AN: I know, I know. I have other things to work on. Like... a lot of them. But this is a holiday gift fic for Amaronith, and I like to give nice presents (especially to people who inspire me to write so much). So here's this little romp! I've wanted to write something with these three in it for a while now, actually, so thanks to Amaronith for asking for it.

“Open up, Tessy! Yer guests of honor have arrived—and it’s cold out here!”

Jak laughed as Daxter’s gloved knuckles rapped insistently on Tess’s door, his breath billowing white in the frosty air. It was cold that night, he couldn’t argue that. However, whereas he had grabbed his old scarf and bundled up against that chill, Daxter had just spent the walk over to the bartender’s new home complaining about it.

“Coming!” Tess was at the door almost instantly, swinging it wide to welcome them with a big smile on her face. “Right on time, boys. I just put dinner on the table. Come in, come in!”

Daxter darted inside at once, Jak following with a smile of his own. He couldn’t blame Tess for being excited about finally moving out of her rooms above the Naughty Ottsel. He and Daxter had helped her move, in fact, but had only gotten as far as physically transporting her belongings before being called back to Spargus for an important job. Tess had finished decorating the new place on her own, and was obviously eager to show it off.

Jak looked around, then bent to unstrap his boots. It really was a nice place. It was in a better neighborhood than the bar, for one. It had been kept up well and looked nice. And the little house Tess had chosen seemed to be just the right size for one—or two. The hero turned just in time to catch Tess and Daxter sharing a whisper that trailed off into a giggling fit on Tess’s part, and a kiss enthusiastically applied to the redhead’s cheek. He turned away quickly, swallowing hard.

So what if Tess had room for Daxter now. It had only been a matter of time, really. The two were obviously meant to be together, even before the whole ottsel fiasco had been resolved. There was no use fighting it. Jak would take it like a man when the announcement came that he was losing his best friend and partner to a life of domestic bliss rather than one of constant motion and hazard.

“Something smells really great, Tess,” he said, trying hard to stay positive. She had invited him along to dinner, too, and not just Daxter. That had to count for something. “What did you—oh, wow!”

Jak stopped short in the doorway to the kitchen-slash-dining room. A fancy tablecloth draped the small table set for three. Tall candles were lit in the middle of the table on either side of a vase of red roses. Stemmed wine glasses, neatly folded linen napkins, and what was obviously good silverware and china were perfectly arranged. It was like a high-class restaurant in Kras! Tess had pulled out all the stops.

“Only the best for my big, strong, handsome heroes!” Tess laughed, nudging the green-blonde racer into the room ahead of her and Daxter.

“Tessy, you are obviously a princess. Is that steak I smell?”

The blonde giggled at Daxter’s compliment. “The best cuts I could get my hands on, and good wine, too. Sit down, boys, and let me serve you!”

“Can’t we help—?” Jak began, before Daxter’s hands on his shoulders pushed him down into a chair.

“Listen to the lady, Jakkie-boy. Chillax.”

Jak snorted but let it be. Tess did seem to be having fun playing hostess. Hostess, or housewife. The racer sighed softly as he looked at the spread before them. Steak. Wine. Roses, for godsake. A candlelit dinner. Why did it seem so much better suited for two? More and more often he felt like the third wheel, and not in the cute, happy tricycle way.

Tess bent to take a tray of bread out of the oven, humming to herself. Jak studiously averted his eyes from a modest spill of cleavage and a tight little posterior, hard to miss in the rather close quarters of the kitchen. Daxter was lucky all the way around. She had the looks, the weapons expertise, the cheery attitude, and she could whip up a mean martini. What wasn’t there to love?

She had been so nice to him lately, too. At first Jak had thought she was only putting up with him for Daxter’s sake, but now he was pretty sure that was just how she was. Nice. Nice to a fault. She would take his arm sometimes like they were old friends, strike up conversations about gun mods and racer parts and have him talking more than he normally would in a week to anyone but Daxter. In many ways he was closer to Tess than he was even to Keira, now.

It should have alarmed him, but it didn’t. Tess was safe. Tess could be trusted. She would never go out of her way to split Jak and Daxter up to have the redhead all to herself. When that happened it would be natural, over the course of time. No one’s fault. Just something that happened. He should be grateful for the small comforts, at least.

“Careful, it’s hot!” Tess chirped as she began dishing up plates.

Daxter growled playfully, too soft for Tess to hear. “Not as hot as some things in here.”

Jak looked up from his glass of water with a surprised huff of laughter—one that was immediately silenced when he noticed the direction of his friend’s gaze. Dax wasn’t looking at the blonde busy by the stove. He had been looking at Jak, and now that the racer was looking back, he found a raised eyebrow and a very satisfied smirk aimed his way.

For a moment all Jak could do was blink stupidly. Then he gave a small nod of agreement. Yes, Tess was almost painfully attractive. He understood where Dax was coming from very well. It was a testament to their closeness that the redhead didn’t mind him thinking so, too.

Abruptly the room grew dim, and the odd glint in Daxter’s blue eyes was lost on Jak. Tess had turned down the lights, and the glow of the candles now held sway. “Alright, boys, from this point on there will be no stress, no unhappiness, and no bad thoughts. Tonight is about having a good time. Let’s dig in!”

Jak did his best to follow the new rule. The food was delicious, so there was no problem there. He, Daxter, and Tess sat in a little triangle around the table, passing the conversation effortlessly—even if they did most of the talking, Jak was at least kept laughing.

Tess enthusiastically explained the new karaoke system she was having installed at the bar. Daxter told the story of the whumpbee nest on Jak’s ill-fated ninth birthday, when they had mistaken the hive for a hanging piñata. Jak countered with the story of Dax being treed by an angry lurker that had managed to rip out most of the seat of his pants before Jak came to the rescue. Through it all the wine kept flowing, and by the time Tess served dessert Jak was thoroughly relaxed. Contented, one might say.

“Hasn’t this been a nice evening, big guy?” Daxter purred, inspecting a forkful of something decadent and chocolate that had been set before him.

“Yeah, it’s been great,” Jak agreed immediately, and felt a socked foot nudge against his own. He smiled, giving it a little shove in return. It was Dax, of course, being playfully pushy.

However, the roving foot came back almost at once. This time it did nothing so much as drift softly down Jak’s calf, the toes curling at the top of his sock in a way that made an involuntary shiver go up the racer’s spine. Okay, now that tickled. What the heck was Daxter doing? He moved his foot, a quick twitch, hoping to get the point across. The intruder was back in an instant, this time dragging quick toes across Jak’s arch.

Abruptly Jak put his foot on the ground and moved his legs out under the table, in the other direction. He could feel himself flushing, and not just from the glass and a half of wine he’d had. Maybe the redhead thought he was being cute, but it was too reminiscent of the innocent, flirting play they had indulged in when they were children. Before Jak had caused the whole ottsel mess. He still remembered the playful, wondering way they had touched each other back then, down behind the stone sentinels of Sentinel Beach, or up in Jak’s room on the edge of the bed, taking the first tentative steps into a new and exciting world.

Jak missed those days. Sometimes desperately. But they weren’t kids anymore, and even if Daxter was human again, he had Tess now. The former hero had never brought it up again.

He almost yelped when a smaller, daintier foot landed on top of his own and stroked against it teasingly. Now Tess was doing it! She and Daxter looked entirely enthralled in a discussion of whether or not winners of the karaoke contests should be given free booze, but he could see their barely suppressed smiles. Good gods, they were mistaking him for each other in a game of footsie! Trust his scatterbrained friends not to be able to tell whose foot was whose under the small table.

With a huff Jak got to his feet and grabbed up his empty plate. “That was really good, Tess. Thanks.” Maybe they could figure it out with one less set of legs under there.

“Ah! Drop that, mister!”

Jak paused, halfway to the sink. “Huh?”

“You put down that plate right now! I’m taking care of the dishes, too.”

“But—”

“If you’re done at the table you may go sit on the couch,” Tess scolded, taking away his dish like he was a little boy being sent to the corner. “Daxxie, you can go, too. I’ll join you when I’ve cleaned up a little in here.”

There was nothing for it but to do as he was told, following Dax into the small den and trying not to laugh. That was Tess, alright. Sunshine and rainbows and dewdrops one minute—and then she was whipping out a blaster gun with killer mods, still smiling like an angel.

“Oh, man. I am officially stuffed. How ‘bout you?”

Jak nodded and groaned softly as he sat back on the sofa. Daxter plopped down next to him, leaning unceremoniously against his side with his head rested on Jak’s shoulder. Wild red hair fluffed out and tickled the racer’s neck. “Yeah, I am. So watch where you sprawl, huh? You’re a lot heavier now than you used to be, you know.”

“Are you callin’ me fat? ‘Cause if you are, I’d say that’s the pot callin’ the kettle tubby.” Daxter poked teasingly at his friend’s full stomach, earning an annoyed swat from Jak. Chuckling, he redirected the intruding arm to drape across Jak’s shoulders instead. “Just teasin’ ya, pal. You know I love ya.”

“Hn. Sometimes I wonder.” Jak tried and failed to hide a smile.

Daxter was warm and pleasant against his side. Even if it was only the wine making the redhead clingy, Jak wasn’t going to complain. He missed the physical closeness he and Dax had shared over the ottsel years, so recently taken away. It still felt like part of his day was missing when he could see and hear and speak to his friend, but not scratch behind his ears and pet his soft fur and curl up with him at night.

“Y’know, Jak, I’ve been thinking.”

“Really?” The green-blonde feigned surprise. “That’s new.”

“Hey!” Dax nudged him hard, huffing indignantly.

Jak laughed. “Sorry. What have you been thinking, Dax?”

“I shouldn’t tell ya, jerk. But I will anyway, ‘cause I’m a nice guy like that, unlike some people. I’ve been thinking: why don’t ya pet me anymore?”

More than surprised, Jak looked over to find his friend’s pouty face inches from his own. Oh, great. Dax must have had more to drink than he thought. “It’s, um. It’s because you’re not an ottsel anymore, Dax.” Maybe a little dose of The Obvious would make it clear.

Daxter rolled his eyes so hard his entire head tilted along with it. “No, really? I hadn’t noticed that! Thanks fer pointing that out ta me, Jak!”

“Hey, you asked!”

“What I mean, Jak, is… maybe I wanna be petted anyway. Ever think of that, pal? I liked it then, so why wouldn’t I enjoy it now? I’m still the same upstairs, y’know.”

Jak was slowly beginning to realize that something wasn’t quite right. His ears began to tip back as he tried to figure out what that something was, and answer Daxter at the same time. “Yeah, I know that. It’s just—”

“Just that I shouldn’t want yer big, strong mitts all over me now that I’m not cute and fluffy anymore? Why? Is there something wrong with friends touching each other, Jak?”

The word ‘touching’ tumbled past lips so close Jak could feel hot breath against his cheek, and he pulled his head back in shock. The companionable arm that had been over his shoulder the whole time curled around his neck, though, and he could only pull back so far.

Daxter was putting the moves on him. It was as undeniable as the fact that they were sitting in Tess’s living room and she was right around the corner. However, what alarmed Jak most wasn’t that Dax was putting the moves on him with his girlfriend just a wall away. It was how much he wished Daxter’s girlfriend wasn’t in the next room, so he could have insane, hot couch sex with the insane, hot redhead whose hand was steadily kneading its way up his thigh toward his crotch.

“Are you naughty boys having fun in here?”

Jak jumped and almost yelled as well-manicured hands landed on his shoulders and Tess herself settled on the cushions on his other side. He had completely missed the silence of the tap in the kitchen that might have given him some warning of her imminent arrival. Now he was well and truly busted, pinned up against the back of the couch with her drunk boyfriend’s hand over a growing bulge in his jeans.

“Tess! This isn’t—I mean, I—” Just why the hell was he acting like this was his fault, anyway? “I think Dax had a little too much to drink.”

“Oh? No he didn’t.” Tess’s head cocked curiously. “He had less than you did, Jak. What makes you say that?” Then she leaned forward and kissed his jaw, right where his goatee began, making the racer’s already topsy-turvy world come to a screeching halt. Tess threw off the whole equation.

“You look like a lurker shark with its mouth open, big guy.” Daxter actually had the nerve to laugh, thumb running up and down Jak’s inseam. “Just relax, Jak. Just go with it. Everything’s cool.”

The green-blonde sucked in a ragged breath, trying to make sense of what was happening here. Tess leaving little teasing kisses along his jaw and under his ear did not help with that. Was Daxter proposing that they… share her? Jak had heard of such things, mostly among the soldiers of the Freedom League barracks back in the day. It seemed to be a popular topic in porno vids, too. But both Jak and Daxter respected Tess too much for that. And the way she and Daxter were acting, it almost seemed like Jak was the one up for being shared.

“I can’t do this!” Before they could get a good hold on him, Jak staggered to his feet. He just couldn’t. Could not. He was heading for the door when Daxter’s voice stopped him.

“Jak, wait!”

Just like he always did, Jak listened to that voice. He stopped less than half way across the room, his back to the sofa, hands twitching like a wild flut flut’s wings. He heard soft footfalls behind him before arms went around his waist in a comforting hug.

“Too fast, huh, pal?” Daxter asked softly. Tess came creeping up like a little mouse, all concern and sheepish apology, to carefully take up Jak’s unresisting arm and hug it, too.

“It’s nothing bad. I liked it.” Jak swallowed, but was determined to at least let them know that much. “It’s not you two. It’s… I don’t even know what it is. Sorry.”

“Oh, so you like it, huh?” There was hope in that!

Jak felt a chin come to rest on his shoulder, and hands moving around his waist. Tess pressed closer until she was holding him properly, too, and suddenly he didn’t know whose hands were plucking at his belt. “Yes, I like it, but—”

“Then that’s all that matters, Jak. It’s okay. Just enjoy.”

Jak moaned and tipped his head back to land heavily on Daxter’s shoulder, green-tinged gold spilling down his friend’s red jacket. His face felt so hot he half feared his scarf might catch fire. This couldn’t be right. Now there could be no doubt about it—the hands down the front his pants definitely didn’t belong to Tess.

Oh, gods. Weren’t there rules about this sort of thing? The guys in the porn threesomes only touched the girl—never each other. Dare he hope there was some sort of message being sent here?

“Daxter,” he panted, shifting in his friend’s grip, “I… is this… oh, damn! Unh! Is this okay? I mean, we’re—”

“Don’t you want it, Jak?” A sly voice cut him off, a hot tongue dragging along the top edge of his ear. “Don’t tell me ya forgot what we used ta do down at the beach.”

Jak swore, his knees going weak as Tess giggled against his neck. “We were just kids, Dax! We didn’t know what we were doing!”

“And now, we do. So. How ‘bout it, gorgeous?” The hand squeezed his already-hard shaft a final time, then skimmed even lower, tucking back between his legs in a bold promise that made Jak buck and loose a shocked whimper. “Gonna be ours tonight?”

“Tonight?” Jak took a deep, shuddering breath. He had to think. “Just tonight?”

Tess’ small hands smoothed down the front of his jacket soothingly, dragging the zipper as they did. “Of course not just tonight, silly. This is too important for something like that. You’re too important.”

“We knew right from the get-go it was all or nothin’, Jak,” Daxter whispered in his gently twitching ear. “This is fer keeps. Y’know, I don’t think I could stand havin’ just one night with ya. It might break my heart. You wouldn’t crush my tiny feelings with a one night stand, would ya, big guy?”

“You are so full of shit, Daxter.” It was half a moan and half laughter, and Jak blessed his best friend for being able to joke their way through even this—for taking what was currently Jak’s greatest fear and claiming it was his own.

An ornery growl was his answer, playful buckteeth nipping at that ear Daxter refused to quit worrying, and Jak almost could have come right there had Tess not stepped back suddenly, leaving a cold gap in the pressing warmth he had been growing used to.

The blonde was pink-cheeked, her gaze drifting up and down the two before her. Jak blinked back innocently, and she smiled. “Boys. Bedroom?”

Jak froze. Bedroom. Juvenile make-outs and heavy petting happened on living room sofas. The real thing happened in bedrooms. This was really the real thing. Oh, shit.

“Good thinking, Tessy-kins,” Daxter grinned. He too stepped back, dragging his hand out of Jak’s pants agonizingly slowly. “Lead the way?”

She shook her head, stepping back toward the kitchen. “I’ll be right behind you. I just want to get a few things, okay?”

“You got it. Shall we, Jak?”

Jak followed his friend through the house to the bedroom in back without question. “You guys were planning this all along, weren’t you?”

“Well, yeah.” Dax stopped in front of the large bed that took up most of the room and threw a cocky smirk over his shoulder at Jak. “We had ta make it good, and that took planning. It’s not every day a guy gets ta seduce his best pal. And a cute little virgin, at that.”

Jak’s eyes narrowed dangerously. Oh, Daxter did not just go there. With a growl he rushed, almost managing to knock the redhead off his feet. Almost. Dax knew him well enough to be on his toes, though, and met Jak head on. Their hands locked, palm to palm, fingers entwined as they wrestled around the room laughing and trying to throw each other off balance, just as they had done on warm sand so long ago.

Finally Jak hooked an ankle behind Daxter’s and pulled his friend into a stumble. They hit the bed in a tangle of arms and legs. Dax scrambled up to sit on Jak’s midriff, keeping the green-blonde’s hands gently pinned on either side of his head.

“Ha! I win! Only took me… let’s see, four years? Five?”

“Don’t get used to it.” Jak couldn’t find the will to be upset over the loss. Not with Dax leaning over him like that.

“Heh. Don’t worry, tough guy. We’ll treat our little virgin easy.”

“Oh, shut up.” Jak blushed, ears falling to the sides, but he couldn’t help the wry smile.

Daxter’s smug expression softened, and he leaned in closer. “Precursors, Jak. Do you have any idea how hard it’s been on me?”

“Huh?”

“All those years sittin’ on yer shoulder. Takin’ showers with ya. Sleepin’ on ya, fer godsake, feelin’ it when ya got all tense an’ hard in the middle’a the night and not bein’ able ta do a damn thing about it ‘cause I was covered in fur. Do you have any idea how hard it is ta jerk off next ta you, pal, when even the slightest twitch wakes ya up but you’ll wake up anyway if I try an’ leave the bed? It’s not easy!”

Jak blinked up at him wordlessly. How had he missed it, all that time? Now all he could do was squeeze Daxter’s hands in silent apology and whimper, actually whimper, when the redhead shifted and their erections met through their clothes.

“Tessy, are you almost ready?” There was a high whine behind the query, betraying just how desperate Daxter was getting, and Jak was glad of it. Good. He wasn’t the only one.

“Almost!” she called from down the hall. “If you’re not both naked, get that way!”

Jak laughed somewhat helplessly at that. “Looks like we’ve got permission.”

“Well, then. Far be it for me to hold back.” Dax teasingly skated his hands up the front of Jak’s open jacket, slipping it off as far as he was able with the green-blonde laying on it. He traced the musculature under the thin black shirt that came next, making Jak quiver. “Sit up, buddy.”

The moment he did, clothes began flying. If Jak had thought Dax had fast fingers under vehicle hoods, he was doubly impressed now. He reached for the redhead’s own shirt and managed to get it over his head before Daxter pounced on his pants, pulling his belt off so fast it hissed through the denim loops.

Jak smiled unsteadily. “This isn’t a race, Lightning.”

“No, but the sooner we pass the prelims, the sooner we can get to the main event. Ya dig?”

The racer’s whole body tingled at his best friend’s devious smirk, the purr in that familiar voice. Had he been taking sexy lessons from Tess, or something? Regardless, Dax did have a good, solid point there. Jak struggled rather clumsily out of his pants as Daxter unwound his scarf and pitched it haphazardly over one shoulder.

The scarf landed neatly across Tess’s head as she stepped into the room with a plain paper bag held to her chest. “Hey!” she laughed, shaking her head to make it slip from her hair. “Who’s throwing stuff in here?”

Daxter paused to look back at her. “Only me, Tessy. Sorry about that.”

Tess faltered then, her smile fading as a becoming blush bloomed on her cheeks. She took in the sight of them—Daxter half naked, sitting on Jak’s abs with one of the green-blonde’s hands frozen inside his open zipper; Jak motionless under him, mostly undressed and obviously very hard under his boxer-briefs.

“Like, wow, baby,” she said quietly, walking almost hesitantly to the side of the bed. Jak’s eyes followed her like a startled animal’s. “You two look so good together, it’s amazing!”

Daxter grinned cheekily, thumbs stroking over Jak’s nipples hard enough to make the racer break eye contact with Tess and suck in a shocked breath. “Aww, Tessy-kins. Yer not just sayin’ that?”

“No way. It’s like you were meant to fit together, you know? I’m awful lucky.” She smiled dreamily, setting the bag down on a dresser and reaching into it.

“Well, babe, we are the Demolition Duo. Not sold separately. Ain’t that right, Jak?” He leaned forward as he said it, clutching Jak’s shoulders and grinding himself lithely against the racer until Jak moaned an assent. “I knew you thought so.”

“Don’t you get carried away without me,” Tess warned, pulling half a dozen small jar candles out of the bag. “There’s no way I’m missing this.”

Jak caught the delicate scent of roses as she began to light them, lining them up on the dresser in front of the elaborate vanity mirror that reflected their light. Roses must have been her favorite flower. And she was fond of candlelight. Tess really was a romantic. For some reason he couldn’t imagine Keira or Ashelin taking the trouble to do what the blonde had that night.

“Wanna know what else is gonna make tonight extra special, Tess?” Daxter asked casually, twirling a lock of Jak’s hair around his finger.

“What’s that?”

“Jakkie-boy is totally a virgin.”

“What?!” Tess fumbled the last candle—luckily unlit—and it bounced on the carpet before rolling away under the bed. “No way!”

“Daxter!” Jak yelled, turning red yet again. He almost tried to roll them and knee the redheaded idiot in the gut, but managed to contain himself. Sexy time would definitely be revoked if he stooped to violence and, against all odds, he wanted that sexy time. Badly. “Is it really necessary to keep embarrassing me tonight?” he asked sarcastically, laying his hot ears back in annoyance.

Dax flicked him lightly on one offended ear. “I am not tryin’ ta embarrass you, ya goof. I’m lettin’ our fine lady know what ta expect. Just so we don’t accidentally do somethin’ that spooks ya. Know what I’m sayin’?”

“Oh.” Suitably chastised, Jak lowered his eyes meekly. Dax was just looking out for him after all. Who would have thought?

Tess recovered her composure quickly. “Don’t worry, Jak,” she cooed, scooping up her bag and transferring it to the nightstand. “We won’t do anything you don’t like. Tonight will be great for you, you’ll see!”

“Great for you guys too, right?” he asked with some difficulty. A pity fuck with nothing in it for his friends was the last thing he wanted.

“Trust me, no one’s leavin’ this play date disappointed, gorgeous. I fully plan on pissin’ off Tessy’s new neighbors with our sexy, sexy screams.”

Jak groaned halfheartedly, covering his flushed face with one palm. “Please, no. The last thing I want is someone calling in a disturbance and the Guards coming to shut us up. Can you imagine what would happen once that got back to Ashelin?”

Daxter cackled gleefully at the thought. “At least she’d know who you belong to!”

“For sure, baby,” Tess giggled. She shut the bedroom door and the curtains over the window, even though it was dark outside. Then she switched off the light, leaving the room comfortably washed in the candles’ glow.

“Tessy’s got a talent fer atmosphere,” Dax said conversationally as the blonde began to peel off her tiny shirt.

Jak was abruptly grateful for the dimness of the room. Out of reflex he tried to turn his face away as he caught sight of a splash of lacey pink bra. A hand firmly caught his chin, though, and tilted his head back in the right direction.

“Newsflash, pal. Tonight it’s okay ta look.” Daxter smiled, running a thumb under Jak’s goatee. “We’re gonna be lookin’ at you, after all. Fair’s fair.”

The racer swallowed and nodded, doing his best to play it cool and not think that far ahead as Tess discarded her shirt and gloves and moved lower to unzip her shorts. Her panties were pink and lacey, too. He had half believed that matching underwear was just a lie fabricated by the porn industry.

“Beautiful, isn’t she?” Dax sighed, obviously infatuated, as Tess gave him a wink.

Jak nodded emphatically, not trusting his voice. He still found it hard to believe this was really happening. He had been fantasizing about it for years—to his shame, jerking off to imaginings of Tess making love to Daxter. Daxter, who was stretched out beside Jak in his girlfriend’s bed, in tight pants and not much else, hungrily petting Jak’s chest and stomach as they watched Tess strip.

Kicking off her shorts with the toes of one dainty foot—the nails of which were painted a cheerful orange—Tess sashayed to the edge of the bed and climbed on. Jak’s heart rate spiked when she settled down beside him, laying her head on the same pillow. He was caught between her and Daxter, now, and feeling more vulnerable than he had in forever.

“There. We’re all even, now.” Her blue eyes scanned them appraisingly. “Mostly. Pants off, Daxxie. I know you’re attached to them, but these are extenuating circumstances.”

“Whoops, almost forgot.” The redhead squirmed out of them obligingly, then dropped back down next to Jak in nothing but his underwear. Rather distended underwear, at that. “That’s better.”

Tess nodded enthusiastically. Propping herself on her elbows, she leaned over Jak’s chest to rub noses with Daxter. “Oh, this is going to be so wonderful, my little snookums! I’m so glad we decided to do this!”

“Me too, Tessy-kins.”

That the cute little nose rub thing should turn into a full-on kiss wasn’t strange. That it was happening literally a foot in front of Jak’s face kind of was. He closed his eyes briefly, trying to stay oriented, fully aware of the smooth, slick sounds of their kiss. Dear gods.

“Hey, Jak?” Tess’s sweet voice interrupted his budding panic attack, and he opened his eyes questioningly. “Can I kiss you?”

Jak’s tongue was suddenly stuck to the roof of his mouth. All he could do was nod dumbly while Daxter grinned hugely and settled down to watch.

Tess tasted like cherry lip gloss and Daxter. Her lips met Jak’s very gently, then slowly became bolder when he offered no resistance, instead pressing back lightly. Opening his mouth for her was natural. Her tongue was hot, slick, and clever as it curled around his own much less experienced one. The girl was good.

Jak jerked when he felt a sly hand trace over the damp bulge in his underwear. He tensed, shivered, then let the sensation wash over him as he mewled into Tess’s mouth. She was smiling when they parted.

“Aww, Jak, you are just so cute.”

“I so agree, Tessy. And, fer the record…” Daxter’s breath whispered hot in a long ear as his hand began to knead Jak’s package in earnest. “Yer eyes totally roll back when you get kissed.”

A growl was Jak’s answer. He would show the smarmy little redhead! Grabbing Dax by the back of the neck, Jak pulled him down.

Their first kiss in years was hot, hard, and almost a fight. Tongues clashed, teeth nipped at lower lips. Daxter got a hand to Jak’s nape and fisted the fine green hair there. Jak loved it. So much different than those first secret, exploratory kisses in his childhood bedroom, yet just as exciting.

When they finally broke apart, both panting harshly and more aroused than ever, Tess smiled unsteadily. She was shifting on the bedspread, thighs rubbing together restlessly. “I think you boys needed that.”

“Did we ever,” Dax groaned, resting his forehead against Jak’s. “Precursors, I missed that. I had such a freakin’ huge crush on you when we were brats.”

The admission was heady and potent. “Me too, Dax.”

“I think Jak gets a gold star for his first lesson, don’t you, Daxxie?” Tess reached out to helpfully brush a sweaty strand of green-gold behind the racer’s ear.

“Oh, most definitely. We’ll have him kissin’ like a pro in no time!”

“Lessons, huh?” Jak chuckled weakly at the thought. He certainly needed them.

Daxter rose to his knees, smirking down at Jak all the while. “Of course. Between us, me an’ Tessy will turn you into a lovin’ machine, Jakkie-boy. First lesson was kissing. Second lesson: foreplay.”
