It had become a rather comfortable life for Chell after she’d returned to Aperture. GLaDOS had accepted her back rather quietly, and Chell had the sneaking suspicion the AI had actually missed her. Chell still tested. The tests were a little different now, though. She tested of her own accord, somewhat enamored of the puzzles and challenges GLaDOS was able to dream up. GLaDOS, for her part, had significantly decreased the amount of dangers so her favorite test subject wouldn’t be lost forever. Acid pits had been replaced with acid holograms, and falling into them merely resulted in a harsh buzzer and a trip back to the test chamber’s entryway. Turrets shot harmless lasers instead of bullets, and too many laser hits also resulted in a harsh buzzer and redirection to the entrance. It was more like a game instead of survival now, and Chell was beginning to like it that way. GLaDOS, however, was horribly bored by the whole thing. Though she liked watching Chell run the gauntlet, there was no element of danger, no fear or worry. It was almost the same as testing robots. And it certainly didn’t help the itch. “Let me put it this way,” GLaDOS began again, hoping a new analogy would help Chell fully understand. “The moron had a different ‘itch’ than I have. His ambition was success; his desire reflected that. Every time you would succeed, he would receive the gratification. Are you comprehending so far?” Chell nodded. “My ambition is failure. I live to see you fail. Nothing personal, of course -” she interjected quickly as Chell’s brow began to furrow “ - just a natural response to my programming. Seeing you fall into that hologram simply isn’t enough. I need death.” The large frame of her massive body lowered as far as possible as she let out a disappointed sigh. “And yes, I…enhanced the truth when I said the testing euphoria doesn’t affect me. In all honesty, I’ve had a longing for it ever since we ran through the idiot’s tests. That was my euphoria he was enjoying.” She sighed again and looked down at the floor. Chell tapped her chin for a moment, thinking. She didn’t really have the inclination to die – not for GLaDOS’s self-gratification – but there must be some way they could both be happy. Her, alive and running her neat little gamut of puzzles; GLaDOS, satisfied in her macabre way of loving death… Chell gave a small gasp, her eyes widening. GLaDOS peeked up from her self-loathing. Chell mimicked typing by wiggling her fingers, and immediately an old word processor and keyboard was presented to her. The archaic machine was just about the only way she could communicate properly with GLaDOS, and the AI, having been (possibly justifiably) paranoid about Chell’s computer skills, purposely provided a more simplistic machine. Chell bit her lip, drumming on the keyboard for a moment. A tinge of pink lit her cheeks, and GLaDOS’s head tilted to the side in curiosity. Finally, the AI let out another sigh. “Well, are you going to type something or aren’t you?” She chewed her lip for another moment before her fingers flew across the keys. Her brief message finished, she tucked her hands into her lap and tried to avoid eye contact. “My own ‘tiny death’?” GLaDOS echoed. She processed for a moment. “No, I’m pretty sure I don’t naturally produce oxytocin. I could probably simulate it, but I don’t see any reason…” GLaDOS’s head started a bit, realizing the message’s other implications. “You mean…?” Chell nodded, still looking away. GLaDOS seemed to stare for a moment, though whether it was in disbelief or anger was questionable. She lowered her head a little more before continuing, in a deep, quiet voice: “Does that generally work?” Chell nodded again, the pink in her cheeks darkening to an uneasy red. “But I would have to be…humanoid…in order to attain this gratification?” Chell typed something quickly on her keyboard. “Of course I can make a body,” GLaDOS retorted, somewhat offended. “Nanobot technology can do anything, after all. And by standards it will probably be a better one than yours. Certainly less heavy.” The supercomputer rose up a little, glaring down dominantly at the test subject. Her facade quickly waned, and she lowered again. “Well, there is one minor detail. Unfortunately, my data on humans beyond their ability to walk, eat, excrete, and hold neurotoxin is extremely sparse. I’m afraid an imaging is in order.” Chell blinked. There was a heavy pause. “I have to see exactly what you look like.” The human’s eyes widened, color draining from her face as she understood. GLaDOS directed her attention to a screen behind her, and Chell heard a shifting of panels from somewhere close. “There’s a room down the hallway that I’m preparing. Go down the second hallway to the left, then make a right. You’ll know the place.” This was already beginning to sound like a bad idea. Chell pushed the archaic computer away, hesitant to leave. GLaDOS had already plotted up a series of blueprints on her screens and adamantly refused to turn back around. It seemed there was no other choice. Chell reminded herself that her life may very well be on the line unless she complied. She gave a nervous sigh as she started for the door, cursing herself inwardly at her own idea. This would not end well. “Disrobe and lie down,” GLaDOS’s voice said clinically from a loudspeaker on the wall. The narrow room was decked in clean white tile from floor to ceiling. A padded bed sat in the middle of the room, covered with white cloth. Chell frowned, searching the walls instinctively for cameras as she stepped in. Although she had some idea what was about to happen, she didn’t feel like any extra eyes should be on her. She was glad that she was no longer required to wear the orange jumpsuit of imprisonment, though the facility didn’t have much else to offer in way of clothing. She had an awful feeling that most clothes had been taken from long-deceased test subjects, but she couldn’t really complain, especially when GLaDOS herself had tailored most of Chell’s wardrobe. Complete with many, many fat jokes, of course. Today she had been testing, so she wore loose track pants and a tank top. She shed both of these, remaining in her underclothes for an uncomfortable few minutes before stripping out of those as well. As she climbed up on the table she became aware of a modestly small camera in the corner of the room. She scowled at it, trying in vain to cover her exposed parts. “Just relax,” GLaDOS’s voice said again. Her tone was tinged with nervousness, however, and Chell wondered exactly how she was expected to relax when even the AI was anxious. Regardless, she set her hands at her sides and tried to pretend that she wasn’t naked and laying on a cold examination bed. A panel opened from the wall above her head, and a small metal arm protruded from it. A white head the size of a cell phone was attached to the end, and Chell noticed a flash of red laser from one end. “You may want to close your eyes. The light is pretty bright.” Chell winced, giving a jump as the laser flicked on. A wide beam of light traversed her body; she felt it – perhaps only mentally – move over her bare flesh with the tangible feeling like a gentle breeze. Within moments, it was over; the arm above her whirred back into its original position. Chell let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. “I need one more scan. You were moving.” The test subject gave a small growl, tilting her head backward to snarl at the camera. “Look, this isn’t exactly entertaining on my side, either. Just one more scan, and we’ll be done. You can go about your business, and we’ll never have to discuss this again.” Chell gave a lengthy sigh, shutting her eyes as the laser started once more. She tried her best to relax and keep still, not wanting a third examination. Once the light had left her eyes, she opened them, watching as the scanner ran its course. She impulsively shivered as the red line traced over the subtle mounds of her chest and down her ribcage. Fists clenched along with other, less obvious muscles as the laser continued downward, slowing to read the intricacies of her lower abdomen. As it reached the tips of her trembling toes it flicked off, giving a quiet whirr as the white head of it moved back downward. “Scanning complete.” The scanner drew back into the wall, panel sealing shut behind it. There was a pause before GLaDOS spoke again. “Hm. I hope you don’t mind if I make a few…substitutions? ” Chell sat up, looking slightly insulted. She quickly hopped off the table and pulled her clothes back on. “Merely aesthetic substitutions, of course,” GLaDOS continued. Chell rolled her eyes and waved her hand in a “whatever you please” manner. “Very well.” GLaDOS’s official tone was beginning to make Chell nervous, reminding her of her first misadventure through the facility. She rubbed the goosebumps from her arms, glaring heatedly at the camera on the wall. “You may go back to testing, if you wish.” She didn’t. For some reason, Chell felt like she needed a long shower. A few hours passed without interruption. Lying on her bed in her office-turned-bedroom, Chell idly flipped through the yellowed pages of a book she’d read already, half attentive, half wondering how GLaDOS was enjoying her new toy. She had no interest in exactly what GLaDOS was doing, as long as it relieved the desire for euphoria. Still, she was a little curious as to what the new body looked like, fearing that it would look too much like herself, hoping the project came out okay so she wouldn’t have to go through another terrible scan. She was suddenly alerted to a presence in the room. She bounced on her bed, twisting sharply to see who dared invade her territory, glare already present on her face as a warning. It took her a moment to remember – although she’d just been thinking about it – that GLaDOS had recently adopted a new form. The android stood in the doorway, uneasily leaning against the wall. Her skin was as white as the tiles of the scanning room, a cool shade of white that bordered on gray. She had thick black hair that spanned across her shoulders, mirroring the length of Chell’s own when unbound. Slender arms were crossed over a simple Aperture tank top, which hung loosely from her narrow shoulders. Chell could not see the curves of her chest through the tank top but was glad the AI had not tried to out-do her in bust size. It would have been simply embarrassing. Gray cloth shorts were the only other body covering, though they slumped to the side as if ill-fitting. She stood at least half a head taller than the test subject – which annoyed Chell greatly. Her face was quite unique, and it took Chell a moment to see it fully in the dim reading light of her room. She had a narrow chin and nose, with thin lips that were impatiently clasped together. Her almond-shaped eyes maintained the bright yellow of her original optic, and the tilt of them mimicked her most intimidating glare. In short, she looked pretty villainous, which amused Chell to no end. She shifted to sit up in her bed, tilting her head to ask what warranted the intrusion. “So. It seems there’s a problem.” The android body shifted nervously. Chell frowned. “When I try…things…myself, there doesn’t seem to be any response. I’m afraid more testing is needed. And you’re the only one here that I’d trust to do it.” Chell blinked quickly, nervously. She shook her head, if only slightly. GLaDOS glared. “Look, it’s your testing that puts me into this mess. Now I have a whole lot of internal pressure and no way to release it. The way I see it, this is your responsibility.” Chell stood up, crossed her arms, and huffed. She couldn’t outright deny her accountability. She just wasn’t sure if she was ready for…well, something of this caliber. “Plus,” GLaDOS added, “it’s entirely possible that, if this urging starts to build beyond what I can contain, I might be forced to kill you.” She stared at GLaDOS for a moment, tapping an impatient finger on her arm. Finally, she sighed and nodded her agreement. She motioned to a desk chair opposite her bed, and GLaDOS rather reluctantly sat down. Hands flat on her thighs, knees locked together as though glued, GLaDOS looked like a disgruntled schoolmarm. Chell rubbed her chin and sighed. This wasn’t going to be an easy task in the first place, and apparently GLaDOS had decided to make it more difficult. Chell noted with particular interest that the android’s eyes were firmly shut, as though she was flinching away from an expected blow. If any of this mess was going to be done, Chell was going to have to calm her down first. Since the android body had been scanned from Chell’s own, it made sense – at least to Chell – that the most sensitive places of her own body would be mirrored. Though GLaDOS had taken liberties with the details of the body, other things like nerve endings couldn’t be as easily adjusted. At least that’s what Chell counted on. Slowly, she reached out, her fingertips caressing the side of GLaDOS’s neck. The AI flinched but allowed the touch. So far, so good. As Chell’s fingertips dragged upward, GLaDOS gave a soft gasp. Her yellow eyes flashed open, and Chell could have sworn she felt the white skin twitch. GLaDOS wrenched her neck away. A brushing of gray flecked on her cheeks; Chell guessed this was the android equivalent of a blush. “What are you doing? I believe the focus here is on-” Chell put a finger to her lips, giving a brutal glare that silenced GLaDOS immediately. The AI seethed, crossing her arms over her chest. Chell clucked her tongue reproachfully, settling back to study the android. GLaDOS’s cheeks darkened gray in response, and she purposely avoided eye contact. It had been a long time, and Chell didn’t remember if she had ever been successful at these sort of things. She’d had a boyfriend or two, and there was a brief period of college experimentation with a close female friend – all now scattered fractions of memories thanks to her long sleep. She certainly remembered she was horrible at all of this for a particular reason she simply could not directly express to GLaDOS. She gave a long sigh, making GLaDOS’s yellow eyes shift to her briefly before looking away. Regardless, she had to try something. Her life may very well depend on it. Hesitantly, Chell leaned over, her face close to the AI’s. GLaDOS shied away slightly but not enough before Chell’s lips made contact with her neck. The sharp gasp from GLaDOS’s throat proved Chell’s ‘sensitive spot’ theory right. She placed another kiss above the first, directly below GLaDOS’s firm jawline. Cupping her other cheek with one hand, Chell felt the AI relax and sink a little lower in her chair. A line of kisses traced from where the jugular would have been, up to the narrow jaw, across the grayed, soft cheek, and finalizing directly onto GLaDOS’s thin lips. Chell could not have known the feelings GLaDOS was currently experiencing. A familiar friend in a different mask – the same but somehow different. Sparks of something like euphoria were spreading across her newly-minted body, starting from the soft, warm connection of Chell’s thick, pillowy lips and radiating outwards, downwards, into unfamiliar circuitry. Chell pulled away, but GLaDOS would have none of it. The murderous desire within her was too potent to be bottled, and too little had been released. She grabbed Chell by the back of the neck and roughly pressed their lips together for another try. The human jumped, surprised at the sudden aggressiveness but just as quickly eager for the kiss. Feeling Chell’s warm tongue on the outskirts of her lips, GLaDOS opened her mouth to receive it. They instantly began their dance: GLaDOS’s tongue as deft and quick as it had been in metaphor; Chell’s clumsily hastening to catch up. Chell finally jerked away, gasping in a much-needed breath. She felt the crimson rush around her cheeks and ears. GLaDOS licked her lips like a cat finishing a saucer. “I think I’m beginning to see your point to all this,” she purred, a smile growing on her lips. “I hope there’s more. I’d hate to be disappointed.” There was more than a hint of a threat to her voice, but Chell, who was used to these by now, merely rolled her eyes. She leaned down once more, giving a tender touch of her lips to GLaDOS’s neck. The AI tilted her neck to the side, closing her eyes as she exposed more of the sensitive skin. Chell steadied herself against the chair, working her mouth steadily against the warm flesh. She brushed her tongue briefly up towards the android’s ear, and GLaDOS let out a small yelp of delight. Chell found her eyes closing, the warm blindness of the maddening urge taking hold of her mind. It wouldn’t last long. Chell knew her limits. Regardless, she worked her way to GLaDOS’s ear. Setting her teeth gently on the earlobe elicited a slight moan from the android. Her tongue traced the outer edge, ending its course with a gentle stroke against GLaDOS’s cheek, followed by a quick kiss. GLaDOS desired her mouth again, and Chell agreed to give it. This time, GLaDOS’s darting tongue receded, allowing Chell to be the invader. Their teeth clicked mildly as Chell’s tongue explored the other’s mouth, only to be pressed and massaged by its host. GLaDOS gave a wanting moan, vibrating vocally across her tongue and into Chell’s, and little spikes of excitement pulsed through Chell’s body, landing somewhere in her stomach before melting away. She could do this all night. But she knew GLaDOS would want more. Pulling away from the kiss, she crouched down, planting suckling kisses along GLaDOS’s neck once again, taking as long as she could. Anything below the neck was certainly out of her area of expertise. After a few moments, GLaDOS’s moans started to fade, and Chell realized that there was no avoiding it. She let out a resigned sigh as she slipped one hand under the now-familiar Aperture-branded tank. Her fingertips had barely brushed the edge of soft flesh before GLaDOS drew back. “Wait,” GLaDOS said, pulling Chell’s hand away. “I think I know what you’re trying to do, but I have to interject on this. You humans and your Oedipal obsession with these…things…is already disturbing enough. I only made these additions in order to look more proportionate. Were it up to only me, I would have left them off entirely. So, let’s just skip that part, if that’s agreeable with you.” It was more than agreeable. Chell nodded vigorously, giving a relieved sigh. The sigh caught in her throat, however, as she realized there was only one last part of this ordeal. She felt her face heat up, and as though in response a gray smudge danced across GLaDOS’s cheeks up to her ears. Chell sat back on her heels, chewing her lip as she anxiously looked at GLaDOS’s still-locked knees. Her eyes flashed up to the AI’s, and in the narrow face she saw her own nervousness reflected. “I’m…not sure about this,” GLaDOS started quietly. Chell nodded slowly, grimacing. She gave another sigh as she brushed her fingers against GLaDOS’s stomach, feeling a drawing up underneath, as if the construct had actual muscles under the skin. Her fingers slid down, pulling hesitatingly at the hem of the gray shorts. She looked up at GLaDOS, almost questioningly. The AI’s brows were drawn up and together, corners of her mouth sloped downward, eyes wide and shining. In a word, she looked frightened. Chell couldn’t honestly blame her, since she was feeling the same emotion. It was somehow comforting to know the mighty AI was capable of such anxiety. She slid the hem down further, rolling the shorts across GLaDOS’s white thighs. The android made no attempt to defy or accept Chell’s actions. She merely sat, waiting, glancing down at Chell with that look. Chell removed the shorts, slipping them under GLaDOS’s feet and setting them neatly to the side. She reached up to grasp GLaDOS’s locked knees, but to her surprise – and, honestly, relief – GLaDOS was slowly sliding her legs apart. The yellow eyes had tightly shut though the look of fear still remained. Chell’s eyes widened. No, that wasn’t fear. It was…anticipation? Chell traced her fingertips from GLaDOS’s knees and across her thighs, struggling to remember where the sensitive points were on her own body. GLaDOS gave a pleasant shiver and spread her legs a little wider, revealing a soft, bare hill of flesh, a darker slit running down its middle. Above the slit, Chell saw a round, gray nub and recognized its function immediately. She drew her fingers along the smooth skin of the android’s thighs, leaving her palms to rest against their warmth. GLaDOS’s face tightened, and she gave the smallest of whimpers. Hesitantly, Chell drew her hand over, prodding the exposed button of simulated flesh with her index finger. GLaDOS jumped, giving an uncomfortable, pained noise, and Chell quickly pulled her hand away. “I-I think it’s too sensitive,” she groaned, grasping both sides of the chair. It took a second for her to collect her thoughts. “We’ll recess. I need to recalibrate it, so let’s – AHH!” Chell didn’t know what had come over her. Somehow she knew the touch of her mouth would be more gentle than her fingers, but she had barely expected to move so eagerly, so readily. Her lips clamped onto the soft, white skin of GLaDOS’s labia major, tongue lapping gently against the protruding nub. She felt the warm strength of GLaDOS’s thighs twitch and jolt under her palms. “You monster,” GLaDOS murmured. Chell felt the android’s stomach wall clench. GLaDOS was resisting. That wouldn’t do. The euphoria wouldn’t take effect that way. Chell’s hands slid smoothly across the android’s thighs and up her stomach. She retracted her tongue from the simulated clitoris, switching instead to a mild pull from her lips. GLaDOS’s stomach loosened, and she leaned back in the chair. The android’s breaths – unnecessary but still somehow involuntary – came out deep and trembling. She was beginning to focus now, and her white hands guided Chell’s up across her flat stomach and then back down to her thighs. Pulling her hands away and wrapping her arms around GLaDOS’s thighs, Chell shifted the android’s hips forward. GLaDOS gave a pleased moan, again gripping the sides of the chair. One leg tightened against the side of Chell’s neck, and Chell could feel the strong heel rubbing against her spine. The other leg fell rather loosely to the side, and Chell danced her fingertips along it until she reached the android’s center. Drawing her mouth away, she tentatively pressed a finger inward. GLaDOS lacked the natural lubricant, but the skin was still soft and slick and warm. The scan must have done some good; as far as Chell could ascertain, GLaDOS’s body was much like her own. Chell crooked her finger, pressing against the softer, spongy mass along the pelvic bone. GLaDOS clenched again, giving another yelp of discomfort. She shifted in the chair, and Chell quickly withdrew her hand. “N-no, that hurts…” Chell ran her hands along GLaDOS’s stomach once more until she unclenched. Moving one hand to stroke the white thigh of the loosened leg, Chell placed gentle kisses around her labia, as if to apologize for the unwelcome intrusion. Kisses turned to licks, and soon Chell’s mouth was once again comfortably reapplied against the sensitive flesh. She ran her tongue along the slit, parting the outer skin and delving her tongue into the warm flesh within. She half expected another outburst of pain, but GLaDOS instead gave a loud, shuddering moan. This was bearable, Chell thought as her tongue explored further. GLaDOS whimpered and writhed, digging her heel harder into Chell’s back, but it all seemed pretty bearable. In all honesty, Chell had never desired being with another woman – or, for that matter, another man. She knew the extent to which other humans took care of themselves, which wasn’t too much. Hairy. Smelly. Dirty. There were a variety of reasons not to pursue another human, even for the sake of carnal pleasure. GLaDOS, on the other hand. Her artificial body was pristine, new, elegant. She had no smell, no taste. Her flesh was merely a receptor for stimuli, and Chell found herself surprisingly eager to supply it. Above all, GLaDOS had surrendered to her. At any point in time, Chell might have found herself within the android’s grip. Those delicate hands of hers probably delivered a powerful squeeze. Yet, there was no fear that GLaDOS would make a move against her. Squirming with pleasure, albeit simulated, GLaDOS was completely under Chell’s control. A flash of a devious smirk interrupted her task. Chell moved, planting sucking kisses along GLaDOS’s thigh. “No,” GLaDOS panted. “No, keep going. I’m almost there.” Chell shot her a smirk, giving a gentle lick on the soft white thigh. GLaDOS’s eyes went wide at the expression in Chell’s eyes. The mute mouthed her desire in one word: Beg. “Y-you can’t make me! I won’t do it!” Chell gave an indifferent shrug. She closed in on the android’s center with her mouth, not touching but delivering a small burst of hot breath. GLaDOS tensed in anticipation and let out a small whimper when the promise was not fulfilled. “You won’t make me do it,” she gasped. Stroking the loosened thigh with the bare tips of her fingers, Chell rubbed her cheek against the other thigh. Her lips teasingly floated above the flesh, never making the very desperately wanted contact. GLaDOS cinched her eyes shut. The desire was coursing through every synapse and circuit of her being. Once teased, it was unstoppable, and she was coming to the unfortunate conclusion that she would have to do what Chell wanted. “Please,” she murmured artlessly through gritted teeth. Chell clicked her tongue and shook her head. GLaDOS groaned miserably. If only she could do this herself… “Please,” she began again, the sincerity losing its optionality as the itch made her whole body shudder. “Finish me. Please. You’re the only one that can. Please. I need it. I want it so badly. Please.” GLaDOS could have done with more begging, but she decided not to press the issue too far. After all, her life was practically on the line. Chell tentatively urged two fingers against the sensitive nub. GLaDOS jumped. “N-no, no. The way you were doing it before.” Then, as an afterthought, “Please, Chell?” She smirked, planting a line of kisses all the way to the center. GLaDOS let out a plethora of affirmatives, practically trembling with anticipation. This time, Chell delivered, plunging her tongue deep within the soft flesh. GLaDOS’s hips bucked forward as her back arched, and she let out a long, satisfied moan. Knowing the AI was far from finished, Chell thrust deeper, curving her tongue to press against the roughly-textured spongy bit once more. She heard the sound of light scraping as GLaDOS dug her fingernails into the bottom of the chair. “Yeah,” she moaned. Chell scooped the white thighs in her arms once more, spreading GLaDOS wider as her tongue danced along the sensitive spot. She felt the muscles constrict around her tongue, and she closed her eyes as the wild blindness took her over again. “Chell…” The name was a command. Chell removed her tongue, pressing it hard against the outer nub of flesh and wriggling it aggressively. GLaDOS leaned forward, giving a grunting cry at the alternate sensation. “Please, Chell…” She pulled the bit into her mouth, sucking it tenderly before resuming the ferocity of her pressing tongue. “Please, Chell!” GLaDOS was begging. Truly begging. Chell felt an odd pressure building in her chest. Her breaths became pants, and her entire focus devoted itself to setting off that explosive electricity she knew was gathering inside of GLaDOS. The android arched her back again. Her whole body relaxed against the chair, though Chell herself was tensing every muscle. “Please, cara mia…” With one final, hard stroke of the tongue, GLaDOS’s entire body tensed. Her thighs tightened around Chell’s shoulders so hard that the human thought she might be crushed. GLaDOS sang out, a rough cry of a note that pulsed from the android’s body and through Chell before fading into a quiet whisper. Chell stopped, pulling away, eager to greet her lover with a smile before she noticed something was terribly wrong. GLaDOS’s right shoulder was slack; her arm lopped down, fully limp. Her head lulled to the side, revealing that her right eye had lost its light and was now a dull gray. A strange, confused look had come over her white face, and Chell quickly shot up to catch her as she slumped to the side. “Reboot complete,” said a cheery male voice from somewhere in GLaDOS’s head. “Thank you for your patience!” Her bright yellow eyes slowly regained their glow, blinking once or twice out of instinct. She sat up slowly, her body stiff and pained from overexertion. The room came into focus, as did the dark-haired human staring boredly at her from the chair she’d previously occupied. She rubbed her head. “How…how long was I out?” Chell smirked at her, holding up two fingers. “Two…minutes?” Chell shook her head. “Hours?” The smirk widened. Another shake of the head. “…Days?” The mute nodded patiently. GLaDOS groaned. “I’ll add that to the list of things to calibrate, then. Well, the good news is that the urge is gone. I now have no desire to kill you.” Chell relaxed into a pleased smile. GLaDOS ruminated a moment, scratching at the back of her head before continuing. “Do I have an obligation to reciprocate?” It took Chell a small moment to understand what she was trying to say. The test subject’s cheeks reddened, and she shook her head vigorously. GLaDOS gave her a confused look. “Are you certain? What research I have indicates that both parties usually -” Chell gave a firm shake of her head, accompanied with an equally firm glare. “Very well.” She stood from the bed, wincing at her stiffened joints. “’Tiny Death’ indeed. I feel like you’ve murdered me all over again. Well, give me a while to recalibrate this body. After that, perhaps we can test again.” Chell blanched. Then, she thought for a moment. It…hadn’t been such a bad experience. GLaDOS certainly seemed to enjoy it, and as a bonus her own life had been spared. Perhaps another test could be arranged. She shot a grin to the android and nodded. “Great. See you in three hours.” She strolled out the door as if nothing had happened at all. Chell merely smiled to herself and rolled her eyes. Lifting herself off the chair, she started for the kitchen. She only had three hours, so she’d better get in as much energy as possible. After all, there was still lots of testing to do.
