Reviews for A Change Of Tactics

Quick review about two points in your newest chapter.
I'll just come out and say it: Cordelia is, by far, my least favorite character in the entire Fire Emblem series (for personal reasons I won't bore you with). I bring that up, however, because I am actually looking forward to seeing what you're going to do with her. I was just going to skip her chapter and sub-sequentially any scenes with her, but I have to admit you've picked my interest. I might actually be looking forward to it. Not only that, but the "backstory" you gave her with Ricken was actually an interesting decision. Not only does it help further the plot but it actually made me feel, dare I say it, bad for Cordelia; and this is a character I would always ax off after getting Severa just out of spite. So good job with that.
That being said, now I get to what I believe is the main problem with this chapter: the lesbian scene. Technically speaking you did set up for this in the previous chapters, so it's not like it came out of nowhere. Yet it feels out of place to say the least; like you just slapped it on to have a lesbian scene because, well it's a lesbian scene and people love those. Personally I think that Lissa's growing "lesbianism" if you would is a unnecessary side story that derails the main story more than helps it. And I know that there is a good chance that you have a plan for that scene and the lesbian plot line in general; maybe you're setting up a threesome with Maribelle , or maybe it's something else. I just think it's unnecessary; but feel free to take my opinion with a grain of salt.
That's all I have. I do look forward for the next chapter and any more in the future; that is until you make a Morgan chapter.

Forgot to mention: Can the Lissa Maribelle thing not happen in a dream? Can it happen for real in this? Please?

This story is amazing. I thought the Maibelle/Lissa scene was grea as well, was sad when it was just a dream XD. Hope to see next chapter as soon as you can.

Lucina stated she did not reveal herself at first in fear of interfering with her own birth. Here, we see her fears were well-founded.

Not much to say about Olivia. Apart that oh boy, I wonder how wrong her ideas may get.

Lissa, as I see, took cues of what happened with Robin and applied those tricks on Maribelle in her own dreams. It would certainly be something if Lissa was the one to set Robin on Maribelle to start things out with her, heh. As for scenes between girls, I don't mind those so long as they're not forced and don't distract you too much. We both know how much you have on your plate already.

And Cordelia and Severa... Oh boy. Well, the time changed, Robin assumed something wrong, as well as Severa. Cordelia is paying for it with a whacked love life, which is... Well, not going to be less crazy with Robin starting things with her now. Ricken's not exactly going to be too happy when Cordelia eventually talk to him about it, but hopefully, he does understand what he need to do if he truly meant to love Cordelia and not take that conclusion for granted.

Still, even if Robin had to think on his feet, surprise is probably the best way to take on Cordelia. She has issues overthinking things, so Robin has to keep her off-balance unlike before, instead of giving long delays.

As for Severa, I can now see what may happen... She find out and is pissed about it, but jsut as Cordelia poured on Robin hard facts, Robin get to do the same to Severa. Maybe she see too much her dead parents in current Cordelia and Ricken? It may lead to a minor breakdown when Robin make her accept the two are not the same here as her dead parents. As for how seduction go there... Not sure, will he set her competitive spirit alight by saying that if he want him to keep his hands off Cordelia, she may try to take her place?

And finally, that last bit... You're not fooling me. You deliberately wrote it that way to mislead the picture it presents. But I played Final Fantasy Tactics and I know of political intrigue in medieval fantasy worlds. This is related to that, isn't it? I cannot picture anyone else other than Robin filling a role as spymaster as well given how much intel pass by him already. And Henry is not prone to killing people for random reasons, even as odd as he may be. If Robin got a message about it and it's not the first time, there's a reason for it.

Also, on that last comment in responses, I'm amused by how much you like the idea. Heh.

Once again you've taken a well-used setup and put a creative, thoughtful spin on it. Bravo. I enjoyed Robin planning by the seat of his pants as much as I've enjoyed his slow scheming of chapters past. And the Maribelle/Lissa scene was delightful. I was actually disappointed that it was a dream.

Dude. After that I need some Robin x Cynthia in my life ASAP. Maybe some Robin x Tharja x Noire. I need more kid action for sure.

Wow, I discovered this story right after your first bonus chapter and have ben waiting with bated breath for new installments since. The most recent bonus chapter did not disappoint on this front! Please, oh please, give Cynthia a full chapter or at least a full scene with Robin sometime soon! The teasing massage scene in the barracks may be among the hottest things I've read on this site... and I love your take on Cynthia's normally over-the-top silly character. Also, how about some Kjelle or Sully? Either way, keep up the fantastic work!

...I wanna vote both Cordelia's Knights and Anna's family. The second probably promises to be hilarious too.

So, another bonus chapter and it seems Cynthia will not be as far in line as I imagined she would be. Still, massage goodness... I wonder if it may be her method of 'seduction' to use later on when it's time.

On the whole 'loli' aspect... I honestly do not care if you don't play much on it, I'm not sure how to feel about some 'growth'... Nah is half-human so there's that, but Nowi is another matter being full-blooded Manakete. Well, whatever you're more comfortable writing I guess. Must say, I do imagine Robin being able to lift them for certain positions he cannot do with others.

Alright, FINALLY I can review this chapter. Honestly, I think it was very well done, though I can't help but feel that it was just one more chapter to put off continuing the plot. Just me, and it's unfair to you to say so, but that's honestly how I felt. While we're on the topic of honesty, I just want to say that while NTR usually puts me off, this is one story where you write it so well that I can't help but like it. The thing with most NTR is that the person who is "stealing" feels no guilt or hesitation about it. Here, Robin CLEARLY feels guilt about what he's doing, and even fights against his urges until his hand is forced or he finds a way to give the girl what she wants/needs before taking her to his bed. That's just me, though, my own opinion on the situation.
So, the two that he knows might reveal his plan... Well, pretty damn sure that's Nowi and Tikki. Nah doesn't really know much about things like this (at least, that's the impression I get though I also think she'll end up at Robin's side) and while Say'ri knows Tikki and such as her lands' holy figure (Goddess? Spirit? Whatever.) I don't think she knows about the whole thing about dragonic urges.
Honestly surprised that Severa is so popular, but then a part of me isn't. What DOES surprise me fully is that Nah came in second place at such a huge gap. I mean, really? Damn. Still, at least she placed at all. I think Noire did to, but not going to swear to it. And what's this, Cynthia's getting into the mix, or at least showing an interest? Not bad at all, though when she started giving her speeches, I had to laugh. Darkwing Duck, nice! Though the one before that all I could think of was her getting ready to face off against Grima, her hair exploding into a glowing blonde as lighting struck around her. TELL ME THAT WOULD NOT BE AWESOME.

Actually, I've always been a slight fan of Aversa - though I don't know if the DLC stuff is included here, given how implausible a lot of it is (lol jk not really dead, time for my tragic backstory). I didn't suggest her because I couldn't see how she'd avoid overlapping with Tharja as the fiercely loyal, socially isolated, vaguely standoffish dark sorceress. Especially given Tharja's newfound religious devotion to Robin - I'd assume that Aversa, a devout Grimleal, would end up in a similar position.

Buuut there are a few distinct hooks, there. Per canon, if Aversa doesn't end up with Robin she slinks off to her old hometown, to try and reclaim a normal life (somehow, with big evil dragon-cult tattoos and an aptitude for dark magic). As Robin's desires continue to escalate, he might be advised to track down someone who knows a bit more about what exactly Validar was up to - like his closest surviving confidante. Aversa, meanwhile, likely has a different approach to religion than Tharja's very personal faith - if she discovers/decides that her "elder brother" is the second coming of Grima, she might well try to formalize that revelation into a new cult... which Robin presumably has to head off at the pass.
