3 days later “The caterer is scheduled to arrive at eight, which gives them five hours to get everything ready. I need you at Mom’s place at nine thirty. There you can get ready, and if need be have your hair done, because I know how prissy you are about your hair. The flowers will arrive at nine. The cars arrive at eleven… Roxas are you even listening!?” Naminé called out to her brother. “Yes Nams” Roxas laughed from the other room, the sound of the shower running making it hard for Naminé to hear him properly. Naminé rolled her eyes as she began sorting through her wedding planner, when she heard a knock on the door. “Could you get that, Naminé?” Roxas called out to her. She brushed a piece of hair behind her ear and stood up. Brushing down her dress she answered the door. Upon opening it she was met by Axel. She titled her head in confusion. “Hi… Naminé, right?” He asked politely flashing a smile at her. She blushed and leant against the frame of the door. “Yes, are you a friend of Roxas’?” She replied quirking an eyebrow. “Yeah, I guess you could say that” He grinned. “I’m actually the guy who’s going to be singing at your wedding, thanks for asking for me by the way” He explained as he rubbed the back of his neck. “Oh no, thank you! Really, you’re a life saver!” She stepped aside so the man could enter. “So how do you know Roxas?” She asked as Axel walked past her, removing his gloves. “He’s uh… He’s sort of my boyfriend” He smiled to her. “Oh… how long have you?” she left the question hanging as she pointed between Axel and the direction of Roxas in the bathroom. “Three days, but we’ve known each other for a little over three months now” He nodded as he sat down on the couch. Naminé smiled and clasped her hands together in front of her chest. “I’m happy for you both” She spoke honestly as she rose herself ever so slightly on her tip toes. Suddenly Roxas emerged from the bathroom, with a towel draped over his head and dressed in only a pair of jogging bottoms. “Who was at the door, Nams?” he asked as he removed the towel, making sure to rub his head with it one last time. His eyes locked with Axel’s and he could feel a blush cover his cheeks. “Hey…” he spoke quietly with a smile on his face. “Hi” Axel smiled back, giving the blond a small wave. Naminé looked between the two and grinned. “Get a room you two” she blurted out, causing Roxas’ eyes to widen significantly. Axel simply laughed and shook his head. “I’m gonna go get dressed, I’ll be back in a sec. Naminé, behave” he chided, pointing a finger to his sibling. With one last wave to Axel he retreated in to his bedroom. “It’s so much fun teasing him, you should try it sometime. He doesn’t like to admit it but he definitely pouts, it’s so cute” she gushed as she sat down next to Axel. “I’ll have to give it try then” Axel laughed. His eyes caught sight of Naminé’s wedding folder. “Hey, are you excited about the big day?” “Mhmm” The blonde hummed in response as she tucked her hair behind her ears. “I’m a little nervous though, but that’s to be expected right? I mean everyone has a small touch of cold feet before the big day, don’t they?” She asked uncertainly. “Sure, I mean… I guess it’s normal to freak out a little about spending the rest of your life with one person, forever. But, you love this guy, right?” Axel asked the blonde next to him. She nodded in approval. “Then I’m sure everything will be fine” he grinned patting her shoulder lightly. “Thanks” Naminé smiled back to the man beside her. “Hey, since you and Roxas are somewhat of an item now, I’d love it if you came to the ceremony as a guest this weekend” “I’d like that” The redhead grinned. “What are you smiling at?” Roxas asked as he came back into the living room, zipping up the light blue jacket he’d decided to wear. “I asked Axel if he’d come to the ceremony instead of just the reception” Naminé spoke up, moving slightly across the couch to make room for Roxas. “Really? Awesome” Roxas smiled at her as he took his seat in between Axel and Naminé. Turning to look at his sister he slapped his hands onto his knees and spoke. “So, what’s on the agenda today then?” “I know I should have done this a lot sooner but other things have been on my mind. I’m taking you out to get fitted for your tux. You’re more than welcome to tag along, Axel” Naminé added. “Thanks, I think I will. I have to pick up something to wear for the big day myself, seeing as I’m now a guest” The man spoke with a smile. “Great!” Naminé exclaimed, bouncing up from the couch. “I’ll go get the car started, I’ll see you two downstairs in a sec” She waved goodbye, leaving the two men by themselves. Once Naminé left the room Roxas turned to Axel with a smile playing on his lips. “So, what do you think of Naminé?” he asked leaning forward slightly. “She’s cute” he answered back with a grin. Roxas rolled his eyes amusedly at the red heads answer. “But you’re cuter” he added, eliciting a scoff from the blue eyed man. Axel laughed lowly and brought Roxas’ head forward to place a kiss on his forehead. Standing up from his position on the couch Axel stretched his arms and legs, releasing a sigh. Roxas followed suit, pulling his jumper down and brushing off the fabric. “Shall we?” Roxas asked gesturing towards the door. “If we don’t make a move soon she’ll think we’re up to no good” He laughed. “Heh, yeah. Though that doesn’t sound too bad right about now” Axel purred pressing himself to the blonde. “H-hey… Not now ok?” The blond stammered. Axel laughed and walked to the front door. “You’re so easy to mess with” he grinned. “You’re a jerk” Was the blonds’ reply as he followed the redhead, shutting the door behind him. Axel’s POV I never did like shopping even at the best of times, especially when it came to shopping with girls. Don’t get me wrong Naminé is lovely and she’s funny as hell, but girls take way too long in one store. I mean guys go shopping with the intent of buying certain things, they get their shit and pay for it, end of trip. But girls dilly dally over everything, spend five times longer looking for what they want and then decide they can find something better at another place. It’s frustrating to say the least. So here I was following Naminé, who had linked her self to Roxas’ side, to every damn shop at the mall. Suddenly I heard the small blonde girl squeak with excitement, and before I knew it she had twittered off to a jewellery shop leaving Roxas stood there. He looked back to me with a confused expression. “Should we follow her” he asked me. I merely shrugged in response. Making my way to Roxas’ side I slinked my arm around his waist and began walking in the direction Naminé had disappeared. I released an exasperated sigh causing the blond beside me to chuckle. “I know how you feel…” he began, looking up to me. “Shopping with women annoys me too, but it makes her happy” he smiled. “If making her happy makes you happy, then I’m happy too” I grinned resting my head on the blonds’ for a brief moment. Just as we were about to enter the jewellery shop I saw Larxene enter a baby apparel store with a man walking beside her, their hands linked together. I only caught a glimpse of the guy, but I did notice something quite striking about him. And that was his hair; his unbelievably pink hair. I shrugged and carried on walking. Who she saw now was none of my business. -- After spending almost half an hour at the jewellery store and having Naminé try on, what seemed to be fifty tiaras, we were finally at the men’s section of the mall. The girl led us to the changing rooms section of the store, and told us both to sit down while she went and retrieved Roxas’ tux. I wasn’t complaining, at least now we were sitting. I rested my head on top of Roxas’ and groaned. “I sort of wish I’d stayed at home today” I muttered atop his spikes. “Oh, and what happened to, ‘if we’re happy, you’re happy’?” I could practically hear the smirk on his face. “Hey, my feet are killing me; my reason for complaining is completely justifiable” A few moments passed before Naminé came back, most of which were filled by me stroking random patterns along the back of Roxas’ hand. Shoving the clothes in front of Roxas, Naminé smiled. “Let me know if they fit, okay? If not, I can change them or… you can suck in that pot belly of yours” she winked, causing Roxas to place a hand to his stomach. I simply laughed. “Not cool” He glared at Naminé, and then turned his attention to me. “And what are you laughing at, fat ass?” I gawped at him as he stood up. Grinning to myself, I stuck my foot out as he began walking to the dressing room, causing him to trip up slightly. He quickly turned back to me with an indignant glare, but I paid him no mind and looked away innocently. He muttered something at me under his breath and forcefully shut the curtain behind him. “You’re right, he is fun to tease” I laughed to Naminé. After a few minutes of curse words from Roxas behind the curtain, he finally popped his head around the hanging fabric. His face looked a little sour, his cheeks sporting a nice pink glow as he pouted. “Uh Nam… it’s a little too big” “How big is too big?” she said standing up to move to the curtain. Roxas’ hands gripped tighter to the material. “I can’t make sufficient adjustments if you don’t let me see it” she chastised. Reluctantly Roxas came from behind the curtain fully revealing the issue. I couldn’t help but laugh at the sight. The sleeves had to be a good 2 inches too big for his arms and he had to hold the trousers up for fear that they would fall to the ground. I let out a small chuckle but instantly regretted it when Roxas sent a glare my way. Covering my mouth I looked away from him. “You’re right, it is too big” she spoke tapping her chin. “Just stay here and get changed I’ll go bring the next smallest size” immediately the petite girl was on her way to find the correct size. Roxas glanced at me with narrowed eyes. “Shut up” he murmured, taking refuge back behind the curtain. “What? I didn’t say anything!” I laughed as I slapped my knee. He reminded me of a five year old trying on their parents clothing, it was priceless. A moment later Roxas emerged once again in his own attire and sat down next to me. Folding the tuxedo carefully he set it beside him and huffed. “It’s not fair” he began, crossing his arms over his chest like a spoilt child. “You’ve got the legs and the arms and I’m just here all… all…” “Pocket sized?” I chimed in. Roxas looked at me again with his serious eyes. He tried to look angry but it just wasn’t working. “Hey… I’m sorry ok? It’s not your fault that you’re so tiny” I grinned at him but he was failing to see the funny side. “I’ll have you know I’m not all that small. You’re just freakishly tall” he prodded my side harshly then continued to pout. “…Roxas?” A voice called making both me and my little blond friend look up. “Oh my god, it is you! Hey Riku, it’s Roxas!” Roxas grinned and stood up, promptly going over to greet the guy. They both smiled brightly at each other before hugging one another tightly. “Oh my god, Sora! It’s been so long! How have you been?” Roxas asked as he pulled away from the spiky haired brunette. “I’ve been great, what about you?” he returned the question with a grin. “Aah you know, things have been ok, work’s a little slow… Riku it’s great to see you too. Liking the new shorter hair, it suits you man. Did Kairi convince you to do that?” Roxas patted the silver haired man’s arm. Intrigued by the new comers I stood and made my way to Roxas resting a hand on his shoulder almost protectively. “More family?” I asked amusedly, gesturing to the brunette who Roxas had addressed as Sora. “Yeah, how’d you…” “The eyes” I cut in with a small laugh. Roxas rolled his eyes at me and then looked back to the two men before us. “Axel this is Sora, my cousin and his friend, Riku. You guys this is Axel” he gestured to me with a bright smile. “Nice to meet you both” I greeted, extending my hand to both men. “So what brings you here?” Roxas asked crossing his arms casually across his chest. “Just finding something nice for Naminé’s big day, what about you?” Spoke Sora, holding up a few bags as proof. “The same actually. Naminé’s just gone to get my tux…” Roxas spoke but was cut off when he heard me sniggering. I was swiftly quietened by an elbow to the ribs. He smiled innocently at me before turning back to Sora. “No Kairi today?” he asked them. “She’s off prettying herself up with Selphie” Riku joined in, he seemed about as bored as I was a few minutes ago. Sora nodded in agreement. Suddenly the brunette haired man smiled widely looking behind me. Turning around we saw Naminé with the correct suit for Roxas. Setting the Tuxedo down on a chair she squealed and ran to Sora and Riku hugging them both. “Sora, Riku! I’m so glad you made it!” she giggled pecking both men on the cheek. “Well I couldn’t let me favourite little cousin get married and not be there to see it” he laughed hugging the girl tighter. “Where are you guys staying anyways?” Roxas piped in. “Selphie is letting us stay for the weekend” Sora answered, Roxas simply ‘aah’d’ in response. After a few more minutes of catching up and Sora telling me some embarrassing tales of Roxas from when they were younger, the two men said their goodbyes and were on their way. Naminé turned to Roxas and gently shoved the new clothes into the blonds’ arms. “Second time lucky” she smiled. Roxas reluctantly took the outfit from her and then looked at us both. “I swear to god, if this is too small as well, I’m going to jump off a bridge” “I hope it fits him…” Naminé spoke quietly once Roxas disappeared. She looked a bit worried. “If it doesn’t, I’m afraid we might have to get it in a woman’s size” She squeaked. I covered my mouth immediately to stop the laughter from bursting out. My eyebrows knitted together as I forced myself to keep quiet. A few minutes later, Roxas finally reappeared from the changing room. The outfit fit him much better this time. And it was fitted in all the right places. I let my eyes travel up and down his body in awe. He looked amazing in a suit. He adjusted his cufflinks slightly before he finally placed his arms to his sides satisfied with the outfit. “How do I look?” He asked glancing at us both. Naminé clasped her hands over her mouth in adoration. I could swear I saw her tearing up a little. Meanwhile I gaped like a fish, not quite knowing how to describe how incredible he looked. “Don’t all speak at once” he muttered, face heating up faintly. “Y-you look… wow…” I stammered. Naminé stood up and walked over to him. Reaching out she held her brother’s hands and smiled fondly. “You look perfect” she spoke quietly. Roxas smiled lopsidedly and rolled his eyes. “Thanks…” he turned around and glanced himself over in the mirror. “I think I might just upstage you…” He laughed. Naminé lightly hit his arm and shooed him back into the changing room. “Yeah, yeah… now get changed out of these. I don’t want you to ruin them” -- Finally once Naminé and Roxas were satisfied with Roxas’ suit, we began looking around for something for myself. Thankfully I wasn’t too picky when it came to clothing. So I settled for a simple black and grey waist coat, a white fitted shirt and black dress pants. Not too smart but also not too casual. Roxas on the other hand found he couldn’t keep his eyes off of me once I’d tried them on. It was rather amusing. Naminé drove us back home and the two siblings said their goodbyes. Roxas and I walked to his apartment relatively silent. I didn’t know if he had something on his mind or if he was still mad at me for making fun of how short he was earlier. I was going with the latter. Once we finally arrived at his apartment he put his bags in his bedroom and then came back into the living area. Flopping himself down on the couch face first he sighed. I set my bags next to the door for when I was ready to leave, and then sat myself down on the chair at the opposite side of the living room. Roxas turned his head and looked at me curiously. “I’ve been thinking…” he stopped himself, seeming to think a bit more about what he was going to say. “Don’t hurt yourself” I chuckled, resting my elbow on the arm of the chair and placing my chin atop my hand. Roxas gave me a ‘oh shut up’ look and carried on speaking. “You know… your outfit for Naminé’s wedding would look a lot better if you wore a fedora too. With your hair tied back…” He trailed off almost dreamily. “That’s what you’ve been thinking about?” I asked sceptically. “Is that why you’ve been quiet all the way home?” “It’s not my fault… you looked all… I don’t know… amazing in your outfit and it’s all I can think about!” he shoved his face in the cushion below him. “Stupid sexy Axel” he mumbled into the fabric. I laughed and stood up, making way to Roxas. Shoving his legs away, I sat next to him and I tugged on his shirt so he’d look at me. Sitting up he crossed his legs and held the cushion he’d been previously lying on, to his stomach. I pulled him close to me and brushed his hair back, lightly a pressed a kiss to his temple and let his hair fall back into place. “I actually have a fedora, don’t ask why, Larxene just bought me one a few years back. I’ve never worn it because I never thought I suited hats, but if you think it would go well with my outfit I’ll wear it” I grinned at him. His eyes lit up as he smiled back at me. Quickly he leaned up and kissed my cheek. “Awesome” he whispered before pressing another kiss to the already tingling skin on my cheek. Suddenly he stood up and grabbed his phone, quickly punching in the digits. “What are you doing?” I asked curiously. “Ordering pizza. I feel like pigging out while watching some movies, you in?” he asked holding the phone against his ear. “For pizza… always” I grinned and I swung my legs round on to the couch, resting my back against the arm rest. -- 4 hours later and we were on our second movie. I wasn’t really paying attention to what it was about; some guy in a phone booth? I don’t know. I was too busy stroking patterns along Roxas’ arm and running my fingers through his hair to notice the TV. We were both lay on the couch; Roxas resting his head on my chest, with a bowl of popcorn perched on my stomach so Roxas could easily reach it. Suddenly he jumped when a gunshot was fired in the film. Holding a hand to his chest he looked up at me sheepishly. “I didn’t expect that, I don’t usually get scared so easily at films like this…” He assured, reaching into the bowl grabbing a handful of popcorn. I raised an eyebrow at him as if to say ‘yeah right’. Resting his head against my chest again he went back to watching the film, happily stuffing his face with the sugary treat. I laughed lowly and shook my head. Glancing back up at me he spoke. “What?” “Oh nothing, just Naminé was telling you earlier about the little belly you’re sporting, and I thought it was funny that you continue to eat crap like that” I grinned and poked his stomach for effect, to which he responding by puffing out his cheeks and giving me a half-hearted glare. “Am I really getting fat?” he asked me almost worried. I shook my head amusedly. “No, you look fine” I assured him, stroking my hand up his arm. “Maybe I should go back to the mall and see if they sell men’s girdles” He joked, popping another piece of popcorn into his mouth with a grin. “Well I’m staying here if you do. I don’t want to go to the mall again for at least another year, if I can manage it” I laughed. “Aww come on, was it really that bad shopping with me and Nams today?” “I guess not, but I don’t really want to bump into Larxene anytime soon…” “When did you see her?” Roxas asked sitting up a bit to look at me better. “Well I only saw her, that’s the thing. I didn’t speak to her or anything; I mean she was on the opposite side of the mall with some guy…” I explained as I robbed a piece of popcorn from the blond. “He looked weird” Roxas sighed and placed his hand onto my chest, running it slowly to my neck and back down. “I know you’re both somewhat on good terms now, but you’ve both moved on… you have moved on right?” he asked to which I nodded with a smile. “Then forget about it, the guy’s probably a creep anyways” He grinned, leaning up to press a kiss to my jaw. He settled down and looked back to the TV. “You know…” I began as my finger teased at the hem of Roxas’ shirt. “When you said ‘watch movies’, I thought you meant make out… or something to that effect” I slipped my hand under his shirt slightly and brushed my fingers against the soft skin just above his waistband, his muscles twitching beneath my touch. “I didn’t think you actually wanted to watch the films” He chuckled quietly and brushed my hand away. “I, unlike some people, actually like watching the film. The cuddles are just a bonus… if you don’t want to watch this then you know where the door is…” he teased looking up at me from his position on my chest. I released a sigh. “No, no, I’m fine here. I’m down with cuddles” I smiled holding him closer to my chest. “Good. Now shut up, I’m missing the movie” -- Roxas’ POV The next morning I woke up with the worst ache in my neck. Slowly I sat up and realised both Axel and I had fallen asleep on the couch. Suddenly I heard the loudest snore come from Axel. I clasped my hands over my mouth to stop myself from laughing. With a lazy grin I shifted myself further up Axel’s body. For a second I looked at him, he looked so peaceful, but he had to ruin the moment as another snore tore it’s self from his mouth. I rolled my eyes at him. Slowly I extended my arm to reach his face and I gently held his nose. I bit down on my bottom lip to stop a laugh escaping. A few seconds later Axel snorted and abruptly woke up. In his dazed state he thrashed around a little, resulting in him falling from the couch. I couldn’t help but let out a loud laugh, I held my stomach as I fell onto my back still laughing at the redhead. He sat up groggily and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. “…The fuck was that for?” He grumbled, squinting up at me from his position on the floor. I wiped a tear from my eye and held out my hand for him to grab on to. “I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist it. Your snoring is really loud” I chuckled as I pulled him back on to the couch. “Be glad I like you, otherwise I would have kicked your ass by now” He side glanced at me before he yawned, scratching his head. “I said I was sorry…” I mumbled, draping my arms around his neck, leaning in to steal a kiss from him. He moaned into the kiss, eagerly pressing back with a little more pressure. Pulling away from his lips I moved my attention to his neck, gently nipping at the junction between his neck and shoulder. “W-what time is it?” He stuttered as I moved my mouth to his jaw. “M’dunno…” I replied in between kisses. “Why…?” “I told Demyx that I’d meet him later… for c-coffee” He practically groaned out as my lips brushed ever so slightly over his Adam’s apple. “Roxas you’re killing me here…” he muttered pushing on my shoulders lightly. I puffed my cheeks out in slight annoyance but brushed it off quickly. Leaning over to the coffee table I grabbed my cell and looked at the time. “Shit!” Without any explanation I jumped from the couch and ran to my room. Quickly I discarded myself of my clothes from the previous day and changed into fresh ones. I hurriedly brushed my teeth and raked a brush through my unruly spikes. Rushing back into the living room I grabbed my coat and looked for my keys, which seemed to want to evade me today. “What’s wrong” Axel asked, standing from the couch. “I’m an hour late for work and I can’t find my damn keys anywhere…” I looked to the kitchen counter and noticed them perched upon it. “Aha!” Grabbing them I headed for the door. “Wait, wait… I’ll walk with you” Axel announced putting on his shoes and grabbing his coat as well. “You don’t have to…” I assured him, looking at my phone again to check the current time. “You’re already an hour late a few more minutes won’t hurt, surely” he laughed. I sighed in defeat. He was right, besides if the shop had been overly busy Zexion would have called to check where I was. -- Thankfully the walk to work wasn’t all that bad. The snow had finally stopped leaving only dirty sludge behind; I think I preferred it when the snow was around, it didn’t look half as depressing as it did now it was gone. When Axel and I had entered the shop we were met by a scene I never thought I’d see. Zexion was smiling. But not only that, he had his arms around a certain mullet haired man. Quirking an eyebrow I looked to Axel and grinned. “No wonder he didn’t call me to bite my head off, he was too busy making googly eyes at Demyx” I laughed. Zexion noticed the two of us a pulled away from the sandy blond man reverting back to his normal stoic exterior. “You’re late” he pointed out. I winced at his tone with me, but before I could respond Demyx piped in. “Aww come on Zexy, it’s not like you were complaining not just 5 minutes ago. You said you were glad of the peace and quiet…” Demyx smirked at him wiggling his eyebrows. “Demyx, you’re making it hard for me to come across as mister big hard boss man…” Zexion moaned eyeing the blond through his bangs. “That’s pretty hard for you to achieve anyway… I mean you’re not much taller than little Roxy here…” “Hey!” I chimed in. “I take offence in that ‘little’ you added in. I can’t say I appreciate it” I huffed. “You are pretty small Roxas” Axel added. I glared up at him. “You be quiet” I whispered harshly to him. The redhead laughed and messed up my hair. None too happy with him I swatted his hand away. “What? I like you being shorter than me…” he told me sweetly. “You make a great leaning post” He added on with a laugh. Growling in frustration I made my way to the back of the shop to hang up my things. Once I’d put everything away I came back out to the front. Axel walked over to me and placed his hands on my lower back pulling me close to him but I refused to look at him. “I’m sorry, okay? You know I don’t mean it, it’s just fun to tease you” “Well I can’t say I like it all too much” I mumbled still not making eye contact with the redhead. His fingers grasped my chin so I would look at him. Smiling he leant down and kissed my temple. “Forgive me?” he asked quietly, his mouth still hovering close to my face. I rolled my eyes, finally looking at the green eyed man. “Fine. But I’m putting a limit on the small jokes to a minimum of once a month” I grumbled. “Deal” he breathed out before capturing my lips with his own in a chaste kiss. “I’ll be by yours later to pick up my things” and with one last kiss he left the bookshop with a grinning Demyx in tow. -- Axel’s POV “So?” Demyx asked as we took our seats in the café. “‘So?’ What?” I replied, taking my coat off and placing it beside myself. “You and little Roxy, how long have you been… yanno?” he grinned, placing his elbows on the table in front of us and propping his chin upon his hands. I could feel my face heating up ever so slightly at his question. “About 3 days…” I answered sticking my face into the menu as a means of ignoring him. “I knew you liked him. From the first time I met him and saw how you both interacted, I knew there was something more” He pulled down the menu from my face and smiled. “I’m glad you’re happy. No offense to Larxene but you seemed miserable with her” “I am happy” I mused. And I really was. I was happy at how comfortable I could be around Roxas, how at ease he made me feel. I was happy going at his pace, which in actual fact is the perfect pace to be taking this new… relationship I guess you could call it. Sure I liked Roxas, and one day I hoped that would become more for the both of us. But for now I’m happy to let it play out and see where this takes us both. -- After catching up with Demyx over coffee for the good part of an hour we decided it was time to leave. Gathering my things, I stood up first. Just as I was about to make my way over to the exit I noticed the man who I’d seen Larxene with the day before. I watched him cautiously as he made his way to the coffee bar where he sat on one of the stools. “Axel?” I heard Demyx behind me. “What’s wrong?” I turned around to face the sandy blond. “You see that guy there?” I whispered pointing discretely to the pink haired man. Demyx looked over my shoulder to see, and then nodded in affirmation. “Well he’s the guy who’s with Larx now” Demyx eyes widened slightly before he went and took another glance at the man. “…Really? He looks a bit… I don’t know… fruity don’tcha think? I mean with the pink hair and all…” he admitted. “Keep your voice down!” I whispered harshly. “Come on” I tugged on his coat indicating it was time to leave. Once out of the café I heaved a sigh of relief, the mist from breath billowing around me as a result of the cold weather. Demyx kept looking at the man through window of the café, placing a hand on his hip as he inspected him from afar. “So that guy in there could be the dad to Larxene’s sprog?” I punched Demyx’s arm and glared at him. “Don’t call it that, okay? That kid has done nothing wrong, so you don’t need to insult it before it’s even born. Besides… there’s still a small chance it could be mine, and I’ll be damned if you call my offspring a ‘sprog’” “Ow! Okay, I’m sorry! There was no need for such violence” he rubbed his arm feverishly. “Anyway…” I began, shoving my hands into my coat’s pockets. “I should head home. I think my apartment misses me, I’ve spent most of my time at Roxas’ place lately” “You should move in together…” Demyx suggested offhandedly. I gave him a doubtful look and shook my head. “And look at what happened the last time I moved in with someone as soon as we got together. We’re working at this properly. We’re not rushing into things…” I explained with a shrug. “Aah, good thinking. It’s probably for the best. Anyways I’ll let you get going, Zexion’s shift should be finished soon; so I’m going to go and meet him from work, laters” He waved and began walking in the opposite direction. Oh well time to go home and do what I do best… nothing. -- Roxas’ POV It was times like this that I began rethinking my career choices. This place was so boring. I mean, yes it’s good for literary purposes but other than that it was always dead. And no one wants to come out of their home in a winter as harsh as this to by a book. I blew at the coffee I was holding as I leant back into the arm chair I’d currently resided in. I looked over to Zexion who seemed to be enthralled by the book he was reading. My thoughts travelled back to earlier on. I had no idea that Zexion and Demyx had a thing going with each other. They seem to be complete polar opposites, and I highly doubt Demyx has ever read a single book in his entire life. Maybe Zexion found him endearing. Maybe he was good in bed… No actually I didn’t want to think about that. I shook my head of the current thought. Suddenly Zexion’s voice broke the silence. “You’re thinking too loudly…” He commented, his eyes never once leaving the page he was currently reading. “How can someone think too loudly?” I asked raising an eyebrow. “Ask yourself, you were the one doing it” Now I know why Zexion and Demyx got along so well. Demyx was obviously not much of a thinker. I chuckled to myself at my reasoning. “Something funny?” he asked finally looking at me. “No, no…” I urged before I took a sip of my coffee. He eyed me sceptically before he went back to reading his book. Suddenly the bell above the shop’s door rang abruptly as Demyx ran through it. “Zexy! You ready to go?” he asked, placing his hands on the counter top, bouncing happily. “Yeah, sure” he answered placing the book back on its original shelf. He then looked over to me. “If the shop is still dead in an hour just lock up and go home, don’t worry, I’ll still pay you” “Okay, thanks” I smiled at him, secretly hoping that I wouldn’t get an influx of customers anytime soon. -- Thankfully the gods, if there was any, heard my prayers and I didn’t get a single customer. After shutting up shop I took the short and cold walk home. Just as I was about to enter my apartment my phone started ringing. Looking at the caller ID I noticed it was Naminé. “Hello” I answered as I fished for my keys from my pocket. “R-Roxas…” I heard her sniffle over the phone. I immediately stopped looking for my keys when I heard her tone. “Naminé, what’s wrong?” I furrowed my eyebrows in concern. “Marluxia hasn’t come home. He went out yesterday afternoon and hasn’t come back since. And he isn’t answering his phone” She spoke shakily. I tried to think of something, anything, comforting to say to her; but I couldn’t think of anything. I was never one for consoling people when they were upset and I certainly wasn’t one for giving advice. “I don’t know what to do” She said finally. “Give me an hour or so and I’ll come to you” I explained as I began looking for my keys once more. “I’ll see you soon Nams just keep calm, we figure this out” After saying our goodbyes I hung up and finally made my way into my apartment. As I entered my foot accidently kicked the bag containing Axel’s clothes for the wedding. Leaning down I placed the bag upright once more. ‘I should let Axel know ‘I’ll be leaving soon so he can collect his stuff…’ I walked into the bathroom and began running the shower. I started stripping myself of my clothing and sat on the edge of the tub, placing my hand under the stream of water, waiting for it to heat up. ‘When Marluxia turns up I’ve got a good mind to kick his ass for making Naminé worry’ I thought to myself as I got in the shower. I just hope for his sake he had a good reason for leaving so suddenly. -- Axel’s POV “Come on, come on, come oooooon…” I shouted at the TV screen as my car was about to cross the finishing line. “Come on. One corner left, we can clear it… shit!” I yelled, my car had swerved, causing it to crash into a wall and get completely totalled. I threw the controller to the floor in a huff and shut the TV off. ‘The game was shit anyways’ I reasoned with myself, making sure to glare at the controller that lay on the floor. Suddenly my phone vibrated in my pocket, surprising me slightly. Retrieving the device from my jeans I noticed it was a text from Roxas. ‘Can’t hang out tonight, something came up. I don’t know how long I’ll be gone, so you might want to come get your things now. If not, I’ll see you when I see you.’ I raised an eyebrow at his text. What could have come up that needed him gone for so long. Heaving myself up from the couch I grabbed my keys from the hook by the door and left for Roxas place. A few minutes later I was standing outside of the blonds’ apartment waiting for him to answer the door. Roxas opened the door in a rush and went back into his bedroom. “Sorry about this but I need to go to Nam’s” he called from the other room. “S’fine…” I called back as I picked up the bag containing my new clothes. “Do you mind me asking why?” I added as I scratched my chin, it was then that I noticed the overnight bag on his couch. “Marluxia has gone AWOL, and Naminé has no idea where he might be. He went out yesterday and never came back” He pulled on his coat as he left his bedroom, shutting the door behind him. “You think he’s ok?” I asked him worriedly. “I’ve no doubt he’s ok. It’s not the first time he’s done this” He scowled. “Do you want me to come with? I can help you look for him if it comes to it” I offered. He looked thoughtful for a second and then took out his phone and began dialling. After a few seconds he began speaking to the person on the other end. “Hello Naminé? I’m going to be on my way in a few… no it’s fine, I don’t mind. Listen; is it ok if Axel comes too? He said he’d help look for Marly with me… yeah… yeah… ok. I’ll see you soon Naminé. Everything will be okay. Okay… yeah… love you too, bye” Roxas looked to me and smiled. “She says it’s ok if you come, she’s got two spare rooms so you can take your pick. You might want to get a change of clothes too; I don’t know how long we’ll be there” I nodded and stepped back into the hall ready to go back home. “Okay I’ll go and grab a few things then I’ll meet you down in the parking lot” -- Once we’d arrived at Naminé’s Roxas spent the next hour or so with the female clinging to his side as he petted her hair at a loss of what else to do. Not knowing how I could help I made us all a cup of tea, hoping it would help calm her nerves some. It seemed to help as she had finally detached herself from Roxas. “Do you know any clubs or anywhere he might be? Maybe he has friends he stays with?” I asked her. She took a sip of her tea then placed it on the end table. “I’m not sure of the clubs he visits. He’s kind of secretive in the places he goes” she sighed and rubbed her forehead with both hands. “Although…” she looked up, glancing between Roxas and I. “I have overheard him sometimes on the phone. Something called Org thirteen. I don’t know what it is exactly but he’s mentioned it quite a few times recently” “I know where it is” I stated. Standing, I walked over to the kitchen and placed my empty cup in the sink. “Really? Well… should we get going?” Roxas asked ready to stand up. I nodded back to him. “It’s going to take about an hour to drive there from here. It’s pretty far” “Oh, okay. Naminé are you going to be alright here on your own?” Roxas asked placing a hand tentatively on her shoulder. “Yeah. Just… just bring him home” she gave him a wobbly smile as some of the tension seemed to ease from her shoulders. If she knew what I knew about Org thirteen then I doubt she’d be so relieved.
