“I’m pregnant.”
Castiel jumped up, looking down at her.
“WHAT?!”
Brandi jumped and pulled the blanket up to her breasts, staring up at him with tears in her green eyes. He could see that he just upset her, and he sat down, pulling her into his arms. Pregnant…Brandi was pregnant…Damn it all. He really was careless, and he hoped to god that Brandi wouldn’t get hurt during this. He felt like an idiot, a jackass for letting himself forget the condom.
“Brandi…I’m sorry.”
She looked at him.
“It’s not your fault…”
“Yes it is.”
Brandi pulled him to her, and gave him a kiss on the lips. Nuzzling, Castiel and Brandi fell back onto the bed, holding onto each other’s naked body. Her soft brown hair tickled his skin as he pulled her in for a passionate kiss. He rolled, taking her with her. Brandi now sat on top of his body, her hair around her arms and shoulders, draped down her front, covering her nipples on her breasts. She placed her hands on his bare chest. All that was needed was for her to pick her hips up and he would be in her again. She smiled down at him, and bent over, kissing him gently. When she sat back up, she made sure he slid into her. She caught her breath, and begun to rock her hips. He held onto her, watching as she blushed, trying to keep her lips closed and eyes shut through the pleasure she was receiving. Her fingers curled into fists, scratching his chest.
Brandi’s nails dug into his skin as she continued, picking her speed up. His hands traveled up her arms, and onto her shoulders, and then his finger tips traveled down until his hands cupped her breasts. She moaned when he pinched her nipples, sending shocks of pain through her veins. She shook a little as she leaned forward, wanting a different spectrum on things. He started to buck up, doing the work for her. He then pulled her down, kissing her as he bucked up. Castiel rolled them over, thrusting into her. He clasped hands with her, and in his mind, he suddenly wanted x-ray vision so he could see his child in her.
He gathered her in his arms, holding her close to him as they smiled to each other, nose to nose, arms around each other’s body. Loving as they could be, they continued, nuzzling each other with each wave of simple pleasure until they exploded with it.
Brandi looked in Castiel’s mothers mirror at her naked body, holding her stomach. She tried to imagine a baby in there. Castiel sat in jeans on the bed.
“You're crazy…”
Brandi smiled as she turned to the side.
“Don’t blame me.”
He smiled when she sat on his lap. His arms wrapped protectively around the naked girl in his lap.
“We’ll get through this.” He said, resting his head on top of hers and looked into the mirror.
She looked good with him. Her hand rested on her stomach, as if to try to feel the unfeelable. It would be hard telling her mother and father. Dave hated her. He never wanted a child to begin with. Casey, on the other hand, babied Brandi when she possibly could. Family life wasn’t easy. Her parents fought left and right, and sometimes Brandi would be scared that Dave would come after her. When she opened her door, someone slapped her, and she fell onto her ass on the ground.
“DAVE DON’T!” Casey screamed out, picking herself up off the floor.
Dave went to hit her again, and she cowered on the ground, waiting for the hit. When it didn’t come, she looked up, shocked to see Lysander holding his arm above his head.
“Hitting a lady while she’s down, my aren’t you just the world’s best gentleman!” He said, his eyes flashing with anger.
Brandi could see a phone in his hand, and by the screen, he had called Castiel, who most likely already left his home. She screamed when Lysander dropped it and got into a fight with her father. Casey couldn’t get to her baby, separated by two men.
“BRANDI!” She yelled out.
The brunette was curled up, and Casey knew why. They had seen an email that Brandi sent to her godmother, that she was pregnant. Casey knew that her baby needed help getting through it, but Dave thought an abortion was the answer. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a large dog toppled Dave over, growling with his teeth bared and saliva falling onto his chest. Scared out of his mind, Dave thought about pushing the dog off.
“Good boy Demon.”
Brandi was helped up, arms surrounding her body. Demon gave a couple barks, and growled more until Castiel called him off. Dave sat up, seeing two men by his daughter. Lysander was hooking the leash back onto Demon’s caller while Castiel’s arm was around her.
The one in leather didn’t seem to like him, and he really didn’t like him. Brandi stood shaking in Castiel’s arms as Lysander stood up straight, Demon’s leash with Demon attached in his hand. He got up, and left the house, most likely to go to the bar. Both Castiel and Lysander kept an eye on him until Casey rushed forward, arms surrounding her pregnant daughter. Brandi melted into her mother’s arms, feeling safe again. Castiel could see the two girls had a strong relationship. Casey was her daughters net; the one Brandi would run to when Dave had one of his drunken fits.
“Why…” Lysander simply asked, petting Demon.
Unlike her father, Brandi looked like her mother, except for her green eyes. He gently pulled her into his arms, and she felt even safer. Casey quickly invited them in.
While Casey poured them coffee, Castiel and Lysander looked around. It was a nice home, but they could see where abuse was. Holes in the wall, bottles of beer everywhere, the only room that seemed unaffected was Brandi’s. Perhaps because as Castiel saw, there was a lock on her door.
She came out in her old date outfit that she was able to wear. The black gloves and white tank and jeans made her look very appealing. She sat on his legs and leaned against him. The red mark on her face was fading, but it made him angry to look at it.
“Does he do this often?” Lysander asked, already thinking about having Leigh and Rosalie help.
Brandi and her mother both stiffened. Apparently he did. Both boys knew it was more abuse then the women could handle. Casey put the coffee down on the table, and as she did Castiel saw that her hands shook terribly. Castiel quickly took the mugs and put them down then he looked at her.
“How long as this been going on!?”
Casey wrung her hands.
“S-seventeen years…”
They all knew Brandi was seventeen years old. Castiel walked home with Demon off his leash. Brandi couldn’t be the reason that Dave was so abusive, then again, he didn’t get the whole story. All he knew was that Dave hit Brandi just for being pregnant. He opened the door to the home he considered moving out of now. It just wasn’t the same no more. She wasn’t’ living there, and he had to be there for her. He sat on the couch, and for the second time in his life, he considered changing his image again when the phone rang. It was Brandi. He was running fast through the storm. Brandi had called and said the lights were out, Casey was lying on the floor in a puddle of blood, and right before she took a breath to scream, the phone cut out. Instantly angered and worried, Castiel had whistled to Demon and they ran out. He stumbled as his foot hit a rock, but he kept running, he needed to get to her house. He saw a broken pipe sticking out of the alley he was going to run by, and he grabbed it, knowing it was Dave. Brandi screamed on the floor of her bedroom, her father above her with a gun. Tears filled her eyes as he pointed it at her, thinking she was about to die. Just as he went to pull the trigger, Brandi’s maternal instincts kicked on, and she wrapped her arms protectively around her stomach, wanting to protect her baby at least. If she died, then the baby needed that chance to possibly live if it was possible. She heard the cock of the hammer, then a sickening thud. She opened her eyes.
“Castiel!” She went to go to him but stopped, her smile dropping.
His eyes were blazing with anger and the pipe he held in his hand showed blood. Her father was jerking on the floor, his brain shutting down. Castiel raised the pipe above his head, planning to kill him. After the first couple bashes, Brandi finally snapped out of it.
“CASTIEL NO!” She lunged forward, grabbing the pipe and wrapping another arm around his neck.
He snapped out of it, and looked at her. Castiel dropped the pipe and held her in his arms. It finally hit him that he could get into trouble. He grabbed the pipe, kissed Brandi, and ran from her home. It was all over Sweet Amoris the next day that Brandi’s father was brain damaged by an unknown assailant. By the time the news reached Leigh and Lysander, they already knew who put the man into the hospital. Castiel.
Lysander decided to go and visit his friend and blow off the rest of school. He walked the mile to his friends house, and knocked. Castiel opened the door shortly after, looking tired as hell.
“Fuck dude, did you even sleep?”
“How could I…I nearly killed a man…”
“So we heard.”
“Well that fucking figures.” Castiel let him in and walked back to his room where there was a pail next to the bed.
Lysander looked in it.
“You ain’t one for puking your lungs up.”
“My nerves got the best of me.” Castiel said, laying back down and watching the show he had on.
“I see.” Lysander sat down next to him, “Brandi been by?”
“Not yet. She called from the hospital saying her mother and her need a place to stay so their looking. Casey is asking that I move in with them.”
Castiel reached for the pail, holding it inches from his face. Lysander moved a bit.
“Do they have a idea where they want to live?”
“Close to the school.” He coughed.
Lysander jumped up, not wanting it to splash up on him. As the other got sick, Lysander tried to remember if there was anything by the school for rent. Perhaps Brandi and her mother could live in one of the school dorms. Then again…parents aren’t allowed. Castiel choked and finished, putting the pail back on the floor and wiping his mouth with a tissue.
“Dude are you ok?”
“I told you, it’s my nerves…”
“Look, there’s nothing holding you to the evidence. He was drunk, they think he got into a fight.”
Castiel looked at him just as someone knocked on the door. He got up, and ran, feeling bile rush to his mouth. He yanked the door open and ran to the sink to vomit. He felt a small hand on his back, rubbing him as he choked. After washing his mouth out and the sink, he turned to see Brandi.
“Brandi?”
Her arms surrounded his chest and she laid her head on him. To Brandi, Castiel was her savior, the one who protected her no matter what the cost was. It was like she was Lois Lane and he was Superman. Casey was also there, and she smiled at Castiel. He could see bandages under her shirt. He then noticed Nala, looking about his home with bruises on her own face.
“You won’t believe how grateful we are.”
He looked to see her still hugging him, and his own arms wrapped around her body.
“They don’t know it was you. We don’t plan on telling them.”
“You could get into trouble.”
“It’s worth the risk.” Casey smiled.
Brandi looked up.
“Come live with us, we found a two bedroom apartment that auntie is willing to help us rent.”
"But, mama found extra money in the bank from her nana so we bought a whole new house. You can turn the basement into a apartment." Nala added.
He nodded, and held her body to his.
