Part 1 - "Desert Sun"

Dawn, within the space of a few minutes, had completely stripped the guard she had killed of all his clothes and all of his items. Wishing she still had her panties, she pulled the guard's black pants up her smooth legs. The pants had small curved metal plates attached on the front part of knees to protect her joints, soft cushioning on the inside so her skin wouldn't be right on the cold metal. She slipped on his bots, the steel at the tip weighing them down a bit but offering a more devastating kick in return. She wondered if she could possibly put on his chest armour. The bullets had left four little holes through the man stomach, soaking the shirt he wore under the armour with his blood. Kneeling by his body, she made a slightly disgusted face at the corpse as she began to take off his chest armour. She tore off his shirt at the stomach, tearing off all of the cloth that had been soaked in blood. Wearing the chest armour would be fine, but people might be able to recognize her by her scars, which worried Dawn slightly. Aside form his mp5 submachine gun, the guard had two spare clips for it, thirty rounds each. The clip still loaded into the gun now had twenty-six shots, four being in the slain guard's stomach. He had a single stimpack, Dawn figuring she might have to use it soon. The guard carried light equipment it seemed, having nothing else on him, not even a knife for close quarters combat or as an emergency weapon in case he ran out of bullets. Dawn sighed through her nose after a moment. Pain was throbbing through her like fire due to her kneeling position, but Dawn did her best to ignore it.
She suddenly came across an idea as she thought back to her bed, the one she had woken up in not too long ago. She walked back into the room she woke up in, stepping over to her bed quickly. She grabbed the thin white sheet of the bed, gripping it and pulling it with all of her might, putting a tear down it. She pulled it a little more before pulling it to the side, effectively taking a long rectangular strip of the cloth. She brought it down against her tender stomach slowly and gently, biting her bottom lip with pain to stop herself from crying out as she wrapped the cloth flat against her curvy hips to the small of her back. Bending over or stretching the skin didn't hurt nearly as much as actually touching it. She tied it a bit loosely, but tight enough that it wouldn't fall down around her waist. She sighed softly as her pain slowly began to fade away. She walked back out into the hallway, picking up the chest armour and what was left of the guard's undershirt, quickly pulling on the shirt and slipping on the upper part of the suit of metallic combat armour. She slipped the spare ammo clips into her left pocket, taking the stimpack and letting it fall into her right pocket. She grabbed his mp5 just as realization dawned on her. Her face! People would easily be able to recognize her face! She'd need some sort of mask if she wanted to try and stealthily get out of wherever she was. She looked down to her stomach, the cloth wrapping around it well giving her an idea. She could easily fashion a matching mask out of more bed cloth. She walked back into her room, grabbing the sheets of her bed once more, tearing at them.
Ace slowly pulled her face away from Dirk's, smiling a little as she moved her right arm to her mouth, wiping the saliva from her lips on the back of her sleeve. She lowered her left hand from Dirk's neck, Dirk blushing deeply, Ace thinking she had never seen anyone grow more flustered in her life. Ace smiled more at his blush and asked "So, the stuff is mine?" Dirk nodded softly, satisfied by her lips and tongue. Ace grinned, glad that her seduction paid off. "Great!" She said. She grabbed the sawed-off shotgun in her right hand, grabbing the combat knife in her left. She pushed the knife into a pocket on the outside of her leather jacket. She grabbed the stimpacks and slipped them into the outside pocket on the other side of her body. She quickly looked up to Dirk's face, smiling sweetly as she noticed her had some saliva at the right corner of his mouth, Dirk still blushing too much to do anything about it. She reached up to his face with her left hand, wiping away their mingled spit with her thumb, Dirk seemingly just noticing it as she touched him. She lowered her hand, saying "How's about some food, Dirk? I can actually pay you, too. Some food for me and Penelope, two Nuka-Colas for the both of us as well, alright?" Dirk nodded and finally began to lose his blush, asking "What are you in the mood for?" Ace said "Hmmm....How's about some InstaMash and a Salisbury Steak for me, and some jerky with a squirrel-on-a-stick for Penelope?" Dirk nodded, saying "Just a few minutes, let me get it all ready."
Ace nodded and waited a few minutes. Dirk eventually brought her a plate of small potatoes along with a small piece of meat, bringing out another plate with several pieces of jerky on it along with a small rodent impaled on a small stick, obviously a squirrel. Ace began eating like a ravenous hound, Dirk walking around the counter and bringing the other plate down to the ground for Penelope, Penelope eating just as voraciously as her mistress. After finishing most of her food, she began to slow down, looking up to Dirk as he stood behind the counter, relaxing and waiting for Ace to finish. "Hey, I'm kinda curious, has anything interesting happened in town lately? I just got back in town, and when I get back from killing that old fucker I'm gonna want some work if there's any." Dirk said "Um, yeah, actually...Some chick showed up in town with some kid, I don't know them, never seen either of them before. Vince showed up with some guards and took them both away. I heard he took the kid to the Limbo Detention Center, you know, on the far end of town, and I think they rushed the chick over to the Cardinal Central Hospital. I heard she was attacked by a molerat." Ace shook her head gently, finishing her food, swallowing and speaking afterwards. "No molerats around here anymore, just big regular ones and pigrats these days. Thanks for the info Dirk, probably won't end up being much, but it always feels good when you know you're up to date. How much do I owe you for the food?" Dirk smiled and blushed gently, shyly suggesting "Another few kisses?" Ace smiled and said "Cute idea, but forget it, how's fifteen caps sound? Better take it, that's all I'm giving you, it's better than nothing." Dirk nodded, losing his blush. "Alright, then." He said. Ace pulled out a small bag she kept inside one of the inner pockets of her jacket, opening it up and feeling inside, quickly grabbing fifteen of the small, hard, cylindrical objects within.
The man in the dark trench coat and dark helmet entered the Cardinal Central Hospital, immediately making his way over to an elevator set into the wall nearby, hassled by neither security guards nor hospital staff. The hospital was very similar to the ancient hospitals from before the bombs fell, from before the war. Considering how many people in the wasteland don't even have clean drinking water or electricity by those days, the Cardinal Central Hospital was an extremely advanced place. He stepped into the elevator as soon as the doors dinged open, reaching over to the button panel with a dark leathered hand. He pressed the button labelled "B", for basement. The doors slid to a shut, the motors turning, the elevator lowering.
The room was filled with ripping sounds as Dawn tore off another strip of cloth. She raised it up to her face, covering her nose, cheeks, mouth, and chin. She tied it off behind her head, over her hair, her hair so dark it was like liquid evil flowing from the top of her crown. She suddenly came up with another idea to add to her disguise. She took her long, luscious hair and slipped it into the back of her chest armour, through the neckhole. The armour was meant for a man and so was incredible uncomfortable on her chest, squishing her breasts into her quite a bit. She ran her hands over her hair for a moment before smiling a little. "Alright, now, that elevator I saw earlier should take me out of here." Dawn left her room, stepping past the corpse of the guard, walking down the hallway. Suddenly, the elevator doors opened!
The man in dark attire stepped out into the hallway, stepping out of and away from the elevator. There was a woman in the hallway, seemingly a guard. She was dressed in the usual attire, but she was wearing a cloth mask of sorts around the bottom of her face. There was something about her that was rather familiar. The cloth mask she wore didn't hide the stare she was giving him. She had been walking quickly as he stepped out of the elevator, but now that he was out, she had slowed her movements to an almost complete freeze. The man was going to just ignore her, but her actions seemed to suspicious to just let go. "Who are you?" He slowly asked. The woman softly said "The guard." The man kept staring at her from within his dark helmet. "I meant what is your name?" The woman seemed to swallow gently, quietly saying "Zoey." The man nodded gently. "Why are you wearing that mask, Zoey?" Dawn secretly smiled to herself, happy and relieved that the man had bought into her disguise and fake name.
"Sorry sir, I started getting the symptoms of a bad cold the other day, and one of the doctors demanded that I wear it, so I don't spread it around to any of the patients down here." The man seemed to sigh quietly. "Very well. At least you're watching the basement with all the comatose patients, I can only imagine the problems that would arise with patients on the upper floors trying to get a little too friendly with you." He said, indicating Dawn's still-recognizably curvy body with a lazy wave of his left hand, her body still appearing beautiful and lovely even in the suit of armour meant for a man. Dawn nodded gently, blushing a little bit with joy at the man's recognition of her wonderful body, but quickly forced herself to stop. The man nodded at her hastily one final time. "Very well. Carry on." He began to walk down the hall. Dawn grinned as she quickly but quietly ran over to the elevator. She pressed the button to signal it to approach, and the doors instantly began to open for her. She stepped inside and pressed "G" for the ground floor. The doors slid to a close. "Vince, you always were a fucking idiot!" She muttered aloud, laughing quietly to herself in mirth.
The man in dark clothes and face-shading helmet walked down the hall and around the corner, instantly spotting the corpse of the slain guard. He gritted his teeth as he saw the door to Dawn's room wide open. "Bitch!" He shouted, his voice echoing around the hallway. He reached into his trench coat and pulled out a small walkie-talkie radio, pressing the button on the side and saying "Dawn has escaped! Stop any woman with a mask and long black hair, but don't kill her! That'll be my pleasure!" Several voices called back to him, chatting away that they understood their orders. He slipped the walkie-talkie back into his jacket and reached over to his other inner pocket. he grasped the handle of his trusted firearm, pulling it out. It was a desert eagle .44 with an extended clip, holding twenty bullets instead of the usual eight. He turned off the safety of it, turning a small switch on the side of the handle. He ran over to the corner of the hallway, rushing past it just as the elevator doors slid shut. He raised up his desert eagle and fired three shots rapidly into it, the bullets blasting through the thick metal doors. The elevator began to rise up into the shaft, heading to the ground floor. Filled with cold anger, the man, Vince, paced back and forth in front of the elevator doors, having no choice but to wait for it to return to him in the basement, not having any staircase he could turn to for an alternative means of reaching the ground floor.
Dawn had cried out as one of Vince's bullets blasted into her right arm, near her shoulder. Blood flowed out on her arm and the right side of her chest, soaking a bit of the right side of her shirt with blood. She shoved her left hand into her right pocket awkwardly and uncomfortably, grabbing her stimpack. She pulled it out and sighed, seeing the needle of it to still be intact. Blood was quickly trickling down her arm, blood collecting at her fingertips and dripping away to the floor. She glanced at the stimpack before jabbing it into her right arm, closing her eyes. The red fluid inside the needle of the stimpack automatically shot into her, the gauge of the stimpack shooting from one hundred for full to zero for drained. Her pain immediately began to fade a bit, her wound actually beginning to close slightly by itself. The pain in her chest and stomach began to soften, as well. She smiled with relief, pulling the needle from her arm and dropping it to the floor. She gripped her mp5 submachine gun with both hands, ready to spray bullets into anyone that dared to try and stop her escape.
Ace walked along the street with Penelope, smiling a little to herself as she gripped her newly-acquired sawed-off shotgun. "Now...To take care of that old freak." She thought, a look of stone-cold resolution gracing her rather pretty features. Suddenly, she heard a scream from down the street. It was coming from the Cardinal Central Hospital down the road. Shots rapidly sounded out, sounding rather far-away. ace raised an eyebrow, wondering to herself about what was going on. She began to make her way down the street, heading in the direction of the shots, completely unaware of the fact that the deadly firefight ensuing at the hospital was caused by Dawn.
The elevator doors slid open at the ground floor, Dawn raising her gun, keeping her finger on the trigger. She knew the doors of the hospital would be to her right. As soon as the doors slid open, she knew where she was. The Cardinal Central Hospital. A guard in combat armour quickly walked over to the elevator, seeing Dawn and raising up a pistol he had. Dawn immediately fired five shots into him, blood spraying out of his fatally wounded torso as his body fell to the ground. A shout came out from another guard nearby, alerting the other four in the lobby of the hospital. A guard rushed past the elevator doors, firing into the elevator at Dawn. He missed her entirely. Dawn sprayed bullets the moment she saw him, firing a quick eight bullets. She managed to hit the man in the chest with four bullets, a fifth going through his right arm. He collapsed by the elevator.
A ding came out, the doors starting to close. Dawn rushed out and held the trigger of her mp5, pointing it in the direction of the four remaining guards. Bullets whizzed along her in the air as she jumped behind the receptionist's long desk, kneeling close to the ground as she realized she had emptied her gun of ammunition. She ejected the clip and let it fall to the ground with a clack, pulling out one of her spare clips and loading it into her gun. She pulled back the small loading slide near the barrel at the front, loading the first bullet and preparing the gun for bloodshed. Her face was grim as the elevator headed back down to the basement, knowing she had to leave before Vince got up to the main floor.
Kid couldn't hear the shots, the Limbo Detention Center simply being too far from the hospital. Kid did, however, hear rushing footsteps and even jogging go by the outside of his door. "...The hospital! It's happening there! We have to go help!..." That was all he managed to pick up from a few shouting voices. he sat up on his cot and walked over to the door, listening as more footsteps came for a few moments before receding down the hallway. He tried opening his door, the knob not budging. He sighed with frustration and went back over to his bed, lying on it quietly.
Ace walked along quickly to the Cardinal Central Hospital, donning her spiked knuckles in the process. When she reached the small hill the hospital was founded on, she could see rapid muzzle flashes coming through the glass window of the front double doors, gunshots sounding out. Someone suddenly placed a hand on her shoulder from behind. Ace spun around, swinging her fist as powerfully as she could. She connected with a sickening wet sound. The person she had struck had fallen to the ground, a huge gash opened up on his cheek. Ace's eyes widened a little when she realized that she had knocked out a town guard, one of Vince's men. Looking around with a bit of fear, she sighed with relief as she noticed there were no other guards in sight. Someone kicked the front doors of the hospital open. Ace turned to see who it was. it was a guard. His chest suddenly burst with red as someone shot him in the back rapidly from within the hospital. The body fell outside, the doors closing, but only for a moment before someone crashed through them.
She looked maybe nineteen or twenty. She had long black hair. Her eyes were a deep, colourful blue. She was dressed in a guard's metallic combat armour. She had a cloth wrapped around her nose and mouth, tied behind her head, like a mask. She was gripping an mp5 in her hands. Bullets whizzed past her as she rushed past Ace, sprinting down the hill and away from the hospital. The girl let out a short cry as a bullet grazed her left leg, along the outside of her thigh, but still she ran. A man in a long dark trench coat rushed out of the hospital. He wore some kind of dark helmet, Ace thinking she had seen a ghoul wear the same type of helmet with an environmental suit of armour. He fired a few shots down the hill at the woman, the noticed Ace. Ace knew it to be Vince, the leader of the town's armed forces. He spotted the guard knocked down behind her and suddenly aimed his desert eagle at her. Ace spun around once more and took off like a bat out of hell, sprinting after the woman who had fled moments before. Vince fired at Ace a few times, aiming for her legs, but Ace was smart enough to duck and weave as she ran, completely avoiding all of the man's fired lead. She chased after the woman, Ace running through a few dark alleyways as she kept up with her.
Dawn had no idea that Ace was following her. She was almost crying with torturous pain as she ran, her stomach causing her pure agonizing suffering. She had barely noticed the cut opened up on her leg from a bullet that had been fired at her, her mind too distracted by the pain from her chest and stomach. She figured that Vince would have brought Kid to only one place - the Limbo Detention Center. She headed down the street, knowing she had quite a few streets to go before she reached the building she was determined to get to. She ran past the pain, adrenaline helping to numb the feeling and to give her feet wings. All the while Ace followed, not even sure why she was doing so, but continuing to keep Dawn in eyesight, regardless.
