Everything was an argument.
At least that’s how it felt to the Air Force Colonel. Guile witnessed the atrocities of war first hand and literally punched criminals in the face but lately, he couldn’t do anything without something exploding.
He didn’t care about fabric and pastels but agreed to go to the party so he could soothe his wife. She’d become increasingly concerned about his antisocial behavior and thought being around other people would be good for the man. Personally, Guile thought it was a mistake. He had nothing in common with these silver spoon-fed brats. The only reason he was even here was because he married the sister-in-law of one.
The sight of his partner stirred a perverted sense of relief in him. The promise of more stimulating conversation among other things piqued his interest. His impulsive actions paid-off and screwed him over at the same time, pushing the woman further away. Even if Chun-li submitted, he wasn’t sure if he’d do anything with her.
After what happened in the closet, he returned. Chun-li’s sudden departure became a brief point of interest before moving on to baby names and various brands of pureed food. The man remained silent for the rest of the night.
*~*~*~*~*~*
After a miserably silent car ride, Julia rushed towards the house and stormed inside. Guile followed with grudging obedience. He refused to ask what was bothering the woman this time. He didn’t like starting fights he couldn’t win.
The man shut the door behind him and his wife spun around to confront him.
“You could’ve said something!” She snapped.
Guile frowned. “Like what?”
“I don’t know-something! Anything!” Julia gave a frustrated growl before forcing herself to maintain a calmer tone. “…You act like a zombie now!”
“I just have a lot on my mind.” He grumbled.
Julia continued. “You’re scaring me…Even Amy’s afraid of you…”
“A-afraid of me?” Guile stammered with rage before screaming at her. “Why the hell would either one of you be afraid of me-“
“-Because you’re yelling at me right now!” Julia’s words slurred with painful sobs. “Your so cold now! It's like you never came back. If I knew you were going to act like this then I should’ve told you to stay gone…”
“Julia…” Guile’s tone softened. She wasn’t lying. The desire to avenge Nash occupied more of his thoughts than he wanted to admit. The drive changed him. Warped him…and now his wife grew terrified of him. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what to do. I can’t let it go. I can’t.”
His wife walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his waist.
“I will love you until I die, William…” Her words hung in the air and the man waited for her to continue. She backed away and met his gaze with her own. “…but until you come back, you can’t be with us.”
She crossed her arms across her chest.
“I want you to leave the house.”
“What?” Guile bellowed. “For how long?”
“Until you get over whatever is making you like this.” Her words were oddly serene. “You’ve been a stranger to me since Interpol rescued us from that horrible man and I think you need to get your priorities straight.”
Guile searched for any words to counter her request but failed. Julia was painfully right. Until he got his head together, nothing would be normal…whatever that was. He clenched his jaw and gave a brusque nod before turning and leaving.
*~*~*~*~*~*
Guile remained on the back porch with his head in his hands. Time seemed foreign to him now. He kept playing that night back over in his head to try to find the exact moment it all went to hell. It was fruitless. Pointless.
Charlie could make sense out of this. He mused. He could piece together anything…
“There you are!” The man looked up to see a grinning blond approach him. Ken shot him a knowing smirk. “Well look who’s in the doghouse.”
His smile made Guile want to punch the Shotokan fighter hard enough to cave in his face. The last thing he needed was for this brat to rub salt in his wounds. The colonel’s eyes ached with fatigue from hanging out near the bug zapper for far too long.
“What are you doing here?” He growled.
“Oh, I’m here to fetch Julia.” Ken explained. “Liz has been on the phone with her for a good chunk of the night before she decided it be better for her big sis if she and her daughter crashed at our place while you sort out your demons.”
Guile leaned back in his seat. “God damn, do you know all my business?”
“Only the juicy parts.” He added with extra sass. “Why don’t we do something together?”
The man shot Ken down with an incredulous snort. “Like what? Paint our nails while gossiping or somethin’.”
“If that’s your thing.” Ken shrugged. The young man was unshakable sometimes. “I was gonna suggest a strip club.”
“...” Guile turned away from him and stared off into the darkness of his lawn. Ken sat next to him and put a reassuring hand on the colonel’s shoulder. To Guile’s surprise, the support gave him some strange comfort.
“I just wanna help you out dude. After all we’ve been through, I’d be an asshole if I didn’t…Don’t brush me off, brother-in-law.” Guile cringed at his last words.
“I know what’ll make us feel better.” Ken hopped to his feet. “Let’s go to Metro City and beat up on some trash!”
After a pause, Guile shrugged. “Fuck it, sure.”
*~*~*~*~*~*
A thug in reddish-brown clothes approached them while brandishing a knife.
“Looks like we’ve got some new meat around here.” He jabbed the knife at the men. “You lookin’ to juice up or somethin’?”
A quick glance to the side revealed a couple more of his buddies edging off to the side, waiting for an opportune moment to strike.
“I got your back, dude.” Ken spun around and fell into a defensive stance before beckoning to them. “You want it? Come get it!”
Guile gave a small sigh and put his fists up. The thug ceased taunting and charged at the colonel with his knife leading the way. His buddies responded by advancing as well. Ken started with a high kick connecting with a thug’s jaw and sent him flying into another who was flanking him.
Meanwhile, Guile side-stepped the blade and hit his attacker in the face with a firm back hand. He stumbled back, sputtering while blood spilled down his chin. Guile finished him off with another merciless blow to the face and sent the disoriented thug flying into a pile of garbage bags. The knife flew out of his hand and landed on the filthy asphalt. It didn’t stay on the ground for very long. Another thug in khaki gear scooped it up and prepared to attack. The original thug got up, wiping the blood from his chin and joined his new comrade. They stalked towards the man, radiating pure malice.
The crack of beer bottles caused Guile to spin around. Ken backed up to him. Three more thugs crawled out of the wood work armed with cracked glass bottles for weapons.
“Way to improvise.” The wealthy fighter muttered.
Guile groaned. “Do you have to have a smart-ass comment for everything, Blondie?”
“Not everything.” Ken said casually before spinning through two thugs with a hurricane kick. He landed and turned to Guile. “…and the jokes on you dude, I’m not even a real blond-“
A crate shattered against the back of his head and the young man dropped with the grace of a rag doll. Guile swore but before he could head to Ken, a thug rushed him. He dodged late and a knife tore through the left side of his wife beater, grazing his skin. Another thug came from above with a flying kick to the head. Dizzy, Guile stumbled about and struggled to avoid the impeding torrent of blows.
“HADOU-KEN!” Ken stood with his hands cupped. The fireball cleared a way but more thugs headed towards them.
A quick look revealed more and more of the gang were headed towards them. Guile swore with alarm. “Fuck, they’re like cockroaches!”
Guile greeted them with a Sonic boom and headed to Ken’s side. Blood dripped down the side of Ken’s head. The colonel draped the man’s arm over his shoulders and they fled into the night with the remainder of the thugs tailing after them.

The Metro City Hospital-a refuge for both victims and contributors of the growing crime rate-was crowded.
Chun-li got the impression this was normal for a hole-in the wall like this. People crowded the reception desk while the woman was ignored by both nurses working there. One of them was flirting with a shirtless man in a leather vest while the other rebuked her loser boyfriend to someone on the other line.
Frustrated, Chun-li gave up and ventured deeper into the shady infirmary. She nearly got into a fight when one adventurous patron grabbed her butt but she silenced him with a vicious kick to the gut. The man soared through the air and when he landed, he didn’t get up.
At least it happened in a hospital. Chun-li shrugged the incident off and tried to single out someone who looked like they worked here. After a few more minutes, she managed to get the attention of an attractive nurse with long, ragged, pink hair.
“What can I do for you, sugar?” Her voice was oddly deep for someone so feminine.
“My name is Chun-li Xiang and I’m here to pick up my friends.” She looked around at the disheveled chaos of the hospital. “Um, are they alright?”
The nurse rummaged through the papers on her clipboard until she stopped on a page. Her features darkened with a frown. “Yeah, I know these clowns. Follow me.”
With a heated pace, the nurse stormed down the hall and ranted about how they’d given her such a hard time.
“See it’s people like that who give our place a bad name.” She punctuated her words by making grand gesticulations with her free hand. “They are so lucky I’ve got a weak spot for blondes or I’d-a thrown their smart-asses out!”
She then barged into a room and stood beside the entrance, gesturing for the Chun-li to enter.
“Do these belong to you?”
Unconscious, Ken lay on a gurney with bandages wrapped around his head. Guile was bandaged up too and held his arm in a sling. He gave her a sidelong glance like a guilty child caught writing on the walls.
“Unfortunately.” Chun-li stormed between them. “So what do I need to do to get these guys outta here?”
She started scrawling on her clipboard. “Well, normally you should wait for the police but they’re always busy so I guess I can release them to you. They’re lying to me anyway.”
Chun-li blinked. “Eh?”
The nurse presented a clipboard to the flustered woman. “Just sign at the X and Mr. John Wayne and Mr. John Woo go home with you.”
Her eyebrow quirked up at the names. Really funny.
*~*~*~*~*~*
Chun-li didn’t start chiding her partner until she got on the highway. Ken lay in the back seat barely moving.
“You’re a real piece of work, you know that?” She started. “Getting into fights? Are you going through some sort of midlife thing or something because I’m not going to get caught up in your bullshit just because you’re scared of getting older or something! Geez!”
“You sound like my wife.” Guile snapped. “Get off my back!”
“No, I won’t! You’re an asshole and I’m gonna chew you out for it!” She clenched the steering wheel so tight her knuckles grew pale. “Which way to the base?”
“I can’t go home.” He muttered. “I…I’m not wanted there.”
“…Not wanted?” Her anger cooled a little and her tone softened. “Did something happen, Guile?”
“It don’t concern you.” He said with a clenched jaw. After a few minutes creeped by, he took a deep breath and spoke. “Y’know chasing after Bison has taken up a good chunk of my life…”
The words lingered but Guile said nothing. Chun-li sighed.
“It’s taken up most of my life too.”
“Do you regret it?”
Chun-li pondered the question. “Sometimes.”
“I’ve missed out on so much of Julia’s life. Amy’s life. I can’t rebuild it or repair it because I wasn’t there to be the foundation of their lives. She looks at me like I’m a stranger and I can’t-“ He choked on a sob but quickly stifled it. “Fuckin’ drugs, turnin’ me into a bitch.”
“It’s okay to have feelings, Guile.” Chun-li assured him. His laments struck a painful chord she struggled to hide. “Do you know what’s going to happen…does she want to separate?”
“That’s one of the things on the table.” After a second of silence, he rammed his good arm into the door with a sudden, sharp blow. “I wouldn’t put it past him to take everything away from me!”
“You can’t blame Bison for everything.”
“…I don’t.”
Chun-li didn’t ask who he blamed. The question would be obvious and loaded with all sorts of trouble-causing nastiness.
“I’ll let you guys crash at my place until morning.” She said with forced levity. “Things always make more sense after a good night’s sleep.”
*~*~*~*~*~*
Guile dropped the groggy young man on the couch and he landed with a worrisome thud. Ken groaned and rolled on to his side, his chest rising and falling softly.
At least he didn’t throw him on the floor. Chun-li thought. Things could be worse.
“I have an air mattress.” She announced. “You can sleep on it since Ken is apparently taking the couch. I’ll get it after I change.”
“Take your time.” Guile slipped his hands in his pockets and looked around. “I don’t think I’ve really checked out your new place. I mean I was here but-“
“Yeah, I know.” Chun-li dismissed the subject. Tonight was stressful enough with out bringing that up. No need to add gasoline to a forest fire or whatever the saying was. She turned and strolled through her ample living room. “Let me know if you need anything.”
Guile merely answered with a grunt before the woman shut her bedroom door behind her.
*~*~*~*~*~*
Why me? Chun-li pulled her yellow nightgown over her head. She’d easily replaced the one shredded apart during her exhausting fight with Vega. The memory made her smirk. Shadaloo had done well to not send anyone else to bother her at home. At least that was one victory. The woman smirked. Even now, her thoughts focused on work.
Maybe, I have a problem. She mused. Rummaging through the closet, she dug out the crumpled plastic mattress and unfurled it. Work isn’t the problem…or it is…
A soft knock at the door grabbed her attention.
“Come in.” She said and immediately regretted it. Her nightgown wasn’t skimpy but it wasn’t exactly modest and the colonel had problems keeping his hands to himself lately. The last thing he needed was some sort of accidental flash. She spun around, holding the mattress over her legs like a guard. Guile blinked with confusion.
“Um, kid. I don’t think that’s how you inflate an air mattress.” He teased.
“Well aren’t you the comedian.” She muttered. “Anyway, I have the inflator too so-“
“I came in here to talk to you about what happened at the party.” That was the last thing she wanted to talk about. “I feel like we should, bein’ adults and all.”
“Bah.” Chun-li walked over to the bed and draped her body over the sheets. With her face pressed into the pillows, she managed to get out a muffled: “’m tired.”
Guile sat down and the bed depressed under his weight. He grabbed her shoulder and gently shook the woman. “C’mon. We need to talk.”
She groaned in protest but he continued.
“Please.”
Now was as good of a time as any. She raised her head a little and peeked at him from the pillows. “Why do you keep doing stuff to me?”
“I…” He frowned. “I dunno. Just feels right, I guess.”
She rolled over on her side. “Is this a greener grass thing? You bored with your wife or somethin’?”
The blond shook his head. The woman continued. “I don’t know what to think. After all the time we spent together I never thought about us…doing stuff. I guess you did though.”
“Not really.” Chun-li shot him an incredulous glare. Guile shrugged. “Really. Didn’t cross my mind often. I was so focused on Bison that I guess my thoughts didn’t have much room for much else.”
She couldn’t fault him there. This obsession with vengeance consumed her just as much. In fact, for a while, it was hard to think of anything else. It was this that forced her to decide. She rolled over and shielded her eyes with her forearm.
“Alright! Have your way with me so we can get on with our lives.”
“Don’t even joke about that-“
“I’m not.” She looked at him. “Maybe I just feel like giving you a free pass tonight...but if you’re not interested because I gave you permission then you’re an asshole.”
“I guess I understand that.” Leaning over, Guile put a hand on her knee. “You sure?”
The woman sighed. “If it’ll make you leave me alone then do whatever you want.”
“Glad you picked us up, Kiddo.” His wandering hands hiked her nightgown up and he rubbed her thighs with slow caresses. “I didn’t think you would.”
“Then why did you call me?” Chun-li’s words almost melted into a groan.
“Dunno.” At this point, the man could see her white panties. The simple material clung to her plump vulva, accentuating the shape. “Guess I just know you that well.”
He ran teasing fingers over the thin fabric of her underwear, savoring her inviting warmth. For someone so straightforward, plain cotton panties felt appropriate.
Getting bold, he reached into her underwear and dipped two fingers into the welcoming slickness of Chun-li’s cleft. The woman tensed up and prepared to protest.
“Easy.” Guile breathed. “It’s just my fingers. Even you can’t complain about that much.”
What was that supposed to mean? Chun-li stared up at the ceiling and struggled to ignore his ministrations. Maybe he’ll get bored…
It became harder to ignore him with each invasive prod going deeper into her tight canal. Her stomach contorted slightly with pleasure as the man worked her delicate slit. Guile shifted to a vigorous stabbing motion, causing her breasts to sway with each jab. Forcing herself to keep quiet only intensified her heated enjoyment and sped up with the inevitable climax. Her peak came in a blinding flash and every part of her tensed and convulsed before Chun-li collapsed in a panting heap.
The woman barely detected the remove of Guile’s invading digits and laid there in a prone position. Guile got up and headed for the door. Snapping out of her daze, Chun-li sat upright in shock.
“W-where are you going?” She asked, growing confused. “Did…you want more?”
Guile paused and rested his free hand on the door frame. “Nah. Can’t do much with the drugs and all.”
Chun-li turned away from him and struggled to find something to say. There was nothing to say. Guile walked out and all she heard was the soft sound of the front door closing. With that, the Interpol agent curled up and forced herself into a restless sleep.
