The little Deku boy yelped when another Deku Scrub launched herself at him and then took off her face! Getting up, his little mouth seemed to widen(if that is even possible for a Deku Scrub) and he suddenly started jumping around like crazy along with Ester. the only difference was he was shouting "I knew it existed! the legends are true! I just knew my old man wasn't crazy!" the young Deku Boy turned to Ester. "If you need any help getting into the Deku Palace, come talk to me. I know a couple secret entrances that go right into the palace." he paused. "Did your shadow just move???"
Before Chance could say anything to blow his cover, the other five boys ran over to their small wooden friend and James said "Well if I hadn't seen it I wouldn't believe it. Dad used to tell me Link could do that too..." he paused, taking out a small notebook and handed it to Ester. "Here. It's a bomber's notebook. you can keep track of your good deeds in it, and help people out. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a bubble to hit with a blowgun." And just like that, all the boys were gone but the Deku Scrub, who stayed behind.
"C-Could you do the thing with the mask again? Please?" He asked. "I can get you into the Deku Palace, but they'll kick you right back out if you don't look like us."

Ester smirked at the Deku Boy's surprised look when she took off the mask. Of course, seeing someone take off their own face and turn into a completely different being WOULD be rather terrifying. However, what he said made her stop jumping and cock her head. "Legends?" She gave a nod when given the choice of hearing about some secret passages into the Deku Palace. From what she knew from her father's tales, the Dekus were FAR from willing to have intruders inside their home.
Before she could react to or even lead the kid on another trail about Chance, the other kids came back. When given it, Ester flipped through it curiously, finding a bunch of pages with different sketches of people's faces on one side of a grid. "Huh," she muttered, watching the normal kids run off to pop a bubble.
Hearing the small, meek voice of the Deku Shrub, she smiled. "Sure" Bracing herself again, she put it on her face. It was weird; every time she put it on, it would hurt less. Or at least seem to hurt less. Who knew? Back in Deku Shrub form, Ester smiled as well as a little plant with a mouth could smile. "Alright Kid, so how am I supposed to get into the palace? Some sort of secret passage guarded by a Deku needing a particular password? Or do I need to just climb the walls of the place?"

"Follow me!" The Deku Boy squeaked as he ran off toward the south of town. When they got to a place between two buildings, he turned to her, and said "It's right here. just go between these two houses and there is a small opening on your left. It leads straight into the front part of the Deku Palace." He said.
"Thanks, kid!" Chance blurted out as Ester followed his directions, causing the Deku Boy to jump in surprise as they left.
As the two ran along the path to the Deku Palace, Chance popped out of her shadow since it was now dark outside once more. "Well! aren't you forgetting something? That Kafei fellow has to be wondering where we-HOLY SHIT!!" He screamed as a giant spider with a skull on it's back tried to eat Ester whole.
"Let her go you eight legged FREAK!" Chance screamed as she struggled in it's stomach, he shot dark forbidden magic, much more than necessary in fact, at the creature and as it exploded without thinking he floated over to a gunk covered Deku Ester...
and hugged her.
"Are you ok? You're not hurt are you? Nothing's broken? I mean... ummm... cause I need my memory." he said, blushing a bit and letting go of Deku Ester, he was speechless for a moment because of his mistake. when he found his voice again, he was more quiet than usual "So, ummm... shouldn't we get the Deku Palace gift from your dad first before we break in there?" he asked as his blush lessened, but didn't fade entirely.

Ester gave a nod to the Deku boy, waving goodbye as he left. She looked up at the sky, in awe of how bright the stars were outside of the village. She had nearly forgot about Kafei, but both of their thoughts were interrupted at something taking hold of Ester with two spiny legs. In an instant she froze, feeling her legs dangle as her large head entered the Skulltula's mouth. It took a second for the shock of it to wear off, but once it did, it was too late. The Deku in disguise was already headed down its throat, squirming against the walls, desperate for escape. She could hear Chance freaking out outside, but she hardly took notice until the creature was torn apart by a shadowy blast.
She landed hard in a pile of goo, blinking in surprise, which turned into greater amazement when she was suddenly hugged. Chance was... showing feelings? That was weird... Ester stood up, wiping off as much gunk as she could before turning back into human form. "Yeah I'm fine... just.... I don't want to be eaten ever again..." she said in a bit of a daze, glancing at the bits and pieces of the defeated beast. At least she got out of that alive. She exhaled, rubbing her face with a semiclean hand. "Yeah, we better get back to town. I'm staying in this form, I don't want THAT to happen again."
Soon they were at Kafei's home. Ester knocked on the door, "Hello? Kafei?"
