A Little Friendly Sparring

Author's Note: Do not
try this at home. I figured they were
both acrobatic enough to pull it off.

Nel watched
the runologists measure Crosell's body,
impatient. At the rate they were going,
this would take hours. She turned away
from the problems in the garden below and left the castle. She spotted Albel pacing along the main
through fair of the city, glaring at anyone who came close. She waited for Albel to pace back toward
her. He noticed her standing at the top
of the stairs and stopped, looking up at her.
"What?" The word was a sharp bite; a threat.
"I'm
bored. How about a
little friendly sparring?"
Albel's
entire body relaxed and his eyes lost their hard edge. He nodded.
She descended the stairs and walked passed him, knowing he'd
follow. Nel wandered toward the gardens
on the east side of the city, finding a secluded spot with plenty of room. A wall of stone cornered two sides while
trees and tall bushes lined the other two.
Nel turned, putting her back to the wall and drew her blades. Albel fell into stance, watching her
carefully.
"Watch
the chest and shoulders," she said.
"I don't have my armor on."
He nodded
once. She took a step forward, and
suddenly he was in front of her, face inches from hers. Nel braced for the impact as he knocked her
backward with his sword arm. The hit
wasn't hard, and she only stumbled a few steps before getting her feet
back. Albel was at her again, and she
turned, letting him slide by her. He
turned slightly, using the wall like a spring board and came at her again.
Nel grabbed
his arms and rolled back, throwing him full force into the bushes. He rolled
back out, shaking the leaves from his hair.
Nel didn't give him time to get his bearings before rushing him. Albel was ready for the charge and his sword
came up. Nel's blades rang against the
katana's unedged side. Albel gave her a
quick shove and she jumped back.
Getting his
feet under him, Albel closed the distance between them. His attacks were short and sharp, the wrong
side of the sword clanging against her blades.
Albel's eyes were expressionless; devoid of the fire and absolute joy
she'd seen when he'd drop enemies like so much garbage. His face was calm; his concentration
dedicated solely to technique rather than strategy.
Nel bit her
lip to keep from cursing. She was barely
able to fend off his attacks and he was only concentrating on technique? Angry, she moved as if she'd slipped. Eyes suddenly concerned, he moved forward to
grab her arm, only to hit the ground when she tangled his legs. Nel hopped to her feet, face flushed and eyes
hard. Albel sat up and looked at her.
"I
thought this was a bit of 'friendly' sparing."
Nel
growled. "There's no strategy, no
force, nothing. I'm barely fending you
off and you aren't even trying!"
He
shrugged. "I'm not called the best
swordsman in Airyglyph for nothing."
He stood. "If you want a
real fight..." He flipped the sword, bringing the edge of the blade
forward. "Use a bit of
runology." He rushed her
again. Nel jumped back, casting while
still in the air. She landed and ice
needles shot from her hand. Albel dodged
most of the barrage, but the tail end hit his left arm, encasing the metal in
ice. He compensated for the extra weight
by slowly down.
Nel moved
to his left, forcing him to protect his arm while waiting for the spell to
collapse. Happy to be on the offensive,
she missed his feint and ended up with the cold metal smashing against her
chest as the ice finally melted away.
She hit the ground and one of her blades slipped from her grasp.
"Airyglyph
lost to the likes of you? Pathetic."
Nel glared
at him. "I'm pathetic? You're the man with a pretty face."
Albel let
his sword rest on his shoulder, tapping it gently against the armor. "Ooh.
Tough words from the pretty face whose currently on her ass." He held out his metal hand and beckoned her
toward him.
Nel found
her feet and attacked, driving the captain back to the bushes. But she spent her fury too fast and ended up
tossed back. Albel charged and she
brought up her blade. They locked
weapons.
"Aquarian scum. Nothing but maggots. The lot of you."
"How
dare you speak so lowly of the people who beat you!"
"You
should have killed me when you had the chance, fool."
"Why? I like watching you suffer."
They jumped
away from each other before attacking with renewed effort. Nel slipped low, blade sliding across his
stomach. He hissed, but it was little
more than a bloody graze. Her glee
didn't last long. The claws of his
gauntlet caught her tunic, ripping the front open. She smashed into him, and ended up angled
into the corner, caught between him and the stone wall. With a smirk, Albel dropped his sword to grab
her hair and forced her mouth to his in a rough kiss. She bit his lower lip hard enough to draw
blood.
Albel stood
over Nel, his mouth merely a breath away from hers. Her eyes lingered on the blood sliding down
his chin. She was suddenly aware of him
and smell of vanilla and spice that lingered on his skin. He towered over her; his eyes were hidden in
a swath of black blonde hair. She
grabbed his shirt and pulled him to her, licking the blood from his chin. He let go of her hair and let his hand slide
to her cheek, drawing her into a kiss.
Taking a
breath, his thumb gently brushed across her lips. "We need to stop before this goes
anywhere we would regret."
A quick
smile graced her lips. "Albel the Wicked being honorable? What an original thought."
He
smirked. "Well, if that's how you
feel..." His metal arm pulled her
body sharply against his. "Do you
really want the nightmare every Aquarian fears come nightfall?"
Nel heard a
few small clicks before the sound of his gauntlet hitting the ground
registered. His metal hand, free of the
gauntlet's sharp claws, slid under her hips and lifted her. Suddenly eye level and braced against the
wall behind her, Nel held his hair away from his face to gaze into them
unhindered. They were filled with a need
for something warm and unfamiliar with death.
She caressed his cheek lightly, suddenly understanding why he hid his
eyes and often turned away when he spoke.
His face was a carefully schooled mask, but his eyes were
expressive. Albel kissed her again,
desperately.
Nel wrapped
her legs around his waist, hands grasping his head. She pulled back for a moment. "You ripped my uniform."
"Let
me make it up to you." Albel
stepped back and heaved her up. Nel
suddenly had her legs over his shoulders before he braced her against the
wall. She grabbed his hair for balance
when his nose nuzzled her thigh.
"Oh
gods..."
His hand
reached around her thigh, pulling the black fabric away. His nose rubbed against her, inhaling
deeply. "You smell so good,"
he murmured against her skin before his tongue lapped at her clit. Nel pressed back against the wall, pushing
her womanly treasure against his face with a moan. A metal finger slid inside her and she
gasped. Locking her ankles, she pulled
on one of the ribbons holding his hair in two long tails down the back. One long lock of hair came completely undone
when she let go to brace herself against the wall.
He shrugged
and the sudden jolt made her ankles come apart.
With a light toss, Nel was eye level with Albel again, her legs around
his waist. She grasped his shoulders
when he braced her back against the wall.
He pressed his groin against her impatiently as his mouth claimed
hers. Nel kissed him while her hands
sought a way to get him undressed. He
lifted her slightly and she managed to free his erection. Pressing her against the wall, Albel slid
inside her.
"God,
you're thick..."
A smile
touched the corner of his mouth as his head fell forward, hair hiding red
eyes. His arms slid under her legs,
bringing her knees up as he thrust into her.
Groaning, Nel's head rested on his shoulder, earning a quick peck on the
cheek as Albel turned his face to hers.
She inhaled deeply, taking in the scent of vanilla and spice.
"Harder."
He bit her
shoulder lightly. "I don't
know..." He drawled, "You're so tight, Nel. I might not be able too."
"Fuck
me, Albel."
He smirked
and thrust into her sharply, taking her breath away. She grasped his shirt as he pounded into her,
rocking her hips against his.
"You
keep doing that, and I won't last much longer."
"You
bite me again and I'm gone."
Albel
pressed her against the wall, rocking her without giving her a chance to move
with him. He bit down on her shoulder
hard and she gasped, head going back. A
wave of white hit her and her muscles clamped down on him, bringing a hard
groan from his lips and a final thrust.
He leaned into her, panting.
Dropping to his knees, he rolled her to the side, holding her while they
rested in the grass. Nel buried her face
against his chest, allowing the steady pace of his breathing to lull her to
sleep.
His hand
trailed through her hair. "Don't go
to sleep yet."
She bit his
chest through his shirt, receiving a satisfyingly sharp gasp. "I'm sure someone will find us when
Crosell is ready."
"And
you want them to find us like this?"
"Are
you worried about your reputation, Albel?
Trust me. It couldn't be any
worse in Aquaria."
"I'm
worried about yours."
As if on
cue, a voice carried through the garden, calling out for them.
Nel smiled
and sat up, staring down at a man who looked thoroughly relaxed. “Shall we continue some other time then?”
He grinned,
large and wicked. “I’ll spare with you
any time you like, Lady Nel.”
