Chapter 2- So that Wars can End Derosa’s head throbbed with fresh pain, she attempted to raise her hand to clutch at the epicentre of the pain only to discover that her muscles refused to respond. The act only succeeded to agitate her and press her deeper into a state of panic. Derosa continued to strain against her sleeping muscles, attempting to elicit some form of movement from her body but she refused to respond to her own commands. Derosa finally surrendered to the realization that she would not be able to free herself, instead she chose to take in her surroundings, hoping to decipher precisely where she was being held and by who. The room surrounding her seemed to have a cool, metal sheen that was distastefully unsettling, indicating a medical facility of some kind. This meant she must have either been injured or she was healthy and her captors had decided she would serve as an excellent subject for interrogation, she was ready to believe either but knowing the Eldar it was more likely the latter. Derosa was enthralled by a network of energy bindings which seemed to be sapping her very strength from within her, resulting in the total paralysis of her arms and legs and ensuring that she would not be going anywhere soon. Derosa noted an array of alien machines and devices lining the walls of the room, each designed to heal, but with the correct amount of skill could just as easily be reconfigured as a weapon of interrogation. Derosa turned her mind from the prospects of forthcoming pain, returning her attention to deciphering a way to escape. It suddenly dawned upon her that she was not alone in the room. Before her lay a large silvery metal door, on either side of the bulkhead stood Eldar Guardian, the two soldiers unwavering and disciplined that they blended seamlessly into the background. Derosa cursed herself for not noticing them sooner. The unfaltering guardians suddenly snapped to attention, clashing their weapons against their armoured chests. The door leading into the room whooshed open silently, a burning light from beyond the room forcing the Imperial Administrator to avert her gaze. Out of the bright light emerged a sleek feminine figure of an Eldar, they were too finely dressed to be a mere technician or interrogator, that fact marked her as a high ranking Eldar leader of the Eldar within the system. The individual’s face was concealed by a dark black hood, but Derosa could still see a vivid scar creeping up the side of the figures face and their dark red eyes easily piercing the thin veil of twilight. The figure moved with delicate grace and speed, by the time Derosa had caught up with their movements the figure was already two steps ahead of her, forcing Derosa to realize that she had been played like a lowly fiddle. The Eldar figure stood before her captive. Reaching their long elegant fingers up to clasp the lip of their hood they pulled back the hood to reveal their fiery red hair held back with a silver white pin. Their light pale skin reflected the bright light of the rooms overhanging lights; the flawless texture was only marred by the vivid scar that crept up the side of their cheek. “You are the Mon’keigh my Warp Spiders intercepted?” the Eldar woman said with an alien smile. “And you must be your Farseers lap dog interrogator?” Derosa sniped. “Farseer, yes” a smile grew on her lips. Lapdog, no” she spoke with subtle grace. The realisation quickly dawned on her as she realized her situation had just altered dramatically. “And what brings the great and powerful Farseer down here to see their latest spoil of war?” Idranel raised her gloved hand from her side. “This” On their cue the Guardians standing either side of the door turned on their heels and stepped out of the room, the doors closing in their wake, leaving the Farseer with her captive. Derosa braced herself, expecting a torrent of pain as some alien magic coursed through her body, ending her life in a flurry of energy. But it never came. The sound of a sharp click resonated through the room. Derosa dared to open an eye, the fact that she still felt the gentle breeze against her chin satisfied her concerns about whether or not she was still alive. Derosa suddenly felt the influence over her muscles return to her as her locks released. Derosa lifted her right forearm up to a more comfortable position, fearing that this alone was enough of an infringement to warrant punishment once again. Finding her fears unfounded Derosa dared to raise herself up to sit upon the bed to meet the Farseer’s eyes. “You did well to make it to the target ahead of my Warp Spiders. But your skills in the art of stealth require a great amount of work” Idranel spoke with calm, soothing tone. “Well breaking into other peoples homes isn’t a part of my regular routine” Derosa’s tongue slithered the words with almost spite. “Yes. Well you did well I wouldn’t want your attempt to be fruitless” Idranel reached into her long cloak, revealing a small data card from her pocket, holding the device out for Derosa to accept. Derosa stared at the device as though it was the physical embodiment of evil. “What’s that?” “It is the reports detailing Ork battle plans for the several days. This intelligence came from my Rangers within the system” Idranel spoke with such a sweet tone. Derosa first stared at the device with surprise and then suspicion. Idranel could feel her suspicion resonate strongly through the warp. “Listen. If you do not take this information with you your Marines will fail” Derosa still couldn’t believe anything she said. “And why would you want to help us?” Idranel’s gaze turned steely. “Listen carefully. I take no joy in assisting you. You brutish Mon’keigh have much Eldar blood on your hands to answer for. But for now we must put aside our engagements in order to remove our common enemy. It is better for everyone that your Marines survive to combat the Tyranids for longer. They are the only ones who have a chance of ending the hordes threat and the longer they resist the weaker our enemy will become, giving us a greater time to mount a defence should they break free of this system” Her words were sincere, Derosa did not like playing pet to the Eldar, but it seemed as though she had no choice. Derosa accepted the offered data chip. Idranel rose from her seat- silently walking towards the door with graceful silence. She stopped just short of the door. “When this war ends, we will hunt you no longer”
