It was one thing to talk about heat, and another to feel it. He wasn't obvious to the fact that it would be scorching hot in Africa, but he wasn't prepared for it either. It wasn't as if the Humvee had air conditioning, and the sun was relentlessly burning at his skin, making it uncomfortable to sit in his own skin. Though, perhaps it was better then freezing to death. The BSAA operative turned into the small village, that was bustling with life with the local populous. A savanna covered the local landscape around, the buildings of the town consisting of shrewed sheets of dimly colored metal, giving the feeling of a very backwards civilization compared to a metropolis like New York City. Chris exited his tan camouflaged vehicle, taking a better look at his surroundings as he did. He surveyed the various bystanders and people going along there business. There was a huge nationality barrier, and a racial one as well. Even though he was here to protect these people from Bio-terrorists, he felt uneasy about his presence here. No one wanted him here, and he didn't want to be here. But this was the only lead he had on anything from Umbrella since the Spencer Estate. He wasn't about to let it go because it wasn't in his comfort zone. Chris did have the benefit of meeting up with another BSAA member, however. He quickly moved to the back seat of the vehicle, pulling the door open to grab his equipment as footsteps approached him.
"Welcome to Africa."
Chris swiftly turned around, just as the African BSAA operative smiled for a moment, then began introducing herself as Chris shut the door of the Humvee. "My name is Sheva Alomar." Sheva then shook hands with the male, as he gave Shave his name.
"Chris Redfield." He was happy to have someone from the area, that spoke the language. It made it that much more easier to do his job.
"Your reputation proceeds you, Mr. Redfield. It's an honor." Her brow raised slightly as she finished the sentence, a smile returning to her face. It seems as though someone recognized him for his work against Umbrella.
"Just Chris, thanks." He paused for a moment, his thoughts returning to the mission. "So you'll be accompanying me to the destination?"
Sheva responded quickly, assumingly eager to get on with the assignment. "Yes. Tensions are running high ever since the change in government."
"I'll bet, intel says it's a haven for terrorists now."
"And they're not going to be happy to see an American, BSAA or not." Chris already knew that, and he had only been in Africa for a few hours. "That's why I'm your partner; help put them at ease."
Chris gave Sheva an encouraging smile. "I'm sure you'll do just fine..."
She nodded softly, and turned to her left, heading in the direction of the meeting. Chris paused for a moment, memories flooding into his mind as he whispered to himself. "Partner..."
Slowly, smoothly, each individual finger raked it's way through her hair, a comforting hand moved it's way up her spine as he slowly laid her down on a maroon sheeted bed, the soft, silk clothe hugging her naked back. His lips moved from her luscious, plump mouth to the crook in her neck, his tongue softly pushing it's way around her skin. She tore at his warm, welcoming body, feeling every inch and curve of his chest.
"Oh, Chris..."
Sheva paused, noticing that Chris wasn't following her. She turned to look at him, noticing that he was quite distant. "You Ok?"
He snapped back into reality once he heard Sheva's voice. Chris blinked several times, blocking the memories out of his head. "Yeah, sorry... it's nothing. Let's go."
The two then began a short walk through the village, the inhabitants steering clear of the outsider as the duo made their way to the meeting spot. The sun was as punishing as ever, but the light weathered American did find solace in the few cool winds and shadows cast by the tawdry buildings. But as the moved more and more forward, Chris could notice a barb wired fence guarding a perimeter, one that stood directly in their path. As they approached a gate, a heavily armed African approached them, and Sheva motioned for Chris to stick behind her. The black man eyed the female for a few moments, then swiftly patted her down from arms to hips, in which Sheva shoved the invading hands off of her, but was interrupted by Chris before she could voice her displeasure.
"Hey, keep your hands off of her!" Chris glared at the armed man, and the guard shifted his attention to the American.
"Is this your property? Because I don't see your name on her." He smirked and chuckled for a moment, as if his attempt to defend Sheva was laughable.
"She isn't anybodies-" That was when Sheva cut off Chris's bravado speech and interjected, "He's my husband."
The armed man stared at Sheva questioningly, not convinced in the least bit. "Prove it."
Sheva was not prepared for this eventuality, but one eye flicker to the various snipers on the walls, and a reminder that they were unarmed, and she did not hesitate to pull on Chris's wrist, and wrap her arm around his neck to pull him into a quick, but rough kiss. Chris was more then baffled, ready to strangle this man, and Sheva was trying to reason with him.
He laughed very shortly. "Ha, that's supposed to convince me that your married?"
Chris then got a glance of the men on the walls, and the others inside the outpost the armed African had come from. He quickly realized that they weren't going to win that fight, and as Sheva tried to make the surprise embrace more passionate, he focused on the marriage facade. The male placed a hand lightly on Sheva's rump, and she rubbed her hand on his chest. After a few more seconds of the increasingly graphic show of affection, the man gave up.
"Alright, you can go."
Sheva took a few seconds to pull away, and Chris was still quite shell shocked even as his hands removed themselves from the females body, and he followed her deeper into the village.
Once they were successfully past the guard, and into the walled off part of town, Sheva turned around and waved her arms up furiously in the air. "Chris! You almost got both of us killed!"
Chris took a moment to respond, his mind recovering. "I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me." The female was quick to cut him off.
"Just let me do the talking next time, ok?!"
The male nodded, and Sheva paused before continuing to lead him through the village, making sure to be extra vigilant now that it seemed Chris lacked espionage tactics.
This is the famed Chris Redfield. He's going to have to do a lot to impress me. But he certainly does know how to kiss.. The thoughts roamed around in Sheva's mind for but a moment, before she was focused on the task at hand.
It had been so long since Jill died, and Chris hadn't even met another woman until now. He was confused, but he didn't exactly dislike the mistake he had made.
