Ugh, this chapter isn't all that great. Hopefully I'll be back up to par on the next one. And we'll get back to sexy times soon, I promise.
As always, reviews are greatly appreciated!

Rinna walked with a swagger in her step as she entered the cantina, the powerful stride she used when she was in a hurry to get somewhere melting into a panther's prowl, and she tossed her hair over her shoulder with a wicked smile.
The cantina was bustling with life, the sounds of laughter and chatter mixing with the smell of smoke and alcohol in the air, and Rinna breathed it in with pleasure. It had been far too long since she had been somewhere fun like this. The Corp gave her little time to play around, especially with the way her CO's had a tendency to watch her a little too closely, and she missed the night life. Just walking in here put her in better spirits.
She wondered if it would have the same effect on Onasi. He needed something to lighten him up.
The Republic pilot had been on edge before what happened in Kaya Othas's apartment, but since that, he had hardly been able to sit down. He made her walk ahead of them wherever he went, and when they stopped to eat, or went back to the apartment, or even stopped to talk to someone, his eyes hardly strayed from her. His mistrust was out in the open now, rank and foul. But he had stayed with her nonetheless.
That had surprised her. When she realized the blade was there, slid between her ribs and bleeding more than she would have believed, she had figured she was dead. He would have been long gone by then, she was sure, fled the apartment and the bloody mess she had made.
But when she called him, he had come. She had seen his reluctance, the revulsion that crossed his face as he looked at her, lying there. But when she opened her hands, letting him see the knife buried in her side, another expression had darkened his face, and while he had hesitated, he had come to her in the end.
It had taken her days to recover, but with the kolto they had bought, and the help of a dark-skinned medic named Gordon, she was feeling right as rain now. And Onasi had stayed with her, for whatever reason. She was strangely grateful for that.
A dark-haired man caught her eye from across the room. A drink in his hand and a roaming eye told her he was here for a good time, and she grinned to herself.
“Jackpot,” she said, laughing a little. “Onasi, go get lost for a few minutes.”
“Why?” The question was ripe with suspicion, and he didn't bother to conceal the hardness in the words.
“Oh, calm down, pilot, I think I've got a source.”
His eyes followed hers and he frowned as he took in the handsome young man.
“And why would you think that?”
“Because,” she said, irritated. “He's got the look of a soldier, and I'm pretty sure no Republic Corp guy is hanging out looking for ass right under the Sith's nose.”
He frowned at her, obviously annoyed at her tone, but she could see he was considering it. They were here for information, after all, and he was just as eager as she was to find some lead after all the time they had wasted here. It wasn't like he really had a choice if he wanted to help Bastilla and all.
They had already learned where the Jedi was, sort of. They knew she had been captured by one of the gangs in the Lower City, though they didn't know which yet, and they needed a way to get past the Sith soldier guarding the elevator. Rinna had considered simply attacking the guard. She was definitely quick enough to slit his throat before he could raise a cry. But Onasi had shot that plan down, pointing out that it would raise a massive flag for the Sith and make it harder for them to go about undetected.
So they needed to find another way. It was impossible that the Sith were truly stopping all unauthorized traffic from getting around between the upper and lower levels. And there were bound to be people out and about that would give that information out, or sell it if necessary. And if they couldn't find one, they might just be able to find their own way to get down there, just by poking around.
The cantina had been the obvious first choice for all of this. It was ripe with all kinds of people, especially the type that would sell secrets, and it wouldn't be so odd for them to be talking to a lot of people there. Especially if they were just acting like a couple, trying to find some fun.
Onasi cut his eyes back to her mark and grimaced. “Fine,” he snapped. “I'm going to the bar to see if the bartender can give me any information about the regulars here. Do not leave without telling me first.”
Without waiting for her answer, he turned on his heel and marched off, parting the sea of patrons without having to push. Rinna rolled her eyes and sighed. How long could he stay grumpy like this? He had decided to stay with her. If he was going to stick with that decision, he needed to get over himself.
With a spring in her step, the smuggler woman sauntered her way over to the soldier-looking man, smiling all the way.
“Hey there,” she called as she got close, tossing her hair over her shoulder again. She gave a a little more than friendly smile, shuttering her dark blue eyes in her darker lashes. The memory of the last time she had done this flashed through her mind, and her smile turned a little more coy as she remembered Onasi's reaction behind her.
The man perked up at the site of her, his back snapping straight in that practiced ways soldiers had, and he looked her up and down with open admiration.
“Well, hello,” he purred, mirroring her smile as he greeted her. “I haven't seen you around before.” She could see the hunger in his eyes, a little too obvious. He was a good way through the ale in his hands, and she would guess that it wasn't his first mug. Too easy, she thought gleefully.
“Mm, yeah, I've been traveling all over Taris looking for a good bar scene,” she told him, giving him a little laugh. “Since I got stuck in this Sith blockade, I haven't been able to find any fun.”
His eyes seemed to light up at that. From what she could see around her, the ladies weren't too impressive tonight. She was probably the nicest piece he'd seen on this run, and she was obviously interested. The word “Jackpot!” was probably rolling around in his head right about now, too.
“Ah, an off-worlder. Yeah, Taris isn't the most entertaining place, I'll give you that.” He shifted a little closer to her, smiling. “I wasn't happy getting stuck here myself.”
Rinna let him come, brushing against his arm “accidentally” as she shifted. He felt particularly warm, and she flushed, letting the blush creep up her cheeks. At least he was attractive. If she had to flirt with someone, she was glad it was someone she would have actually flirted with, and not some grizzled old man with bad teeth.
“Did the Sith catch you too?” she asked. Glancing behind her, she noticed a small loveseat set into the wall, and tucked herself into it, beckoning for the man to join her. He laughed a little, before ducking under the overhang and folding his long legs to fit on the little couch. It was too small for two people, but Rinna didn't mind, using as much his space as her own.
“In a way.” He shifted to get a comfortable seat, turning towards her a little and pressing one leg against hers. She smiled sweetly to him. “Unfortunately, I'm one of the Sith keeping you here, I suppose.”
Rinna raised an eyebrow at that, but her smile didn't falter. So she'd guessed right. “Are you now? Where's your big scary uniform?”
“We're not allowed to wear it inside the Cantina. Well, really, we're not suppose to fraternize with the locals at all, but where's the fun in that?” His eyes trailed down to her legs, one crossed over the other, long and toned and pressing pleasantly against his. She laughed a little and rubbed her foot lazily against his calf.
“Well, I'm glad. It would be a pity to hide that face behind that ugly helm.”
Her response seemed to please him. She wondered how many dirty looks he got from the natives when they found out he was one of the Sith, making things difficult on a planet that already had enough of its own problems. To find a sympathetic party was probably refreshing, and a pretty young woman at that.
“Well there is that.” He flashed her a charming grin. “I'm Yun Genda.”
“Kittani,” she answered smoothly, reaching out a slim hand. He took it in his, pressing a swift kiss to the back, but letting it linger in his a few moments before releasing it.
“So what do you-” she began, but she was cut off before she could start her questioning. A stern looking blonde haired woman appeared in front of them, scowling for some reason. The sight of Yun tucked away in their little corner seemed to annoy her more and she propped one hand on her hip.
“Are we going, Yun?” she snapped, tossing her perfect ponytail over her shoulder. She cut Rinna a deadly look, but she only smiled in response, letting the woman's animosity wash over her like rain. Yun sighed and rolled his eyes with a smile.
“Yes, Sarna, in a minute.” His tone was complacent, with a touch of humor. She cut him a hard glare and turned on her heel, stalking out of the cantina without another word. Rinna watched her go, an eyebrow raised, before turning back to Yun.
“Sorry,” he apologized, a touch sheepishly. “Sarna's an officer in my unit, and we've been invited to a party tonight. I think she's hoping to get into this guy Athro's pants.” He laughed and gave her an amused look. She returned it, though she let a touch of disappointment show through.
“I know the feeling,” she purred back. “I wouldn't want to keep a woman from a good pair of pants.”
Yun seemed to brighten at that, and he glanced around, like he was going to tell her a secret.
“Tell you what. I don't really like the idea of being the third wheel to that pair. Do you wanna come with?”
Rinna's eyes lit up with excitement, and she scooted closer, practically sitting on him now. “Oh, I'd love to,” she exclaimed, letting the flush rise in her cheeks again. He gave her a grin, his eyes full of mischief, as he dug in his pocket, retrieving a datapad.
“Here,” he said, fiddling with it for a moment before handing it over. “That's where it'll be. It won't be starting for another hour or so, so you've got time to change if you'd like.” She took the pad from him, letting her eyes linger on his for a few moments.
“I'll be sure to wear something nice,” she promised in a low voice. She saw his body tense at that.
“Well, Sarna's going to kill me if we don't get going,” he said finally, disentangling himself from the smuggler with a gentle motion. “I'll see you there.”
“See you there,” she promised, watching him go. For a few moments, she sat there, thinking everything over before she finally rose. She needed to find Onasi and let him know she'd be heading to the party.
Slipping through the crowd, she made her way to one of the bars, scouting it out for the familiar sight of the pilot's messy hair. A quick scan told her he wasn't here. She frowned at that, turning in a slow circle as she wondered where he might have gotten to. One of the side bars, perhaps? Or maybe he'd found a source of his own?
She worked her way back towards one of the other rooms, picking her way easily through a group of drunken men with roving hands, and finding herself in a cozy room with a band. A man near the door tried to catch her attention, but she shirked him easily, turning instead to the other side of the room and the line of booths there. In a booth almost tucked away in the corner, she found what she was looking for.
Onasi was sprawled in the booth, his long legs stretched out and his arms thrown across the back of the seat. He looked all too at ease with the pretty brunette who had snuggled herself up next to him, one leg crossed over his, and her hand brushing lazily across his lapel. Rinna stopped in surprise, watching as she reached one hand up under his jacket, and purring something in his ear. He was smiling too, an easy crooked smile that gave his stern face a whole new cast. He looked . . . charming. Sexy. She'd always accepted that he was handsome, but this was something completely different. Something that sent a pleasant coiling right to her core.
“Well, damn, Onasi,” she thought, looking him over with pleasure. “I didn't think you had it in you.”
