Running aimlessly through the dark forest, Shin wondered what to do about her. Simply ignoring her was tempting, but not practical. Handing her to another dark elf was practically a death sentence for her. Nathavin was the only one of his kind that he trusted, but even Nathavin had his limits.
Leaving her in a human settlement was another option. They would treat her reasonably. Giran perhaps? Or maybe Aden? Each had a large human population. However, the more he thought of it, the more he hated it. Humans were greedy. She was likely going to be one of the very last light elves in existence soon. Far too many humans with less than honorable intentions would be after her.
Reaching the edge of the swamp, he halted his run and gazed at the dismal surroundings. Barely winded, he eyed one of the hideous creatures that called the swamp home. Flicking his wrist, his dagger tumbled swiftly through the air briefly before piercing the creature's heart. Shin retrieved the dagger and started walking back to the village. Rain began falling heavily, soaking his armor.
He snorted to himself. She’d wanted better clothes, something ‘decent’. His thoughts turned to Aleyel and her penchant for mischief, and her fascination with all things leather. His agreement with Nathavin concerning Starr was that he could treat her however he wished in private.
She wanted decent clothing. ‘Decent’ was a very broad term, open to interpretation. His steps became quicker. “Oh min Lua, you’re not going to like this little game…” Punishment didn’t have to be violent beatings. It could be something as simple as giving her a choice between clothing she didn’t fancy, or none at all. She could dress in clothing of Aleyel’s choice, both publicly and privately, or none-what-so-ever.
And, starting tonight, he was done sleeping in the barracks.
Once back in the caverns, he located Aleyel and informed her of his plans. While she set off to give Starr her first new item of clothing, he set off to collect his belongings from the barracks.

Starr’s head snapped towards the door of the large suite of chambers she’d been afforded. “About time you returned with more appropriate clothing…” She began with a light growl, only to fall silent as Aleyel entered the room, followed closely by several dwarves pushing covered garment racks. As soon as they had pushed the racks into the center of the large living space, they turned and left, silent as ghosts. Only one of them cast their gaze at her, a weathered face, nearly completely obscured by a large and scruffy beard. His lips, barely visible, had been lifted in an expression that bordered on lascivious, and then he was out of sight.
Aleyel swiftly pulled the simple cloth covering off of the nearest rack with a flourish. “I present your new wardrobe.”
Starr’s mouth opened in horrified silence. The garments she’d been given earlier to wear for her ‘presentation’ to Thiefiell were more modest than what she was staring at now.
Aleyel spoke rapidly and firmly, knowing that the light elf’s speechlessness was temporary at best. “Since you didn’t like what Shin picked out for you earlier, he’s decided to let me handle the issue of your clothing.” A small lie, he hadn’t picked out any of her previous clothing. But he had given Aleyel complete and free rein over the clothing choices henceforth.
“You can’t be serious!” Starr hissed, her voice trembling slightly.
“Oh, but I am.” Aleyel’s voice dropped into a hiss of her own. “You see, Shin took you in and protected you, at great personal risk to himself. And you had the audacity, and the complete and utter stupidity, to challenge Thiefiell after we all told you not to!”
“More importantly, Shin, is serious.” Aleyel’s eyes bore into Starr’s. “He’s angry, and rightly so.” She snatched the first hanger off the rack. “He informed you that Thiefiell expected him to punish you for your act of defiance earlier. And he told me that, you don’t fear him, because you know he won’t hurt you. Not after everything he’s done to protect you. But, you see, Shin’s quite clever. Your punishment is to choose which you’d prefer.” She held the rack up, shaking it slightly, underscoring exactly how many leather straps there were while causing the metal buckles to jingle lightly. “Wearing these, or wearing nothing at all.”
“I personally hope you choose to wear these.” She continued. “Nathavin and I have known for a while that Shin’s always admired light elven women. So much so that he ignored any and all dark elven women who attempted to draw his attention, including myself.” She sighed dramatically. “But I’ve resigned myself to that fate. Besides, I have Nathavin now.” Aleyel stepped closer to Starr. “But Shin, oh, he’s still alone. And soon, there will be few, if any, other light elven women to choose from.” Her gaze hardened. “You’re it. So, go ahead, choose how I present you to him tonight.”
“He-he doesn’t stay here. The barracks…he stays there.” Starr’s voice shook slightly as she realized that the woman before her had a very specific goal in mind for herself and her ‘protector’. “Does-does he realize what you’re doing?” Maybe she could drive a wedge between him and Aleyel.
“If he doesn’t, he soon will. Not that I’m worried mind you.” If he changed his mind on this, she’d just find another way to push him toward Starr. But she’d specifically chosen every outfit to entice him. She doubted very much that she’d receive much pushback from him. Nathavin had even commented that Starr would look very tempting in the outfits she’d chosen.
“And, he ‘was’ staying in the barracks.” Aleyel corrected. “Nathavin granted these quarters to both of you. Surely you didn’t expect Shin to live in those barracks indefinitely?” The unmitigated arrogance Starr had displayed about the living arrangements annoyed Aleyel to no end. “Oh, I’m so looking forward to bringing you down a few pegs.” She snarled lightly. “Choose. Leather? Or nothing but the skin you were born in?” Her eyes narrowed. “Don’t even think of trying to fight me. There are twenty guards outside that door that would just love to get even a glimpse of you without a shred of clothing. I won’t think twice about calling them in to help me dress you. Or undress you, your choice.” She shrugged lightly, indicating that she didn’t care either way.
Starr glanced at the door worriedly. Her eyes darted back to the lace and leather monstrosity that Aleyel held before her.
“Tick, tock says the clock...” Aleyel whispered threateningly.
“I’ll wear it!” Starr answered quickly. Some clothing was better than none. Besides, now that she knew what Aleyel’s intentions were, she could inform Shin and surely he’d correct this immediately. As Aleyel herself had said, he’d been protecting her so far, why would he stop now?
Her face splitting into a large grin, Aleyel chuckled as she began unbuckling the first straps. Innocent little light elf had no idea what she was about to encounter.

For long moments Shin stood outside the door of the quarters, his rucksack slung across his shoulders. What awaited him inside? It was silent behind the door. With a sigh, he twisted the knob and swung it open. The low lighting didn’t faze him the slightest. Striding further inside, he carelessly closed the door behind him with a light kick, half expecting Starr to try to attack him from the shadows.
But, nothing happened.
Curious, he abandoned the rucksack and began exploring the space. He carefully searched and cleared each room in succession before entering the master chambers. As the door swung open, his gaze fell upon Starr, rooted in place in front of the massive bed by a spell. Across her lips, he could see the faintly glowing runes of a silencing spell. That explained the lack of her yelling at him when he entered the quarters…
Dark black leather straps criss crossed her body. A wide strap looped around her neck. Attached to it was a metal o ring, where several more straps of the same size were attached. One strap plunged down her chest, connecting with two more o rings. These straps joined two straps that were wrapped around her torso. The other two straps attached to the first o ring connected to straps that went over each shoulder. The straps crossing her shoulders held a very fine lace material. The scraps of material tantalizingly hid her from view while hinting at what laid beneath it.
That same material covered her feminine assets, and the same styled leather straps wrapped around her waist, connected to straps around her thighs by slightly thinner pieces of vertical leather bands. Her legs were bare, but she wore heels of the same leather material, with metal studs all through the banding and along the heel shaft.
Shin slowly entered the room and circled around her. His gaze traveled from the top of her blonde head to the bottoms of her feet and back up, lingering on her ass.
Tearing his gaze away from her, he glanced around the room. There were various small colored vials, candles, and other assorted implements of torturous pleasure.
Clearly, Aleyel had gotten the wrong impression of what he’d intended.
Or had she?
Coming back around to Starr’s front, he finally spoke. “Not what I had in mind, but I’m not complaining…”
