What He Means to Me

Note: Maybe spoilers for the end of the second game. This chapter contains the letter Kairi wrote.
Each word he said felt as if one brick after another was being laid on top of him, forming an impenetrable and heavy wall, weighing down upon him. As Roxas left, not ever looking back at him, he felt...
empty.
"Roxas, wait!" Sora ran after him, grasping his arm and burying his head in Roxas' shirt. "I'm so sorry. I need you, so please..."
He clung to the fabric tighter, "...don't disappear. And it isn't just because I don't want to die." Those beautiful, clear blue eyes shone with tears into Roxas' own; both a reflection of the other and both more radiant than anyone else's. Roxas didn't need to think twice.
Sora was quite possibly the most beautiful person in the world.
And there he clung to Roxas' shirt, eyes overflowing with emotions. Roxas couldn't tell them apart, or even put a name to them, but he was able to see them and he felt that that was enough for him. He didn't need anything more than to see Sora's eyes.
"I want... to know you."
Roxas smiled.
It was the first time Sora had ever seen Roxas smile and he felt as though he had given someone the most precious gift possible. He hugged Roxas close. Roxas accepted the hug, but stepped back to pull a paper from his pocket. "A girl gave me a poem," he said. "It's called Thinking of You, Wherever You Are.."
He read:
We pray for our sorrows to end,
and hope that our hearts will blend.
Now I will step forward to realize this wish.
And who knows:
starting a new journey may not be so hard
or maybe it has already begun.
There are many worlds,
but they share the same sky'
one sky,
one destiny.
Sora stood dumbfounded, his tears starting to dry bit by bit. "Kairi... she wrote that."
"This is what life is, Sora. There's no reason to hate anyone."
Arms were once more thrown around each other in a tightened embrace. The two stood that way for a while, both perfectly content with everything around them.
They sat on the grass afterwards for maybe hours unend. They were missing class, but they really didn't mind it for today, the most important day in their lives. After a while, Sora spoke, "Axel... What does he mean to you, Roxas?"
Roxas wasn't expecting the question. He looked at Sora, whom looked back at him, a few minutes before answering, "I think he is to me who Riku is to you. I can not fathom what 'love' may be, but I know for sure that I don't want to leave his side."
"Then you should be with him. Nobodies aren't supposed to be able to feel, but when I see him around you, he always looks so happy."
Happiness... To Nobodies; happiness... sadness... pity, there was no difference. What there did exist for them, however,
was companionship.
The will, the nature and need to not be alone.
Axel may have been mixed up recently, but there wasn't a need for that anymore. When Roxas returned to the apartment to see him, Roxas told him, "I'm never going to leave you alone."
Axel smiled too.
The greatest, most important thing they needed; to know each other, to be with each other, was there all along. Everything was complete.
Notes: Gah. Kairi's letter makes me all teary eyed. But... yes! This is indeed the end. I hope you were all able to enjoy reading this story as much as I liked writing it! I'll be writing the bonus Kairi and Namine chapter, so make sure to look forward to it and other stories. Eheh~ I don't know what other stories I'll write. We shall see.
