Vampire's Kiss
This story was made for fun and definitely NOT for making profit or money out of it. Trust me, ya boi Mina only sees writing as a hobby and their passion. More important, I do NOT own King of Fighters.

Upon arriving at the city, the blue-haired huntress is greeted by the dusky evening, and the only light source in this place is singly working street lamps that lighten up the dark pavement.
However, the only life forms she has encountered in the empty streets are a group of cheerfully singing drunkards who bring no harm as long as you are not in their way.
Walking past them, she ignores their presence and lowers the hood of her gray cloak.
Something is wrong. It’s too peaceful for a city terrorized by a mysterious and bloodthirsty murderer.
After wandering for a while, Leona raises her head and widens her eyes upon noticing one person in one of the upper floor windows.
Apparently, it’s a beautiful young man with snow-white fluffy hair and pale skin gazing at the scenery of the silent city.
When he places his hands on the windowsill and leans forward, it reveals that he wears an open, cross-stitched black leather vest and matching color gauntlets.
Upon climbing outside, it is now visible that he also wears body-stocking, black leather pants with wide cuts on the sides down the knees and held together with a similar stitching style.
Is he planning to end his life? But then why does he look so happy? The blue-haired huntress wonders, observing him in awe.
Now, the fluffy silver-haired male jumps through the window, but before the harsh collision, he spreads the jet-black bat-like wings.
Thus, with the heavy wing clapping, he ascends above the tall building.
However, Leona’s presence didn’t remain unnoticed by the mysterious creature, and his playful smirk alerts her.
“Wait!” The blue-haired huntress extends her arm towards the demon, disappearing into the night sky.
Even if she understands it’s a useless effort, she chases after him as long as her strength allows and until running out of breath.
For now, she realizes it might be wiser to find a place to overnight because it might take a few days to hunt that demon down.
Some time passes by. After Leona finds a local inn, she calls it a day.
It is the morning of the new day. When the first sunbeams shine through the blinds gaps, Leona just frowns and tighter shuts her eyes.
It’s so annoying and too bright... Leona thinks as she rolls to the other side and slowly opens her eyes.
For now, she lazily stares at her resting two blades on the night table.
She was never really fond of daylight as long as she can remember and preferred going outside after sunset. That’s why even on the hottest summer days or dark nights, she would wear her cloak.
But for now, she sits and stretches in bed. After all, it’s not good to stay in bed all day and do nothing.
Besides, she is on a mission. More importantly, after that demon showed up and mocked her, now she feels like it is a challenge that she cannot withdraw.
A good hour has passed, and the huntress fixes her gloves before leaving her room.
But first, she decides to gather information in the inn and local bar.
Half a day has passed by. Aside from the rumors that yesterday, the daughter of one famous doctor was killed, there wasn’t much interesting about it.
After all, that person greets the same fate as the previous victims of the mysterious murderer.
Even if the young huntress realizes it might be the silver-haired young man, he doesn’t seem to have a specific pattern of attacking and the taste for his prey aside from their age.
And that only makes her hunt more difficult.
Where to begin? Who might be next? – These and other questions give Leona a headache.
But for now, she decides to visit the nearest church to restock the holy water and bless her blades before staining them with the demon’s blood. From what she has heard, it should be in the north, outside the city.
After an hour, the sun is already setting, and the sky is painted in a beautiful orange color.
Finally, the huntress reaches her destination, which is surrounded by trees.
Once Leona opens the door of the sacred place, she notices a young priest praying to the statue of the holy maiden.
The brunette looks so calm and concentrated, but his prayer is stopped upon hearing the opened door and approaching footsteps.
As he looks toward the huntress, he politely asks. “Good evening. How can I help you at this hour?”
After getting close to the priest, Leona picks up her knives and shows them to him. “I’m interested in this. Can you enhance them by your blessings?”
However, it momentarily confuses Shingo.
After nervously chuckling, he rests his hand behind his neck and rubs it. “Well...”
It seems his response doesn’t affect the blue-haired huntress and asks in a slightly more demanding tone while keeping her poker face. “Your effort won’t remain unrewarded. How much do you want? Just name it.”
After Leona patiently waiting for the answer, the priest explains with uncertainty. “Erm… Please don’t get me wrong. I can give it a try, but I never done it before. Therefore, your weapons may get damaged if I do anything wrong. However, tomorrow, one person should return and he should help you.”
Yet this reply doesn’t satisfy her, and she fixes her cloak. “I see… In that case, I’ll wait here until tomorrow.”
Oh dear... Sometimes, you don’t know what our Lord has prepared for us. So, you have to accept whatever comes, right? Besides, it would be cruel to refuse the wanderer who seeks help. Yabuki convinces himself.
Fortunately for him, the voice behind them rescues him from the persistent huntress. “Is everything alright, Shingo?”
Apparently, the silver-haired young man with a black turtleneck long-sleeved shirt and pair of jeans leans against the opened frame of the church door and is surrounded by the orange light of the sunset.
While Orochi holds one arm, he asks in a mildly concerned tone. “Who is this person and what she wants?”
Once Leona notices him, she becomes alerted by this male, and her suspicious intuition tells her that something is wrong with him, and she doesn’t like it at all.
The blue-haired lady’s reaction makes him curious, and he looks towards his partner. “Do you know each other?”
The fluffy silver-haired male smiles and shakes his head. “No. I think she might mistake me for someone else. I never met her before.”
For some reason, Leona cannot trust him, but she becomes curious about this fellow.
Hence, now she has another reason to rest in this church.
Meanwhile, the priest briefly explains the situation. “Well, it seems this young lady wants to enhance her weapons, but the person who knows how to do it only will arrive tomorrow. And now she wants to stay here for tonight, but…”
Shingo lowering his guilty eyes, makes Orochi ignore her presence and gently places his hand on his shoulder. “It’s okay. You don’t need to shelter anyone whom you meet. You have a big heart and people will always use your kindness. So, don’t be afraid of saying no because you are not responsible for anyone whom you see.”
Without the brunette noticing it, he mockingly glares and smiles at the huntress.
Is this guy trying to drive me away or purposely annoy me? The huntress wonders while trying to remain calm and not to give in to provocation, no matter how Orochi taunts her.
Right now, she should prioritize her current task of hunting the demon down and it being her only concern. Or so Leona convinces herself.
So, she doesn’t give up and ignores the arrogant fellow. “I don’t ask for any luxury, so I’m fine, even sleeping on the bench. The church is always open to anyone, isn’t it, sir? And as soon as your mentioned person shows up, I’ll take my leave.”
The brunette looks concerned, as if asking for Orochi’s help, but the young man removes his hand from his shoulder.
When he faces Shingo, he takes his hand into his and reassures him. “It’s up to you what to do. I’m sure that god won’t judge you on whatever you have decided.”
That’s more than enough to give him confidence.
Finally, he announces his decision. “I’m sorry that I cannot offer you a better option. However, please let me know if you need anything.”
This answer satisfies the huntress, and she nods. “Very well, sir. I won’t cause you any problems. So, rest assured about that.”
Meanwhile, the fluffy silver-haired male holds his arms and narrows his gaze. That’s too bad. I still need more time, but it cannot be helped then. I’m sorry, but before my departure, I’ll need your strength, Shingo.
Later on, when both men leave the church, Leona follows Orochi.
He has a strong dark energy, even if that priest doesn’t realize it might be the same demon whom she hunts. Although, it’s wiser to check if her senses are false. The poor boy is naïve and has no idea who this questionable type is. Or so Leona thinks to herself.
