Notes: This started off so seriously. Now its not. xD Apologies to everyone that was reading my other fanfic that died off. D: I think after my computer crashed and I lost the chapter I was doing, I lost the will to work on it. Then I've been working on my comic a lot, so please don't expect fast updates.

The heart of the worlds had control of their memories, similar to Namine. The reason Namine could even manipulate memories had originated from this power. The heart of the world was different, however. The memories were to be erased and Sora and everyone would finally be able to live in their own world, much like all the others.
It was not completely true that a nobody did not exist. The word exist itself was something to be used only loosely. While it remained true that here, a body, soul, and heart must be present for a person to exist; the heart aspect was unstable in this manner. Even for some, the soul could be too. For not everyone acknowledged the existence of a "soul" or "heart" and this created problems.
This is why for the soul it continues to go on even after the body can no longer function. (When death happens, it appears the heart stays intact with the soul). The heart may leave the body, but sometimes there are traces leftover, much like how ghosts are leftover pieces of a soul.
This phenomenon occurred for a few of the nobodies we know from this adventure: Xigbar, Axel, Demyx, Namine, and Roxas.
Even after they were returned to darkness, the nobodies that were defeated could in a sense still continue to be there with leftover remnants.
The heart of the worlds could not allow this, though, and was forced upon to use the power of memories. To forget everything was the only way for normalcy and "peace" to return. The humans need not live in fear of becoming nothings, of losing hearts, of outside forces of the like any longer.
But for some, they could not accept this fate. They simply did not want to forget.
Even now, though, those who were without hearts then are still as they were in the previous time. Some exist completely without a heart while others are more debatable in this respect (the five mentioned earlier).
It was a difficult wage, but after the nobodies' bodies physically did die could this end. For even fading into nothingness was not true death for the body. Remnants of the body did remain.

Beep. Beep. Beep.
Roxas turned off his alarm clock sighing as he realized that he hated waking up before 7 am. He sat up in bed with a yawn and only then remembered.
That's right. I had one of those dreams again. The memories of the dream flashed by as he tried to recall them. It was the same as always, Roxas concluded. He sighed again and got up finally as he headed for the shower.
He got ready in the normal fashion as he had for the past 8 months of being a senior in high school. Roxas went downstairs following the sweet aroma of maple syrup and knew exactly who was making breakfast this morning. But that was mostly because his parents didn"t need to be up at 7 am to go to work. Lucky bastards.
"Hey, Roxy! Your food's on the table. Don't let it get cold," Sora said to him as Roxas took his place in front of a mound of pancakes. Lucky for him, Sora was an early riser and liked to make breakfast for them.
Sora was still slaving away cooking his own meal as Roxas started to tell him, "I had one of those dreams again."
Sora was immediately interested, but didn"t turn around and instead replied, "Oh?"
"Yeah. You were there as always. This time I remember the thing you were holding; it was a key. A giant key."
"Why would I have a key?"
Roxas shook his head even though Sora wouldn't see, "I don"t know. But... you know our principal?"
Sora finally approached the table with his pancakes, "Principal Xemnas?"
"He was there too. And he was wearing the same black jacket I always wear."
Sora stared at Roxas, his mouth filled with pancakes as he was not someone who ate in moderation and tried to not choke as he held back laughter. Roxas stared at the sight as Sora regained his composure even a tear coming to his eye. "I"m sorry, Roxas," he finally was able to get out and laugh after swallowing, "but Principal Xemnas? That's too weird!"
Roxas glared at him, "It's not like I chose for him to be there! This one was a bigger one though. I don't get these dreams very often, but this one was different. Riku was there too."
Sora stopped laughing, "Riku?!" Riku was his sorta-boyfriend after all. "What was he like?"
"I don"t remember what he was wearing, or even his face. Just that I knew it was him and... I don"t think he got along with me very well." Roxas finished off his pancake and looked to the clock to check the time. Still another ten minutes until the bus would be there. Roxas really couldn't wait to get his driver's license.
The rest of the morning followed as everyday normally had as the brothers arrived at school. Since Roxas and Sora had different first period classes, they took off in different directions down the main hallway. Roxas didn't mind, though, as he would very likely run into Namine along the way. He did, too, just not what he expected.
The short, blonde-haired girl was backed up against a set of lockers and surrounded by other girls. Roxas almost didn't notice her as he walked by, their eyes meeting briefly. It didn't take long for him to register what was happening as one of the girls held Namine's shoulder and pulled a fistful of hair.
Namine shrieked and Roxas was already bolting into action as he stepped in to separate the two girls.
"What are you doing?!" He glared at the attacker.
"This is between her and I. Dumb bitch thinks she can get away with anything." Roxas glared at her and the girl nearly laughed, "Hey, girls! Look! This shrimp thinks he can protect his girlfriend." She stepped up to him, both defiant, and looked down to him. "I don't like stupid kids glaring at me."
Roxas couldn't care less at this point and not knowing anything better to do, pushed the girl away and straight into the lockers on the other side. The girl gave out a shrill yell of pain and it was the perfect timing for the vice principal to come around the corner.
It was Xigbar and he did not look very happy at Roxas. "Mr. Roxas, what's goin' on here?"
"She was bullying Namine. She deserved it!" It made complete sense in Roxas' mind. If you're going to bully someone, don't be surprised when you get it back.
"Tsk, tsk tsk," Xigbar waved a finger nonchalantly as he continued, "Not good at all. I'm sure Mr. Xemnas would like to hear this one."
"Mr. Xemnas?!" Roxas slouched at the name. He did not want to see the principal right now, especially after that dream he had. He turned to Namine, giving her a reassuring pat on the shoulder, "Are you going to be okay?"
Namine nodded, "But... what about you? I don't want you to be in trouble over this."
"It's okay, I don't mind really. Just go to class and I'll meet up with you." Roxas started following Xigbar down the hall after turning back to Namine and giving a small wave to her. Namine was his best friend after all.
The principal's office was behind the vice principal's office, so Xigbar sat at his desk as Roxas went inside. "Mr. Roxas. Causing trouble?"
Roxas met Xemnas' gaze. Roxas admitted that the guy did have some disturbing stares, always feeling blank yet resolute. Without a doubt, he was the kind of guy that could most possibly do anything he wanted with ease. He was a perfect leader. Not only that, but the way he spoke imitated this power with absolute precision.
Xemnas was, without a doubt, the most feared being in the high school.
Roxas didn't think too much into it, he was rather stubborn and still such a child after all. "Only to those that cause trouble first."
Xemnas' eyebrows rose. "Explain."
"My friend, Namine, was being bullied by an upperclassman, so I pushed her into a locker."
"Her?" Xemnas looked sternly at Roxas, "Pushing a girl is unacceptable."
Roxas didn"t turn away or move, "She was bullying my friend and deserved it."
Xemnas kept his focus, "Regardless, there are rules. You will be appropriately punished."
Roxas was not at all happy about this. He knew in his head what he did was right and justified, "But she-"
"You have detention for the next week. You may go to your class now."
Roxas was clearly upset about the decision, but he sighed and left not caring to debate it any longer. With Roxas out of sight, Xemnas stepped into Xigbar's office. "See to it that Larxene"s detentions are revoked."
Xigbar showed a satisfied grin, "Will do. And by the way... do I get some kind of compensation for my work?"
"Of course."
-----
Roxas grumbled as he stood in front of the Science room door. Vexen was the Chemistry teacher and though he hadn't had him as a teacher yet, he heard stories about him. Mostly ones claiming he was absolutely insane; a true mad scientist. Sighing at having to go through this, he stepped into the room and quickly sat in a desk.
Vexen naturally sat at the front of the room and looked towards a paper he was holding, "Roxas, I presume?"
Roxas nodded and was going to take out his math book to work on the assigned homework when Xemnas entered, staring directly at him.
Xemnas had turned to Vexen though, "I'm going to have to talk to Mr. Roxas over there in my office for a bit, if you don't mind."
Vexen looked absolutely bored by this point not caring about pointless drabbles, "Not at all." Roxas on the other hand wondered just what kind of business the principal would want with him now. Was this punishment not enough already?
Regardless of his internal questions, he gathered his belongings and followed Xemnas back down to his office. When they arrived, it looked like Xigbar had already left. Xemnas held the door open and Roxas entered first and he could have sworn he heard a lock click after it shut behind Xemnas too.
No conversation passed between the two, just a silence devoid of eeriness or contentment or anything really. Roxas felt most familiar in this atmosphere with the man.
Was it because of the dreams? In that last dream he had felt exactly the same.
Xemnas took his seat and Roxas his own in front of the desk.
"Roxas, you are not in trouble this time. In fact, there's something I'm willing to help you with."
Help with? Roxas thought for a second. He couldn't remember needing help with anything lately.
Xemnas continued reaching into a drawer and pulling out an envelope, "I know you and your girlfriend, Namine, wanted tickets for that Utada Hikaru concert, the one that was sold out? I happened to get my hand on a pair and am willing to give them to you."
Oh, that thing, Roxas remembered it now. Namine was nearly obsessed in the woman and had expressed interest in wanting to go. Roxas had gone to get tickets, but by then they were sold out.
"Would you like them?"
Roxas nodded, of course he would. "Yeah."
"Good, but there is one little favor I want you to do in return. Its hardly anything and would take less than ten minutes." Roxas knew there had to be a catch, but he listened to the proposal anyway. If it were something so simple, he would definitely do it. He went on, "I'll cut right to the chase then, have you ever heard of a blow job?"
Blow job? Roxas had heard of it before and had an idea of how to do it. His friend, Hayner, had brought it up before. So Roxas nodded affirmation.
He could have sworn a smirk shown for an instance on Xemnas' face, "Good. I would like you to do it on me."
Roxas didn't have to think too long. Was that it? It seemed very easy. "Okay."
Xemnas also thought that had been very easy, but he had observed Roxas well beforehand. He was not randomly picked for this after all. His careless attitude was easily manipulable. "Come here."
Roxas got up and walked around the desk, Xemnas turning in his swirly-chair to face him. "Kneel down," Xemnas commanded to which Roxas instantly obeyed.
After the task had been completed, Xemnas let out a gasp of breath as he regained normal breathing, "Very good, Roxas." He handed him an envelope which Roxas took assuming it was the tickets. "You may take your leave now."
Hefting up his backpack, Roxas left and went into the main hallway. Now that he thought of it, he should have also had Xemnas excuse his detentions. He was so lost in thought that he had barely noticed the brilliant mass of red hair coming down the hall directly at him.
"Roxy!" Axel shouted out as he approached the blond. "What are you doing out here?"
Roxas decided it was probably better to not mention what happened with Xemnas. He wasn't stupid and knew this guy was crushing on him and Roxas also knew that people easily got jealous of sex stuff. "I got detention for a week. I was just heading back."
Axel looked a bit hopeful, "In Vexen's room?" To which Roxas nodded and Axel seemed to brighten. "Me too! I was taking a 'bathroom break', so we can head back together." He threw an arm around Roxas' shoulders and noticed the envelope, "What's that?"
Roxas almost melted into the contact from that strong arm around him. He noticed that touches from Axel always stirred him inside a bit. "Tickets for the Utada Hikaru concert. Namine wanted to go."
Axel's eyebrow quirked at the name. Namine, his biggest rival. He would have to plan something for him and Roxas that'd be better than a concert. But what? Not to mention he was next to broke. The concert was on Friday night so...
"Wanna go to the zoo with me on Saturday?" The zoo. Nice.
Roxas didn't recoil, though, as he thought for a minute. "Sure." He had nothing better to do anyway.
Axel mentally high-fived himself, swearing to make that day perfect for them. He'd have to start planning right away.
For now, however, he and Roxas headed back to the classroom. The only thoughts for Roxas being the history test he had the next day and Axel's about how he could finally tell Roxas his true feelings for him.
To be continued...
