A New Hero Is Found.
Fable : Fall of the Guild
Hundreds of years ago, in the land of Albion, there existed a phenomena known as "Heroes". These extraordinarily gifted individuals had the power to rule the land, some particularly powerful ones even had the capabilities of changing and shaping the world as they saw fit, but fortunately, many of these powerful men and women belonged to the aptly named "Heroes' Guild". The Guild stood to champion all facets of Albion's people, even it's less scrupulous folk.
Not too long ago, a revolt was led within the Heroes' Guild by a pair of Heroes named Maze and Weaver. Before their revolt, Heroes had been forced into standing for nothing but good, to do as all ordinary people asked them to unless it was gravely wrong, to stand for everything that was right and to strike a blow against injustice whenever they saw it. Maze and Weaver felt this was wrong and, fuelled by a belief that Heroes should be allowed to choose their own personal morality, led their revolt and successfully took control of the Guild. Thanks to their efforts, Heroes felt less like caged animals, feeling much more liberty within their lives. Many Heroes chose to remain champions of good. Neutrality was also a choice, and was a surprisingly popular one, at that. Of course, there were those that chose evil, as well...This, obviously, led to many problems with ordinary folk.
A great many Heroes perished during the revolt led by Maze and Weaver, and so the Guild was desperate for apprentices. Many Heroes quickly found that their primary duties were suddenly changed, going from taking Quest Cards to finding individuals out in Albion that had Heroic blood, but simply didn't realize it. There are several qualities that define one as a Hero above the simple commoner, but the most easily visible are the Three Heroic Talents. They are known as Strength, Skill, and the Will.
Strength was the way of brute physical power, the ability to wield massive weapons in combat as well as one's physical fortitude. Skill was the path of blinding speed with whatever weapon one chose, their accuracy to strike an enemy from afar with a ranged weapon, as well as stealthier abilities most others couldn't realize. The way of the Will was the use of magic fuelled by mana, including bolts of lightning, intense jets of roaring flames, and many other forms of magic, both beautiful and horrifying to behold.
No Hero was able to choose which Talent they wanted based on preference; whatever their blood held for them, that was where their prowess lay. Although it was possible for a Hero to be proficient in more than one Talent, these figures were as rare among Heroes as Heroes were among regular folk, for they belonged to a special lineage dating back to the rulers of the Old Kingdom.
This tale is a detailing of the final days of the Heroes' Guild in the years leading up to the invention of the firearm, following the events from the perspectives of a handful of Heroes both young and old, fledgling and experienced.
Timoteo was born in the veritable metropolis of Dattebayo, a city many miles to the east of the Heroes' Guild, nestled by the great mountains. Although being so very far from the Guild, the city was not beyond the reach of the Heroes, and every once in a while a Hero could be seen in the city streets, working on a Quest Card or two or perhaps simply spending leisure time. Timoteo lived in an average home with his mother and father as well as an older brother, Timoteo being the baby of the family. For now, at the beginning of our tale, Timoteo is only ten years old. Outside playing with some friends, he ran around in a dirty field by one of the city's crude playgrounds. "Tim's it, Tim's it!"
One of the other boys cried out. "Not for long!" Timoteo muttered with determination. Timoteo was a boy of average height for his age, a mess of mousey brown hair on his head. His eyes were a light brown bordering on gold, like sweet honey. His skin was light and fair. He was wearing a simple shirt that had been a hand-me-down from his older brother, the shirt being very plain and uninteresting, made entirely of gray fabric. He wore pants made of thick dark fabric, white stripes going down the sides of his legs. He had plain brown shoes on, laced up loosely. Spotting a boy nearby, he got ready to move. The boy was taunting him, sauntering on over to him in an attempt to get him to run after him, the boy figuring he'd be able to outrun Timoteo and make him look a fool.
Timoteo wasn't the fastest runner alive, but if he was annoyed, you could be sure that his determination would add wings to his feet. Sprinting after the boy who had been walking over, the boy let out a whoop and began to race away. "Get 'em, Tim!" One of his friends cried. Timoteo was beginning to run out of steam after a minute or two of chasing after the boy. In desperation, he dove for the boy's legs, grabbing his limbs. The two of them fell to the ground in a heavy jumble, raising up a cloud of dust from the dirt ground.
"Got ya!" Timoteo said loudly. "Ow, Tim, you crazy bugger, let me go!" The boy said. Timoteo got up from the boy, grinning, quickly jogging away, panting softly. Just then, another boy came racing over from the top of a hill. "Guys, guys! Come quick! There's a Hero coming through the streets!" Surprised murmurs rose up among the crowd of playing children. Timoteo, too, was filled with curiosity. They all quickly ran over to the hill, climbing it's size in hardly a few seconds. They saw a small road nearby, several houses on either side of it. Down in the street, they saw a single figure walking along slowly. It was a tall man dressed in a sort of light gray leather outfit with several metal plates fashioned over various parts of his body.
A long, slender sword was kept sheathed by his left hip, the sheath attached to his belt. Hanging over his back was a large bow as well as a quiver of arrows. His hair was light blonde, mostly smoothed and combed back. His skin was light and creamy. Timoteo looked to the man with fascination. He had a dignified air about him as he confidently strode along the dirt path, almost like he were some kind of royalty on a visit. Everyone watched as the man walked along the path, eventually disappearing behind from view behind a house.
"I wonder what he's here for?" One of the boys pondered aloud. Timoteo glanced to the sky. The sun was past it's zenith and was beginning to fall in the sky, turning it golden; his mother would be expecting him at home at that time. "I've gotta get home guys, my mom said she wanted me home by around now so I could run and get some groceries for her." Everyone said their farewells, Timoteo running on his way, heading for home.
Alternating between jogging and walking, Timoteo only took about ten minutes to get home. His home was just a little building in a poor neighbourhood by the outskirts of the city, his home made of planks of wood and fillings of hay. Most other houses in the neighbourhood he resided within looked the same way. The buildings near the interior of the city were made of brick, and so were much better at insulating heat and standing up to any rough elements. Stepping up to the wooden door, he raised a hand and turned the brass knob, pushing the door open a little. Stepping inside, he was instantly facing his mother. "Oh, there you are, Tim. I was just about to call for you."
To Timoteo, his mother was the prettiest woman in the whole wide world. Dressed in a nice white apron with a pink shirt as well as a light blue skirt on underneath, her hands were a little white with flour, it being evident that she had just come from the kitchen. Her hair was brown and thick, reaching down to her shoulders in beautifully wavy locks, going over and covering her ears. Her eyes a beautiful blue, her lips were plump and rosy. The apron she was wearing couldn't hide her healthy bust or shapely hips. Tim walked up to his mother with a smile. "Want me to go get the groceries now, mum?" He asked. His mother nodded with a sweet smile. She quickly walked into the nearby kitchen, coming back to him a second later.
Handing him a handful of gold coins, he slipped them into his pocket. She handed him a slip of paper with some writing on it, his mother saying "Now, Tim, that's the grocery list. Don't lose it, okay? If there's any gold left after you buy that all, you can get yourself some candy, okay?" He nodded, tucking the piece of paper into the other pocket on his pants. His mother gave him another sweet smile, getting down to a knee, raising a hand to Timoteo's face. Rubbing a thumb against his right cheek, she said "You're filthy, you're definitely going to need a good bath when you get back..."
Timoteo softly said "Okay..." His mother raised her hand to his forehead, clearing away his bangs. Leaning closer, she pressed a kiss to his forehead, a moment later affectionately saying "Be careful. Now get going." Timoteo nodded with a smile, a moment later turning around and quickly walking through the still-open doorway. His mother watched him leave from the doorway for a few moments, still smiling a little as she eventually closed the door.
It took Timoteo nearly an hour to get down near the interior of the city to get to the market. Stalls filled with weapons, clothing and armour, produce, and other miscellaneous were set up all around. Approaching the man running a very large and popular stall selling produce and baked goods, he handed the man his mother's list as well as the gold coins she had given him, the man preparing a big bag for Timoteo to carry. Timoteo didn't watch the man as he packed the paper bag, Timoteo having been distracted by a loud buzz developing over towards his right. Looking over, his eyes widened a little when he noticed the Hero from before to be walking through the market.
Timoteo barely caught glances of the man, a large crowd of what must have been fans developing around the Hero. Suddenly, the man running the stall got Timoteo's attention with a few words, Timoteo looking over with his eyes slowly relaxing. He grabbed the big bag of groceries in his arms, disappointed to see that there wasn't any change. Slowly, he began to trod home. When he had gotten around three quarters of the way home, it was already getting close to night, being pretty late. Timoteo knew his mother and father would be upset with him for being so late, but Timoteo couldn't help but drag his heels as he walked along.
A long arm suddenly shot out of the darkness of a nearby alley, a hand firmly coming down over Timoteo's mouth. His eyes went wide as he suddenly saw another arm come around him, this second one brandishing a small shimmering dagger. "What have you got there, my lad?" A man's hissing voice sounded out from Timoteo's right side. A moment later, the man said "Ahh, groceries...Been a while since I last ate. Drop the bag, boy." Timoteo was terrified. Not knowing what else to do, he dropped the bag of groceries. The man spun the dagger around in his hand, now gripping it with the blade pointed downwards, towards Timoteo's chest. "Bye bye, sweetheart." The man said calmly.
Timoteo's eyes widened even more as he saw the man raise his knife quickly. Timoteo's heart was pounding in his chest. Adrenaline was truly flooding him for the first time. Was this man really going to stab him, to end him, leave him in a puddle of his own blood? The man had to be joking, right? The man's hand began to fly down towards Timoteo's chest. He wasn't joking! Timoteo shut his eyes and let out a muffled cry against his attacker's hand, not knowing what to do. He felt a dull thud against his chest, the man's hand suddenly disappearing from his mouth. "What in Skorm's name is this?!" He heard the man hiss angrily.
Timoteo had his eyes shut tight. He felt another few dull thuds against his chest. Opening his eyes, he saw the man's dagger still over his chest, but something was different about Timoteo now. His body had a faint coating of some sort of light all around it, his aura almost being visible, acting as some sort of shield. Timoteo was dumbfounded. Had he done that? The man raised his knife, attempting to stab into Timoteo's chest, but the end of his blade simply bounced off of the strange shield protecting the boy. A moment later, running footsteps approached from behind. The mysterious figure from the alley raced away.
Just as the footsteps reached Timoteo, he felt an intense rush of blood to his head, a gasp coming from him as he weakly fell to his knees. The shimmering barrier around him faded. "Ah, I knew I'd find another Hero around here if I really looked." He heard a man say. Turning his head around slightly, Timoteo blearily saw the Hero he had spotted twice before. "Physical Shield, eh? Looks like you're a Will user. Always nice to have more mages. Where do you live, son? I'll take you home, I need to have a chat with your mum and dad." Timoteo weakly rhymed off his home address before suddenly everything around him went dark.
"...Alright, he's just drained of mana..." "...He wake?..." "...Yes, eventually..." "...Mana, he's a..." "...Believe so..."
Words came fuzzily to Timoteo's ears. He felt the warm and familiar comfort of his bed's sheets all around him, his pillow against the side of his head. Thinking he might've simply been dreaming, he rolled over on to his other side, letting out a sigh through his nose. "I think he's waking up..." He heard his mother say softly. It sounded like she was just outside the door of Timoteo's room. "Tim?" He heard his father say. Timoteo was a little surprised. His mother always called him "Tim"; his father always called him by his full name. It reflected his relationships he had with them. His mother he loved, but his father he respected.
He raised his head, looking over quietly. "He's awake..." She said, looking over to the side with a concerned face. The door to his room was opened only slightly, light pouring through the crack. He saw his mother to be standing there, lightly pushing open the door a moment later. He watched her as she walked in, his father close behind her. His father was dressed in a carpenter's uniform, his hair shaggy and brown, his eyes a dark shade of brown. Timoteo's eyes were a cross between the two; his mother's blue had lightened his father's dark brown, creating the light brown that Timoteo had. His mother walked over and sat down on the edge of his bed, near his legs. His father remained standing. "We need to talk to you about something, Timoteo." His father said.
As Timoteo began to sit up in bed, his mother grabbed him in a protective hug, worriedly saying "Thank Avo you're alright!" Timoteo smiled a little, hugging his mother back. Looking past his mother's hair, he saw the Hero from before to be standing in the doorway to Timoteo's room. He and the man locked eyes for a moment, Timoteo quickly looking away, feeling rather intimidated by the strength in the man's eyes. His mother slowly released him a second later, giving him a kiss on his forehead. "Tim, this man...He says he thinks you're a Hero." His father suddenly asked "Did you really protect yourself from a thief by casting magic?" Timoteo thought about what had happened.
"I d-don't know, all I remember is closing my eyes as the man from the alley tried to stab me. Next thing I knew, I had this weird glowing stuff all around me. The man couldn't stab through it." "Physical Shield. It's a rather popular spell with Bright Will users. It protects the body from harm, but only for as long as the mage's mana can sustain. Tim most likely fell asleep because his mana had been temporarily drained entirely." Timoteo, his mother, and his father all looked over to the Hero as he spoke. When the man finished speaking, his mother and father looked back to Timoteo. "Tim, this man, he...He wants to take you to the Heroes' Guild. There, you'll be taught about Heroes, and...And how to use more Will. Your father and I talked about it, and...We think it might be good for you."
Timoteo's father nodded, Timoteo looking over to him. "There's been a shortage of Heroes ever since that fiend Jack of Blades tried attacking the Guild. But you won't just learn about Heroes...You'll learn about the same stuff that's in the higher-class schools. It'd be good for you." Timoteo softly asked "How long would I be gone for?" The Hero spoke up then. "The training and education will likely last until...Hmm, let's see...You're ten right now, correct?" Timoteo nodded lightly. The Hero placed his hands on his hips as he said "It'll last you until you're eighteen. Eight years." Timoteo's eyes widened. "Eight years? Will I ever see my mother or father or friends during that time?"
The Hero shook his head. "I'm sorry, but no...Once you're in the Guild, you're not permitted to leave until your training and education is finished. Before that, you won't be able to leave. Your parents could come and visit you though, maybe your friends, too." His mother and father glanced at each other. They both knew the answer to that. The Guild was much too far for them to make the trip on foot, and it would cost far too much money to try and get the services of a horse-drawn carriage. His mother smiled at him apologetically. "Tim...The Guild is too far for us to get to...And I'm sure you'll make new friends in the Guild. It'll be okay." Tim hung his head down, his eyes growing watery.
His reaction was not typical of him, and his parents knew that. Hugging him, his mother attempted to comfort and nurture him, speaking soothingly to him. After several minutes, Timoteo agreed to their words with just a simple nod, but he was hiding his true feelings. He didn't want to go. He wanted to stay right where he was, forget all about what had happened during that day, forget that he had ever seen that Hero while on the hill with his friends. But, he found that saying that would do no good, that his parents would be disappointed in him. And so, nodding gently, his mother gave him one more tight hug, his father reaching over and ruffling up some of his hair affectionately.
They left his room then, the Hero stepping in to replace them. Walking over to the bed, he got down on a knee by it. Timoteo looked to the Hero as he pulled his sheets from his body. He was still in the clothes he had worn earlier. "I know this might be tough on you, little man. It'll probably be tough for a while. But the Guild is a nice place, it's safe, and believe it or not, we've lately taken in a bunch of kids around your age, so you're not going to be alone." The news of other kids his age brought light back to Timoteo's dull eyes. "Really? Around my age?" He asked. The Hero smiled and nodded. "They're all sharing a room right now, but there's another spare bed or two, we can have you sleep in the same room as them. Does that sound good?" Timoteo smiled and nodded. Maybe things wouldn't be as bad as he thought they'd be?
He'd always remember his mother and father, nothing would make him forget them. And the first thing he could do once he was out of the Guild was go to Dattebayo and see them again, right? It's not like he'd ever see them again. He could see himself now, a bright and shining Hero, someone his parents would be so proud of once they saw. The Hero smiled in a friendly manner and playfully said "I know your name, but you don't know mine. The name's Kiln, and before you ask, no, it's not my actual name. One thing you'll notice is that lots of Heroes choose newer, more exciting names for themselves." In a low yet still playful tone, Kiln said "If you knew what my real name is, you'd think "Kiln" was exciting compared to it, trust me."
Timoteo chuckled lightly. Kiln stood up, his light armour and beautiful weapons complimenting his form, the man unintentionally striking a rather heroic pose. "Well, come on. We'll leave right now. Pack up any stuff you want to take with you, it'll only take us a second to get there, trust me." Timoteo felt confused. The Guild was so far away, how would it only take them a second to get there? Still, he did as Kiln asked, getting out a big pack from under his bed. Going around his room, he collected some spare clothes as well as his favourite toys, grabbing a few other personal effects. Once he was all ready, Kiln stepped over to him, holding out a hand with his palm facing the ceiling. "Here. Take my hand. Like I said, it'll only take a second to reach the Guild." He raised his eyebrows a little, smiling saying "I hope for your sake that you have a strong stomach, though."
Curious, Timoteo raised a hand, bringing his palm to Kiln's. Suddenly, a bright blue light surrounded the both of them, Timoteo feeling intensely powerful ripples and vibrations zoom along his body. His room seemed to melt away from around him, a strange forest-like environment replacing it a moment later. Timoteo instantly dropped his bag. He felt immensely sick to his stomach, the vibrations shooting along his skin quickly coming to a head. Bending over, his hands on his knees, he involuntarily retched for a moment before vomiting. Kiln let out a hearty laugh. "Oh, I never get tired of that!" He said during his laughter. Timoteo spit out what puke was left in his mouth, eyeing Kiln curiously. Kiln grinned and said "You'll get used to it, we all do. Almost everybody throws up the first time, nothing to be ashamed of. Look around you, boy. We're not in Dattebayo anymore."
Timoteo took a few moments to look around him. To his right and left were large trees. The trees to his right reached off into what looked like a forest, while the trees to his left didn't look very thick. They were standing on a cleared path, a thick line of dirt reaching out in front of the duo as well as behind them. Up ahead was a small clear, a strange sort of stage to the clearing's left side. It was shaped like an octagon and had many steps reaching out and downwards from each of the sides of it's center spot, creating quite an interesting visual effect. The steps in it's four cardinal directions, namely to the north, south, east and west, had a velvet red carpet covering them, the center spot also being covered. Near it's four corners stood a stone pillar each, the pillars looking a little crumbled with age.
The dirt path led up to a large pair of wooden doors, the doors set in to a massive stone wall of sorts stretching far to the left and right, going through the trees. Looming over the wall was the roof of a massive building made of light brown wood and stone. A large carving of some sort of symbol was made into the wall, just above the wooden doors. There was something fascinating about the building up ahead; Timoteo couldn't explain it, but it probably had something to do with the fact that he hadn't really seen too many grand and wondrous buildings in his life. "C'mon. I'll introduce you to the Guildmaster." Timoteo then realized that the building before him, almost entirely hidden behind the great wall of stone, must've been the Guild of Heroes.
Timoteo grabbed his bag and followed after Kiln as he walked up to the massive wooden doors. Kiln raised a hand, pushing on one of the doors. Showing surprising strength for a man of his trim figure, he pushed open the wooden door to the right, the massive door slowly and steadily swinging open. Facing another pair of wooden doors not far ahead, the two of them walked up to them, Kiln once more pushing the door open. As soon as the door opened, a wave of some sort of sweet scent washed over Timoteo, the boy sniffing a few times. Up ahead, the walls and floor were made of stone. Glancing upwards towards the sky, Timoteo realized that he was about to enter the Guild. The life he knew as a boy in Dattebayo was about to be forever gone, something he understood all too well.
Walking inwards with Kiln, he looked around. The walls had some sconces attached to them, burning candles resting within. Up ahead, a large and circular table sat, showing a large map of Albion on it. A large pair of stairs were to the far left and right past the table, leading up to a second floor. Directly ahead of Timoteo, past the table and between the staircases, there was a set of large opening that led further into the building, Timoteo not being able to see much right away. He heard a faint humming as he heard Kiln say "Guildmaster, got another one 'ere for you. Name's Timoteo, saw him use Physical Shield without knowing it."
Timoteo's eyes widened at what he saw to his left. As soon as he had entered the opening of the room where the map table resided, the humming had become apparent. Looking over in one of the directions of where the humming was coming from, Timoteo saw a crevice in the wall to his left, a long beam of shimmering green light filling it. Quickly looking over to his right, in the direction of a more peaceful-sounding hum, he saw another crevice, this one filled with a pillar of blue light. A calm and somehow elderly voice said "Ah, Timoteo. Look to me, please. I am the Guildmaster." Timoteo looked over in the voice's direction.
The man standing by Kiln wasn't very tall, looking quite small compared to the other Hero. He had a completely bald head, but a thick and stark white moustache that entirely covered the space between his upper lip and his nose. On his forehead, Timoteo saw the very same symbol he had seen just outside on one of the Guild's walls, tattooed into the man's skin. His eyes were deep blue, and seemed to hold an odd sort of serenity. A cloth of white wrapped around his neck snugly, he seemed to be wearing some sort of golden breastplate underneath a jacket of soft blue and golden threads. His hands were covered in dark blue gloves, his pants a matching shade of blue, his boots being black.
Timoteo didn't see any weapons on the man, Timoteo wondering if he was even a Hero. Even though Timoteo didn't realize what the title "Guildmaster" meant, he had a feeling that to be the master of the Guild meant he was most likely a very powerful Hero. Timoteo walked closer to Kiln and the Guildmaster. The Guildmaster smiled at him with an impartial look to his eyes. "So, you're a mage, eh? Good to have you with us, Timoteo. Would you prefer if I called you Tim?" Timoteo shyly said "U-Um, it doesn't really bother me either way." The Guildmaster smiled a little more. "Alright, then. Come with me, Tim. I'll show you to your new room."
Timoteo nodded, following after the Guildmaster as he slowly headed up a nearby set of stairs. Timoteo glanced to Kiln over his shoulder. Kiln gave him a short wave, smiling slightly. Timoteo waved back before he suddenly entered a hallway, Kiln abruptly disappearing from view. Looking back to the Guildmaster, he followed after the aging man. "I'll bet you've got about a hundred questions buzzing around in your head, but don't worry. You'll have plenty of time to ask them, and even more time to think about the answers you'll get. But first, you should unpack." Timoteo sped up a little and walked beside the Guildmaster, asking "So, um, Kiln t-told me that, well, there'd be...Um...Other kids my age?..."
The Guildmaster raised his white eyebrows, saying "Ah, yes indeed. There's several other boys and girls that we've recently stumbled across, all with Heroic potential, just like you. You're all going to be sharing the same room, but don't worry, it's quite roomy." As the two went around a corner in the light stone hallway, easily seeing their way with the aid of the illumination offered by the candles dotting the walls, the Guildmaster glanced at Timoteo, smiling as he said "I don't suppose sharing a room with a few other boys and girls is going to scare you, is it?" Timoteo shook his head confidently. He had shared a room with his older brother all his life, sharing a room with a few other boys his age couldn't be much different. Sharing a room with a girl though, hmm, that could be a little strange, but it'd be a learning experience. Finally, after several more steps, the hallway came to an end, the two of them facing a large entrance to another room.
The room beyond was quite large, Tim thinking most of his house could fit inside. Small beds, lined up to be parallel with one another, dotted the left side of the room. Between them, huge bookshelves completely filled with tomes dotted the walls. The floor was covered in a soft red carpeting. The wall to the right had massive sections of it missing, but it seemed intentional, the openings acting as windows. The scene beyond the windows took Timoteo's breath away. Beyond was a few more large buildings, just like the one Timoteo stood in right then at that moment in time. A creek ran between the building Timoteo stood in and another, a pair of small bridges crossing the creek. He saw an archery range as well as some sort of small combat pen, as well as a path that led to the huge forest behind the Guild.
He saw dozens of people, most of them dressed in the same hooded outfit made of white thread. The outfit was comprised of a white and hooded shirt with dark brown pants, brown gloves and boots going with it. Looking back over to the beds, he spotted that all but two of them had items sticking out from under them. The items looked like the clothing and childish possessions of other people that'd be around his age. Grinning, Timoteo confidently asked "Which bed should I take?" The Guildmaster glanced at him before saying "Well, there's one in the middle that's free...And another near the far end, just by the last bed. Take your pick." Timoteo quickly glanced between the two beds. He quickly decided on the one by the far wall. "I'll take the far one." The Guildmaster smiled and nodded.
"Alright, then. Unpack and make yourself comfy. The others are going to be finishing up their training pretty soon, and they'll be coming back here to unwind before dinner. I'll let them know that you're new but that you belong here. When dinner is ready, just follow everyone else. I'll answer all the questions you have as well as begin your training tomorrow." Timoteo smiled and nodded. Now that he was in an environment with other people his age, he felt more open, his feelings of shyness fading. "Okay!" He said cheerfully. Quickly carrying his bag towards the second to last bed, the Guildmaster disappeared back down the hallway the two of them had come from as Timoteo rested his bag down on the bed. Smiling to himself slightly, he began to pull out his belongings, pushing them as well as his bag underneath his new bed.
It hadn't fully struck him just yet that a new life was already unfolding before him, one filled with adventure and glory, all the things a young boy dreams of.
