-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morgana sat in bottom lane grumbling to no one in particular. It wasn't because of middle lane being taken from her, or that it was by a little blue fish. The reason she was pissed off was who she was in lane with. The one person she hated the most, the one being that she loathed the most stood in front of her. Her golden armor shining in the daylight, the red hues reminding her of that faithful day of when she was cast down by her sibling. Morgana and her dear older sister Kayle stood in silence, none making eye contact. Or even any movement to direct the others attention, Morgana’s eyes however where glued to the all too familiar rear of her older sister. "Thirty seconds until minions spawn." Kayle stretched her wings and with practiced easy, she took to the sky. Memories flooded of days when the two where on far better terms. The same feelings she had then started to rear their ugly head, her mind swirled of what ifs and maybes. With a shake of her head she banished the thoughts. "Try to stay safe dear sister." Morgana spat. Kayle however, remained silent. Even under the hate filled glare of her younger sister. "Minions have spawned!" Morgana readied herself, she did not know who she was going up against but she knew she couldn't count on her sister. She loathed the blue fish for taking the middle lane even though she was far more suited for it than he. When the minion wave came she followed staying back with the caster minions to inspect who she was up against. Kayle was in front striking down the melee minions who stood in her path. How she yearned to watch her die by her hand. Her attention was drawn back into the battle by an ax landing just to the right of her. “Olaf?!” She thought to herself, cringing at the thought of the berserker tearing through her. As if to answer her question the berserker came charging at her from the bush just to her left, screaming his challenge. She also saw Ashe behind him, readying an arrow and taking aim at her. Without warning Kayle crashed into Olaf, golden steal clashing with gray. Morgana knew that the fight was lost, Olaf was far too strong and it didn't help that Ashe was taking pot shots at her as well. She threw her tormented soil in between Kayle and the offending party. She didn't look back as she ran for the safety of the turret. When she reached its safe purple light she turned reading another tormented soil for whichever fool dared. However she found Kayle trading blows with Ashe, her golden sword alight with righteous fire. She knew how it felt to be under that assault, her wings bearing the story for all to see. Morgana marched back into the fight, not wanting to be out shined by her older sibling. The fight was surprisingly easy, Kayle's ability to fight off Olaf and harass Ashe combined with Morgana's abilities guaranteed the day to be long for their enemies. However, it did not seem to be going so while for her allies. They seemed to be losing fights with faster and faster rates. But as the game progressed, Kayle never left Morgana's side which gave her a surprising ease about things. Even if she was badly wounded however Kayle did not retreat. "Kayle!" Morgana shouted, the fighting proved to be loud with their turret firing off shots at the enemy minions. They had been pushed back thanks to Shyvana, who lunged out of the river in her dragon form. But thanks to a combination of snares and writhing fire they had been able to retreat back to the turret, at the cost of Kayle being badly wounded again. "Go back to the base and heal already! Why you are staying is beyond me." Morgana screamed, throwing down a tormented soil to keep Olaf from diving and killing her sibling. "I'm fine!" Kayle shouted back, throwing herself into the fray once more. Morgana cursed, why was her sibling being so stupid? Why wasn’t she leaving? Did she honestly think that she was better then her? She thought to herself. Why do I even care? That question however, was one that would stick with her through the whole battle. Shyvana would make scarce appearance’s from then on, choosing to instead focus her intentions onto Fizz or Jax. It proved to be the right move as soon Fizz was pushed out of his lane leaving Annie all to herself and destroying Jax’s turret. Morgana and Kayle however where fairing just fine. Morgana soon started to realize that their ability’s seemed to match. Her dark bindings and tormented soil combined with Kayle’s reckoning and righteous fury destroyed any target that dared to challenge the two siblings. So they were able to destroy their enemy’s turret, but it still took longer than Morgana had hoped. She started to teleport back to base, the sounds of battle distant but the presence of Kayle far more comforting. They both reemerged back in their base, Kayle set about buying her things quickly and started to depart. “I’m going to help Fizz…” Kayle said over her shoulder. With a short delay as if to allow Morgana to stop her, Kayle took off. “What do I care….” Morgana whispered to herself. “…You’ve always left me.” With her items purchased she marched back into her lane. Anger, self-pity and a whole host of feelings flooding into her mind. Fighting off Olaf and Ashe by herself was extremely hard which was made even harder by the fact that her mind was filled with thoughts of Kayle. The scream of Shyvana as she turned into a dragon and flung herself at her cleared her mind however and the fight for her life insured. She cursed herself and her damn sister! Herself for thinking of such a fool at a time like this and Kayle for occupying her mind! She was dead, she knew it. There was no way that she could survive, so as Shyvana cornered her and reared up to strike Morgana closed her eyes. When she felt no blow she opened them, a golden light enveloping her in its protective aura. Kayle had saved her again and was fighting off the half-dragon with all her might. Without thinking Morgana tossed a dark binding out at Shyvana as she tried to run catching her and holding her in place. Kayle then descended upon the half-dragon, her health being withered away by the tower. However as Kayle charged for the finally blow Ashe, who was now appearing from the bush readied an arrow, one that grew in size. Again without thinking Morgana threw Kayle her black shield, knowing full well that they both would be hit. The pain seethed through Morgana as the ice arrow crashed into her sister. The shield held strong, but as Ashe retreated under Kayle’s fire Olaf charged past her making a run for Morgana. Olaf threw his ax and hit Morgana dead center. But before the ax could cleave her flesh an empowering light appeared around Morgana healing most of the damage done the second it was done. However the blow still left her gravely wounded. Not to let such things go unpunished however Morgana, with the last of her mana tossed out another dark binding snaring the berserker in place. Kayle charged him, gold once again clashing with gray. Under fire from Kayle’s turret Olaf didn’t last very long, but he did leave his mark badly wounding Kayle as he died. In silence they both departed for the base but Morgana had words to share with her dear sister. “Are you stupid?!” Morgana shouted, grabbing her items in a hurry. “Excuse me?” Kayle answered, now looking at her younger sibling who avoided the eye contact. “You could have killed Shyvana and Ashe if you didn’t save me.” Morgana spat, suddenly forgetting what she was looking for. “I choose to save you instead.” Kayle’s response was calm, cool and held no hint of anger. It made Morgana’s blood boil. “You choose to save me…” Morgana mocked. “…that’s a laugh.” Morgana grabbed her items and left charging the middle looking for something to kill. Kayle called out to her but she would not hear it, Morgana’s mind already dizzy with emotions she didn’t care to put names to. A combined effort of Morgana, Kayle and Lee sin pushed the enemy party, which consisted of Annie, Shyvana, Ashe and Olaf back to their turret. However what little victory this was soon was crushed as Renekton fell upon Lee sin crushing him an a few short seconds. In short work, Kayle and Morgana began to retreat. Once again the synergy they both seemed to share was brought to light as a combination of snare’s, shields and heals kept them alive long enough for Fizz and Jax to show. It didn’t help, they fell just as fast but that did give Kayle and Morgana enough time to run back to the safety of their base. Morgana couldn’t believe what she was feeling. Her anger, her rage, things that defined her relationship with her older sister where giving away to other feelings she could only remember. She wanted desperately to hate Kayle, to be on the other team and watch as she was killed over and over again. But she only felt contentment and gratitude for her older sibling. Time and time again Kayle proved to be someone she could rely on, even sacrificing herself on occasions that deemed such action. “The Purple team’s inhibitor has been destroyed!” Kayle started to move forward off the safety of the summoning platform. However Morganas hand upon her wrist halted her advance. “It’s useless Kayle, they have won.” Morgana said not looking at Kayle’s face. She knew saying such things to her would be useless… again why did she even care? “That may be so…” Kayle said as she gentle took her wrist back. “…But I will not so easily surrender.” “I didn’t surrender!” Morgana shot back. Her anger now flowing from her lips, however it tasted different. “I… I didn’t mean th-“ “The Blue team as destroyed a turret” A finally look over her shoulder was all Morgana needed to see, knowing that Kayle’s mind was made and that not one word from her would change that. “Forgive me…” Kayle whispered as she charged into battle. The words stunned Morgana as she watched her older sister return to battle only to fall defending the last turret. The blue team had won but as they destroyed her nexus Morgana could only look upon her sister’s body. Something that she had seen over and over now seemed so unreal. Not even the explosion of the nexus could take her eyes off Kayle’s corpse. “That fool” She thought to herself a lone tear slowly making its way down the side of her face. With the matches end Morgana was transported into a lone room, thoughts of Kayle occupying her mind. She clenched her fists in anger and screamed Kayle’s name. She stood there, heaving in anger but willowing in sorrow. “Why?” she kept thinking to herself. “Why are these feelings coming back? Why couldn’t I be on the opposite team? Why did I have to fight next to her instead of against her!” these questions echoed off the halls of her mind, calling forth memories of her childhood and of her deep love for her sister. “She wouldn’t even understand.” Morgana mocked aloud, tears slowly falling from her eyes. “Kayle you mean?” Morgana spun to face the intruder. Anger now seething from her purple eyes, which promised death to those who looked upon them. “What are you doing here?” Morgana shouted at the other occupant. “I’ve come to talk to you.” Soraka said as so slowly walked forward, her hooves echoing off the walls. “You seemed distressed.” She continued, now standing in front of Morgana. “And what would you know?” Morgana shot back, her words dripping with poison. “You know…” Soraka said ignoring Morgana’s words and glares. “…you and your sister remind me of a certain pair of brothers.” “Do you know of them?” Soraka asked one arm across her chest the other one placed upon her chin in a thoughtful manner. Morgana took a deep breath; she couldn’t let her anger overcome her. What good would it of done? A whole lot of nothing, so instead she just took to walking past the star child completely ignoring her. “I had a talk with Kayle…” Morgana stopped at Soraka’s words. “…We had a long talk in fact.” Soraka continued knowing she had Morgana’s full attention. “About you.” “What about me?” Morgana demanded, anger once again contorting her frame. “What do you care?” Soraka added turning to face Morgana as she in turn faced her. “What about me!” Morgana repeated anger fuming off her words. “How dare them!” she thought. “Just like Kayle to go behind my back and plot! This was all a trick! This was just to get my guard down so she could kill me!” “Don’t get the wrong idea…” Soraka slowly said her eyes looking upon her as a mother would a child. “…I came to her first.” “For what?!?” Morgana shouted. “So you could laugh at our family? So you could have a story to tell your friends? Or did you just want to feel all holy again?” Her words where dripping with venom but it did not seem to phase Soraka one bit. “No Morgana…” Soraka’s tone didn’t change, the fact that she seemed to be so indifferent to her words made Morgana even angrier “Do you know of Nasus and Renekton?” “They are brothers as you and Kayle are sisters.” Soraka added noticing Morgana wasn’t going to answer her. “What does this have to do with me and Kayle?” Morgana sighed, her anger subsiding to that of annoyance. “Do you not see the resemblance? They both try to kill each other as you and your sister do.” Soraka’s voice held a twinge of regret. “Yet they were loving brothers before, as I’m sure you and your sister once where. Renekton defended Nasus from the evil of their land and Nasus taught the people of their land of wisdom. However Renekton soon grew weary of all the evil he had to face and pleaded with Nasus for them to switch. Nasus blinded by his role, could not see how much his dear brother needed his help.” As Soraka told the story of the two warring brothers Morgana started to understand. They seemed more and more like her and Kayle. “Soon rage over took Renekton, as the evil had tainted his mind and drove him insane. When Nasus finally saw the plight of his brother it was far too late, the madness of his rage burning all that stood before him. So with a heavy heart Nasus fought his brother, knowing full well that if he did not defeat him, Renekton would kill all the people he once defended.” Soraka took to staring at the floor, unable to look Morgana in the eye. “And?” Morgana asked, not knowing why the start child would bring up such a story. “I told your sister the same story. She too held the same look you do now. You and your sister still can be saved, if you would only try.” Soraka said as she placed her hands on Morganas shoulder. “Kayle would never…” Morgana’s eyes diverted to the wall at her right. “…no. She’s too much of a bigot!” “I told that story to Kayle over a year ago. Since then I’ve talked to her about you on numerous occasions. She shares the same fears as you.” Soraka reassured her. “Fears! I have no fears when it comes to that woman!” Morgana shouted. Soraka only smiled at her, patting her shoulder she walked past her. “Where are you going?!” Morgana called after. “I have a match to get to, but if you wish to speak about this more I can be found in my chambers or in Ionia. Or…” Soraka said with a smirk “you could always talk to your sister.” With that the star child left leaving Morgana with her thoughts. Morgana did not stay, she had returned to her chamber thoughts of her sister clouding her mind and plaguing her thoughts. She passed back and forth thoughts of what Kayle would say if she even attempted any sort of connection. “She was the one who disowned her! Why would she”- A knock at the door broke her thinking. She pushed past her dimly light living courters packed with dusty closed books and ones open but forgotten. “Who is it now?” Morgana wondered aloud as she flung to door open only to see Kayle in a dark blue cloth version of her regular armor. A blue hood covered her beautiful blond hair and striking blue eyes. “Wh.. what are you doing here?” Morgana managed to stammer out. “Soraka had told me you had need of me?” Kayle’s voice was low, almost submissive. “…Soraka?” Morgana repeated dumfounded. “Yes… Do you have need of me or not?” Kayle’s voice was a mixture of agitation and something else Morgana couldn’t quite figure out. “Soraka’s in a match…” Morgana slowly said, more of a question then a statement. “No, she knocked on my chambers and told me you had need of me?” Kayle was many things, but a blatant lair wasn’t one of them. “I see…” Kayle sighed, realizing the trick the star child had pulled. “Forgive me… I’ll leave.” “Ka-“Before Morgana could finish her sentence the call for battle ringed in her head. “I’m being called for battle.” Kayle said quickly walking away. Morgana stood in her doorway, watching Kayle’s rear sway this way and that. She only noticed how fast her heart was beating when Kayle had left her sight and the pain of regret of her departing. She walked down the hallway after her sister when she closed her room’s door. A slight hope of fighting alongside her sister again started to swell in her breast. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
