Chapter 5.

A Not So Warm Greeting.
It wasn't long re Sre Sun Shang Xiang caught up to Nu Wa. I'll follow her and find out whats ons one is really up to she thought, but little did she know that Nu Wa was already aware of her presence. The idea of getting Sun Shang Xiang to join her on this little adventure was one thing that crept into her thoughts, but of the list of ideas that she now had forming in her mind, that one was fast being pushed further down to the bottom of it. Nu Wa was pretty sure that the entire Wu clan was searching in the wrong place, because she knew of the Qiao sisters beauty and of all in China there was one that she could think of that would want them and not just for their fighting skills. So, she turned southwest and headed for the Nanman territory.
An idea flashed in Sun Shang Xiang mind. She's a Nanman spy! Probably sent to confuse us. Though she could not be further from the truth. Nu Wa was now readying herself for encounter of extraordinary proportions. She knew that it was going to hard to get into the Nanman territory. There would have to be either some very quick and smooth talking or a might battle where either could be the victor.
When night fell Nu Wa decided to camp for the night so she lit a fire and started to prepare her freshly caught supper. Sun Shang Xiang was being very careful not to be seen but all those ideas were lost when Nu Wa shouted into the darkness, "Are you hungry or did you bring your own food?"
Sun Shang Xiang thought She couldn't possibly know that I have been following her. So, she sat there, waiting for an accomplice that she had to have been talking to.

"The food's cooked and you don't have a fire and it gets a bit chilly here in these parts at night, so it you wann Shn Shang Xiang, you are more than welcome to share in mine." Nu Wa yelled into the darkness again but this time she looked straight at Sun Shang Xiang.
Sun Shang Xiang got up and walked towards Nu Wa's campfire. "So, a Nanman spy are we? Well then I know how to deal with the likes of you." Sun Shang Xiang said and charged at Nu Wa.

Nu Wa raised her hands and said "Whoa, whoa there, you've got it all wrong. I'm just trying to do some thing that the all powerful men of Wu couldn't - find the Qiao sisters. All the information that we have, says that the officers of your Wu are looking in the wrong place, they are investigating the territories of Shu and Wei. And all the while another is having his wicked way with those delicate flowers." Said Nu Wa. This statement posed a few questions that Sun Shang Xiang wanted answered.
"Ok then, the first question that I have is who is this 'WE' that you refer to and next ...," started Sun Shang Xiang.

But before she could finish Nu Wa chimed in, "Just a minute there beautiful, one question at a time. The answer to your first question though will have to wait 'til I'm sure you can be trusted. Now your next question."

"Alright then, what information do you have that makes you think that you are right and those ...," There was a slight pause in the question that Sun Shang Xiang was asking as thousands of wicked thoughts of the personal dismemberment kind raced through her mind as she thought of Sun Ce and Zhou Yu. Then she continued, "...two are wrong."

Nu Wa was unsure if she should give her this information but she would need help with what lay ahead. "Our intelligence indicated that there have been reports of a heavily shrouded and well guarded carriage heading in a completely different direction. As you can probably guess from our current heading, the carriage seemed to be head towards the Nanman Territory and that is what I am investigating."

The things that Nu Wa was saying made sense. Sun Shang Xiang then asked "If you are right and they are there and you can successfully get them out, what are you and this we planing to do with them?"

"That will be up to them." Started Nu Wa, "When they are safe and have had time to calm down from their ordeal, I was instructed to see if they would be willing to join us. If so, outstanding. They would be two fine additions to the group, and if not, they would be escorted safely to the Wu town of their choice."
Sun Shang Xiang could not fault her. Nu Wa and this we that she kept referring to seemed to be honourable but she would accompany Nu Wa to ensure the Qiao's safety. She had made up her mind.

Sun Shang Xiang asked one more question, "If I wanted to join this group of yours, what would I have to do to gain your trust?" Sun Shang Xiang prepared herself for anything as a smile appeared on Nu Wa's face. Little did Sun Shang Xiang know, she had asked the one question that Nu Wa wanted to hear.

"There is something I might need some help with, are you willing?" asked Nu Wa.

Sun Shang Xiang was prepared to do anything to help get back the only ones that understood what Sun Ce and Zhou Yu put her through. Both Da and Xiao Qiao had an idea of what it was like in the inner circle of the Wu headquarters and all three of them leant on each other when needed. The thought of loosing that support was too unbearable, so Sun Shang Xiang disrobed, right there in front of Nu Wa. Her nakedness there for all to see.
Nu Wa marvelled at Sun Shang Xiang's firm body flickering by firelight. Nu Wa moved to Sun Shang Xiang in a flash. She planted her lips on Sun Shang Xiang's and passion seemed to flow from that kiss. Nu Wa then broke the kiss and looked up at her naked beauty.

"You, standing there, and that kiss, togr mar make a moment that a poet could not do justice but, for the moment at least, that is not what I had in mind."
As the words fell from Nu Wa's lips a sense of disappointment welled up inside Sun Shang Xiang. That was then followed by foolishness. Nu Wa could see the look in her eyes, so she took a step forward, gave her a sweet kiss on her cheek as she handed Sun Shang Xiang her robes.

Nu Wa started "It will be difficult to cross the Nanman border. If the border is patrolled by just some guards then we won't have a problem but, there may be a woman there by the name of Zhu Rong, and if she is there, it will be difficult and I will need your help. Let us sleep on it, and we will break camp at first light."

Sun Shang Xiang had heard of this Zhu Rong but their paths had not yet cross. This could be interesting. she thought as she bedded down for the night.
Shortly after Sun Shang Xiang had left Wu castle a rider was dispatched to the frontier with a message from Sun Quan for Gan Ning. He was instructed to meet with Sun Shang Xiang and et het her to Zhou Yu and Sun Ce. But when Gan Ning got to the meeting place, Sun Shang Xiang wasn't there. He waited for the better part of a day and when she had not shown up by twilight Gan Ning proceeded to Wu castle.
Just when Nu Wa and Sun Shang Xiang were approaching the Nanman border, Gan Ning was arriving at Wu headquarters. Gan Ning proceeded at once to Sun Quan to inform him of Sun Shang Xiang's disappearance. When he found him, of course Lu Xun was there with, as Huang Gai often put it, his lips were firmly wedged into Sun Quan's backside.

"Sorry to interrupt, but I have to talk to you Lord Sun Quan." Began Gan Ning, when both Sun Quan and Lu Xun turned around.

As Lu Xun's eyes came into contact with the sight of Gan Ning his heart began to fer aer and his eyes started to twinkle like the stars in the sky. The thoughts of this nights proceeding filled his head and a happy giddiness, filling his very soul.
Snapped back to reality by a voice asking about Sun Shang Xiang which, to his dying days, Lu Xun didn't know if it was Gan Ning or Sun Quan who asked it.

"Lord, she was not at the rendezvous. You don't suppose that whom ever it was that grabbed our beloved Qiao sister also got their hands on your one and only sister?" stated Gan Ning.

Without thinking, a smile instantaneously appeared on Lu Xun face and he began to rub his hands together. This did not go unnoticed by Sun Quan to which he frowned and said "Lu Xun, would you please excuse yourself as Master Gan Ning and I have an urgent matter to discuss."
Feeling left out and brushed aside, Lu Xun sulked as he left the room, mumbling something to the effect Who does he think he is, discarding me like that? Why should I listen to him, it's not like he's Zhou Yu or anything.
After Lu Xun got outside, the door was closed behind him. He quickly looked around and, seeing that no one was about, crouched by the door and listened. Not that he could hear much since he was more interested in the thoughts of himself and "Master" Gan Ning tonight. Lu Xun was so wrapped up in these thoughts that he didn't notice that the conversation between Sun Quan and Gan Ning had ended and one of them was coming to the door. The door burst open and, because Lu Xun was a man of small stature, only a small thump was heard behind the door and went unnoticed by all.
It was Gan Ning who opened the door and from the doy hey he turned and said, "It will be done Lord Sun Quan." With that, he turned and left.

Lu Xun quickly got up, hurried into the room, and asked, "Where is Gan Ning going My Lord Sun Quan?"

Once again, he quickly buried his lips between the cheeks of Sun Quan's backside. "Master Gan Ning is hurrying to the front to see if he can catch up with whomever took my beloved sister."

Lu Xun's heart sank. Not only had he been cast aside by his lord but also, now he was to be deprived of this evening's entertainment. Even now, with Sun Shang Xiang missing, she still finds a way to deprive him of his rightful pleasures.
