He grinned suddenly when he saw all the girls in the room. "I must be in heaven!" He said in a deep voice. Link's eyes widened when Dark Link suddenly appeared in the room. Link was about to grab his Master Sword when he realized he didn't have it. All of his equipment was missing. Dark Link spotted him and reacted in the same way, reaching for his sword, but just like Link, he was devoid of equipment. The two of them stared at each other darkly before Nayru appeared between them, smiling sweetly. "Hero, he's here to help, not to fight. Banish the desire to fight from your mind and he will do the same." Link looked to the ground for a moment before closing his eyes and letting out a sigh. He looked back up to Dark Link. Dark Link didn't look at him angrily, seeming a little at peace. Nayru smiled. "See, Hero? He wants the same thing as you, he wants to be like you. We told him about you seeing all these girls, and now he wants to, as well." Link narrowed his eyes at Nayru. He didn't like what she had done, but he said nothing more on it, moving to the opposite side of the room, staying far away from Dark Link for fear of attacking him in anger.
Mikau appeared in the room, looking confused but smiling happily once he saw Lulu. Standing by the pool, Link smiled at Tetra, helping her out of the water, Tetra having a bit of a hard time. She smiled at him and thanked him, saying she had thought about him a lot while they were apart. Zelda suddenly hugged Link from behind, blushing deeply. A tall man with almost-feminine purple hair appeared, his eyes red, like Medli's and the mystery-man's. He looked around for a moment before his eyes settled on Anju. He blinked a few times, seemingly stunned by her looks. Link grinned at everyone before he suddenly heard moaning. Link said "I'm Link, you're in...I'm guessing we're still in Hyrule, right, Nayru?" Link called out to Nayru from across the room. She stood by the table, sipping some Chateau Romani. She nodded with a smile. Link looked back to the mystery-man and said "So yeah, Hyrule. Who're you, I've never seen you before?" The man grinned and said "Name's Fox, let me tell you guy, you sure know how to throw a party! I don't know what I did to deserve coming here, but I don't regret it for one minute!" Link chuckled.
The man grabbed Lulu around the waist, pulling her up off of Link, Lulu giggling and playfully slapping Fox's hands. "Put me down, put me down! Fox grabbed another one like it, a guitar, it being black and painted in flames and having a slightly-different body to it. Dark Link sat himself at the drums behind Link. Link saw everyone look at them with smiles. Kafei sat with Anju, watching them. "Play Free Cucco! Play Free Cucco!" Someone called out. Fox chuckled, looking off to the side. "Never played in a non-zora band before..." Mikau said to himself. Lulu winked at him from down below. Link stepped closer to the microphone. "Now, bear with me guys, I'm not quite sure what I'm doing up here, but it feels right, so..." Link said, realizing that the black pole in front of him magnified his voice. Nayru, Din, and Farore all grinned at him. Link suddenly heard them whisper words to him in his mind. "Yo Link, do you actually know how to sing, man?" Mikau asked him. Fox looked at him. "Yeah, if you don't know how, no shame in it, dude." Link shook his head, looking at them. "No, I think I know how to sing, heh...We'll see how it goes, okay? You guys know the song "Violet Haze"?" Mikau grinned. "I think I heard a goron band play it once, yeah. Tore the house down!" Fox grinned and nodded.
Dark Link flashed a thumbs-up. Link grinned, the words filling his mind, the goddesses whispering them to him as the music began to play...Link felt strange, his mind still feeling a little clouded by the Chateau Romani. It made him sing with a bit of soul, a bit of feeling. Mikau played his strange bone-guitar impressively, Fox doing the bass, Dark Link throwing in some drummer "flare". Link felt the words just appear in his mind, not even realizing that he was singing. The song ended off with a very impressive solo from Mikau, followed by a short addition from Dark Link. Everyone was cheering. Link was surprised. Everyone had loved the song! He didn't know what had been going through his mind when he walked up onto the stage, but he didn't regret it one bit. He suddenly felt pretty drained. People were still clapping as he jumped down from the stage. Mikau and the rest got down from the stage, as well. Link walked over to the bed, anybody that was on it getting off, some trying to compliment the clearly-tired Link. He collapsed onto the bed on his back, smiling a little as a few girls looked into his face with happy smiles. Link peacefully awoke a few hours later, the sun having just set in the sky, the sky growing a little dark. He sat up, seeing all the girls and the guys all resting around the room, all of them seemingly asleep. The only three still awake were the goddesses, standing near the bed, by the fireplace. They all looked at him once he sat up. They smiled at him, Nayru stepping closer to him. "Hero...Let me ask you...Did you have a nice time? Was everything pleasant?" Link smiled and nodded, quickly grinning as he looked around the room. "Yeah, I had a pretty fun time, it was really nice seeing so many of them...But...I have to say, it feels like a few girls are missing." Farore nodded. "There were some that we couldn't bring or just thought that wouldn't feel right there. Impa wouldn't have felt right with this situation. Twinrova wouldn't have fit in the room. Rutela is...Well..." Farore's face grew a little sad. "...We couldn't bring her..." She said softly. Link looked sad as well. Din grinned. "It looked like the other guys had fun, as well. Bet you never expected Dark Link, huh?"
Link had a slightly-annoyed look on his face as he nodded gently. "You know, you two have a lot more in common than you probably think." Farore said. Link glanced at her before looking to the ground. His eyes suddenly widened. "Wait...I have this feeling...Someone really important was missing...But...Who was it..." Link looked up with wide eyes. "Navi! Navi wasn't here!" The three goddesses looked at each other for a moment. Link raised his hands to his head for a moment in the utter shock of the moment. "You guys didn't send her here with me? Is that it? How come?" He asked, looking up to their faces. Nayru took another step closer to him, saying "Hero, she left while you were sleeping before the gathering here, she went back to the Kokiri Woods. I believe she was called there by the Deku Tree sprout...She should be returning any moment now, in fact." Link got up form the bed, saying "Why did the Deku Tree sprout call her? Why didn't you tell her to stay by me? If there was anyone that I would have really wanted to see here, it would have been her!"
Farore had a bit of a depressed and shameful look on her face as she said "Well...Nayru wasn't exactly being honest..." Nayru looked over at Farore, Farore's eyes flashing bravery, Farore stepping closer to him and speaking up. "The Deku Tree sprout wanted to talk to her, yes, but she didn't know he wanted to. It wasn't even an urgent thing, really...But the three of us sent her to it, regardless...She never really left you, that was a fib, she didn't want to leave you...But we...We sort of forced her to...I'm sorry, Link!..." Link gave the three of them surprisingly angry faces. "Why would you do that? Nayru? Din? Farore, why?" He had his arms wide, his voice growing higher with anger. "You put together a great thing like this for me, but then you don't let Navi come! Tell me, why? Don't you know what Navi means to me?" Nayru nodded gently. "...We know..." Link looked into her face angrily. "Then why? Can you tell me a reason? Do you even have one?!" Something light and gentle suddenly fluttered in through a window nearby. Link heard a sort of surprised twinkling sound. "That's why." Nayru said softly. He turned, seeing Navi. She was still in the air. "Link..." She said slowly, sounding a little in shock.
She slowly floated around the room, Link's heart feeling like it was coated in ice as she softly said "...What happened here?..." Din stepped forward, for once sounding a little serious and perhaps even callous as she said "Link had a little party for him and the girls closest to him. It's a shame, they all had a lot of fun, Link even invited a few of his guy-friends. Didn't he tell you?" Link looked at Din, saying "What the hell are you talking about, Din?" Navi looked at Link, floating her small-self near his face. "...Link, I felt myself being pulled away from you while you slept...It took me a while to find you..." She began to sound sad as she said "Couldn't you have waited for me to arrive?...I would have liked to have been in on this party...It looks like everyone really did have fun...Aren't I....I thought I was close to you?..." Link said "Navi, you are! You're probably the closest thing I've had to a mother, Farore told me that they all sent you awa-" Farore stepped forward, looking to the ground sadly. She slowly murmured. "Link is lying to you, Navi....He told us to send you away so that he could have his party without you...He said that he sometimes finds you a little annoying..."
Link looked at Farore with desperate eyes. "Farore, what the fuck are you talking about?!" Navi was silent for a few moments before Link thought he heard her sniffling. "Link, why?...I thought we were-" Nayru cut Navi off, saying "Our Hero just wants to be alone, Navi. He didn't miss you when you first left him, after he beat Ganondorf. He didn't miss you during the party. He won't miss you if you just go and leave for good." Navi actually burst into tears, trying to say Link's name, trying to hear his side of the story, wanting to know if what the mysterious girls were saying was true. Link suddenly felt the same as he did when he was singing earlier, feeling words appear in his mind, the goddesses whispering to him, forcing him to speak, forcing his jaws to move, his tongue to react. "They....They're right, Navi. I never knew how to tell you. But they're right. I don't think I need you around anymore, nor want you around." Navi began to cry rather powerfully, Link thinking that he had never seen or hear her cry ever, that being the first time. She turned around and flew off quickly, going through a window, heading into the woods around the house. Link actually had tears in his eyes as he turned to Nayru.
He shook with rage for a few moments before he nearly shouted out "What have you done?!" He raised a hand and actually struck Nayru across the face, slapping her strong enough to instantly put a red handprint on her left cheek. Nayru looked a little stunned by his action. Farore and Din stepped closer to him, pressing their hands to the front of his chest, but they weren't trying to hurt him. "That's not necessary, Link!" Din said. Link thought he felt Farore reach into one of his pockets, but he felt too riled up to really notice. He didn't realize that she had slipped an object into a pocket in his tunic. He turned from them and quickly left the house, looking around at all the trees, the sky quickly turning dark. He whistled a tune, Epona quickly running up beside him, Link still moving as he jumped up on her, urging her to race onwards, the two of them racing off into the trees, heading in the direction that Link believed that Navi had gone in. The three goddesses walked outside of the home, watching silently as Link slowly disappeared from sight. All three of them had tears in their eyes, but Nayru seemed the saddest.
"I'm so sorry...Link..." She said softly to herself, calling Link by his actual name and not "Hero" for the first time. Link was furious with the three of them, not even looking back as he left. "We will have to spread tales of Link, so everyone knows what happened of their Hero...We will also have to turn him back in time as he travels, he must be a child once more..." Nayru said a few moments later. Farore looked at her. "...What will we say? How will we make him younger again?" "We will say that he left for a friend, a friend he loved, a friend that left him...And we made this land just for him, make it a slow, gradual change...If we do it right, he'll never even notice..." Nayru answered gently. Din nodded sadly. "...Come on, let's go...He's gone, he's not coming back..." They all faded away, taking the party-goers with them, all of them disappearing...
Link rode for days non-stop. He travelled for what seemed like months in that endless, mysterious forest, never stopping for rest, for food, nothing, he never stopped. No monsters bothered him, leaving him free of the distractions of battle. Piece by piece, it was almost like the mist was taking away his equipment, but Link didn't even notice. The mist had strange effects on everything, it seemed. On the rare days that he'd look at the Master Sword to make sure that he still had it, he thought he could detect it changing. It didn't even look like the Master Sword anymore, it looked like a rather plain and regular steel and wood sword. One day, while thinking of Navi sadly, he whispered to Epona, telling her to slow down to a gentle walk. The forest had grown rather misty, Link not feeling comfortable with the idea of racing into a forest partially blinded. Huge trees stretched up into the sky around him. Link looked around quietly, thinking he could hear something.
He felt strange. Epona felt strange. He had never realized it, but he had slowly begun to revert to his younger form, Epona changing, with him. As he and Epona went by a massive tree to his left, Link thought he had picked up the familiar chiming of fairies. He looked up to his left, seeing nothing but the soft mist around the trees. He looked forward again with a disappointed face, thinking of nothing but Navi. Epona suddenly stopped, munching on some grass quietly. Link smiled gently, patting her neck. He looked around, still sitting atop her, looking to his left and right. The mist seemed to thicken a little for a few moments before weakening gently. He heard the gentle chiming of fairies again, but only for a moment before Epona let out a frightened neigh, bucking up and shaking her front legs, Link shouting out in shock, being flipped off of her back, ramming directly into the ground on his head. Everything went dark.
"Ooh, ooh! What a pretty ocarina...Hey, Skull Kid, lemme touch it! I wanna see!" "You can't, Tael! What would we do if you dropped it and broke it? No way! You can't touch it!!" Link heard voices, beginning to wake up. Fairy chimes sounded out, being rather near. An occasional giggle would sound out as well, sounding rather warped and demented. "Aw, but sis...W...Why can't I try it out, too?" Link sat up from the ground with a grunt, wondering why he had been lying on his back. He raised his left hand to his head, shutting his eyes for a moment as his head throbbed heavily with pain. He stood up, noticing a strange figure around his height standing nearby with two fairies, a light yellow one and a dark purple one lined with red. Link saw the strange creature holding a familiar blue object. It was the Ocarina of Time! Link quickly raised a hand to a pocket on the front of his tunic. He knew he had felt Farore slip an object in there, but he had never bothered to check. It must have been the Ocarina of Time! The fairies noticed him, turning to him and flying up slightly, letting out quick, alerting chimes.
The strange being slowly turned to him, gasping when it saw him, glancing at the Ocarina, quickly holding it behind it's back. Link glared at him. "You have something that belongs to me." Link said darkly. That's when it hit him. The creature wore a mask, a mask he had seen several times before in dreams. It was terrifying to see it in the real world, stunning Link, making his blood run cold. The mask had haunted him in nightmares before. He knew, he just knew, he recognized it so clearly! He took a step back, his eyes growing darker. He wanted his Ocarina back, and he wanted answers as to why the creature's mask had appeared to him in dreams before. The being jumped upwards in a flash, his fairies following him. Epona let out a neigh as it landed on her back. Epona reared up and kicked her feet as the being let out another demented giggle, urging Epona forward. Not willing to lose his beloved horse, Link jumped forward, grabbing a hold of one of the strange being's legs. Epona raced forward, unknowingly dragging Link along the ground, sending excruciating pain through his left side. Eventually, after a few minutes of torture, the mist around them all grew even stronger and thicker.
They entered a clearing in the woods, the strange creature sending Epona around a large tree trunk, Link losing his grip on the creature's leg. He flew through the air for a moment, hitting the ground and doing a few rolls before coming to a stop. The being taunted him with a warped giggle, still riding off with Epona. Link lay in pain for a few moments before forcing himself to his feet with a quiet grunt. He was not losing Epona, especially not after losing Navi. He ran forward, through some grass bushes, into a wooden tunnel made from some sort of hollowed-out log. He appeared in another clearing of sorts, with three logs of ascending height, all leading to another log-tunnel. Link jumped up on the first, flipping to the second, side-flipping to the third, finally jumping high to get into the log tunnel. He ran into a dark, wooden hallway, hearing the gentle sounds of fire around him every once in a while...When he saw some light, he felt the ends of his feet hit the end of something, going over a ledge. He gasped as he looked over into a dark pit, directly in front of him. He had been moving too fast in the darkness to stop himself. He shouted in fear as he fell forward into the darkness.
He was falling, falling, ever-falling. Glowing images flew past him as he plummeted. They were masks. All masks. Every once in a while, he'd see a glowing outline of an ocarina, like the Ocarina of Time. He kept falling, feeling his head spin, feeling himself being drawn into another adventure, hearing that strange creature's giggling echo all around him...

(Author's note - And this here's the ending to the "plot" to Link And His Ladies :D However, since the story ended up garnering so much feedback and support over at Hentai Foundry, I ended up writing quite a few "bonus" chapters with suggestions from readers. These bonus scenes were initially supposed to exclude Link to work with the...Plot, but Link kept coming up in suggestions, so I eventually brought him back. This, inevitably, ended up in a sort of unofficial continuation of the storyline. So, don't go anywhere! There's plenty more to come - Same Samson time, same Samson channel!)
