The dark halls was one thing, but a building on fire? Dawn didn't know what she was staring at, but she was sure it had to do with that brown haired woman and the red headed man. Though it didn't feel right. Her chest felt tight, and her butt actually hurt, as if someone raped her.
When she saw the one with green eyes, it pained to walk on her ankle, her neck was sore beyond belief, and the worst feeling of illness over took her, grief, depression, anger, and then a angry pain in her back would jerk her back to being awake.
The red haired man on the other hand gave her the same feeling only in through her stomach, depression, grief, hope that something wouldn't happen, but it did. She wondered if these were the feelings that they last felt, and their pain.
She cried. The grief of losing a loved one pained through her, body and soul.
"Who are you...what do you want from me?!"
"Leigh..."
"Leigh?!"
Dawn looked up, expecting to see the man she worked for, only to see someone vaguely familiar. He had white hair with a black streak on one long piece and a bit of his bangs. A green and yellow eye, and Victorian style clothing. Who was he?
"Tell Leigh..."
"Tell Leigh what?!"
Dawn screamed as she woke up, tears falling off her cheeks. Nala rushed into her nieces room with Kopa directly behind her.
"Dawn!"
Kopa knelt by his cousins bed as she cried. The feeling of grief was overwhelming, so she had to talk to Leigh.
"Ow Leigh..."
"I'm sorry Dawn, but you're moving so much it's rather hard to not prick you with the pins."
She blew her bangs out of her face, and waited until he was done.
"Done yet?"
"With the entire project. You're impossible."
Dawn mimicked him then threw on her own clothes.
"Hey Leigh...do you have a family member that had white hair?"
"I did..."
Did. That meant he no longer did.
"What happened to him?"
"I don't know. All I know is that he was killed. That's it."
"You don't even know how?"
"No. I wish I did. I wish I could bring him back too." Leigh closed his eyes.
"Y-you mean he's not..."
"No. I was just told that he was buried where he died."
"Who buried him?"
"I don't know. I know all I told you."
Dawn felt bad. Leigh was a good looking man, married to a friend of her aunt's, and a even better seamstress and clothing store owner. What horror laid in his past obviously haunted him ever since.
"What did...he look like?"
Leigh sighed, but he smiled.
"Come with me."
He led her into his home, and took a picture off the wall from the mantle piece. He handed it to her. His right eye was yellow and his left eye was green. His hair white and short with a long piece off to the side dyed black along with a bit of his bangs. He was a handsome young man.
"Duke Lysander."
Dawn looked up.
"That's his name?"
"He preferred Lysander over Duke anyday."
Leigh sat down and pulled out a picture and a document.
"You can have these. They belong to you anyways, I never felt right given them to Nala, and she always would tell me to keep the damned things."
Dawn took them from Leigh, and looked. It was a snapshot of Lysander and her. He was smiling up at someone, his eyes wide but tired. In his arms he held her, a baby. She looked at the document to see that he was her official godfather. Or had been.
"Whose my god mother?"
"That would be Nala."
"Hey Auntie, could you tell me about Lysander?"
"Talk to Leigh sweety, he knew him best."
"I did."
"Then you have everything you know."
"Not everything. I don't know how he died, or what happened to him. I know what Leigh told me, and he...showed up."
"Showed up?" Nala raised an blond eyebrow into her hair.
"He appeared in my dream. There was a hotel, it was on fire. And...oh Auntie I felt like someone raped me through the backdoor! My chest hurt so much and I was so sad for a guy. I don't even know why!"
Nala dropped the book she had been reading. What Dawn dreamt about was what Lysander had felt when he left the world.
"W-what do..."
"You know what I mean! I just told you!"
Nala sighed.
"He was raped...I couldn't' tell Leigh that."
Dawn looked at her aunt through teary eyes.
"Raped?"
"By our own teacher."
Nala launched into explanation about Lysander, who he was, what he could do, and how he died.
"I think it was a heart attack."
"But he was so young!"
"When I pulled him out, and took his jacket and shirt of to clean them best I could so that he wasn't buried with blood that he vomited on him, I noticed a pin prick on his neck. I looked it up when I got home and saw that it could have happened through a shot of air. I just couldn't tell Leigh...he would be so hurt knowing how Lysander died."
In a way, Dawn could understand, but Leigh needed it.
"He needs it Auntie."
Nala looked at her niece.
"He still mourns his brother's death. He wants to bring him home."
Another dream. This time, in an empty room as Dawn awoke in her dream, and sat up on the bed. It was dark, and she felt like it was squeezing her.
"Dawn."
Dawn stiffened, then relaxed. That deep voice always made her feel so safe. Arms in a black leather jacket that matched her white own circled her.
"Is my baby doing ok?"
"I'm fine...daddy..."
It felt so right to call him by such a name. Yet again, the pain in her stomach but the feeling of grief poured through her.
"What happened to you?"
"Go talk to Dajan. You may like him."
Dawn jolted awake. The pain was gone but the grief remained.
There was only one man that Dawn knew by the name Dajan, and he was her coworker. She walked into the gym, and smirked.
"Yo Daj!"
"Please don't call me that." Dajan said, looking up from the list of students joining the Basketball Club.
"Why not?" She whined.
"Think what it sounds like..."
Dawn smirked at him. Dajan finished writing down names then looked at her with a smile.
"What can I do for you Dawn?"
"I want to know about my father."
Dajan's smile disappeared. He knew her father. Knew him well enough. He had been in the club, and even talked to Dajan about his girlfriend being knocked up.
"I knew him."
"Who was he?"
Dajan looked at her.
"Castiel."
"What color hair did he have?"
Then he smiled.
"Well. Two. He had natural black hair, but he dyed it red."
The red haired man in her dreams.
"Eye color?"
"Brown. Grey on some days."
"Depending on his mood?"
"Yeah."
Dawn picked up a ball and begun to play around the world. Dajan watched her. She was barely swayed by the fact that her father was gone. Then again, she didn't know how he was killed.
"So tell me how he died." She said, having a heart wrenching feeling she already knew that it had something to do with his stomach.
Dajan made a face then sat on the bleachers, crossing his sweat clad legs.
"Shot."
"Where?"
He looked at her.
"In the stomach..."
Dawn let the ball roll away from her as she stared wide eyed at the floor where she had been looking. That explained the stomach pain. She had no idea someone had been calling her name until hands touched her.
Dawn looked up at Dajan, who was frowning down at her.
"Why..."
"We really don't' know. All we know is that Nala came back and told us what happened, and it was published in the newspaper that's just as old as you."
Dawn turned around, tears in her large green eyes. He pulled her into his arms and held her as she cried.
Nala noticed how drawn Dawn was. She wasn't even talking to Kopa. The blond put his hand on her arm.
"Let's go watch some TV. You seem down."
"I am down Kopa."
But she gave in, and went with him. They sat together on the couch, watching whatever was on the history channel. Nala had the aching feeling that Dawn may have found out about her parents. She had to talk to her.
"Dawn. Please come here."
Dawn groaned and crawled over her now annoyed cousin and got up, walking to her aunt.
"What Auntie?"
Dawn followed her aunt out onto the wrap around porch, and sat on the steps with her.
"You have been down. What did you find out today?"
Dawn sighed.
"Daddy..."
"Ah. Castiel." Nala gave a odd little smile.
"Did you like him?"
"When I first met him I hated him. He was so rotten about Nathaniel, but Brandi fell for him in an instant. While my first date was in a school library,"
Dawn laughed.
"Your mother and father...did it on the school roof..."
Now she was staring wide eyed at her aunt.
"I remember that he smoked, but she did too, so it sort of only came as a shock to me. But he loved your mother even past death."
"Did he really?"
"Dawn the minute he found out she was having his baby, he smiled and spun her around, even though they were teenagers."
"What happened to him?"
"He was shot in the stomach. We couldn't save him, he died while we were dragging him away from the scene and to the door."
"Whose we?"
"Your mother and I."
