(Note - This chapter is just a bonus chapter someone suggested a while ago. It’s not technically part of the storyline, it’s just a request. This character was first suggested by the user Balduin.)
“Mm...Mm?...Mmph...” Link slowly came into wakefulness. The left side of his body was sore, his ribs feeling stiff under the coatings of his flesh and tunic. His spine felt like a metal rod, a heavy, pained groan coming from him as he rolled over on to his back. The last thing he could remember was trying to race up the ice formation that acted as the path to Snowhead Temple. At regular intervals, massive gusts of icy wind would blow from the very peak of Snowhead Mountain, the mouth to the temple. Link had thought he could brave the blizzard in his powerful Goron form, but it had been too strong, throwing him off of the ice formation and tossing him down into cold, open space. Link had been terrified for a moment that he was doomed to repeat Darmani’s fate, thrown from the path like him, to die on the ice spikes in the cavern below, just like the fallen Goron hero. The last thing he could remember was blacking out as he fell, though there had been no impact, no pain from a mortal wound.
He didn’t feel cold when he came to, and reaching his arms out around himself, he couldn’t find any massive icicles ready to end any unlucky traveller, like himself. In fact, he couldn’t even hear the blizzard anymore, or feel any sort of breeze. His brow beetled with confusion, the Hero of Time slowly sitting up enough to support himself with his elbows, opening his eyes. He was in a forest, reminding him so much of the Lost Woods that, for a second, he was worried he may have died after all, and that his mind was finding solace in a familiar memory before disappearing into nothingness. He looked left and right, seeing endless rows of tall trees stretching off in every direction, each tree thick with green foliage. The ground was simple dirt, no grass to be seen anywhere, offering an oddly dead feeling to the forest, despite the innumerable trees. The forest was dark with night, and upon looking up, Link easily noticed an odd phenomenon occuring with the sky.
There were few stars visible in the sky, twinkling at him from behind blankets of clouds that whipped across the sky, as if living things. The dark clouds moved with such speed that Link believed there should’ve been hurricane-like winds hitting him, but the air was still, damp. He raised his eyebrows for a moment before he called out “Hello? Anybody there?” Nobody answered him, which surprised him, a reaction he knew was silly. He took a few steps forward, putting his hands to his hips as he glanced around. He glanced down to his feet, and discovered, without much surprise, that he was an adult, again. He nodded a little, absent-mindedly saying “Yup. There’s something fishy going on, here.” A voice, soft and faint, murmured in his right ear, catching him off-guard. He spun around, his hand flying up to the Razor Sword sheathed over his back, the replacement for the Master Sword he had eventually acquired during his time in Termina.
His eyes darted around, but at first, he saw nothing but the endless trees. Then, the lights appeared. Three small spheres, one red, one blue, and the last coloured green, floated out from behind three different trees, not too far from him. They were close enough that an audible twinkling sound was coming from them, the three small spheres of light coming close together, forming a short row with one another. Link’s eyes widened a little, a smile coming to him. The goddesses! They must’ve saved him from falling to his death! But where had they sent him, and what of his quest in Termina? Surely they intended to return him to Snowhead Mountain? “Din? Nayru, Farore! Is that you?” He called out, beginning to walk towards them. The lights stayed in place, urging him into almost jogging towards them. When he reached them, he came to a quick stop, glancing between the three lights. He could hear a faint crackling din coming from the lights, so faint Link could barely hear it over the twinkling accompanying it.
He turned his ear to the lights and took another step closer, trying to separate the two sounds. His eyes twitched around with curiosity as he realized that, yes, the crackling had words in it, words spoken by more than one person, but he wasn’t catching nearly enough to know what the voices were saying. He would hear one syllable, then half the sound of another, never enough to make out even a single word. Someone was trying to speak to him, but the connection through the lights was just too weak. “I have no idea what you’re saying, I can barely hear you!” Link loudly said, looking back at the lights. The crackling sound stopped, taking away the faint voices with them. The lights slowly began to move away from him, the twinkling sound continuing as the lights hovered between the trees. Link followed after them, believing that the goddesses had heard him, and had decided that guiding him silently was better than trying to work with an almost-nonexistent verbal connection.
The lights guided him along for what felt like ages. Everywhere Link looked, the forest crawled on and on, stretching off into endless darkness. As he walked along, a soft mist began to collect near the forest floor, hiding Link’s legs from the knees down. Link felt the air become a bit more chilly, his wary eyes darting around for any sign of danger. The lights led him along for another minute or two, until Link found them coming to a sudden stop. Glancing left and right, Link saw that the lights had led him to a clearing in the trees, a long strip cleared away to form a path in the forest. “Which way do I go?” Link quickly asked. A split-second later, hard galloping reached his ears, coming from his left side. His face went confused, Link looking over. He could barely see the figure, like a giant shadow, sweeping along the forest path, flickering in and out of visibility as it passed behind trees. “Hey-” Link said, cut off by the twinkling sound from the lights suddenly dying.
He looked over. The lights had vanished. He looked around, a little surprised by the apparent abandonment. “Hey! Din? Nayru? Farore? Where’d you go?” He called out. “Hey, you! Knight! Over here!” His eyes shot over to a nearby tree, Link finally seeing another living human. The young woman appeared to be nineteen or twenty, looking fit and rather cute to Link’s eyes. She was kneeling behind a tree, leaning to the side just enough to get a proper look at him. She had her chestnut brown hair done in an elaborate style, her hair swept back and done up in five poofs, each poof having a caramel streak to it. Only a small section of some of her bangs were left down, covering the center of her forehead. She wore a complex hairband, with four sections to it, side-by-side. The top layer was black with thin black clothes attached to it, the clothes reaching down over her temples to her jaw. The first and third layers of the hairband were golden, with the second layer coloured green.
Like the black section of the hairband, something was attached to the green, a pair of flat leaves sticking out by the sides of the hairband. She had a round, cheerful face, her cute button nose giving her a rather appealing visage. She had big, happy eyes coloured brown, a bit of black eyeshadow helping her eyes stand out against her light skin. She had ears that were pointed like a typical Hylian’s, though her’s weren’t quite as long as Link’s own, making Link question her heritage. She wore an orange mantle over a turquoise crop-top jacket, the trim of the jacket coloured red. Underneath the jacket, she wore a tight golden shirt, showing off her slim waist and wide hips. She wore a matching blue bracelet on either wrist, as well as a tight choker necklace. The necklace was simple, formed out of a brown cord with a golden coin-like pendant over her throat. She wore a long skirt that reached past her knees, held up on her hips by a loose red sash.
The skirt was primarily turquoise, but the trimming by her knees was coloured red. An apron-like garment hung over the front of her skirt, coloured green. A few symbols were done over the front of the apron, there being four horizontal columns of gold, a small circle in the middle over them all. Link had no idea what the symbol meant. She wore a pair of brown leather boots, quite similar to Link’s own Kokiri boots. “Who’re you?” Link asked, looking at her with curiosity. Her eyes began to panic as she hurriedly said “Quick, get over here before he sees you!” Link’s eyes turned back to the dark shadow racing through the forest, heading steadily in their direction. Link quickly walked over towards the young woman, the girl pulling him behind the tree with her, yanking him down to a knee.
“What’s your name?” Link asked. “Shh!” The girl hissed, her eyes turning fearful. Link raised an eyebrow, wondering why she was so transfixed by the approaching figure. The two waited in silence until the shadow came closer, the hard galloping sound accompanying it making a nervous sweat break out on the young woman’s forehead. Within about a dozen seconds, the shadow was closing in on them, travelling along the stretch of path they were beside. Link’s expression turned curious when the figure came near enough for details to be made out. The figure was riding a tall black horse, the eyes of the powerful steed faintly glowing white. The horse’s saddle was pure black, almost blending in perfectly with the horse’s flesh. A dark brown saddlebag went with the seat, hanging down by the figure’s left side, bulging tremendously with some heavy burden. Riding the horse was an immense figure, Link’s eyes narrowing at the sight of it.
It’s body was easily much taller than Link, despite a very noticeable feature; there was no head on the figure’s shoulders. Despite lacking a head, the figure gripped at the horse’s reins as if very much alive, an unnerving sight, to be sure. The figure had dark brown skin and an incredibly muscular physique, making Link narrow his eyes in recollection. He had seen a creature with that type of body before, but where, he couldn’t remember. The figure had spiked iron pauldrons on his shoulders, along with matching dark brown leather gauntlets and boots on his hands and feet, respectively. A black cape was attached to the figure’s pauldrons, fluttering out behind him. Link stared at the figure for a few seconds before he realized where he had seen the figure’s body type, before. Those giant hog-men from the Sacred Forest Meadow, the mysterious fighters he had only ever seen once, attempting to stop him from reaching the Forest Temple.
Link didn’t even know what they were called, as Navi, for some odd reason, had had nothing to say about them, keeping silent until Link had entered the temple. The figure rode his horse along the path until he was almost directly beside them. Then, suddenly, he yanked on the reins, causing his horse to cry out and rear up, coming to a sudden stop. The horse’s hooves slammed back down into the dirt path, sending out small dusty clouds of earth. “Don’t...Say...A thing!...” The young woman dared to breathe out, looking at Link with a worried expression. Link looked at the creature with a serious expression, his eyes falling to the saddlebag, filled with some immense possession. She peeked over Link’s shoulder, joining him in watching the caped horseman. The woman’s eyes turned dreamy as she murmured out “Do you know what he has in there?...A solid gold pumpkin. Ohh, what I wouldn’t do to have that...”
Link looked at her with complete confusion. What the heck was a pumpkin? As if having heard her words and wanting to torment her, the figure reached down to his saddlebag, flipped open the top, and fished around inside. Slowly, teasingly, the figure pulled out a large object. True to the woman’s words, the object was made of gold, but what exactly it was, Link had no idea, unless it was the mystical pumpkin the woman had mentioned. It was an odd thing, shaped like an oval with several vertical valleys along it’s wide body, as if it were ribbed. It had a short, golden stem coming from the top, curling around a few times before ending in a sharp point. The stem made Link wonder if a pumpkin was a sort of fruit or vegetable, but he didn’t ask her the question on his mind in case the headless rider could hear him. The woman stared at the golden pumpkin with big, euphoric eyes, her mouth hanging open a little.
Link could practically see the statue reflected in her eyes, though what he could sense in her wasn’t exactly greed. It was more innocent. He believed she wanted the statue not because of the worth of the gold, but merely because she thought it was important, like it were an idol to something she revered. The figure held up the statue by his side for several seconds before stuffing it back into his saddlebag. Then, he gave the reins a hard snap, making his steed race off again, rushing down the path with him. Once the headless figure and his horse had become a distant shadow once again, the woman sighed pleasantly, turned around, sat down, and put her back to the tree. “Wow...Did you see the size of that thing? What a statue. It’s so beautiful, I’ve gotta have it!” She lightly said, raising her eyebrows, a wide smile on her face. Link raised an eyebrow, smiling a little. He glanced down at her apron before he said “Hey, uh...That mark on your apron, there. Looks kinda like that statue.”
She looked at him and raised her eyebrows, saying “Yeah, it’s a pumpkin. Don’t you know? You’re a Skyloft knight, I’m sure you’ve been to the Lumpy Pumpkin once or twice. Most knights stop by a few times a week.” Link turned his head to the side, looking at her with a vacant smile. He had no idea what she was talking about, but he didn’t go out of his way to impress that upon her. He offered a hand, saying “Of course. I’m Link, it’s nice to meet you.” She shook his hand, warmly saying “Hi, I’m Kina. It’s nice to meet you. You’ll help me get the golden pumpkin, won’t you?” Link raised an eyebrow, still smiling a little. “Well, sure. But, eh, I don’t suppose you’d know where we are? I don’t know how I got here.” Kina’s face went blank, then confused. Link couldn’t deny, she looked fairly cute when she was confused, with her button nose crinkling up, and her bottom lip pouting out a little.”You know, I...I don’t know how I got here, either. I think I’ve always been here, but...That can’t be true. I haven’t been here for very long, but...I don’t know what I was doing, before.”
Link looked at her with confusion. She looked at him with just as much curiosity, saying “I don’t know. I really don’t. But, in the end, it doesn’t matter. My dad’ll be so shocked when I go home with that pumpkin!” Link glanced at the dark rider, having all but disappeared in the distance. “Oh, yeah? What will you do with that thing?” He asked, pleasantly. She grinned excitedly and said “It’ll be like a trophy! We could keep it inside the Lumpy Pumpkin, as an attraction! Can you imagine all the customers it’ll bring in? Maybe with the extra rupees, my dad could hire someone to help me pick and move all the pumpkins...Jeez, you have no idea how heavy those things are!” Link grinned a little at her and said “Yeah, I can imagine. But, getting it will be a challenge. That rider didn’t look very friendly...Even without his head.” Kina pouted her lips off to the side, somewhat thoughtfully. “Yeah, you’ve got a point.” She admitted. She slowly started to smile again, saying “But, hey, you’re a knight! Plus, that’s a really dangerous-looking sword. Tough guy like you, you could get the pumpkin, couldn’t you?” “I suppose...” Link slowly said, looking at her knowingly, well aware that she was trying to sweet-talk him into the task.
A shudder ran down Link’s spine, and his right arm went cold and numb. He looked over at his limb, not feeling panicked, but a bit startled, all the same. Kina shut her eyes tight, quickly breathing out “Ow, ow! My head!” She raised her hands to her head, planting them both over the back of her head, grabbing herself tight. “You okay?” Link asked, looking over at her. A tingling wave of warmth ran down from his shoulder, running over his arm, feeling coming back to it. Kina slowly opened her eyes, saying “Yeah...Weird. The pain’s already gone.” Lowering her hands, she looked at him with confusion, saying “I have no idea what caused that, but boy, it sure hurt.” “My arm went numb...Gave me a bit of a shock.” “Hmm. This place is peaceful enough, but it must be pretty far from Skyloft. Wait...” Kina smiled widely with disbelief, her eyes a little wide. She shook her head lightly, slowly muttering out “No...No, you don’t think...”
Link raised an eyebrow at her. She looked over at him, raising her eyebrows as she said “You don’t think we’re on the Surface, do you? That just can’t be, if I had fallen from Pumpkin Landing, the Rescue Knights would’ve caught me. Even if they hadn’t...Well, the fall would’ve been too high...You know?” “Eh...Yeah! Much too high.” Link quickly said, nodding in agreement. Kina shrugged and said “Then, what do you think? Maybe this is an island nobody knew about before.” Link glanced left and right, sounding just a little unsure as he said “Yeah, probably.” Kina smiled a little, but said nothing. Kina’s head snapped over to the side as the galloping sound came back, Link looking over again as well, noticing that the headless rider was returning. Their smiles died away, their eyes locked on the shadow as it weaved through the trees towards them. “Now’s our chance. You think you could take that thing on? All we have to do is get to his saddlebag, then we can run!”
“He has a horse, Kina. Running won’t do us much good.” Link quickly replied. Kina looked at him with a bit of a sly expression. “In all the time I’ve been here, I don’t remember ever seeing that thing go off of the path. It always just goes back and forth, like it’s looking for something. I don’t know if it knows I’m here, but I wasn’t about to let it find me. Now that you’re here, though, I might have a real chance at getting that pumpkin!” Link made a bit of a face, mumbling out “Well, I guess if I could get him off of his horse, or something...” Kina grinned. Link sighed slightly, trying to come up with a plan of action as the headless rider came closer. His thoughts drifted over to the Stone Mask. Looking at Kina from the corners of his eyes, he said “Are you sure he won’t come off the trail? I don’t see why he wouldn’t, the trees aren’t too thick for him to ride his horse through here...” “I’m pretty sure.” Kina said, with wavering confidence.
Link was about to look back at the incoming rider, then did a double-take back to Kina. He smiled with amusement, saying “You don’t sound so confident.” Kina narrowed an eye at him and sweetly said “Don’t you trust me?” Link hesitated from answering, clearing his throat before simply saying “I think I’ve got an idea, it’d probably be best if you stayed here, okay?” Kina nodded a little, her eyes glued on the headless rider as he neared. The two stayed perfectly hidden until the dark horse raced out on to the path before them, the rider bringing his horse to a slower stop than before. He didn’t do much of anything for a few seconds before, once again, he flipped open his saddlebag and reached inside. One log-like arm hefted out the golden pumpkin, holding it up by the horse’s side. The headless rider’s horse gave an angry snort, it’s glowing eyes staring off to the side. It gave a threatening neigh, baring it’s teeth, taking a few anxious, fidgety steps back and forth.
Before the rider could do anything, the golden pumpkin was snatched from his hand, shooting off into the trees. The horse reared up and let off a shrieking neigh, kicking around it’s front legs. The headless rider pointed in Link’s direction. Link ran past a few trees before looking back. Kina wasn’t following him, she hadn’t seen him, too busy trying to hide from the dark rider. Link pulled off his misshapen Stone Mask, becoming clearly visible once more, the disguise offered by the mask falling. “Kina! Over here!” Link called out. Kina spotted him, scrambling to her feet, racing after him. A long streak of light boomed into the trees, coming from the horse’s eyes like ghostly beacons. The beacon illuminated both Link and Kina as they ran off, the horse’s rider giving the reins a hard snap. His cape whipped around behind him as the horse took off in a sprint, galloping into the trees after them. Link and Kina stayed close together as they tried to outrun their equestrian pursuer, but as an animal naturally suited to speed, the horse and it’s rider were gaining on them at a frightening pace.
Link glanced back, his eyes turning angry. If push came to shove, he’d fight the rider to defend Kina, he knew that for certain. Before he dropped the golden pumpkin and reached for his Razor Sword, however, the rider suddenly pulled back, slowing down his mount. Link and Kina continued to run, panting, and eventually, the black horse was gaining on them again. The spotlights of it’s eyes made the run through the forest terrifying; the light had the effect of making the darkness on either side become pitch-black, leaving them running through a tunnel of visibility. When the horse was mere feet behind them, Link threw the golden pumpkin forwards, his hands whipping over his shoulders for his sword and shield. The light from the horse’s eyes suddenly died, temporarily blinding Link and Kina as their eyes weren’t adjusted to the dark, anymore. In her blind state, Kina accidentally ran into a tree, banging her head against it, grunting before she collapsed to the ground.
Link heard the rider’s horse run around for a few steps before a pair of heavy feet slammed into the forest floor. Link pulled his Razor Sword free of it’s sheath, holding his Hero’s Shield steady with his other hand. When his sight came back to him enough for him to make out the headless rider, he could see that, instead of heading for his stolen possession, he was making his way towards the downed Kina. Quickly walking over to her, he held his hands out, ready to grab her. Link rushed over and swung his sword for the beast’s hands, his Razor Sword opening a heavy slash over the creature’s right wrist. The creature recoiled, then swung a fist for Link, Link barely ducking in time to avoid the massive hand. “Kina, get up! We’ve gotta run!” Link urged, stumbling backwards before the rider could try stomping on him. Kina, panting, got up to her feet, looking over at the duo as they struggled. The headless creature turned back to Kina, rushing towards her with his arms menacingly outstretched.
Kina cried out, turned, and ran. The beast gave chase, Link hot on his trail, ready to slash out with his sword. Kina ran over to the golden pumpkin, grabbed it, and raced off into the shadows. The ground vibrated with each of the beast’s powerful steps, the large monster moving with surprising speed. Kina, Link, and the beast ran through the trees until a large section of the sky ahead of them lost both clouds and stars. Kina looked up, breathless. They were all approaching a mountain, black with a lack of light. Her eyes fell to the base of the mountain, just ahead. She wished she could see, and as if by response, lights came into life up ahead. Numerous standing braziers, made of metal, were lit up at the top with fire, casting out a warm, welcoming radiance. Just behind the braziers was a cave entrance, offering safety, shelter. Kina smiled with relief, but her stomach felt like a block of ice when a massive hand grabbed at her shoulder, yanking at her dress, almost tearing it open.
She tried running faster, but the beast had her, yanking at her hard enough to make her stumble. Kina screamed with fear as she rammed into the ground, the golden pumpkin rolling away from her, coming to a stop near the braziers ahead. Kina quickly rolled over, trying to scramble away from the creature. He was about to grab her before Link jumped over the beast’s back, grabbing the creature’s left shoulder with his shield hand. Link plunged his sword into the beast’s back like it were a dagger, the sharp blade stabbing into the headless monster for half of it’s length. The beast struggled, quickly turning his attention away from Kina, trying to grab at Link and throw the hero from his back. “Get to the cave, run!” Link loudly urged, stabbing the beast again. Kina got to her feet, grabbed the statue, and bolted. When she got to the braziers and was in the light, she turned back, calling out “Link, come on, we can hide from him!”
Link pulled his sword from the beast and, in a surprising show of finesse, he pulled himself over it, slipping between it’s arms before dropping to the ground in front of it. He took off in a mad dash for the braziers, the headless creature running after him. Kina ran into the cave, Link right behind her. The headless creature came to a stumbling stop before it came into the light, standing just beyond, still in the dark. It stood there for a few seconds, as if staring at them, waiting for them to come back. Eventually, it turned around and walked away, not pursuing them any further. They were both panting as they watched the beast march back off into the trees. Kina carefully put the statue on the cave floor before sitting down with a thud. “We’re safe...He must not...Want to be in the light!...” Kina gasped out, smiling heavily. Link chuckled with relief, looking at her warmly.
“You saved me, twice...You stopped it from grabbing me, both times. I had no idea Rescue Knights could fight so well, I thought you guys were mostly for saving people who fell over the edges of islands?” Kina said, once she had caught her breath. She still sat on the floor of the cave, near the mouth, where there was some light still available from the braziers. The golden pumpkin was sitting in front of her legs, Link across from her, leaning against the cave wall. Link smiled and went along with her idea of him, saying “Yeah, well, we knights might surprise you. When it comes right down to it, we’re pretty capable.” Kina looked up at him with a sparkle of admiration in her eyes. “Well, it’s one thing to hear about it, but it’s quite another to see it. I probably owe you my life. I don’t think that thing wanted to give me a hug.” Link chuckled a little, saying “Probably not. I have to wonder, though...It seemed pretty fixated on you. Only really bothered with me when I attacked it.”
Kina shrugged, saying “Yeah, I know. Your guess is as good as mine, though. Maybe he knew that it was my idea to take the statue? Speaking of which...” She looked down at the golden pumpkin, smiling widely, her eyes sparkling a little with pride. “Look at it...It’s lighter than I thought it would be, but then again, if that thing could pull it out of his saddlebag with one hand, it couldn’t have been too heavy. I can’t wait to hear what my dad has to say when I show up with it!” She grinned at Link, saying “For saving me and helping me get this, I wouldn’t be surprised if he wanted to reward you. Rupees, maybe? Or, maybe you could eat for free? Some Pumpkin Soup every now and then would be fine, I’m sure.” Link smiled more and, rather innocently, suggested “Or, maybe he’d give me the okay to take you on a date.” Kina rapidly blinked twice, as if surprised. Then she looked at him with a playful smile, saying “You think you need to ask my father to go on a date with me? Don’t you think it’d be smarter to ask me, directly?”
Before Link could say anything, Kina looked off to the side, tilted her head a little, and raised an eyebrow. “Sure, I mean, sometimes guys can be a little scared of approaching me, I know. I don’t think they should, but I guess it’s because of how I would sing, sometimes. I see a lot of the same guys at the Lumpy Pumpkin, and they’re always friendly, but...None of them have asked me out on a date, before.” Kina looked upwards, speaking again before Link could get a word in. Playfully, she said “You know, sometimes I wish one of them would come into the place and read a romantic poem to me, sweep me off my feet. Like...Oh, Keet. He’s always in the Pumpkin at night. He’s kind of protective of me, I’ve seen him getting angry with other guys who’re nice to me.” “Maybe he likes you.” Link said, raising an eyebrow. Kina smiled warmly, her eyes falling to the golden pumpkin. “I can see that. But, until he does something about it...”
She shrugged lightly. Kina looked up to him with a shine of admiration, once again. “Keet isn’t the one who helped me get this statue, though. He’s not the one that saved me. You are.” Link chuckled faintly, a cold, numb feeling coming over his legs, making him feel as if they were gone, leaving him floating. He tried not to show his distress on his face. Kina winced a little as she rose to her feet, pausing as throbs of pain rushed through the back of her head. Once the pain had subsided, she started walking towards him. Feeling returned to Link’s legs just as she reached him, her hands coming up to his chest, near his shoulders. Her eyes only partially open, she smiled pleasantly, her eyes running from his down to his lips. She didn’t seem nervous at all about what she was doing, something that Link thought was fairly at odds with her sweet appearance and demeanor. When she gulped, however, he knew she must’ve been more nervous than she was letting on.
Her bravery made Link smile a little, his hands going to her hips. “Whoever Keet is, I bet that if he were in my place, he would’ve done the same.” Link confidently said. “Maybe. But he’s not a Skyloft knight. You’re like a professional knight in shining armour...” Link felt his hands around her to the small of her back, holding her a little closer. Kina’s breath caught in her throat for a moment, innocent excitement blooming in her eyes. They gazed into each other’s eyes for a moment or two, Link giving Kina a chance to change her mind, to decide that maybe she was jumping ahead of herself and getting into something she wasn’t ready for. She was the one to initiate the kiss, closing her eyes, closing the few inches needed, delicately pressing her lips to his. He felt her slip her hands up to his shoulders as he kissed her back, Kina letting out a little breath against his cheek as the two kissed a second time. Kina’s eagerness rose with every oral embrace, Link meeting her passion with equal intensity until the two had met tongues.
Link slipped his hands between her shirt and skirt, running them along her smooth skin, heading upwards. She didn’t stop him as he felt up to the straps of her bra, Link quickly enough finding the fastening for the undergarment. In one swift, fluid motion, he undid her bra. She gasped lightly in her throat, pulled away from his kiss, and raised her hands up to her shirt. By instinct, she covered her chest, not realizing for a moment that she wasn’t nude simply because her bra had been undone. Link grinned a little as Kina gave him a bit of a dirty look, a little smile on her face as she glared at him. “Jeez, I wasn’t expecting that.” She huffily said. She tried reaching up behind herself, trying to slip her arms under her shirt enough to do up the fastening, again. Link watched her struggle for a few seconds before she sighed. She pulled off her crop top jacket as well as her mantle, leaving herself in her sleeveless golden shirt. She draped her jacket over the golden pumpkin before trying again, trying to reach over her shoulders enough to fasten her bra again.
She ended up pulling her shirt up enough that her midriff was entirely exposed, Kina’s face turning more and more annoyed with her troublesome undergarment. Link chuckled before he said “Need some help?” Kina raised an eyebrow at him, promptly turned her back to him, and pulled her shirt up to the back of her neck. “Well, you undid it, it’s only right that you do it back up.” She said, a little sourly though not particularly angrily. Link smiled, his eyes roaming along her creamy skin and the white straps of her undergarment. He raised both his hands to the middle of her back, trailing his fingers down along her spine. “Mm, you’ve got beautiful skin...You’re really soft, it’s wonderful.” Link complimented, with a smile. Kina barely looked at him from over her shoulder. She became flustered, stammering a few times before falling silent. Link came closer and pressed a light kiss to the nape of her neck, teasing her, making her tremble with surprise.
Kina’s face started to turn red as he continued to stroke along her back, enjoying her silkiness. Before she could question him on whether or not he was actually going to do up her bra, he suddenly reached his hands around her, running them along her slim tummy. He brought her closer to himself, touching his chest to her back. Kina released her shirt, saying nothing, still not stopping him. She lowered her arms back by her sides, looking down as he slipped his hands upwards. He pushed her shirt and bra up, making the cups sit atop her breasts. She was a fair size, large enough to comfortably fit his hands. She turned her head to the side, looking at him from over her shoulder again. “Link, u-um...” She nervously stammered. He kissed the back of her neck again, then gave her a gentle little kiss on her cheek. He smiled, gently massaging along her bosom, feeling her soft, delicate flesh run under his fingers and palms. “You’re beautiful, let me see you...” He gently urged.
Before she could protest, he moved one hand down to her left wrist. He raised her hand up and slowly twirled her around, turning her to him. She faced him, her expression embarrassed, her eyes off to the side for a moment before she met his. He smiled, his eyes running along her. “Well...Do you like them?” She asked, a bit hopefully. “Of course I do.” He warmly said, leaning closer, giving her an affectionate kiss. She started to smile sweetly, her eyes pleased. “...I can tell what you want. I’m not as innocent as I look. I know where this is going.” She reached up, pulled her shirt over her head, her eyes glued on his the whole time. She gave her shirt a little toss behind herself, letting it land over the pumpkin statue. She smiled trustingly. “I want it, too. Just, um...” She gave her bottom lip an unsure nibble. “What’s on your mind?” He asked, raising his hands to her hips. She held him by his elbows, smiling warmly as she said “Was there anything really in particular you wanted to do? If not, I had an idea for something...And a, uh...A position.”
“Oh? Like what?” Link asked, holding back a chuckle. Kina’s shoulders sank, and she mumbled out “Jeez, this is embarrassing...I’ve never talked about this, before. Not with a guy, I mean.” “So, no words, then. Just actions.” He offered. She smiled and nodded gratefully. She slipped off her boots, pleasantly murmuring out “Undress with me, Link...” Link kept smiling, beginning to pull off his tunic top, undressing himself from the waist up in a matter of a few simple seconds. She slipped her hands into her skirt, widening the stretchy waist of the garment, letting it fall to the cave floor around her feet. She wore a small pair of black socks, the socks barely covering her ankles. She wore a pair of white panties to match her bra, the panties having a tiny pink bow attached to the fabric, near the top of the front. A small dark spot, no bigger than a fingerprint, had developed in her panties, catching Link’s eyes for a moment. As Link started to undo his tunic bottoms, Kina looked at him a bit anxiously, saying “Hey, Link...I wanna ask you something. It’s important.”
Link paused, able to tell by her tone that she wanted him to take her seriously. He nodded, saying “Go ahead.” Kina raised her right foot, slipping off her sock. As she took off her left sock, she said “After this...Are you still gonna like me, once we’re done?” Link smiled pleasantly, his eyes closing a little with warmth. “Do you really think I won’t?” Kina raised her eyebrows a little bit, looking off to the side as she hesitantly said “Well...We are getting into this pretty easily...It might not mean much to you, because of that.” Link smiled more, letting his tunic bottoms remain barely fastened. He came closer to her, slipped his arms around her waist, brought her closer, and kissed her passionately. She took in a breath through her nose, eagerly kissing him in return. Link unabashedly reached down, quickly running his fingers over her plump tush before giving her a firm squeeze with both hands. Shocked by the unexpected grab, she moved closer to him, her nipples brushing against his bare chest.
He released her bum, then gave her another tight squeeze. Kina suddenly jammed her hands into his tunic bottoms, undid them, and forced them to fall. She took a step back, forcing him to release her backside. She smiled excitedly and looked down. He noticed a sparkle cross her eyes when she saw the tent he was pitching in his undergarments, the young woman undeniably eager to see what lay beneath the fabric. Without looking for approval or asking permission, she hooked her fingers into his undergarments, tugged them down, and let him spring out. Link’s smile started to turn into a grin as he expression morphed. Her eyes turned a little wider. Her mouth hung open a crack. She wasn’t smiling anymore, staring at him for a few seconds, rapt by the sight. She eventually closed her mouth and met his eyes. She mischievously bit at her bottom lip, beginning to smile again. She pinched the straps of her panties between her thumbs and index fingers, slowly nudging them down until they were loose enough to fall on their own.
She took a step closer to him again, spreading her legs a little as she did so. Link felt surprised enough by her action that he gulped quietly. With his member sticking out like a rod, and with Kina being close to his height, his member slipped between her thighs as she brought her front to his. She brought her legs closer together as she started kissing him again, raising her hands to his elbows, holding his arms. Link could feel the heat of her nether lips, her moistening womanhood kissing his shaft. Her thighs hugged him up close to her crotch, Link able to feel her soft pelt of pubic hair tickling at his base. Kina whimpered lightly as Link nibbled at her bottom lip, teasing her. She gently inched her hips back and forth, running his member along herself, raising a slow burn between them. Link let her rub his stiffness along her slickening valley for a moment more before ceasing their kissing, lightly saying “You had something you wanted to do?...”
Kina smiled, giving him a sultry look. “Mhm. All you have to do...Is stay still.” Link smiled a little, looking at her with faint anticipation. Kina puckered her lips for a moment, making a light smooching sound. She rested a hand against his chest, signalling him to stay put. She slowly started to descend, kneeling down in front of him, getting into a comfortable position. She came near his groin, smiling pleasantly, her eyes glued on his tip. She wasted no time, her cheeks burning red with blush as she gave his tip a kiss. The electric sensation made him twitch, Kina almost laughing with surprise, watching him bob around before her face. Link smiled a little and said “Yeah, it tends to do that...”
Kina looked up at him, a naughty flash crossing her face. “Oh, I see...Maybe I should confine him then, hmm?...” She teased. Link grinned a little in response. Kina opened her mouth a little, stuck her tongue out, and flicked it across his tip. She reached up and held on to his thighs as she brought her head to the side of his shaft, running her tongue along the underside of his member, getting his length moist. She mumbled lightly, looking up at him, meeting his eyes. His left arm went numb, a chill passing over his spine. Kina paused momentarily as heavy pangs of pain shot through the back of her head. Neither of them wanted to ruin the moment, and so, neither of them mentioned the momentary disturbance to the other.
Link watched her lick along him a little more before she pulled back, bringing his tip before her mouth again. She opened her mouth and teased him, slowly running her tongue along her lips, making them glisten. Link’s cheeks slowly began to turn crimson. Despite apparently being somewhat inexperienced, she was obviously eager to please, to have him remember her as a satisfying lover. She kept her eyes on his, Link watching her take his tip between her lips, running them over his skin. She was quick to take in more of him, her breathing quickening as she gave him a few hard sucks, trying to use as intense a suction as she could muster. She closed her eyes, bobbing her head a few times, running her tongue around at him. Link smiled a little, watching her like a teacher would watch a student. She was a little clumsy, but she was clearly trying her best, and she was making sure not to touch him with her teeth. Link stood still and let her do as she pleased, Kina eventually getting into a fair rhythm, hungrily bobbing her head, letting her lips glide along him as she moved.
After around a minute of suckling at him, she opened her eyes, looking up and giving him a cute look. Her tongue wiggled around at the underside of his tool as she tried mumbling something to him. She reached over to his hands, holding them as she moved them. She lightly rested his hands over her head, inviting him to hold her. Link, a little unsure at first, lightly held her, watching as she smiled around his member, closing her eyes again. She suddenly went into a burst of speed, moving her head back and forth at a speedy pace, giving a light moan in her throat. Link continued to hold on to her, closing his eyes and leaning his head back, stifling a little moan. It had been some time since he had last gotten sexual release, meaning his stamina wasn’t exactly up to snuff. In particular, the thought that Kina might’ve been tasting herself on him was scorching him towards his finish, so enticing was the fantasy. He let out a little groan, his fingers sinking into her soft hair.
She could apparently decipher the changes coming over his body, as she let him slip from her mouth, a big, happy smile on her face as she grabbed him in one hand. Link looked down at her as she started pumping her fist as fast as she could. He could feel her sliding along him thanks to her saliva, and in a few more seconds, he tensed up. She looked up and watched his face as it happened, Link blowing the first wad of his essence straight into the middle of her chest. Kina looked downwards, still stroking him, trying to milk out more. He quickly spewed another two milky loads, one hitting her over the middle of her chest again, the other landing on her right breast. Kina was practically beaming, her eyes partially closed as she looked up to his eyes. “Wow, I had no idea it’d be so white...It’s so thick it’s not even moving.” She observed, obviously trying to tease him in his afterglow. Link, breathing a little deep, met her eyes and chuckled lightly.
“Well, I’ve been busy, haven’t been able to go on many dates...Eh, would you like something to wipe that off with? I think I’ve...” He trailed off, his eyes falling to her chest. Kina’s entire face began to burn red as she brought a hand up to her chest, rubbing around at his seed, spreading it along on her chest like it were lotion. Link didn’t say a thing, blushing a little as he watched her. “You were saying?” She raised an eyebrow at him, smiling with satisfaction. “Never mind.” Link warmly answered, grinning a little. “You had a position in mind?” He added, offering a hand to help her stand. She held his hand with the one not glazed with his seed, Link helping her up until she was standing again. She gave him a quick peck on his cheek before lightly saying “Well, it depends. Can you go again, so soon?” Link grinned, slipped a hand up between her legs, and rubbed a few fingers along her warm mound. Kina blinked, smiling faintly, her eyes a bit embarrassed.
“I’m sure you won’t have any problem coaxing me into going again.” He gave her a wink, making Kina smile excitedly. “Okay, so...You lie down, like this...” Kina held his hand as he stepped away from the wall, taking a seat when he knew he’d have room to stretch his legs. He laid down on the cave floor, a not too comfortable surface he otherwise would’ve hated to be upon, were it not for the promise of what was to come. Kina smiled at him, turned her back to him, and stepped over him. She squatted down over his loins, leaning forward a little so she could hold on to his legs, steadying herself. Link’s eyes drifted down her back to her plump tush, her peach-like posterior beckoning to him. Due to her position, Link could easily see her bodily treasures, her cheeks parted to show off her rosebud, her blushing lips glistening just below. Kina looked down to their lower bits, taking her hands from his knees. She held his still-stiff rod with one hand, holding him steady near his base.
He watched her reach her other hand down to her quim, spreading herself apart, revealing her pink. She lowered her hips a bit more, making his tip prod against her slick valley, the young woman making him rub back and forth around her entrance. He felt her rub him around at her clitoris a few times, Link feeling a burst of energy come over him, the feeling of her hard button-like nub rubbing around at him making him eager for passion. She looked over her shoulder at him, her expression cutely amused by her playing. She looked back down to their nether regions, lowering his tip until he was aimed for her love canal. She took her hands from them both as she came down further, making Link sink into her body, a little moan escaping her. She descended as far as she could while remaining in her squatting position, able to get just a little over half of his length inside her. Link quietly watched as she held him by his legs again, slowly raising her hips up. Link’s eyes were on his member for that first upwards movement, watching with an odd satisfaction at how her juices were making him shine.
Kina slowly rocked her hips up and down, letting out a few slow breaths as she tried getting used to his presence. Link could spot her inexperience in another fashion, now; she was rather tight down below, her insides gripping his member as if to beg him never to leave. Again, Kina was as eager to move as she would be to enjoy a favourite treat, shaking her hips enough to make him move with some delectable force. Making him jam inside her with every piston-like pump, she let out a shuddering breath, slowly smiling at the feeling. Link watched her ample backside bounce up and down a few times, eventually closing his eyes and reaching his arms up. He linked his hands together behind his head to give him something to rest on, other than the rough floor. “Ohh, it’s nice...” She lightly said, hanging her head down a little, her bangs swaying along her forehead as she moved. Link relaxed and let her control the action, feeling her inner walls slide along him, gripping whenever Kina would tighten up more than usual.
By hardly moving at all, combined with the drop in his sensitivity thanks to his previous orgasm, he felt numbed to the point that he knew he could last quite some time. Kina bounced in his lap until little droplets of sweat began to bead on her back, the young woman heating up from her exertions. Link opened his eyes and lifted his head a little, Kina having gone into a sudden burst of speed. She let out a long, quiet moan, almost breathing out the sound of ecstasy. Her insides spasmed around Link, trembling as she almost put his manhood in a stranglehold. Kina sat down in his lap entirely, letting him stay still in her depths as she panted. He could feel her heartbeat through her orifice, pounding in the afterglow of her euphoric explosion. Link watched her back rise and fall, smiling heavily in realization at what had just happened. He reached a hand over and gave her a few pats over her rump, her right cheek jiggling slightly as a result. “Having fun?” He asked, amused.
Kina smiled, barely looking at him from over her shoulder, peeking at him. She said nothing, surprising him by suddenly standing up, letting him slip free from her second set of lips. She turned around, facing him, getting back down in a squat. Again, she slipped him into her depths, breathing hard as she quickly started moving. She kept her hands on her knees, biting her bottom lip as she gave him an excited look, a big smile on her face for a few seconds. “How do you like me?” She asked, looking for encouragement. “Mm, you feel great...” He said, making her grin momentarily. “Tell me when you’re close, okay?...” She breathed out, Link’s eyes falling to her chest, her petite globes bouncing lightly from her movements. He closed his eyes again, resting his head back, letting her fan the flames of pleasure in his loins. She enjoyed watching his face during the act, her eyes on his face as she decided to move a bit harder.
Almost crashing herself down into his lap, Link let out a light breath, his nerves tingling from being shoved into her so forcefully. Link’s legs turned cold and numb for several seconds, and pain throbbed through Kina’s head. Still, neither of them told the other about their mysterious symptoms, Kina’s pain drowned somewhat in the face of her pleasure. They continued as they were for close to another seven minutes, until, ultimately, Link came to a point with which he was not familiar. He knew, if he wanted to, he could hold out and continue to make love with Kina. All he needed was a bit of self-discipline. Though, he had been subjected to wondrous pleasure for some time by then, and wanted his orgasm, not wanting to push it away. Kina interrupted his sex-trance by letting out a whimpering moan, her eyes closed, her eyebrows raised a little. Her movements turned jerky and sporadic, and then, she gushed a short geyser of watery cum, her warm fluids splashing out over her stomach.
With every pang of pleasure whipping through her body, with every scorch of fire rushing through her veins, she would let out a very subdued little groan, a choked little sound of pleasure. Seeing her finish again, this time with a display of girl-cum for added eroticism, flung Link towards his own ending. His manhood felt wreathed in fire as he groaned out “Kina-!” She acted before he could continue, relieving him of the need to speak further, making him trail off. She pulled her hips up, let him slip from her sopping wet depths, then crashed back down over his thighs, sitting on his legs. She grabbed his member tight, stroking along him so fast her hand was a blur, shooting back and forth between her splayed thighs. She angled him away from her, pointing his rod back towards him, letting out a pleased moan as she watched the first load fly out.
Link quietly groaned as ecstasy fluttered over him like a warm blanket, feeling his own seed hit his stomach, mingling with her juices in a warm cocktail of passion. They were both panting a little, Kina smiling from ear to ear as she slowed down her stroking. Once she was sure he was done cumming, she released him and began to move. She got on her hands and knees over his legs, her face over his stomach. She leaned over far, closed her eyes, and started licking at the wet mess over Link’s abdomen. Link looked down at her, a surprised expression coming over him. Kina looked up at him with a pleased smile, lapping up some of their mixed cum, tasting their creation. Link rested his head back again, a satisfied look crossing him.
Once Kina had tasted enough of their joined fluids, she sat up beside him, the both of them resting beside one another. Kina seemed quite pleased with what they had done, a warm smile radiating from her constantly. “That was really fun.” “Mm, I had a good time, too.” Link said, looking at her contently. Link squinted as golden light began to fill the cave, mumbling with confusion. Kina had to squint as well, raising a hand over her face to shield her eyes. “Hey, what the...? The heck’s making that light?” She muttered. She lowered her hand enough to look into the light, Link starting to sit up. He turned around, getting on a knee, looking at what was creating the light. He shivered momentarily before collapsing down to the cave floor, his head banging against the floor, making him wince. A wave of cold had crossed him, so powerful that his muscles had gone rigid, making him feel paralyzed. Kina groaned between clenched teeth, raising both hands to her head for a second, her eyes shut tight in pain.
Blindly, she crawled towards the light, feeling her hands along the rough stone beneath her. When she found it, she grabbed it tight. Opening her eyes, the light began to dim, letting her stare at the object. The light had been radiating from the golden pumpkin, casting a heavenly glow over Kina’s entire body. Link watched her with curiosity. She stared at the statue with wide eyes for several quiet seconds before her mouth started to hang open. Link watched her with confusion, beginning to turn pale, trembling constantly as he lay in a heap. “K...Kina?...” He mumbled out. Kina didn’t even look at him. A moment later, she spoke. She spoke slowly, quietly, horrified realization dawning in her eyes. “This...Isn’t real. None of this is. I remember what I was doing, now...” She looked over in Link’s direction, her eyes wide. Her chin trembled as she said “I’m unconscious, right now...I was carrying a bunch of pumpkins t-to the shed, and I tripped...There’s this little slant in the path down to the shed, and I lost my footing...One of them landed right over the back of my head, and...”
The walls of the cave began to wobble in and out, as if the cave were a living thing, breathing all around them both. The lights outside the cave mouth began to flicker and dim. Link stared at her with disbelief. Kina dropped the pumpkin to the floor. As soon as it hit the rock by her feet, it burst into a small puddle, the liquid gold oozing out over the stone. Kina raised a hand to the side of her head, quietly saying “This isn’t real!...My dad doesn’t know I’m hurt...I...” Red trickled down the back of Kina’s head, coming from under her hair. Heavy footsteps echoed out through the cave, coming from barely a few feet deeper into the cave. They both looked over, and the last thing they saw before the light died entirely was the headless rider, arms outstretched towards them.
“Link...Please...Get up...It’s t-too cold...I...” Link heard Tatl’s voice come to him quietly, weakly. He couldn’t feel his body. A whooshing roar sounded out, coming from above. Link’s eyelids felt glued together, but he managed to force them apart. He could see the sky, blue, along with a veritable curtain of white rushing across the sky in a wave of frost. Three high spikes made of ice jutted up around him, it being nothing short of a miracle that Link hadn’t landed on them or any of the other spikes beneath Snowhead Temple. He was lying in a pile of snow, his clothes soaked through completely, sticking to his skin like a layer of solid ice. He groaned, letting Tatl know he was awake. She gasped with surprise and relief, lying over his chest, unwilling to abandon him when he had fallen over the edge. He was no longer in the form of Darmani, back in his small child body. Darmani’s mask lay over Link’s chest, Tatl having apparently pulled it from him shortly after his fall.
“Link, we...We have to turn back time...Y-You can try g-getting to Snowhead Temple again...” She sounded sleepy, a dangerous sign that frightened Link. He tried moving his left arm, but it simply wouldn’t respond to his commands, pangs of pain shooting up his nerves at the mere attempt. When he tried to move his right arm, his fingers twitched, a promising signal he tried taking advantage of. His arm felt like it were made of paper, the snow as concrete over his limb. He felt enfeebled, almost to the point of hopelessness, but through sheer force of will, he managed to pull his arm free of the snow. He looked at his hand with dull shock. His fingers were so azure they had almost turned purple. He reached across his chest, plunged his hand into the snow by his side, and dug around until he found a solid object. He pulled his other arm free of the snow, letting it fall over his stomach. Time was running out, both for him and his fairy companion.
He found the Ocarina of Time inside his tunic, and placed it under his chin. He had to use one hand to adjust the other, getting both primed for utilizing the instrument. Tatl weakly mumbled his name. Link brought the Ocarina to his pale lips. He played one note, readjusted his fingers, then played another. Playing each note took agonizing effort; his lungs felt they were shadows of their former selves, able to hold a fraction of the oxygen they could before his fall. Finally, the last note was played. Link closed his eyes. The snow around him disappeared. The cold faded, warmth blooming through him like the goddesses themselves had kissed him with heat. He smiled peacefully as he fell through a column of white light, heading back for his first day in Clock Town...
