Authors Note: This chapter is a SFW chapter. I apologize. Expect the next chapter to have some fun, and rather kinky, adult+ rated stuff...probably Adult++. Anyway, enjoy a rather nice chapter before the naughty stuff
Jin departs early morning with Yuuki at his side. Inevitably, one had to travel through the tall grass to do so, and the number one rule you were always told whenever growing up in the Pokémon world was not to go in the tall grass without a Pokémon because wild Pokémon liked to roam around in the tall grass. Well, either way, Jin had to make his way through some and, on his way through, he heard some rustling in said grass. He carefully snuck his way through the grass to the rustling noise he heard, not sure of what it could be.
Jin came upon a Ralts, but, from the initial look of it, he wasn't sure of the gender. It hadn't seen him yet, but it heard him and was trying to be silent as it finished what it was eating. He didn't try to catch it yet, since he wanted to make sure that the little Pokémon finished eating first. Ralts finished eating and then, since it had not heard any more sounds, it started drawing pictures in the ground with its psychic power while it hummed. It was certainly adorable. Jin figured he could figure out what gender it was by seeing what it drew in the ground.
It seemed to be drawing a bed with a stick figure in the bed. It was still drawing of course, but that's what Jin could make out. The tune it was humming sounded like a lullaby. Jin kept watching. He didn't want to startle the poor Pokémon.
Then it drew what looked like a cat on top of the boy but also drew a window until it did something special with the tail, three lines with dots at the end. It drew a moon outside the window too. When Jin looked at the cat, it looked just like Yuuki when she was a Skitty. This Ralts was a good artist.
Well, it was all just lines and no real detail, since it was using a stick instead of its mind up until now. It used its psychic powers to move the sand with the cat as one shape, like one might do with a computer in Microsoft paint, and had it go over to the window. Then it drew a star and made a tail, like a shooting star.
"That's a very nice drawing you made there." Jin finally spoke up, keeping his distance from the little Ralts.
Ralts looked up in surprise. It didn't appear scared, but it was taken aback that someone was still there. "Ralts Ralts" It said with a nod and blushed a bit. It drew a thought bubble in the ground around the picture and pointed to itself.
"Is that a dream you had?" he asked the psychic-type
The little Pokemon nodded "Ralts". Then held up its hands like a human showing the number 10 and opened and closed its fingers multiple times.
"10 times?" Jin asked. Trying to understand Pokemon when he didn't directly understand what they were saying was difficult. It shook its head and pointed upward and then held its arms as wide as it could.
"I don't understand what you're saying, but I'm trying my hardest to figure it out. I'm sorry." Jin was trying his best to let the Ralts know that he cared what it had to say.
It started drawing tally marks in the ground, hit ten, and kept going for a bit and then looked at you holding its arms wide. Many tally marks were on the ground and you expected it would draw more if it had to.
"Is that how many times you had that dream?" Jin asked, thinking that's what the Ralts meant
Ralts thought for a moment until Yuuki spoke up "I think its trying to tell you its had the dream a lot of times, even more than that." Ralts nodded and held its arms wide again.
'Oh yeah, Yuuki can translate Pokémon speech' Jin thought to himself, embarrassed that he forgot she could help. "So this dream is about a Skitty and a Human?" he asked, assuming that's what the cat was. Ralts nodded. "And what happens in the dream?" he asked, hoping Yuuki would translate it for him.
Yuuki told Ralts that she could tell you waht it said so Ralts started saying its name a lot. "It says the boy was in bed and did not look good and the Skitty was sad. It called out to the star" then Ralts drew what looked like another cat cat on two very long legs with very small arms and gave it big eyes and a very long tail. "Ralts says that a Pokémon came from the star that looked like that...." Yuuki looked closely at the scene "Jin, you don't think this is what it sounds like do you?"
"If it is, that's amazing, and also a little disturbing. It's very possible." Jin told her "Let's continue listening to the story"
Yuuki asks it to continue. Ralts started again "The Pokémon from the star kissed the boy and the next morning the boy wakes up, all better, and the Skitty was very happy and the boy was happy too."
"N-no, that couldn't be..." Jin thought out loud. "Do you know how this dream came to you or when it started?"
Ralts nodded and spoke as Yuuki translated. "It says that other Ralts used to be mean to it and it would cry every night. Then one night the star Pokémon came to it and Ralts told it why it was crying so it told Ralts to wait here. The star Pokémon sang it to sleep with that lullaby it was humming before and it has had the dream often since that night. When Ralts woke up, the other Pokémon was gone"
Jin smiled at how heartwarming the story was. Mew really was a good Pokémon. "How about you join our team so you don't have to be alone anymore?"
Ralts said something and Yuuki looked confused, "Ralts is asking if you're sure you want it." she translated "It's saying it's not a normal Ralts."
"I don't care if it's not normal. I just care about if it wants to be a member of the team, and my friend." he told her, and indirectly telling Ralts. 'Besides, what could be so abnormal about it?'
Ralts jaw dropped and it smiled and nodded with tears coming from its eyes, which it started wiping with its little hands. "I think that's a yes" Yuuki said happily. She was glad that the little Pokémon wanted to join because no creature deserved to be bullied, especially by those of its own kind.
Jin thought so too, hugging the Ralts before pulling out a Poke Ball and tapping the button gently against its head. The Poké ball wiggled like one time before the sound that the pokemon was caught sounded. Seemed like Ralts was just happy to belong to someone.
Jin smiled and let the Ralts out of its ball, smiling. "Well, welcome to the team. Now I need to come up with a nickname for you." Ralts hugged Jin again while it waited for a nickname. "Hm, I'd name you Carrie if I knew you were female, but I can't tell what your gender is. This is tough." he told the cute little Psychic/Fairy-type. "I suppose I could give you a nickname later on and think of one as we continue."
Ralts looked a bit nervous and drew an o with a plus attached to it on the ground and an o with an arrow attached to it next to that and circled both and drew an arrow to itself. Then it was very quiet "Wait, you're telling me you're both male and female?" he seemed surprised, and also intrigued. 'So that's why it was bullied by the other Ralts.' Ralts nodded sadly and sat down holding its little knees to its chest. Jin smiled and pat its head. "That just makes you unique. I don't mind whether you have both parts, one part, or no parts. You're still a cute little Ralts to me."
Ralts just plain looked at a loss for words and jumped into Jin's arms with an enthusiastic "Ralts" and nuzzled its head against Jin's chest. Ralts kept saying its name so Yuuki spoke up "It says it’s really happy to have met you and then you're everything the star Pokémon said you'd be. I guess Mew said you'd take care of it just because it was itself."
"Well Mew certainly was right." he said out loud. "I'm not always good with names though." Heck, it took him nearly a whole day before he named Yuuki
"I think Ralts would be happy with any name you gave it." Yuuki told her trainer "But perhaps a name that can fit both genders, like Jean or Joe or something? I know you like Japanese names though."
Heck, the poor Ralts seemed to be happy just to have a friend, let alone a name. "Well, how about Nell?" he asked. It sounded like a name that could work for both males and females. Ralts gave a big smile and waved its arms up and down excitedly like it was cheering. That made Jin chuckle. "You are so cute when you're happy." Nell blushed at being called cute. Jin certainly would need to experiment with her once he got the chance. "Now come on, Nell. We’ve got an adventure to go on."
Nell nodded and Yuuki rubbed against Nell saying "Welcome to our family, Nell." Nell giggled at this tickled it.
