   The battle lasted what must’ve been an hour. The two evenly matched combatants continuously predicted each other’s strategies and reacted as best they could. Finally, the last two pokemon fell to the floor unconscious, Hugh’s Serperior’s Leaf Blade collided with Green’s Machamp’s Fire Punch, causing the two pokemon to faint simultaneously. The two veteran trainers stood there, panting as sweat trailed down their faces. The referee declared the battle a draw and the two trainers withdrew their fallen pokemon.
   “So what does this mean?” asked Hugh.
   “It means that tomorrow, you come back and we do this again. And if you win, I give you a gym badge. But, right now? I’m going for a drink. Wanna come?” Green replied, looking Hugh in the eye. Now that actually looked at him, Hugh was a very handsome guy. His dark eyes and hair gave his smooth skin the appearance of being paler than it actually was.    Hugh set down his beer as he replied “I’m from Unova. A little suburban town called Aspertia City on an island apart from the mainland.”
   “Unova, huh?” Green asked, surprised at the distance Hugh must’ve travelled to get to Kanto. “That’s pretty far away, man. Why’d you come out to Kanto?”
   “I beat everyone in Unova. Well, almost everyone. My ex is the champion and I could never beat him.” Hugh said, looking as though he was remembering a terrible time in his life.
   Green almost choked on his beer at Hugh’s story. “Your ex is the champion of Unova!?” Green asked in shock.

So now I’m just a piddly Gym Leader and I haven’t met anyone that made me feel the same way I felt about Red in the past six years.” They sat in silence as tears started to well up in Green’s eyes.
