Er, I'm a doofus. Of course you're also going to tell us what happened in the next chapter and possibly sooner than Rule 39 will, but I meant that I'm just very eager to also find out from Razer or Phoenix's POV, since I'm insanely curious on either perspective. Especially if it's in the aftermath and all, which may include lots of comforting and what not.

And Dax is also going to need some comforting from Jak after that long, horrible shift. Poor guy. I do hope he can find someone to cover his shift on Saturday! :1

Awww, man! That's a cruel cliff-hanger you've left us on! Also, now I can't wait for Rule 39 to show what happened... or will it not update until Phoenix can get around to soothing the poor ruffled beast that is Razer? Graah! Inquiring minds must wait! And squirm on the edge of their seats as they do! (I know Grimreaperchibi writes Rule 39, but since you're both sort of collaborating, it's still a valid comment here.)

Also, Phoenix's prank in the shower was horrible, but delicious. It's good to know he's equal opportunity in his devilishness and it's good to hear that Jak is also concerned about Razer. Friendship! I loved how Jak was amazed that Razer apologized to him too. Hah hah! Of course he'd be amazed, but it makes perfect sense that no one would dare bring down the wrath of Jak onto them if it could be avoided. :P :D

The shower outtake was also great. Heh heh. Actually, I do wonder what Razer's and Dax's reactions would be if Phoenix had a little quickie with Jak in the shower some time. I'm pretty sure they'd both be kind of heart-broken (though Razer would never admit it.) I have to say, now that I've thought of it, that is a decidedly juicy mental image. Would you mind at least sharing it with Razer or Dax? I know you have things all planned out, but it might make a good outtake, if nothing else. Or share it with Grimreaperchibi at least... Though I suppose y'all have probably already imagined that at least once already! ;)

Incidentally, there were a few rare points of conversation where it took me a minute to figure out which character was speaking. Not too many, mostly the very beginning and then the initial exchange between Ximon and Daxter, off the top of my head. I realize you're busy but very eager to move the chapters along and I'm right there with you in that, but I think a few more "said" tags sprinkled in the longer bits of pure dialog would be helpful in future.

It's been obscenely long since I reviewed this, as I am the very definition of "procrastinator"...So here I am! Also I'd like to say that I'm that LadyFitz person over on Tumblr who keeps drawing fluffy doodles for this, so yeah, lol!

ANYWAY Where to start...First, the Halloween chapter was so wonderful and had so many good things I could just read it forever and never get bored. Jinx, Erol, Drunk Dax, Kissy Dax, Ass-slapping, everything. Perfect.

And I love how you brought in this little vein of the conflict with Razer, which has been hinted at, what with the last chapter's little argument at the party...

I just love how everything is starting to speed up, I just hope it doesn't fly by too quickly because I am totally enjoying the thrill of new chapters and shenanigans to read in this story. Poor Dax, and poor boys for completely being into each other and not even KNOWING how mutual it is XD And the way you write Protective Jak will ALWAYYYYYS win my heart with melty warm feelings.

OH GOSH AND KILLER. And the hug. And Killer sticking his head in Dax's shirt. (That may be something I have to draw :D)....

Any way, I could go on and on until I lose coherency about how lovely I find this story to be, BUT I WON'T I'll just like...Doodle it out or something. I just had to get my verbal appreciation out before I ended up procrasinating it for a whole 'nother update, lol.

So Everything is FANTASTIC, though I'm still wondering if there was any truth to that one out-take of Erol beating Dax up in a few chapters?? D: AHH BABIES.

I have a lot of anticipation for the next update

Wow! Where to begin? I love this story. The build-up has been long and beautiful. I love the crafting of a relationship and this definitely delivers. I love the way the AU has worked so many characters from J&D into it and I'm so glad they're in college, rather than high school. The details about college have all felt perfect too. I only went to a technical school, sadly, but I've always wondered about dorm life. I think I went to a dorm once, but it's been awhile and so I don't recall much. Regardless, all of the little details have seemed so real and sensible, I can tell that, even if there's some creative license going on that I don't know about, it's mostly accurate. It gives me as many warm fuzzies as the boys do!

And the characters... I love Jak and Daxter here. They're IC; very cute and funny. Having Keira go to another college is the best way to gently remove her from the equation (as well as there not being anything deeper between them to begin with), but she still sends texts and Jak still calls her, which is good. She's in their lives, she's Jak's friend, and I love it. I've never been happy with the authors who seem to have something against the girlfriend character from a franchise. Generally if I've enjoyed a movie, series, or game, and the level of atmospheric intensity isn't through the roof, I end up loving all of the characters to some degree (the reoccurring ones mostly, but also sometimes the one-shots.) Even the ones I don't love, I tend to like or respect, if that makes any sense.

For that reason, while I realize that Errol makes a great villain and he was cool at the Halloween party, I have some mixed feelings on his usage. Then again, I tend to view most of the villains as "just some guy" who ended up where they were because of whatever reasons that they had, for good or bad, and that's why I tend to adore them as well. I wasn't sure how I felt about Errol potentially raping Daxter (even if all he really wanted was to take the bathrobe off to embarrass Dax.) Especially when coupled with Daxter's near rape back-story. I mean, it's realistic. Shit like that can happen and it's sadly very realistic that Daxter would have been suspended as well. It left me a bit uncertain though. I felt perhaps it was a bit over the top, but I kept reading because I was enjoying the story anyway.

Then there's Daxter's overall back story. I realize it makes him sympathetic and explains why he reacts the way that he does. It's pretty much unthinkable for Dax to have parents; he's pretty much an orphan in everyone's minds by now, since nothing has been divulged and probably never will about his family in Sandover. He has to be an orphan, even in a modern AU setting to be him, and realistically people become orphans because their parents died or, the more likely scenario, they came from a broken home-life. It's not the idea itself, you see. I felt perhaps the way it all added up was a bit melodramatic. It's fine. At least one of the Demolition Duo has to have a rough life; they couldn't be who they are otherwise, honestly. It gives sympathy, for the readers and between the characters, and compassion is essential for love. I've read it all and I still enjoyed the thunder storm chapter all the same. And I love Jak's back story as a farm boy. On the whole, it's a minor complaint which I'm not even sure how it might be improved on. I guess mostly I just objected to the near rape, because I felt that Dax had enough for Jak to overcome by that point. And even that I don't mind. I have a very strong knee-jerk reaction to how rape can be so poorly used in fan fiction. This wasn't poorly done by any means; I simply felt it was a little extravagant, but I am probably in the minority there.

Oh and Jinx is perfect! I especially loved how he was worked in. Hah hah! You reminded me of my fondness for the man. I loved him at the party as well, of course. But then the whole party was absolutely perfect anyway.

Ahem, so, keep the chapters coming! This is one of the best AUs that I've read in a long time and trust me, I'm insanely picky about AUs. Most of the time I won't read them, especially if it's any kind of school setting, which is actually why it took me awhile to read this story. Then I read the first chapter and I was instantly hooked. :)

Site is on the fritz again apparently. Or is it just me that can't seem to make a non-anonymous review right now? Anywho...

I was kind of expecting another chapter of Keep Talking next, but was pleasantly surprised to see a new Room and Board. Not that I'm not looking forward to the next chapter of Keep Talking, but since you did leave us on a bit of a cliff hanger with Halloween night, I was looking forward to a resolution even more so. Also, nice touch releasing "the day after Halloween" on the day after Halloween. Was that deadline on purpose?

Loved the bit of conflict thrown in. And from seemingly out of the blue as well (or would it have been more obvious had I read Grimreaperchibi's companion fic?). Razor seeing through the two of them, and how oblivious they are of their situation, was interesting. He tends to do rather well in the role of love guru, despite being a bit of a cold bastard at times eh?

As I said before, I was half expecting Daxter to bolt. Seeing him want to seek Jak out to apologize was a nice bit of character development. Especially when coupled with Dax's realization about how he feels about Jak, and how damn cute he gets when he's flustered. I really don't see how Jak can resist offering more than just a hug to the poor thing!

Anyways, were you planning on doing a Christmas episode next? I'm still really digging the AU plotline, which brings things a bit closer to home, and I'm, as always, anticipating what you'll throw at us next.

Thanks for all the hard work so far this year (you even went and kept to a deadline for us!), and wishing you a happy Thanksgiving and merry Christmas if I don't get the chance later on.

I'm so happy for another part. Reading it was joy as it is anytime I read your work. I really want to see what's coming up in the future for the boys. I think you are single-handily improving my reading rate because I burned through this newest chapter. Looking at the other comments everyone expected the smexing including me because it's usually the first kiss then the relationship explodes exponentially but I can be patient but I can't wait for the next part.

Wow, SOMEONE woke up on the wrong side of the bed (Razer). Wonder what happened? I'll have to check GrimReaperChibi's fic and see if there's clues there. :3

Poor little Daxter. Finally facing his man-crush, and he doesn't realize Jak feels the same way. Oh well, I'm sure they'll get around to it, soon enough. I'll be waiting to see how well getting an apology out of Razer goes.

    Until then, laterz. ^w^

Hilarious outtakes, cute mild plot development, TOO MUCH SEXUAL TENSION! What, is this going to be The Prince and Me and they have a heavy make-out in the barn during Thanksgiving to declare themselves... you know what? Knowing you, you'll have that happen, with Keira spying and Damas being a homophobe, just to make things 'out there'. Anyway, nice work, and don't hesitate to update!

Finally, another chapter. Just right in time to be read while I have my breakfest. Turned out to be not the best idea, with all the going-to-puke-talk .... But besides that, a great chapter! Somehow I thought Jack would totally tell Daxter in some cheesy way he loves him, when Daxter talked about the kiss...oh an Jak would of course pin him to the door and naughty scenes would follow..or something. But no, the story goes on. I like that, the longer it takes for the two lovebirds to find each other, the more realistic and interesting it is. (even if my inner fangirl screams "c'mon where's the seeex?")

Can't wait for the next one. Still a big fan of your work.

Dear god...we've certainly made Razer out to be an asshole, haven't we? Well, let's be honest, he is right now. It's like his one constant attribute pan-universe/timeline. I admit no small glee on my part now for what I'm about to do to him. Though there may be a trace of regret for dragging Phoenix through this as well. Maybe after everything is said and done, Jak will appreciate the amount of restraint that went into shoving the poor redheaded waif into a closet. It's nice to see that they're smart enough to recognize that this was a little extreme, even for him. Do I dare say it...? People are starting to--no, nevermind. I'm not that brave yet.

See? Deadlines can be met. Good corgi, best writer. *hugs* Neko has absolute faith in your ability to continue forward. The Fans of Encouragement are at your disposal, whenever you need them.

Lol that end bit in the outtakes with Daxter freaking out, that so made me think of me and real world Daxter the other day when he saw a police car in the street with the lights on and two people were getting arrested and first he was getting super excited about it but then he remembered he had some weed in his pocket and he starts jumping to me saying "Oh shit there's weed in my pocket Jak, their gonna smell it and I'll get arrested! Jak! Jak!" and I just said like dead calmly "Stop freaking out about it and act bloody normal then they won't notice," still made me laugh a lot.

    And the kiss was cute.

And #meep# the outtake with Erol, still sort of half waiting for that though.

I know you've read this once already, but I just had to reiterate:

Great chapter! I'm really liking the variety in this story: going from the soft and cuddly movie night to a Halloween party and chase scene should seem jarring, but it really flows here. As usual, your pacing is impeccable, which must be pretty hard to manage since this the the first story with clear time gaps between chapters, as well as AU character development to deal with.

The scene with Erol was amazing and gave us something to be apprehensive over, while the kiss was rather unexpected and gave us some relationship development to anticipate. The chase scene was brilliant too, loved that Jak knew to avoid the alley.

Glad Dax seems to be getting over his jock-phobia...although scaring Jak to try and distract him from the kiss seemed a bit cruel. Maybe payback for the ass slap?

Okay, some new stuff after a second read through:

Nice play with their costumes matching up to the regular universe (although I suppose having Dax dress as a cuddly animal would have been a bit too much). Having Erol as a police officer was a nice touch.

Your scene descriptions this chapter were just plain beautiful. Makes me look forward to the season, even though the weather stays mostly the same where I'm at.

I have to admit that I was half expecting Daxter to run after that kiss. He probably would have if their relationship hadn't developed a bit during that storm. Although I do suspect that he wouldn't have gotten too far before stumbling into a light pole or tripping over his own feet if he had tried to bolt.

Anyways, looking forward to the next chapter as always, and I'm glad the site problems seem to be resolved.
