**Author's Note** I apologize for it being so long since I have updated a chapter here. This story is continuing and I do plan to finish it to the end of the game. Please bear with my delays. Anyways, it's time to move on. Up ahead is a short bit of story, the introduction of a game mechanic, and then quite a lot of battle. I've got to give you combat fiends your fix. Then some sexiness at the end that leads into the next chapter.

Chapter 7 - Attitudes Change
Five boys sat around the chapel of Galam Castle. They all looked melancholy as they mourned the girl who had been with them. “Why did we bring her up here?” Slade asked but hadn't been trying to be disrespectful.
“She was a priest. Well in training anyway.” Chester said.
“She would have wanted to come here.” Bowie followed up after Chester's comment.
Staring through a window at nothing in particular, the red mage gritted his teeth angrily. “Foolish girl...why would she dart into danger like that?” He muttered woefully. His anger was only a mask for his grief though. What had happened next surprised him.
Jaha ran over to him and grabbed him by his robes. “It's because of you, you idiot! She didn't want to lose anybody in a fight! But you keep rushing in ahead where we fighters can't cover for you!” Jaha looked furious but Kazin could see the sorrow behind his eyes. He was scared, as they all were.
That was when the chapel priest raised his hands. “Please, please! No more violence. It does not do to fight amongst friends.” Jaha let the wizard go and sat against the wall to sulk. That was when the priest walked up to the leader of the group. “Your friend that you brought here… may I have a closer look at the girl?” Bowie nodded and everyone sat passively while watching the old man look Sarah over. “Such a shame. This is no way to treat a child. Hmm, what’s this? I can feel her spirit.”
“WHAT?!” All five boys shouted in unison.
Bowie rushed over and that was when the priest noticed the jewel that was magically infused into his neck. It radiated with positive energy in the same way that the girl's spirit resonated to the priest. Placing a hand on Bowie's shoulder he said, “The light allows you to continue your adventure. I can recall her soul.”
“Really?!” Chester asked sounding amazed.
“Bullshit, this I have to see.” Slade chuckled in disbelief.
After everyone scowled at him, the priest looked to Bowie again. “It is a mix of divine magic and alchemy. I can use gold and your connection to those who have fallen in order to light the way for the spirit to return to the flesh. But the gold used will be destroyed as a fuel for the ritual. Also this magic may become more difficult to perform if done repeatedly. Do you want me to recover this girl's soul?” After checking his total and finding that he had 1742 gold coins at the moment Bowie was happy to pay the meager sum of 50 gold. The priest nodded and took the gold from Bowie's hand. First the priest used a powerful healing spell on Sarah's wounds. Then the group watched as he prayed over her body until the gold in his hands melted away. Suddenly her lips parted as she took a breath. “Sarah is revived!” He announced joyously.
“SARAH!” Bowie, Chester and Jaha all shouted before rushing to hug her. Meanwhile Slade’s jaw had hit the floor. He could not believe what he had just witnessed.Furthermore, Kazin tried to control himself as he was choked up by a mix of relief and guilt.
“Wh-what happened?” Sarah asked nervously as she hugged her friends. They pulled back and smiled to her as if they hadn't seen her in ages. But that is when she remembered her final moments which caused her to suddenly freeze and scream. “AAHHH! WHAT IN GOD'S NAME DID THAT BRUTE DO TO ME?!” She shrieked and instantly began pulling at her robes. The priest and all five boys averted their eyes as she inspected her lady parts but then she seemed to calm down. “There's… no wound.”Then she felt upward along her abdomen and throat. Afterwards she dropped her robes back down and reached out. “Bowie...everybody… what happened?”
It was Kazin who spoke up next as he stepped closer to the group. “We had the priest of the chapel revive you. Apparently the Jewel of Light which Bowie recovered is a handy trinket to have around.” He then took a sigh of relief as Sarah looked to him with no disdain in her eyes. As far as he could tell she harbored no ill will towards him.
Now Sarah's friends took a few moments to fill her in on what had happened after the battle. While this was going on though, Slade had stepped over to the priest. “Um, if you could do that for the girl then do you think that you could help me as well?” He asked apprehensively.
The priest was surprised as he looked the ratman over. “Oh? Are you injured?” But Slade shook his head.
“It's not for me. When I was captured, the soldiers killed my friends…”
But now the priest sighed and placed a hand on Slade’s shoulder. “I am sorry but I cannot help you. You would have needed to bring your friends bodies to me. And the boy from Granseal, he would have needed to know your friends spirits in life. I have no power to bring back that which is lost. It is the Light that allows that boy and his friends to continue their journey.”
Just then Sarah spoke up and interrupted their conversation. “Come with us, Slade. You might not have been able to save your friends. But maybe you can help us save and other people's friends while you redeem yourself for what you have done along the way.” The ratman nodded to her as he finally stood up from where she had been laid upon the ground. “You just need to get stronger. Strong enough to defend yourself and your friends around you. Just like I do…” She trailed off.
“Sarah?” Bowie ask her, sounding a bit worried.
However she adopted a serious expression and marched toward the door. “I need to get stronger!” She shouted to everyone's surprise. “Jaha, here take this!” She commanded, handing him her staff.
“Wh-wh-what are you giving me this for?!” Mumbled the confused dwarf.
“I don't need it. Sell it. I'm going to train without it.” Sarah decreed.
Chester then walked up to her in concern. “Are you not going to be a priest anymore?”
The blue haired girl chuckled. “Of course I am stipp going to be a priest. But I will never let anything happen to me again like what that Galam Knight did to me! I will keep all of you healthy while you fight but I am going to train and practice to get stronger all the time now! So let's get going!” She said before suddenly casting a basic healing spell on herself even though she wasn't even hurt.
Bowie could feel her conviction and nodded. “It sounds good to me. I'll help you in any way that I can. Now let's get going! Every moment spent lingering here is another moment that Galam invades Granseal without us doing anything to stop it!” Now the rest of them nodded, all following right along with their leader’s decision. Bowie bade goodbye to the priest before leading his compatriots out from Galam Castle.
- Not Long Later -
“Halt!” Called a Galam guard. The Force had just left the drawbridge exiting Galam castle. They were now in the southern expanse of Galam were the invading soldiers had matched on. As Bowie and Slade looked on, they saw a soldier and archer in the nearby treeline. “How did you get passed the Galam guards?! No one is allowed to leave ‘till we conquer Granseal!”
Now Slade decides that he would try to be slick as he called out, “I know… ah… but… King Galam… left this behind.”
Not trusting the ratman’s uncertain tone the archer shook his head as the soldier said, “And you want to bring it to him? Hmmmm. I don't know.”
Suddenly another soldier came up from the south after hearing the commotion. “What's going on here?”
“They want to deliver a package to the King.” Said the archer.
The new soldier thought for a moment. “To King Galam? It sounds important. But he has not rescinded his orders yet... I had better bring it to him. I'll get the package from them.”
Overhearing this Slade whispered Bowie, “I think we're in trouble!”
Stepping up to where Bowie stood the guard said, “Hand it over! I'll deliver it to…? You!!!” After shouting in surprise he took a step back. “How did you escape from jail?!” Turning on the spot he yelled out, “Hey, these are the Grandseal spies!”
Slade grabbed his dagger as he saw all the soldiers drawing their weapons. “Oops, that didn't work!”
Now the Force rushed together as they readied for combat. Kazin was the first to react, being as quick witted as he was. But this time he held back. “Bowie, there are two enemies together in the trees. What do you want us to do?” Sarah in particular smiled seeing this new side to the wizard as watched as Bowie pointed down the field across the the trees.
“Do nothing for now, remain here and let them come to us so we don't get surrounded.” Looking to where Bowie had pointed, Kazin now saw that there was another tauric Knight waiting down field. The wizard nodded and stood his ground. Bowie took only a single step ahead of Kazin and then called out. “Okay so they had a spear user to the south and an archer to the east. They're going to try to use their range against us. Let's bring them in!” Chester nodded, moving forward to draw the fire of the other centaur but while still remaining in range of his friends. Jaha moved through the trees testing the range of the archer to try and draw him ahead of the accompanying soldier. Slade didn't seem to need any direction as he hung back beside the wizard.
While Bowie's strategy was sound, he had underestimated the Galam Knights mobility. “Going to end you quick, boy!” The Knight growled as he threw his spear to try and take out their leader.
The blow was not heavily damaging and he noticed that the archer moved but was not quick in range yet. “It looks like we have our first target!” The young lad yelled. Meanwhile Sarah slipped through the trees away from the enemies to heal Bowie's damage from behind him.
Following Bowie's lead Kazin now took a ranged flanking position on the Knight who had changed forward. “Blaze!” He shouted sending a moderate fire to burn the foe.
Just then they were all taken by surprise. Another Galam Knight charged in and also tossed a spear toward the blond boy. No one had seen him coming as the blow grazed across his other shoulder. “Bowie!” Sarah yelled in surprise as she had only just healed him.
“I'm fine!” He called out. “Stick to one target at a time!” Chester nodded and didn't pause to speak before tossing his own spear into the first Knight. Just after the blow landed, Bowie cause the Knight from the other side with his sword which was enough to cut the centaur down. After this Slade kept himself separated from the combat as he snuck his way back around Chester. Sarah moved to try and distance herself from the remaining Knight as she again healed Bowie from behind.
“Don't worry!” Jaha yelled as he jumped right into the centaur axe first. “We aren't letting these guys through!” Right after his attack they allow the archer finally advance but they had done well for maintaining their positioning which kept the archer still out of range. Meanwhile the accompanying soldier was doing well of keeping himself defensively in front.
That was just what Bowie had been waiting for. The soldier was now just a bit too close and the Force leader now shouted, “Kazin! Let them have it!”
The Galam fighters were taken by surprise as a teenage came out of nowhere from behind Bowie. “Blaze 2!” He shouted. Then a barrage of fire came raining from the sky. The soldier was nearly toasted alive in a single blow and the Archer lost over half his health in an instant. Kazin grinned, feeling his success broaden his abilities to new heights. “Alright, mission accomplished. Now let's pick them off boys!” Kazin called because he had to rush into the open to make that blast. However just then something caught Kazin's eye now that he was down field. He saw a billowing of blue and a long wooden staff. On his other side he saw that Bowie was approaching to finish off one of the burned targets. “ENEMY MAGE!” Kazin screamed just in time.
Bowie managed to stop before he got too close. Whipping around behind the Galam Knight he darted into the trees before stabbing the Knight in the back.“Don't worry, we’ll pull through!” He called to the wizard. Bowie knew he had now just placed himself between three opponents but they would all fall soon. As the leader he needed to keep himself away from mages who could really deal him some hurt. Being at full health
Chester charged down field. Taunting the mage away from his friends he stuck out his tongue before turning to throw his spear to finish the archer. His blow was not quite strong enough to be fatal on its it's own but he still felt enough experience to help him grow stronger for next time. As this was happening the Knight which had been passed by decided to change targets. “Insolent fools!” Then with a hurl of his spear Kazin took a mighty blow. Blood spilt from his lips as his stomach had been pierced and he dropped to one knee from the strike. Following this the Knight spoke to the soldier who had been guarding the archer. “You there, finish that mage. Now!”
As instructed the soldier rose his sword eager for vengeance from being burned. However before he could close the distance Slade finally snuck into place and thrust with his dagger. “Just the chance I was waiting for. Die sucker!” After a quick cut below the armor the soldier fell dead. Slade looked proud until an arrow zipped right passed his cheek.
“Giiaaah!” Slade turned to see that Kazin had been struck on his good side. Now the wizard was on the ground and bleeding heavily but he was breathing. “Don't worry...I'll make it… just…” However now time seemed to allow down for Slade. Sarah was calling out. She was reaching out and yelled to get their attention. But she wasn't the only blue robbed figure that Slade saw. “.... EIIIAAAHHHHH!!!!” Kazin screamed as his robes cause fire and soon his whole body was engulfed in flames. There behind him they all saw the enemy mage who had casted a Blaze spell of his own. The mage seemed to have three creepy red eyes that glowed from beneath his dark hood.
Jaha was the next to react, cutting down the Galam Knight to finally put an end to it. “Hey, why is everybody standing around?!”
But just then Sarah rushed forward and threw herself against the enemy mage. “Bowie! Get us out of here!” She yelled before casting a healing spell on herself even though no one left was hurt.
Chester then threw his spear towards the mage landing a dire blow. “But we can do this!”
The mage became frustrated about Sarah not allowing him to pass so he turned on her with another minor Blaze spell. She was hurt by it but still standing. Sarah called out again but Bowie was hesitating. He saw as Slade managed to kill the remaining Archer and Jaha closed in on the mage. Sarah healed herself from the damage but then shouted, “There is another wave coming!” She shouted and finally sue saw her leader nod.
“Slade, finish off the mage! Everyone else fall back!” He waited for his orders to be carried out. The mage had apparently run out of stamina and Sarah got one last healing spell in before Bowie shouted, “Egress!” Quickly they were all pulled away from where they stood to back at the Galam Chapel. Once there they licked their wounds and contemplated on the battle. Slade had grown a little stronger from finishing the mage off. However Bowie now had to face the Chapel Priest.
“I told you, to use this magic repeatedly would become more difficult. Now 80 good would be needed to recall Kazin's soul. You must be more careful!” The priest chastised him. Bow nodded and handed over the sum, seeing their funds were now up to 2320 even after paying that fee.
“AAHHH! AHH, AHHH!” Kazin screamed as he awoke.
Quickly Sarah rushed to him and in a soothing voice said, “It's alright, the flames are gone. You have been revived."
The wizard shuddered a bit but nodded to her. “Be-being burned alive… was most unsettling. I now have a newfound respect for the foes I have vanquished in the past.”
Sarah placed a hand on his knee to steady him. “And those yet to be vanquished.” She said encouragingly. Kazin blushed a bit but nodded.
However Bowie spoke to his group now with a concerned tone. “Hey guys, we might be in trouble here. It's getting late. At this point it will be dark soon. Soldiers will be returning to the castle as they rotate their battle shifts if the invasion isn't already over. Once they do escape from Galam will be impossible.”
Jaha spoke up next while sounding worried. “I don't think we are going to make it home to Granseal by tonight. How long has it been since we left home?”
“Three days… about.” Sarah answered. “We spent one day fighting and staying in that cave. Then it took another day to get to Hawell’s where we were captured and spent the night here in Galam. Today is the third day and it's already nearly dusk.”
Chester gave a whine as he said, “So we have to fight our way back out and then we're hiding out in the woods until morning?”
“Suits me just fine.” Slade commented.
Ignoring him Bowie stepped toward the doorway. “If we're going to go then let's do it now. I'd rather fight the Galam forces again on the outside where they can't shut the gate on us.”
Everyone gave a nod and the priest bade them farewell. “Remember, the light allows you to continue your adventure.”
- Back in the Fields South of Galam -
“They've regained their forces!” Jaha yelled, seeing an archer with soldier in the trees and a Galam Knight further down.
Bowie wasted no time in shouting, “We expected that! Everybody break south! Take our the Knights quickly!” He said while staring at the Galam centaur, knowing that there was another nearby. Kazin stayed his ground letting the fighters take point. Meanwhile Chester was able to rush the enemy centaur and strike the first blow of the fight.
Pushing through the Knight ran passed Chester, preferring a smaller target as he tossed his short spear at Slade. “Gggrrrr.” The ratman staggered but raised his hand saying, “I'm fine, I'm okay.” He then watched as Bowie ran around him and dealt a heavy blow. The Knight stumbled a bit and that was when Slade grinned. “Heh, time for some payback. Go, go, I've got this one!” He said seeing Jaha move passed him. Digging his dagger into the blow that Boqoe had already made, Slade was able to bring the whole centaur down dead. He grinned feeling stronger from fighting with this group and he smiled back as he saw Sarah heal his wounds.
“Here they come!” Chester called out, sacrificing another first strike on the second Knight in the distance to take a defense stance for the group instead. Meanwhile the rest of the force spread out to allow the Galam forces to advance. The Knight attacked first, throwing a spear at Bowie but he withstood the blow well. However this also placed the right directly between Bowie, Chester and Jaha. The archer was next but when he launched an arrow towards Chester it practically bounced off of his armor. Meanwhile the soldier sped around and decided to go toe to toe with Jaha. The Galam soldier though barely managed to scratch Jaha attacking axe to axe against him.
“Hey, no fair! I can't heal you guys if you don't get hurt!” Sarah laughed as she approached and healed Jaha's single point of damage.
Just then Kazin walked passed her smirking. “Well isn't this fortuitous? Blaze 2!” He yelled catching both the Knight and the soldier together in his spell. Then after the Knight caught Chester's spear to the back, both enemies were left with only a single point of life each.
“Clean up crew, coming through!” Slade laughed as he snuck by and silenced the second Knight. But then Slade looked surprised as he turned. “Chester! Heads up!”
Suddenly a fire broke out around Chester but after a moment the was able to stomp it off. “Don't worry, I've got a lot more than that left in me!”
Knowing that his sword would be more effective again the mage’s soft robes than the Archer’s leather armor, Bowie raced down cutting a large chunk out of the spellcaster. “Soften boys, soften them up! We've got this, let the others finish them off!”
Jaha yelled and used his axe to cleave deeply through the archer’s armor. Immediately after though the archer spat out bitterly, “You think you've won? Let's see how you fair without your magic?” Then he shot an arrow which hit Sarah in her shoulder. Although the boys were surprised to hear no shriek of pain from the girl.
“Grrr, I am no weakling and I will get stronger!” She yelled. Instead of healing her wounds she ran forward and punched right into a burn wound on the Galam soldier who was raising his axe toward Slade. Sarah stood triumphantly as she felt good after that attack as if she had learned something.
“My, how brutal of you Sarah.” Kazin spoke as he snuck down field to light his own Blaze spell again the enemy mage for some payback.
Rayne smiled seeing some potential there. “Slade, finish off the archer. Boys, help me box this mage in!” He said, not attacking but cornering the spellcaster. Not appreciating how the blond boy and now the centaur held him in place the mage cast a mild Blaze against Bowie as well. But again, the flames were not enough to be threatening. Now charging right down the middle, Sarah ran between the two boys and punched again right through the mage's stab wound from earlier.
Once Slade had killed the archer Sarah went about using the last of her magic to heal Bowie, Chester and herself. Both Slade and Sarah felt their abilities improve again. “Hey boys, I think I just thought of a new way to heal more damage if you need it. Just like when Kazin realized how to increase his Blaze spell!”
“That's marvelous, Sarah!” Kazin praised.
“Heh, IF we need it being the operative word.” Jaha laughed.
“Hey!” Sarah snapped. “What is that supposed to mean?!”
Now Chester laughed. “Uh oh, look out everyone. I think Sarah is going to advance passed us all haha.” The others then joined in.
“What are you talking about!” She now screamed, feeling as if she were being teased.
“Sarah,” Bowie began, “not a single one of us have had any damage left after being healed by you. You're still healing by almost more health than we already have.”
“Oh.” Sarah blushed and stopped yelling as they all made their way into the treeline to hide.
Night had already fallen by the time they were nestled into the cover of the thick forest to give them a moment's reprieve from combat. Kazin ran his fingers through his hair as he contemplated their situation. “It will be good to rest but we won't be able to stay here long enough to fully recover. I still have spells left to help us along the way but if we don't reach Grandseal soon then I am going to quickly run out.”
Sarah sighed and while rubbing her knuckles on both hands. Her skin was red from punching which was not something she was used to doing against opponents in armor. “Heh, speaking of which, I am completely exhausted. I can't even heal these scrapes right now.” She then walked over to the side of the little clearing their were hiding in.
Kazin was quick to jump to his feet and shout, “You shouldn't wander far off on your own!” Quickly the entire group shushed the mage before he gave away their position.
“I don't intend to.” Sarah stated but her tone seemed a little short with Kazin. “Bowie, would you come with me for a moment?” Their leader nodded and walked with her a few paces out into the trees.
Kazin was left sulking as he watched the young priest wall away. “Heh, silly fool.” Slade spat. “Got a little crush there, do ya?”
Instantly Kazin's face went red with embarrassment as he scowled to the ratman. “I'd appreciate you not making accusations about me.” Then he walked into the center of their group and made a small fire to warm them but nothing that would signify their presence. Agree a few minutes passed he looked up to Sarah's other friends and asked, “But since it has been brought up... Is Bowie, or are any of you, actually ‘with’ Sarah?”
Jaha and Chester just looked to one another as if trying to decide how to answer that. Eventually Jaha just shook his head no and Chester replied by saying, “We are all just very close. We're childhood friends who grew up together. None of us are really romantically involved with each other… but there isn't anything that we wouldn't do for each other.” Jaha chuckled because Chester really wasn't lying. But he could tell that his buddy wasn't wanting to explain the whole truth. Meanwhile Slade was sitting nearby but he had his back to them all. He ignored their petty conversation while his sensitive rodent ears twitched giving him a grin.
Not far off from the group, Sarah squeezed her grip on Bowie's arms until her knuckles turned white. “Uuhh, fuck me harder!” She grunted quietly, trying not to make too much noise as the naked teenagers rocked their hips together. The priest was sitting on her bottom with her legs spread over Bowie's thighs. But her torso was raised to hold onto him as he thrust his penis into her vagina as fast as he could. “Yes, yes, yes, that's it, Bowie, oh, Bowie you're making me cum!” Sarah panted as she started to shake with ecstasy and eventually collapse onto her back. The blond boy reached down to stroke the blue pubic hair that he found so appealing on the girl he was now screwing. “Bowie wait,” Sarah called out quickly seeing him being biting his lip. “Don't cum in my pussy. Here, come over here.”
“Oohhh Sarah, this new aggressive attitude of yours is really amazing.” Bowie groaned in delight as he felt her warm mouth wrap around his hardened rod. She didn't seem to he put off at all by sucking her own juices off of his cock. In fact she held his hips and pushed her face forward to deepthroat his rod all the way down her throat. Then while breathing through her nose she held that depth and just swallowed on his meat continuously until Bowie had no choice but to grab her by the skull and has his sperm literally sucked out of his dick while he ejaculated down her throat. “Sarah… Sarah!” He eventually yelled, trying to get himself free on the vice grip her mouth had upon him. He collapsed and couldn't believe how wonderful that had felt.
Meanwhile, she grinned with proud feeling no shame at all in what she had just done. “Hehe. I can't really say I'm sorry because I really enjoyed that. I guess… my near death experience has opened me up to a few things. Chester might still be an issue but sucking yours or Jaha’s dick just won't be a problem anymore compared to what that spear put my throat through.” That statement made Bowie feel a little nervous but there hadn't been any remorse in her voice when she had said it. “In fact, would you be willing to go back to join the others and send Chester and Jaha back here to see me?”
“Sure.” Was all he could say to how excited she seemed to be. He just chuckled and started getting dressed while Sarah remained laying on the floor completely naked from head to toe.
It wasn't until Bowie started walking a way that Sarah finally spoke again. But this time she did have a bit of a somber tone. “Oh and… I don't want the other two to see me naked. Kazin and Slade don't deserve to have fun with me… ever. Okay?”
“If that's how you feel then I'll respect it.” Bowie said before walking away.
**Author's Ending Note** Okay so Yay! Sarah doesn't stay dead! Fallen friends can be revived! Sorry but I had to many a story related excuse for why protests can revive fallen comrades. Otherwise, why wouldn't every army just revive every soldier every time someone falls?
Yes, I know the Force left Galam rather quickly. I skipped over selling off items in the town because I didn't feel that it added anything to the story. The weapons in stock don't change, there is the boy who mentions the character Sheelah, and there is another boy who likes trees. But that's it.
