Collin Kin was dealing with paperwork as he looked over the mess his uncle had left him. His uncle had tricked him into signing papers to give him ownership of his own Empire Club, which his uncle had given up on and run into the ground. He was pissed at him. Collin was a powerful wizard who had graduated from Hogwarts a few years ago. He had been an Auror since graduating, and felt he needed a change of pace now that the war against the Dark Lord was gone. He had thought that this would be his last assignment as a full time Auror, but never thought it was anything like this! Collin looked over the documents carefully. This particular building was hidden in the far end of Japan’s non-magical realm, far from his troubles in Europe… or so he had thought.
“Collin!” Collin turned his blue eyes up to look at his former classmate, Penny Haywood. She had been brilliant in potions which is why he had a hard time grasping how she had come to work for his no-good uncle in Japan. “I need help in the kitchen, please!” The blonde witch looked withered. Collin had made it a rule that no one could use magic to do their chores and tasks because there were muggle customers who came to their strange club. Penny was there because she had spent all her money on potion ingredients and had ended up in debt. It would have been funny if Collin wasn’t so relieved that his uncle hadn’t touched the girl. Apparently his fat greedy uncle had only been focused on the maid he ran away with, leaving everyone else to suffer for his stupidity in a less scaring way than rape.
“What happened this time?” Collin sighed as he put the papers away. The maids’ uniforms were modest and covered them up for the most part. He had chosen this for his own sanity more than anyone else’s. His own uniform, being the “Master” of the club, was a simple tux with a red bowtie or a green tie depending on how he felt that day. He usually wore the green tie.
“The oven… I …”
Collin sighed. Penny was a half-blood and knew some things about cooking in a kitchen, but his uncle had left them with ruined equipment, and a lot of debt. The first month had been Collin and his four maids that were still there, spending the entire time cleaning up the place and doing shows in the theater. The second month was opening the club up to the public for slightly larger shows. Merula was an excellent singer, so Collin took advantage of that, as he recalled her singing from the Frog Choir back at Hogwarts. Merula was there because when the war had broken out, she had chosen to hide away so as not to get caught up in the whole war of light versus dark. She had refused to join the Death Eaters. Collin was proud, and relieved. Her parents were Death Eaters after all.
Collin entered the kitchen to find Rowan was trying to fix the oven. It looked like it had been blown up. Collin sighed again. They had been trying to get the kitchen running so they could add a café and restaurant. “How bad is it, Rowan?” Collin aske as he took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves. He knew how to tinker and fix things, and had been doing a lot of the repairs around the club on his own.
Rowena Khanwood was a woman of Asian decent with dark black hair and amazing dark brown eyes. She was extremely smart, and if Collin hadn’t known any better, he’d have thought she’d be placed in Ravenclaw. Unfortunately for Collin and Rowena, he did know better. Rowena, or Rowan as Collin called her, was actually a Gryffindor who had died at sixteen, and due to some complicated magical mischief on Rowan’s part, had been reborn. There had only been one complication to the ritual, which was amazing, given that no one had succeeded in doing said ritual well enough to even get this far in the last 9 centuries. Rowan’s original life had been as a boy. Now? Rowan was a girl with all of her original life’s memories, which is why when she graduated from Hogwarts properly, instead of doing what she always dreamed of, and becoming the youngest professor in Hogwarts history, she ran away to Japan to deal with the after shock of the war against Voldemort. She had lost a lot of friends in the Battle of Hogwarts, including Tonks, who probably hadn’t recognized her, as she was a teenage girl at the time instead of a twenty-five or whatever old man. Collin had been rather angry and shocked to find out that Rowan was in his uncle’s care, and alive, but had treated the gender thing with less issue than Rowan had feared. “So you’re trans. So what.” He had said at the time. “You were fangirling over Bill Weasley anyway. This is just fitting.” Rowan had shortly after accepted the truth of Collin’s acceptance as well. They were still best friends after all. Collin was mostly just ticked off that Rowan had died in front of him and hadn’t told him he was alive again, even if it was as a woman. After all, their friends had all been pretty traumatized by the whole self-sacrificing bit, but at the same time, Collin understood, as the magic used to bring Rowan back to life, even with current conditions and regulations, was expressly forbidden and could have gotten them killed again with no chance of return.
Rowan looked over at him. “Damn burner broke on this thing. It never got cleaned and a few other issues.” Rowan explained with that irritated tone that Collin was used to from her. Boy or girl, very few changes had happened with Rowan. They were still a nerdy bookworm and the one that Collin trusted most for information. “Not to mention your uncle never really had use for it. He always preferred takeout.”
Collin rolled his eyes as he grabbed tools from a nearby toolbox and started working on it. “I spent a lot of my childhood in a cave eating berries and fish before going to Hogwarts. He can just suck a lemon.” It was no secret to those who had grown up with Collin Kin in the Slytherin House, or even in Hogwarts itself. Collin was a survivor. His uncle was his only family, along with his estranged older sister, that he had left. Everyone else was dead or, well, he had no idea. He had been raised by the old family house elf on orders of his father apparently. Marie had died shortly after Collin had made it into Hogwarts. As far as he was concerned, that house elf was more family to him than his uncle or sister were. He only knew of his uncle because of his work as an Auror. He had met his sister due to her stupid cursed vaults obsession while he was still in Hogwarts. He was still angry with her for Rowan’s death, as well as the teen’s murderer, despite how Rowan was in fact just 5 feet away from him wearing a skirt and looking rather cute as a woman now. Collin shook his head as he returned to fixing the oven. “Give me thirty minutes. One of you ladies look through the fridge for the groceries I bought last night. I’ll cook us all something to keep us going.” He smirked. All of his employees were women, and he took care of his ladies. Besides, he liked cooking for them all, and they liked his cooking.
Penny went to the fridge and grabbed the two bags of mystery ingredients that Collin had bought. Rowan went to go and get Merula, as her shift was almost over at the theater. The secretary maid, his own sister, Hope, just grumbled as she took list of everything Collin needed. She was still on strained terms with her little brother, but it wasn’t as bad as it had been. Collin had been surprised and understandably shocked that Hope was stuck working under their uncle, but like the other girls, it was due to a lot of bad luck, and trying to get away from trouble in Europe. Collin’s arrival was more of a joke than anything, though now all the girls had to rely on him to save their sorry business, or they’d all be stuck serving men who they really didn’t want to be anywhere near. Thankfully, Collin had proved he truly belonged in the Slytherin House in many ways, and his shrewd business skills, as well as his survival skills, allowed him to fix up what was broken.
That night the girls all had a healthy steak salad from the newly fixed oven. Rowan met up with Collin in his office. “Thanks again for making dinner, Collin.” She smiled as she brought him his nightly tea.
“Not a problem. We’ll have the kitchen working soon, and then we can open up the café at least. That should help with income so Merula can take better singing breaks.”
“I’m surprised you don’t duet with her on there more often.”
“I have my reasons. Besides, you know I’m not as good as her.” Collin grimaced. As modest as the outfits were, Collin was glad that his desk was hiding his lower half. It was awkward already to see his best friend having been turned into a woman, but the fact that Rowan was an attractive woman made it hard for him to handle and control his physical urges. Truthfully, he liked all the girls he worked with in the romantic sense, save for his sister. The hard part was that he mentally and emotionally wasn’t attracted to them in the same way. With Rowan, they used to be dorm mates, and knew practically everything about each other. It was a “Sibling” love at first, and Collin had a hard time thinking of Rowan as anything other than another “sister”.
With Penny, the overly sugar sweet girl with a lot of pep in her step made him uneasy sometimes. She was too nice for him. A dark part of him wanted to take her and bring a special type of pleasuring pain that only he, as her “Master” could be allowed to bring. She was too sweet and deserved a bit of punishment for getting into this situation. As the master, he was expected to bed the girls at some point to train them in Yotagi, or sex. This was so they could better serve their customers in the future. Collin had yet to touch any of the girls in this fashion. He respected them in a sense far too much. He did however know that each of them did expect him to bed them at least once.
Bedding Rowan would most likely be the most mentally straining thing, due to their past relationship as dormmates, and since Collin wasn’t entirely sure if Rowan was ready for that mentally yet either. Not to mention, how the hell was he supposed to even get started on admitting that he thought his best friend was hot when he was surrounded by hot women who always thought of themselves as women. He didn’t even know if Rowan was comfortable being a woman or was saving up for a muggle surgery to return to a male life!
Merula was the hardest temptation for Collin to avoid though, as he had always been interested in the purple eyed witch. She was always verbally abusive towards him in the beginning of their time at Hogwarts, only for it to have mellowed out as they got older. By the end of it, they had become friends and had gone on a few dates. Due to Collin becoming an Auror and leaving a lot, they hadn’t thought that a relationship could hold, but now? Collin was unsure about what she thought of him now, but her siren like traits made her rather tempting still. She sung beautifully, and was equally beautiful in looks. She had once been a Tsundere in personality, but now seemed more like a Rindere, though Collin noticed her Tsundere personality was still there around him. Merula was a pale witch with amethyst eyes that were piercing. Her brown mop of hair was only altered by her bangs which were orange. She was usually wearing a rather pretty green dress while she sang for the guests, and today was no exception.
Rowan rolled her dark eyes as she sat herself down near the desk on the couch in the office. “You’re rather good. I don’t know why you never believe that. Then again, you have a hard time believing anything without doing intense research.”
“I hope you know how hypocritical you sound, Rowan Khanna.”
“It’s Rowena Khanwood now, and you know it.”
“What I know, is that that is the stupidest identity change I’ve ever seen.”
“This coming from the guy who just shortened his last name and put another L in his first name.” The two gave each other a knowing look before bursting into laughter. It really was a relief for them to have each other again. Rowan looked over to Collin again with a grimace. “Seriously, even though I had to go through growing up again, you survived something even worse.” Collin looked at his companion with confusion.
“What do you mean?”
“You lost your whole family. You lived in the woods in a cave. You only have your sister now, and even then, you both are barely tolerating each other because of this…” She gestured to the whole of where they were working, the Empire Club that Collin’s uncle Julian had built and ruined so quickly. “Collin, when we went to Hogwarts together, you prioritized everyone over yourself, including your sister. You are still doing that, aren’t you?” She smirked. “You can’t tell me you didn’t actually read the contract. I know you better.”
Collin grimaced. Then he sighed. “Yeah… I knew he had Hope… I didn’t read enough of it to know he had you three though…”
“There you go again, that stupid self-sacrificing thing that you always do.”
“Look who’s talking, ya hypocrite. You died saving Ben. You’re only back because of a book from the restricted section…”
“Written by one of your ancestors…” Rowan was always proud of her resourcefulness. It was what allowed her to survive her second time going through Hogwarts as a Slytherin, much to Professor Snape’s confusion, as he had been the only one to recognize Rowan and learn the secret. “I’m just glad I got it done in time. That was a pretty stressful situation… I am sorry I didn’t tell you I had this going on, but I wasn’t sure it would even work…”
“So you keep saying.” Collin sighed as he counted it to the twentieth or so time that Rowan had apologized for not telling him about the ritual that brought him back to life as a girl. “I’m pretty much over that part now. I’m relieved your alive.” Collin grimaced. “I just don’t know how to deal with certain things right now.” He admitted.
Rowan now grimaced. “Like how to deal with the repairs and bills?”
Collin snickered. “Actually, that’s not the biggest problem I’m dealing with.” Collin had been avoiding eye contact with the girls that he now had to see as his maid. It was complicated for him. This was essentially every man who liked women’s dreams. He was surrounded by rather attractive women in various personalities, and they were essentially forced to address him as master in front of the guests, and in some cases, did so when alone with him as well.
“What’s the biggest problem?”
Collin placed a hand on his face in a dragging motion. “Rowan… remember when you were male? What would be the most difficult thing about my position currently?”
“…” Rowan took a minute to think about it before finally blushing. “Sorry, Master.” That didn’t help. That just made Collin’s lower half heat up even more, especially with the soft tone that Rowan just gave as well.
Collin frowned, a deadpan expression on his face. He scooted away from his desk after turning off his computer. “I’m going to bed. I’ll see you tomorrow, Rowan.” His tone was sharp and a bit irritated.
Just before he left the office, Rowan spoke up. “You should know… any one of us would be willing to help you with that problem.” Collin froze. “As the master, we pretty much would do anything you asked… and in that particular area… you might find we’ll do it without complaint.”
“…” Collin grimaced. He looked over his shoulder at his oldest friend. “You know… I don’t know if that makes you gay or straight… how does that work for a trans woman?”
Rowan smirked, recognizing Collin was trying to deal with his stress with a poor joke, just like when they were teens. “You know… I’m not sure…”
With that, Collin went to his room.
